I love some of the merchandise but today I went to take advantage of their Black Friday sale. I got there at 10 am and the store was a disaster of organization. Never have I seen such a disorganized display of merchandise-given I thought they remodeled. Shame on the management of this store. I bought some jeans because I had a co-worker recommend them but had seen reviews of people saying the fabric rips. When I was buying them, I specifically asked about this problem and if it was covered under their warranty and told yes. Well, turns out that was just a deceptive statement because when I went to return the jeans because of the same rip the reviews described, they stated it was normal wear and tear and they could offer a 30% discount on a new pair. Save yourself the trouble and just get cheaper jeans somewhere else - you get the same quality and probably better customer service. read more

Wow---they sure do have some nice stuff but you better bring a lot of cash if you want to purchase some of it. I really love the merchandise and the quality of it but as my husband said 21.00 for one pair of underwear it better come with a hand attached inside of it to make it worth it. They have free hot beverages for you to enjoy while you are browsing the store and all kinds of great stuff for the men on your gift list. The ladies section is not as large but they have some nice stuff too. They are running a 12 days of Christmas special right now so every day they have something new on discount. A store that is more male oriented but the gals will have plenty to choose from. The overall marketing appeals to men with a touch of humor and clothes labeling, "plumbers butt covered"! "Buck Naked". There is a little more variety and their trademark material known as "Firehose" could be a conversation piece at the next social gathering. Others have complained about the prices but I found them on the same level as similar stores and paid $42.00 for a tapered burgundy shirt that would be in the $50-$60 range at other stores. The newly designed Duluth Trading leather work gloves are really nice. I've been using them for a couple of months now and they're still holding up! I stop in here every 2 months or so. I love the longtail tshirts so you dont have plumbers butt when wearing low rise jeans. Ive had issues with detergent not getting out on 2 shirts. They gladly returned them. The Prices are high and huge markup Thats why you get 4/5 stars. I like the rubber furminator that removes pet hair. I have purchased from Duluth for years and now have a retail store quite close to my current residence. The products are largely great. The garments, in the past, have had trouble with fading. But they are marketed as work wear, so fine. The shipping is horrible. Even in the past, when I had no retail store, it took a very long time to get things. If it is xmas and you have not ordered by the first week of December, do not bother. It is a crapshoot if you will get it. I recently ordered a boardgame from them. Supposedly the store had it within a day. Now I had just been to the store and they told me they did not have one. I assumed some kind of hold back in the local stock to keep the online customers happy. Further, their website told me they had it. Next day pickup in store. Two days later I get a note saying sorry, they made a mistake, they did not have it, and canceled the order. They did not ask to ship one, they did not ask if I wanted to wait the 4-7 days to ship to the store, they just flat canceled it. Fine. I look around for it other places. I order it from Amazon. They loose it. So now I'm feeling like this item somehow has a curse surrounding it. So back to Duluth figuring I would just remove the delivery monkeys from the equation. It tells me it will be in the store for pickup in 4-7days. I order it. That was Jan 3. It is now Jan 7, four days have past, they have three more and the order still shows "Pending". No change. No "it was shipped". No "it's on it's way". Under estimated delivery date it still says 4-7 days. So Still 4-7 days? As four have already past, and we add a minimum another four that would be eight. Now I realize I am being pedantic here, but if you can not even update the order status you get what you get. A further observation. I did go back to the brick and mortar store several times during the holiday season. I went as recently as yesterday to see if the item was back on the shelf and I could just cancel the order. I am not sure they have received or restocked anything since anything since before xmas. If you got a Duluth gift card for xmas, good luck. Apparently you will get your fleece in time for spring. It appears their issues may be one of lousy overall logistics and not just shipping. I know they are not Amazon, with a shipping hubs and warehouses scattered all over the globe, but we are not (primarily) phoning in orders from a paper catalog any more either. My last visit here was two years ago and I thought the prices were a little high. Both my son and husband like the quality of the socks and underwear from this company. I have to say that the items we purchased from two years have held up quite well. This store/ company has so much to offer in the way of casual, active clothing and footwear. I like looking at the variety of miscellaneous items they offer; such as tick pullers, work gloves, lip balm, poison ivy soap, etc. I confess to purchasing a casual dress (on sale) and some of the ladies underwear they offer. I think my problem is I like their merchandise, but my wallet doesn't. The store has very friendly sales staff. Top quality merchandise with a fantastic guarantee! Nearly everything I have bought from Duluth Trading Company has been top notch, and when it