Spent an evening around Christmas. Hosts were very accommodating for our after hour arrival. Breakfast was freshly prepared and delish.

The Fam. and I spent this past Friday and Saturday night at Trapper's and we would return in a heartbeat. Trapper's Rendezvous site out in the wide open spaces that surround Williams. If you want to get to town, it is a 5 minute drive, maybe 10 if you get stuck behind an RV. You get the peace and quiet with the convenience of being close to town. We arrived at Trapper's around 3 after visiting Bearizona and having lunch. Check-in wasn't until 4, but we called and said our room was ready. Emily and Matthieu are the onsite hosts and they are so nice. They do a great job at taking care of the place. Literally within minutes or people checking out, they are getting the room ready for the next guest. Trapper's has a total of 6 cabins. All of them placed around a courtyard with a large pavilion in the center. We were assigned cabin one. Better known as Wild Wild West. The room was spacious with to very comfortable queen sized beds. There was also a smart tv, fridge, and coffee maker. You can even sit out on the front porch to Strat your morning with a cup of coffee or watch the sun go down in the evening. Note: Cabin 1 is an ADA room. If you feel like cooking for yourself, there is a gas grill available in the pavilion. We grilled some kabobs and it was a great experience. However, you'll need to bring your own plates and flatware. If you want to sit around the fire and make s'mores, you can do that also. Everything you need is provided for you. All you need is the s'mores fixins.

Former…read moreInnkeepers' Perspective As former bed-and-breakfast owners, we know firsthand just how incredibly demanding this business can be. It's nonstop work - from the early morning prep for gourmet breakfasts to the meticulous cleaning, thoughtful decorating, and personalized hosting that makes guests feel truly welcomed. It's exhausting, but when done right, it's magical. That's why we're so thrilled to share our experience at the Sheridan House Inn. This B&B doesn't just meet the high standards of the industry; it soars far above and beyond them. From the moment we arrived, the attention to detail was evident. The accommodations are among the best we've ever encountered - luxurious, spotlessly clean rooms with premium linens, comfortable beds that invite deep sleep, and thoughtful amenities that show the owners truly care about guest comfort. The Inn itself creates a warm, inviting environment that's relaxing yet elegant, the kind of atmosphere that's hard to achieve but makes all the difference. And the food? Outstanding. The breakfasts are gourmet masterpieces - fresh, creative, and delicious, prepared with obvious passion and skill. But what truly sets the Sheridan House apart and elevates it above and beyond any other B&B we've ever stayed are the exceptional dinners they offer. These are not your typical B&B fare; they're multi-course Michelin-style quality meals that are memorable, beautifully presented, and an absolute highlight of the stay. The location in the charming town of Williams is another huge plus. Williams is a great place to visit - from exploring the historic Route 66 vibe and gateway access to the Grand Canyon, to unique shops, railroads, wildlife parks, and hiking trails. The hosts go all out without making it feel forced - they're genuinely hospitable, anticipating needs and sharing local insights that enhance the stay. This level of dedication is rare and deserves recognition. Is it worth the money? Absolutely, and then some. In a world of cookie-cutter hotels and average B&Bs, the Sheridan House delivers great value through an unparalleled experience. If you're looking for the best bed-and-breakfast getaway - especially in the Southwest - it'd be hard, if not impossible, to beat this one. Highly recommended without reservation. Thank you to the wonderful owners, Debby & Mark, for keeping the spirit of true B&B hospitality alive and thriving.

I need to mention the breakfast which we decided to enjoy on our wrap around patio was the right choice for us. The service, the coffee and the courses were exceptional and they were chosen upon check-in the night prior. The service was perfection and attention to detail beyond measure. What can I say, I loved this place!

We originally…read morestopped because there's a Shell gas station right next door and we needed gas, but once we looked over and saw the restaurant, we checked Yelp, saw the great reviews and photos, and decided to give it a try. So glad we did! After several days of driving, hiking, and kayaking, it was really nice to finally sit down and enjoy a relaxing dinner. There's also a Native shop attached to the restaurant, which was fun to browse through before eating. The restaurant itself is toward the back, and the restrooms are conveniently located nearby, so I was able to freshen up and change before dinner after being outdoors all day. I ordered the deluxe cheeseburger combo, which totally hit the spot, while my friend got the beef stew with Native fry bread. I'll admit, I was a little jealous when I saw her dish because it looked so warm and comforting after the chilly weather and all the kayaking and hiking we had done earlier that day! Thankfully she let me try the fry bread, and it was delicious. The atmosphere was welcoming, the food was great, and it ended up being the perfect way to wrap up our Arizona trip. Definitely recommend stopping here to fill up on gas and grab a good sit-down meal while passing through!

