We really enjoyed our stay at the Red Feather Lodge. The staff was friendly and accommodating throughout our visit. The lobby was extremely busy when we checked in, but they had plenty of staff at the concierge desk, so the process moved quickly and painlessly. There's no breakfast offered onsite, but they do provide discounts to several nearby restaurants, which was a nice perk. The location is perfect--just minutes from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Our room was clean, comfortable, and the toiletries provided were surprisingly good quality. We also appreciated being able to park right next to our room, which made unloading and reloading luggage super convenient. The only downsides were our curtains didn't fully close, so we had to improvise with a hair tie, MacGyver-style, to make sure we had complete privacy. There was also a family with a dog that barked a couple times during the night right next door (pets are welcome here). Other than those small issues, we had a great stay and would definitely consider staying here again. read more

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. If you have a pet, you will be in the motel, otherwise, you have a choice. There is coffee, tea, and hot cocoa, but no breakfast. There is a discount at both Plaza Bonita Mexican Restaurant and Foodies. Both restaurants are family owned and great. I absolutely loved my stay at the Red Feather Lodge during my trip to the Grand Canyon! I was looking for a pet-friendly hotel not far from the Grand Canyon and Red Feather Lodge was perfect. This hotel has pet-friendly rooms available, however you do need to book your room in advance. I booked mine about 3 weeks before my travel date. This hotel is awesome because it's only about 10 minutes away from the entrance to Grand Canyon National Park. Check in was at 4:00 p.m. and check out at 12 p.m. There is a pretty large parking lot right in front of the entrance, but it does get full. At check in, there were plenty of spots available. If you notice that the parking lot near the entrance is full, the hotel staff told me you could park in their motel parking lot or in front of the Plaza Bonita restaurant. Walking in, you can tell that the hotel is very clean and their staff was welcoming. They charge you a $25 pet fee for your entire stay, which I thought was very reasonable. They don't have breakfast at the hotel, but they do offer a 10% discount at the Plaza Bonita and Foodie Club restaurants nearby. They also have coffee and tea available for their guests. I thought it was nice that they have dog treats available at the check in counter. They give you a magnetic sign to place on your door to notify their staff that there is a pet inside as well. The room itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable. I slept like a baby in their comfy bed after my Grand Canyon hike. I would definitely stay again if I'm in the area. read more

We stayed in this lodge during the Xmas / New Year holiday week and it was very crowded. The line to check in was long, parking lot got filled up very quickly and it seemed they were short-staffed. Free coffee / tea / hot water was available in the lobby of the main building. The room was reasonably clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable and had all the necessities. The location is very convenient as it was closed to shops and restaurants, and most important, it was closed to the entrance of The Grand Canyon NP. Breakfast was not included, but a discount would be given if you present their room key to a nearby restaurant. Not a bad choice if you want to stay close to the NP entrance. read more

We took a quick weekend getaway up north from the valley and decided to go to the Grand Canyon for a stay. We didn't want to stay in the village, but chose to stay in Tusayan where we booked a room at the Red Feather Lodge. The guest services, the accommodations, the location, the coffee and tea in the morning, was all a great addition to a wonderful stay. We were within walking distance to the Grand Canyon tourism center and a 6 1/2 mile bike ride on a very nice trail right to the Grand Canyon and the south rim. Highly recommend especially if you're an avid mountain bike rider and want to take a nice trail to town. Very comfortable and friendly, friendly, friendly staff ( and quiet!) read more

The location is perfect for visiting the Grand Canyon. It's right outside the gates. The room was beautiful and had the largest tv I've ever seen in a hotel. The beds were super comfortable. I stayed in the HOTEL part of the Lodge which is attached to the lobby. There are numerous businesses in the same area so parking was a nightmare. I only spoke to staff at check in which was hectic and loud. The ground floor room was clean and filled with "amenities" like fridge, micro, coffee pot, and TV which all had tiny lights/displays that were very bright at night. The AC fan was loud and rattled when turned on, so much so that it was difficult to sleep. The only other complaint was the shower head- it had a lot of mineral buildup that only allowed the water to trickled out. I didn't hear any neighbors or talking during the night so that was a plus. The location right outside of the park was a big plus for me. read more

