What we got was 2 movers arriving nearly 3 hours late. Apparently even when we asked for the first appointment of the day, they still managed to book someone else before us. When you have a small window to move 3 hours makes a huge difference and has a frustrating domino effect on everything. Not the worst experience, but also not the best.

As easy as they make it sound on all of those downloadable 'Plan Your Move' checklists you find online, all I could think about were all the horror stories I'd heard from friends and colleagues over the years about stuff getting broken, things going missing or in one case, not delivered at all! I contacted several companies for estimates, I'm not sure how many there were in total but most never responded or their websites didn't work so I guess that made it easy to rule them out ; ) Of the companies that I did receive responses from, QMM immediately made themselves the obvious choice and I'm very happy to leave a review for them here. Before even reaching out for estimates, I was concerned that since I was only a one-bedroom apartment , that this would put me at the bottom of the priorities pile. However, when I spoke to QMM on an initial phone call, I was surprised at the time they took to ask me questions, explain their process of how they generate price estimates and even how to go about wrapping/protecting certain furniture items as well as how they usually help with wrapping and packing different types of items so they don't get damaged. I received a detailed price estimate based on the list of items I told them I would be moving the next day as promised. From the time I went forward with the estimate to the time when the movers came on moving day, I had a dedicated contact who kept me in the loop on the move date and times, on what I needed to do paper work-wise (as I was moving from the NYC to Vancouver, Canada) and everything in-between. The day of the move was as stressful as I ever could have imagined but the guys were so friendly and professional and they took great care with all my stuff. At this point I told myself 'ok don't get too excited something could still go wrong!' Per the updates from my QMM contact, the truck rolled up at my new place exactly on-time. The guys who delivered here were super nice and got all my stuff into the house awesomely fast and organized - and everything accounted for. I know this is a long review but when I was searching for companies to contact the reviews really helped me in my research so I hope that this will help someone else. I can't recommend QMM and the whole team there enough. Everyone I came in contact on the phone or in person was awesome and I would not hesitate to call them again.

Attempted fraud. They charged me packing, shuttle and transport fees based on "actual weight of…read more4300 lbs" and when I contacted them to say that I knew my goods could not possibly weigh that much, said they would not release my goods until I paid $6000USD in full. After I paid in full, they admitted the shipment actually weighed 3700 lbs, and offered to refund a small portion of the transport fee only. Their "full service" was supposed to include certain of my items being clearly labeled and put aside for my quick access, but this never happened. I had paid a lot of money to have those items sorted and put into a separate pile for this purpose. Their accounting department made multiple mistakes that cost me over $260USD in bank fees, for which they only offered to reimburse $130. They arranged to have my car transported, and it arrived damaged, for which I had to submit a claim. My attempts at resolving the situation only resulted in a rude email from them stating they would make "no further adjustments to my invoice," other than deducting the $130 bank fees.

I didn't hire this moving company but it was booked by the home owners (where I was watching 3 cats…read moreover Christmas break). The piano was booked by the home owners for a piano pick up, storage & the delivery... The delivery is where I became involved in the saga of a piano move. In my books, just this first part of the saga earned the two guys (Justin & Jordan) a 10/5 stars (seriously- these guys did everything they could to make this happen, utilized all their tricks of the trade with their very long careers working with this moving company). The guys showed up in the morning (& had confirmation on the date of the delivery by the home owners) were told there was no stairs when the move was booked. We commiserated on the home owners "communication skills." As the layout of the place was a very odd split level (& a huge workout to even just bringing in smaller items). They also didn't know the home owners were not at home for this delivery. So this added to the level of unknown for both them & myself (as "extra fun" part to this story, the home owners also didn't tell me anything about a piano delivery, nor that it magically would show up the same day I was exiting from their housesit). Needless to say, I had 3 very stressed out cats needing to be rounded up. This of course was after the most confusing start of move. The convo of is this even the right house for a delivery kind of banter. Even with all the confusion & understandable frustration being that they sent their other two movers ahead to the next location (this delivery was in PoCo & they were sent ahead to prepare for the next delivery in downtown Vancouver) with the equipment. This meant these two guys had to handle moving a piano up stairs without the regular amount of guys or equipment. Yet they were professional, laud down carpet, protection items and did everything they could minus wave a magic wand to get that piano into the house. They got it up 4 entry stairs & into the house (I'm sure if the door could of been removed from the hinges that would of greatly helped but alas, no home owners & no pre-move prep...), pivoted in a very awkward entry & made it up a whole bunch more stairs (that have a weird curve to them), pivoted again in a limited space & navigated the very large space taking furniture to reach the random location selected by the fireplace (location as per home owners request when they did confirm the piano was theirs). They did this after moving the home owners' recently delivered & very heavy boxes out of the way & also moving all furniture that could cause issues out of the way. Plus took time trying to fit it back again (as not only the home owners didn't communicate about this delivery, but they didn't even have their layout of their furniture prepared for that delivery). The guys were also very patient waiting to start the move inside until I got all 3 of the very stressed cats rounded up (not a fast process & were very much against being locked up, let alone picked up without an invite, being held while I walked, plus carried down significant amount of stairs with this lady using a cane while the cats were trying to wiggle & claw their escape - one was successful & process had to be repeated meaning they waited even longer to bring the piano inside). From the story pieces I patched together about the piano moving before I got involved, was that it was a free piano that was picked up (with what sounded like the same level of home owner communication skills that I highlighted above). Piano made it to storage. This was just prior to their Christmas travels. Piano delivery was apparently planned & attempted the day before (not sure if that was by phone or in-person but somehow this company got confirmation to deliver when the home owners weren't yet home & on the same day I was leaving). I mentioned the amount of much effort the two guys (Justin & Jordan) went through to both of the home owners & multiple times as I was leaving their home. I stressed they should give them a 5 star review immediately for all that effort. Seeing that it is not on the company page (and I'm not going to take time combing through other review platforms), I'm writing this review to let others know how amazing of movers this company are. I'm beyond impressed they can still compete the job even with lack of details provided, less equipment & 2 less bodies. I do suggest to the company that they request photos of entry & area into home where piano will be delivered if they can't confirm the home owners will be at their place when delivery is planned. As it shouldn't be up to the movers to magically save the day & risk hurting themselves (I helped move 2 pianos in my lifetime, both were extremely heavy & took much more than 2 people to do so). Again, very impressed these 2 guys got it into the home & with all the complications added just makes it that much more impressive.

I have been meaning to write about how great these guys were for a while - but life happens. Anyway…read more- here we go. We needed a relatively straightforward local move, only 5 blocks, in fact, from one condo to another. I called about a dozen places and received ridiculous estimates from many of them ($1,600 for a 5 hour job? Really??). Ezmoov gave the lowest estimate and there appeared to be no hidden fees. Communication with Andry was clear, timely and straightforward. I was a bit nervous, because there weren't many reviews and the price just seemed too good. On the day, however, the guys turned up on time, in a nice truck and not obviously hungover (it happens!). They did a fantastic job, with no complaining or messing around. On top of that, they were both really nice and interesting guys, so I even had a good conversation into the bargain! The estimate turned out to be virtually spot on, nothing was damaged, payment was easy and it turned out to be the smoothest move we have ever had (there have been too many...). All this for a third of the cost of their competitors. I can not recommend this company highly enough. If you have any doubts, feel free to message me. You can absolutely trust this company.