Interesting things stand the test of time here. I've been told boys born around 1920 used a Spanish armor breastplate to slide on village dunes. In Old Oraibi, beans and bean stems in a pot placed in an underground storage area and forgotten, carbon dated at Northern Arizona University to about 800 CE/AD. Cameron Trading Post and the first bridge across the Little Colorado are in that swirl of time. Stone architecture from 1916 or earlier, stands solidly in place. Most indoor areas are modernized. Some dining room decorations date to the early years. The pressed tin ceilings were common in my grandparent's world - and rusted away long ago in most of the USA. The main trading post has everything from old, valuable, regional items, to gleaming eye-grabbers from China luring toddlers and youngsters into tantrums. There are also food and other useful items for everyday life, like hanks of wool yarn, etc. The restaurant has excellent, regionally based dishes for your dining appreciation, wspecially the giant, hefty, Navajo Taco. There's a hotel here. A woman I knew, losing her hundred years alive to COVID in 2021, worked in the hotel as a teenager. Gas Station, apparently an RV Park, another great shop full of antique Southwest treasures are on the grounds. This is an exceptional stop on the Colorado Plateau.

The manager on duty was great, the bowling alley/arcade staff was great, the staff in the bar and the check in staff were great. We enjoyed ourselves so much here. Since we had a long few days before we checked in at Squire and had another day to spend at the Grand Canyon and then our drive to Vegas, we enjoyed the comfy beds, quiet rooms, breakfast (purchase when you make your reservation) and elk in the morning. Stay away! Dishonest owner!…read more If you read this entire post, thank you. It is long but I thought carefully before I posted because after reading previous Yelp and Google reviews, I see the owner thoughtfully replies and defends her property, while trying to discount the feelings of the reviewer whenever something negative is posted. On 8/1/24 I booked a stay at Arizona Mountain Cabins and Inn (which I will shorten to AZMCI going forward) through my credit card's points website which uses Expedia. The price point that came up for Cabin 9 from 8/16-8/18 was $72 per night. I booked it easily enough. That evening I received an email from the owner, Mary. You can read screenshot below, but basically she said there was a pricing error beyond her control, and wanted to know if I still want the reservation at $172 per night. It was late and I did not respond. The next day I received three missed phone calls and one voicemail from AZMCI. I called Expedia twice that day first, told them the situation and asked if AZMCI was required to honor the price. Both people I spoke with said the stay was already paid for, so there are no issues with the price. I then called AZMCI and talked briefly with someone before Mary came on the phone. Our conversation was 7 minutes long. I was very calm when speaking with her. Told her that this was not the first time I had an issue booking with them. The last time was before Covid and I booked a one night stay over a weekend. I remember getting a call soon after and whoever I spoke with at the time said it was a two-night minimum and asked if I still want the reservation. I was not able to stay more than one night at the time, so I cancelled it. When I told this to Mary, she did not seem phased by my previous experience, nor my current experience and only about her bottom line. Mary did say that $72 would not even pay for the cleaning. She did offer me a stay in the lodge and a reduced rate, which I also declined because I was bringing my dogs and they are not allowed in the lodge. In the end, I told her I need to think about it and I will be in contact. In 8/3/24, I replied to Mary's email where I said she should make it right (see image). On 8/5/24, I replied simply saying, 'I am sure you had a busy weekend. Please reply.' I waited longer. Later on 8/5/24, I receive an email from Expedia say that I have been banned (see image). I called Expedia and they contacted AZMCI because they still saw the reservation in the system still. The agent told me that I cannot stay at their property because I was banned back in 2018. If I was banned, why would she offer me another room and ask me if I still wanted the reservation? Mary was not able to cancel my reservation, so she tried to manipulate me into doing myself. When I wouldn't budge, she made up that I was banned. Hey, I know Mary has a business to run and a bottom line, but as the owner, she had the power to make it right for the guest. I hope you think again before booking this property. And Mary, I eagerly await your response and hope you are honest in what you say. Without guests, you are nothing but empty cabins.