This hotel is conveniently close to the Grand Canyon Park (South Rim). We stayed in the middle of April and it was packed. The hotel is very old and it definitely shows how outdated it is. It was very clean though and we had no issues other than how thin the walls are. If you're able to choose, pick a top floor! Otherwise you will hear the upstairs guests. The walls are paper thin and we heard every creek and footsteps. We only stayed her for a night, but overall had a good experience. read more

We were traveling with a pet and I had never been in a room that was pet friendly before, but they make accommodations for the pets and this place came through being a clean, shiny new penny looking room that was very comfortable and the beds were very, very soft and lush But perfect for back support. We were in a room that was nice and quiet and we had a good nights sleep, which gave us plenty of time to recuperate and explore more of the Grand Canyon nearby. I was a bit hesitant about this stay because I booked the motel and a pet friendly room. To my surprise, we were given a room that didn't allow pets and had no smells in it. The place was a little dated in terms of the door and furniture, but everything was clean and comfortable. The heat was cranked up when we got in, which felt very nice from the 30 degrees outside. There was a free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate station at the lobby, but you have to request for hot chocolate at the desk. I guess too many people have helped themselves to extra packets. Nature valley bars are also free, but you have to ask at the desk. read more

Very clean and they serve hot cocoa, tea and coffee 24 hours in the lobby for free. Lovely fireplace in the lobby is so comforting and welcoming. There's a little cubby with a few vending machines and a microwave. That's nice. My only issue is that I'm disabled and the room they gave us was a pretty long walk away from the entrance. We asked if there was one closer (we did request an ADA room when reserved) but they didn't have one I guess. It was really painful and difficult for me to get to my room after returning from a long day out at the canyon. I couldn't seem to cool off after my heart rate hit up so high so I called up to the front desk hoping beyond hope they might have a little fan I could use and they DID! I was so surprised and grateful they brought it to my room for me. That was really wonderful to do for me and I really appreciate that. Thank you so much. read more

HUGH RECOMMENDATION for when your visiting Grand Canyon. Great roadside stop ~15 min from most parts of the park -- MUCH better than El Tovar in the Village. Staff was phenomenal -- very friendly, helped me get an early check in, and printed my camping reservation for me when I had an issue with the business center. Pool is on the small side but great to have; the hot tub was a fun bonus on a cooler July day! My room was clean and well taken care of. Room featured fridge, microwave, abundant towels, good hair dryer. During the day, parking was a breeze. After sunset, it was a little more difficult, but still easy. If I come back, this is definitely where I'd stay. read more

Stayed here with our trip to Grand Canyon! Front desk was amazing and they were busy but able to find us a room, we actually got the last one! Natalie was a sweetheart when checking us in! We were placed in there lodge in the back, the room was clean a basic motel! The bed absolutely comfortable, slept the best since I have since being in Arizona. All the basics available only disappointment was they didn't have breakfast included for the cost of the room. But we would stay here again if in the area It appears they have a pool and hot tub as well but we got in late didn't get to check this out read more

Every time I visit the Grand Canyon, which has been numerous times, my husband & i stay at the Red Feather Lodge. We have never been disappointed, which is why we come back. We stayed there, recently, on Wednesday, August 6th. This review is on the young man, Marion, who checked us in at the front desk. KUDOS to him for the EXCELLENT customer service he gave me. If i could give him more then 5 stars, i definitely would. Many more!! I'm a stickler when it comes to customer service, especially now a days when you don't find it much anymore. Not the case with Marion. I had 3 front desk people to choose from & i truly believe the universe pointed me to him. He greeted me with a smile, a how are you doing today & i could see & hear his genuine caring for me "the guest". Since they weren't busy at the time, we were able to have a very nice conversation. Considering that he was a lot younger then me, I'd say maybe early 20's & I'm 71, i enjoyed the fact that yes, two generations so far apart could have an interesting talk like we did. One thing led to another & he told me that he was Navajo. I asked him questions & it was a delight to hear about his culture & the fact that he started learning early in life what's important & what's not. Lots of young people don't feel that way. I told him that no matter what, never, ever forget where his roots are planted. No matter what people may say to him to always hold true to his culture's ways. Now a days, in a world that some parents do not teach their children the "right" way to be, it's a blessing to hear about Marion's life. I hope the powers to be, at the Lodge, appreciate the fact that I, a returning guest, enjoyed my experience with Marion as the one who checked me in. Please let him know about this review. I'm sure it will warm his heart & make him feel great. My fiancé and I recently stayed here during our trip to the Grand Canyon. We drove in from Los Angeles, so we had a decently long drive. There's no valet at all, but the parking lot is pretty small so you're close to the front door from any parking spot. The front desk made our arrival super easy and fast. The hotel is pretty dated. It's definitely nothing to be impressed by, but their prices were pretty good which is why we stayed here. The next morning our car was totally under snow. The crew offered cleaning supplies for us to get as much snow off the car as possible which really came in handy. If you're not expecting to stay at the best place but still want to be close to the Grand Canyon, I'd definitely recommend this place. read more