hasn't been, they have taken care of me. I have many of their long-tail t-shirts, buck naked underwear, and a couple of jackets and in all cases, they are my favorites. As a tall guy, I really appreciate their long tail tshirts. Finally a high quality tshirt with the right length! I have their cotton & polyester versions and both are great. The "buck naked" underwear truly is the most comfortable I own. I always make sure i wear them when I know I'll have a day of heavy activity, be it pheasant hunting, deer hunting, going to the state fair, or working around the yard. It handles the sweat and keeps me cool. One time on a cold and windy day I wanted to test their Shoreman's Fleece Jacket by wearing it outside for awhile. I explained what I wanted to do and even offered to let them keep my drivers license while I did so. No need, they said, go ahead and try it. I tested that jacket and it is now my favorite fleece jacket. One time I bought a big rubber dog toy. I asked about the durability because my lab loves to chew through just about anything. They told me it should hold up, but if not, they have a no bull guarantee. Unfortunately, the toy lasted just 3 weeks before my dog had the ends chewed off. I took what remained, brought it in, and had NO problems getting my money back. They offered to give me a replacement or my money. On first glance the prices might seem high, but these is high quality merchandise that will last a LONG time and they have a fantastic return policy that will give you piece of mind. This review is for the online version of Duluth, so I cannot comment on the service at the Minneapolis, MN store. I have never had a problem with customer service. They have always been friendly and helpful. My husband loves the underwear and has bought many pairs from there, as well as a couple of shirts and pants. I started to buy clothes from the women's catalog after a suggestion from the woman who runs Fresh Eggs Daily. If you are a woman who works a blue collar job, takes care of livestock or just needs something to wear while gardening or stacking firewood, this is the place for you. I love flannel shirts and have not found anything that fits me as well as their free swingin' flannel. I also have their free swinging flannel jacket and other clothing items that have saved me from this terrible winter. I have not bought their pants yet, so I cannot comment on those fit for women. The tops are soft, warm, comfortable and made for a woman's curves. I am very happy with all of my purchases from Duluth. If you shop online, make sure to get a free shipping code before checking out. I lost mine one time, but CS gave me a new one to use, no questions asked. I've been buying from the online or catalog for 10 years when the offerings were more centered on the trades. I'm trhilled with the expansion into casual clothing - even biz casual. The store in Bloomington is my go to place. It's dangerous! The catalog was bad enough, but now I grab too much walking by. I'm hard to fit sometimes so I like being able to drive in and try without having to worry about shipping back. Even though DT makes shipping super easy and very fast (here in Mpls), it's nice to just go and try and get the right size the first time. I don't even shop for clothes anywhere else now. The improved breadth and depth of biz casual clothes makes it easy for me to find what I need for anything from a customer site visit all the way to a conference room meeting. Naturally, I always find a new tool or gadget for my workshop too. Great store. Great staff. Great products. I own dozens of Duluth Trading products from tools and shop gear like the aprons and bags, all the way through business casual clothing. My favorite items are the buck naked underwear and t-shirts. Those are the staples. I'll never buy anything else as long as they keep making it. I'm also 6'3" + so the longtail tees are must. Most t-shirts - even XXL - are always too short. I can't imagine why other clothing sellers haven't figured this out. Even my 6-foot tall 7th grader with the size 14 shoes is starting to see the benefits of the Duluth Trading sizing for not just the big - but the tall too. You don't need a specialty B&T shop as long as Duluth Trading keeps doing what they are dointg I have other favorites staples too including the leather AWOL bag and several of the firehose and travel sport coats. The clothing doesn't wear out soon. I've had DT items that have outlasted other clothes from Cabela's and Eddie Bauer and they still look new after years with care. I bought a shirt that was on clearance ended up still being $25 from $60 (clearance is located near the back of the store) seems like good quality and would hold up but only time will tell. If you are a man, you need to check this place out. If you are not a man, or are a male pretending to be a man, I am reasonably sure they can help you out as well. I have upgraded my baselayer stuff for when I want to walk around and kill things in cold weather. I have upgraded my underwear, and you should too. The ballroom jeans (chuckle if you must, but if you don't, you know why these were made, and should get some) are majestic. Even the socks are great. They sell something called a ninja suit. I bought one, it is excellent. If you need the world's toughest pants, you can buy them here. A cautionary note, things here are not inexpensive, but if you are a man, you work for a living, and this should not be a problem. If you are a lady attached to a man, you should lavish him with items from this store. The staff knows the products, and I have yet to come remotely close to any claim not being fulfilled by any product they sell. They have vintage toys, an assortment of edged tools, first aid stuff, including