Dumpling Empire is seriously one of our favorite spots in Omaha. Every time we come in, the staff is amazing--always so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely nice. The food comes out quick, hot, and fresh every single time. The pan-fried dumplings are a must, and the chicken fried rice is always so good. Honestly, everything we've tried has been great. We ordered way too many items our first visit but they all looked so good! Nothing was a miss but the buns were my favorite, but I'dskip the pork belly bun next time. My husband's favorite were the soup dumplings. We will definitely be back to continue to try all of the yummy dumplings. read more

I am SO happy I decided to try this place. I'm already obsessed! I stopped in for a solo lunch during a busy work week, and even though it was packed, they seated me right away at the last available table (clearly a popular lunch spot!). My server was amazing. Super helpful in explaining the menu and attentive without being overbearing. The inside was also really cute and clean, which made the experience even better. I started with the cucumber salad, which was incredibly refreshing with the perfect touch of spice and flavor. For my entrée, I ordered the pan-fried pork dumplings, and WOW, absolutely delicious. They were cooked to perfection, tasted super fresh, and you could tell they were made to order. The portion sizes were very filling for one person, and everything exceeded my expectations. I don't know HOW I slept on Dumpling Empire for so long. We finally went (to the newer West Omaha location) and we could not have been more impressed. It's in a newer build strip mall next to Stokin' Goat, La Mesa, and Square Donut. But the interior feels like they've been there for years. Very homey, and bustling with diners. They have a handful of tables, but most people were taking their orders to go, it seemed like. We ate inside and had the most wonderful server named Juan. Juan was so friendly and gave us awesome recommendations, since it was our first time. He was jokey and super friendly. There were two specials on the daily menu when we went, that both looked good so we grabbed those, and they were both super tasty! The first was the crab leg noodle soup, and this was to DIE for! So crabby, with little crab leg filets in the delicious broth. It had a little heat to it, but nothing too crazy - just for extra flavor. And the second special was the Chicken Dumplings which we got pan fried. They had such tender dumpling dough filled with chicken, peas, carrots, and corn so it almost tasted like chicken noodle soup. So good! Since it was our first time there, we may have over ordered. Those two specials would have been enough (we split both items). But before we knew it, we had ordered two MORE dumplings. I chose the pan fried beef bun, and the beef was VERY flavorful. They were almost a little meatball in each bun which was so yum. And the tri-color soup dumplings were our last item, and we LOVED them, even though we were so full at the point. We read how you eat soup dumplings traditionally (bite off top point, slurp out the soup, eat rest of dumpling), but we also tried to just eat a whole one in one bite and it was fun too, exploding the soup in your mouth. Since we way over ordered, we definitely took some to-go containers, and Juan even put our soda into to-go cups for us to take. AND when I accidentally left that cup of soda on the table, he ran after me outside to make sure I didn't forget it. Now that is service! We will definitely be back to Dumpling Empire again (either this West Omaha kocation or the midtown spot). You should go too - you will NOT be disappointed. read more

Wow! First time trying Dumpling Empire and I think I've become a future regular. Service was fast and helpful, while the wait time for food was less than 15 minutes for several items. First of all, the fried buns were fantastic! Crispy outside with a warm inside filling. Then we shared a combo fried rice and a combo noodle. These noodles were some of the best I've had! Not too salty and such a great flavor. Definitely recommend them! Next time we'll have to dine in, but this take out experience was one to remember! read more

I really wanted to love this place but at least for delivery it was just okay. I think a lot of the soup dumplings soup came out in transit so they were not as soupy as I would have liked. I also tried the braised beef bun and the scallion beef pancake roll and I just found overall everything was lacking a lot of flavor or basic seasoning like salt. I had to add some seasoning myself to eat it. Food also came luke warm. Overall, if you're going to try this place I'd say this is a dine in only spot and don't try to get it delivered like I did. I'm sure in person everything hot at your table would be a much better experience. read more

I've heard a lot about this place, so I had to try it. We shared several dishes, and overall it was very good. The hot and sour soup was hearty, with plenty of mushrooms and tofu, though I wish it had a bit more bite. The cucumber salad was a nice change - large cucumbers cut on an angle with a ginger, garlic, scallion sauce and what I think were chili peppers. Different and really enjoyable, with just enough heat. The spring rolls were boring--mostly thinly shredded cabbage with very little flavor. My favorite dish by far was the roast pork buns. So good. The sauce inside had a BBQ flavor that I loved. My least favorite was the tri-color steamed soup bun. I know these are popular, but the texture just didn't work for me. The pork filling was pale and overly soggy, and the bun itself was too soggy as well. The staff was friendly and the food came out fast. It was very steamy inside, so definitely wear layers. I'd go back for the roast pork buns, and I'd love to try their eggplant salad next time. read more

I've been so excited for this location to open. There is a dumpling place in Portland Oregon I love and its so nice we have a great spot in Omaha! We tried a bit of everything - crab rangoon, wontons, buns, dumpling and fried rice. I would pass on the fried rice, it was not the best, but we were so happy with everything else! They were busy on a Sunday night, they were pretty much full inside and had a few groups on the outdoor patio as well. The cucumber salad was great, the steamed beef buns with the chili oil are delicious, the egg drop soup is classic and comforting, and my husband enjoyed the spicy noodles with chicken(even though I didn't). We went there for the 2nd time (1st time was great) and literally they sat us down and did NOT come and serve us at all. We went there for a NYE dinner and ended up having to leave because no one even came to the table to ask us what we wanted to drink let alone order food. After about 15 minutes we went to leave and someone said "bye thank you" & we had to say thank you for what you guys didn't even serve us. We frequent restaurants often and that was by far the worst experience and on a holiday at that. We went to Chic fil a and some could learn from them when it comes to service!