I'd give them 5 stars, if it weren't for the price of the room. $270 a night for a basic 2 double bed room just makes it a bit tough to swallow. We found ourselves without a place to stay for a night, in the middle of rim camping & back country permit reservations. We headed down out of the park & Tusayan aka Grand Canyon Village is the first stop. We wanted to be close, as we needed to hit Bright Angel trail at sunrise. We stood in line mid-day, to check on getting a reservation for the next night. The options were the hotel @ $270 or motel @ $170 and that was with a AAA discount. We were splitting the tab and had a few nights ahead sleeping on dirt, so we splurged. Free ice, the room was incredibly clean, the beds were very comfortable. We even had a clear view of our parked vehicle. They provide extra blankets (brown, thank goodness), I was sweating unloading my pack & gear on the ultra white bedspread & sheets. It was really quiet & peaceful. Staff were very nice. There's a small pool & hot tub. Keurig machine in the room & a fridge. We had a very nice stay & even got to our trailhead 5 minutes early the next morning. read more

We thought we were staying in the more modern hotel, but were in the attached older motel. It is a bit old and tired. In fact the one chair in the room was broken and they immediately replaced it, to their credit. I guess the going rate of over $200 a night is the norm. but a tough pill to swallow. My husband & I stayed at this Lodge but knowing that my husband booked the motel not the hotel. I had reservations about staying here when I knew we were going to stay in the motel. However, to my surprise it was clean, comfortable bed f& pillows. Clean bathroom & shower. It's a little outdated with their furniture but overall a good place to stay. The only problem that I saw for others is that the motel doesn't have elevators so it not handicapped accessible. There are only stairs to get to the 2nd floor. read more

I quite enjoyed my stay at the Red Feather Lodge. I stayed here for one night in the motel section. I am moving from California to Texas so I booked this hotel for my road trip. The motel parking lot had security cameras which I appreciated as my car was full of my belongings. The area is conveniently close to the South Rim (a short 9 mile drive) and it really feels like the Grand Canyon is in your backyard! I felt so fortunate to have made the decision to stay here as i got really excited about visiting the canyon and being so close made it easy to spend a lot of time there. You have to drive an hour through a pine forest to get here, which is a wonderful dose of nature. I would definitely recommend staying here over Williams, which seems like a much busier and touristy town. The motel room itself was clean and well maintained. Water and ice were available in the hotel lobby, which is in a separate building. I appreciated that the shampoo and conditioner were personal sized as well. The shower water smelled odd and the water pressure was pretty bad, but this makes sense since they have to pump the water from North Rim. There is no hotel breakfast but there is complimentary coffee and tea. The coffee was good quality. I'd recommend bringing your own food as the food selection in Tusayan seems to be pretty minimal. Kind of disappointing because I found hairs on the pillow cases, and a gross poop, urine, or blood stain on the toilet seat. The room wasn't cleaned properly, but it's close to The Grand Canyon. Next time I'll probably try a different place due to this incident. I wished hotels would actually clean their rooms properly. Such as disinfecting everything properly so, I don't have to always have disinfectant wipes with me. Giving 2 stars because at the least they didn't have bed bugs. read more
