Ordered 4 "dumplings", pop corn chicken, crab Rangoon, and sticky rice with mango. The only thing that wasn't too disappointing was the sticky rice with mango. Parking was easy to miss. The food was subpar and the dumplings tasted putrid. Overpriced and definitely tailored to the locals of Bend. Not worth the disappointment. The quality to price ratio is trash. read more

Yum!!! This is a great cheap eats place. For $8 you can get a couple of dumplings to satisfy your hunger. They have 3 sauces you can put on your dumplings as well. The pad Thai dumpling is delicious with the peanut sauce. Make sure to try to dessert dumpling. Most beers are only $5 for a pint too. Let me explain... I'm in the area 2 days a year. After hearing about this place I felt I needed to try it, they have dumplings after all. Had just finished a 16 hour shift and rolled in about 8:15. Ordered 2 each of the meat dumplings and a dessert dumpling. Then I noticed they had lamb. I say let me have a lamb skewer also.. the nice lady suggests I get the 2 skewer as it works out a better deal. All about saving (and at 3 or 4 bucks a dumpling who wouldn't!) I ordered to go. Thinking I had a bag with 4 meat dumplings , 1 dessert dumpling and 2 lamb skewers...alas not the case. What I found was 2 meat, 1 dessert and a single skewer...how depressing. Perhaps I will have time tomorrow before heading out to get my other skewer. Probably not. On to the food lol! The Chinese meat dumpling had an overpowering flavor of ginger or some other spice. Meat was flavorless. The lamb was absolutely amazing!! Why oh why did you short me?!? The Char sui dumplings was amazing as well (perhaps not $4 amazing, but I'd do it again) The dessert dumpling...the guts of it was delicious but when wrapped in a think flavorless dumpling dough was not a treat...even when covering it in the grey sauce stuff. Sorry not my usual review style, but feeling jilted on that lamb as well as still hungry. read more

We waited in line for a long time for these dumplings, they were huge that is for sure! I wasn't super impressed with the pad Thai dumpling, lots of rice noodles and bun dough made it just a little too filling and settled like a weight in my tummy. The pizza one though was amazing! Next time will have to try another flavor and see if it's more to my liking. Definitely huge portions, and unique flavors, a fun food cart though for sure. Late night Cravings? Need something delicious to shove into your face? Well boy-o is this the place for you. Easily found in Downtown Bend, or a plethora of Music Festivals this place has sustained me for years. My fondest memories definitely come from WTF (what the festival). Where these bandits would ensure that I survived those long nights on the high plateau. My favorite is the Pad Thai dump with extra peanut sauce. Being a heathen I would typically just put the nozzle of the squirt bottle into the dumpling and squeeze that deliciousness all inside until nice and plump (not sure if this is typical, but It makes it easier to eat on the go.) Good food, However...if you're looking for chinese dumplings, don't go here. The food is flavorful and savory. But it is not chinese dumplings. It is americanized dumplings. Not at all mandarin. Bottom line, good tasting food but certainly not mandarin dumplings. read more

For me it's a NO ! Sorry but my husband and I had 6 dumplings between us and neither of us found the quality worth finishing. My Pad Thai had a really overpowering spice in it that made it unpleasant. The BBQ pork was ok but also flavor a bit odd. The other really disappointing part of the experience is the dumplings were thick and doughy. Not at all like a good Chinese dumpling. The place has a cool Bend vibe so we were fine with that. I think they need to keep working on their flavor profiles for each filling and certainly on the dumpling itself. We will wait a few months to before we go back because if they get it right then we will happily give them our business. read more

The staff was super nice but the pad Thai dumpling was really terrible. The pork dumpling filling was a bit better, although the dough was not great. One of the dumplings was visibly shriveled and tough on the outside, and they still served it. The spring rolls and mushroom lemongrass wontons were underwhelming and bland. I feel bad giving a one star review. This restaurant provides jobs and I think negative reviews negatively affect their business and consequently the prosperity of the employees (and owners). But, I have to say that the food at Dump City Dumpling is not worth buying. Before our visit to Bend, my wife and I learned that this restaurant had been featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. We decided to try it out even though they did not serve Xiao Long Bao (chinese soup dumpling)- one of our favorite foods. But, there were good reviews of their Pad Thai dumpling. We tried the "Pad Thai", "Chinese Style" and a daily special "Cordon Bleu". The Pad Thai dumpling was the worst- the filling was a purple mush with no flavor. The Chinese Style dumpling did have some flavor but it was not good. The Cordon Bleu dumpling was the best but was only mediocre. The supplied sauces did not do much to improve the flavor. read more

As of 9/29/18 Beware...... if you're craving really late night food, don't go to the brick and mortar restaurant located at 384 terrace drive!!!! Yelp has it open from 10pm to 3am. Found out they have a separate food cart down town that's open till late. Their Facebook page has has wrong info as well. I met up with my son there to enjoy dumplings together at 10:30pm, but wasn't to be. Will try the place the next time I'm in town. I've told the restaurant about the problem and hopefully corrections a Will be made soon. Note: the two star rating refers to my annoyance from this experience, and not the food of course. I saw this restaurant featured on diners, drive-ins and dives, and made note to visit it next time I was in that area. Everything on the menu looked delicious and our table ordered $90 worth of dumplings, salads and bites. The first item I tried was the cucumber salad, we actually had ordered two. It was so salty that my tongue and mouth were tingling like they had been quick pickled--and to be clear, I am a person who loves salt. I tried the green salad that was made with very fresh ingredients that looked appealing, but it was covered in the same overly salty dressing that was inedible. I had the wontons, which were just OK, and dumplings in the miso broth, which again was extremely salty. We had the Pad Thai dumplings, and the mushroom Kung Pao dumplings. The pad Thai dumplings, had a sticky purple filling that was nothing like pad Thai. The Kung Pao dumplings had mushrooms with waterlogged peanuts inside that were disgusting. I Literally could not even choke it down. I've never had an experience like this, especially on a restaurant featured on triple D, but, I left, shaking my head at the whole experience. read more

Not sure what type of food they are serving but it's not Asian and IMO not worth the price.

The dumplings are so flavorful and fresh. We had the teriyaki chicken, the pork, the pizza and the pad Thai. Pad Thai was definitely the fave! The service was fast and friendly. Definitely will hit this place again the next time we r in Bend! read more

This spot was a little weird for us. It's in an odd location that is more like a business building than shopping or retail where you traditionally find restaurants. The service was friendly and they had some interesting beers on tap, but they have a very small menu with just a few selections of dumplings. If you go there expecting to eat a meal you may be disappointed. The dumplings were ok but I can't say they blew us away at all. The beef stew one was my favorite and the rest were just ok to me. What I did like was that they had board games available to play so we enjoyed a game of sorry while we waited with our kids. I would love to see this business add a traditional Chinese style pork dumpling and a little more variety on the menu so you could make a meal of it. read more

The cute little buns were great! The pizza dumpling was just the right amount of salty and gooey, the pad Thai perfect with a wee bit of sriracha. Overall excellent food! Only negative is the person behind the counter (Casey). She wasn't rude but also ONLY did the literal minimum. We asked for the WIFI password which she didn't know but she just said "I don't know it" and didn't bother to ask any of the other folks working (we eventually did). Another couple there at the same time asked to taste one of the sauces for sale and instead of bringing them some she made it seem like they had to buy it to put it on their dumpling they just bought? WTF--they had to argue with her and she finally brought the sauce. I don't need anyone to do heroics...but basic customer SERVICE should not be too much to ask for. read more

Super Bland We ordered 2 pad thai dumplings and after eating half of 1 we asked the cashier if we could get the Chinese pork dumpling instead. It was also very bland. I would stay away from their food cart (unless it's 3am and you're stumbling around downtown) and go to the restaurant where I can smother the dumplings in sauces to give them some flavor. read more