trauma kits, because sometimes men do things that lead to trauma. The changing rooms have railroad spikes for hangers. They sell the Duke Cannon line of soaps, which are not a Duluth Trading Company original product, though they do belong in the store, and deserve their own review. These soaps "smell like" Accomplishment, Productivity, Victory, and Naval Supremacy. There is also a pumice-laden hand soap. Hand soap containing projectile-vomit from a freaking VOLCANO!!! These are "Big-Ass Bricks" of soap. They do not fit in a normal soap dish, so make your own! The "smells like" bricks contain something called "steel cut oats," which I believe to be a typo. I think these are oats strong enough to have cut steel, and have been retired to be a soap ingredient. You may finish your shower with scratches, which is okay, and probably normal, because if you are a man, you probably have a barbed wire back scrubber already. My wife refers to this process as something called "exfoliation," which she claims is a good thing. The Duke Cannon website is a hoot for nonmen, and for men, it is informative. Dress like a lumberjack for fun, because you are a lumberjack, or because you like to hunt bears with an axe? This is the store for you! Feeling low on testosterone? A trip to Duluth Trading Company can fix that. Ladies, take your man here, and he will likely do something nice for you, I know I did for my lovely wife. Though this review reads like a cartoon, it is not intended as such. The products sold here are useful, super-durable, and have a purpose and mission that they _WILL_ accomplish. We went in with our three kids and were watched suspiciously throughout our visit. At one point I was trying on hats (I've been looking to buy a good one all summer) after moving around staff members talking to each other I had to ask them to excuse me so I could get to the hats. Ordered their jeans which cost $ 10 more than Levis. I was disappointed to learn they were made in the 3rd world and the fabric feels like it is not 100% cotton--feels like poly/cotton blend. Inseams are longer than they state and the bottoms are flared like jeans back in the 1970s. Waste of money. This company is nothing but made up marketing hype. I bought (on-line) 2 shirts to try out and loved them so much I ordered a few more. However, after the first washing, I noticed the pilling, just a little, start to form. This does not make me happy. Maybe this will go away with ironing, but I HATE to iron, so again, this will not make me happy. One reviewer (Sean G.) was right-on--shop elsewhere to save money on clothing that doesn't last longer than a season. One reason I liked the idea of Duluth Trading Company was the length of their t-shirts (I meant to say the shirts I ordered were the T-shirt variety, not button-ups). My wife and I were visiting relatives a couple weeks ago and decided to stop in at a Duluth Trading Company, ergo this review. We spent several hundred dollars at the Bloomington store; we were very impressed with the customer focus and help we received during the entire experience. Fast forward a couple weeks and I found myself ordering more clothing on their website. Within a few minutes of making that second purchase the button suspenders I had purchased in Minnesota a couple weeks before blew out an eyelet. Okay, I said, let's test their "No Bull" warranty in action. I immediately emailed their customer service with a photo and the very next morning received a response telling me I would be receiving a new pair of suspenders and to not worry about returning the defective pair. I rarely write reviews...used to wear Carhart cargo pants for years but always wore holes thru in a few months. No warrantee either..since trying the Duluth trading men's ultimate fire hose cargo work pants item 95209 for the last 2 years there is no going back . They hold up to wear and tear, look great even with knee pads left in. They have 11 pockets, very handy. the addition of neoprene kneepads item 85522 make these pants a no brainer they are terrific. My son has switched his pants to these after seeing how they hold up and look. Fyi you Don't have to take knee pads out for the washing machine. I worked road construction and surveying for years. It was HELL to find a nice looking, comfortable, breathable work shirts and good tough pants. As a girl I was not a target market it seemed. I love the cloths at Duluth Trading. It is great to have the store in MN so I can go and try things on and get the right size the first time. I have really fair skin and have to wear long sleeves all summer, their new ARMAChillo Shirts are great. The staff at the store have been so helpful each time. So I really don't know what to make of these people. Both my GF and I ordered some of their products and we like their products but their service and follow through really sucks. First, my story. I placed a pretty big order with them and one of the things I ordered was the Wild Boar Leather Mocs. Well I go the suede ones instead but was charged for the leather. Called them up had to wait a bit of time to speak to a second person that could give me a credit on the difference and that told me that I could send the product I got back and they would send the correct product. I told them that I had already worn them. It's muddy here so I thought that would not be right, at which point this person should have offered me something like a discount on my next order or a coupon or something. Nothing! They said they were happy to give me credit and have a nice weekend. We will see if I get the credit. On my GF's order it's a bit more complicated. She ordered me some underwear with the Christmas stripes. They ran out so instead of emailing her they simply cancelled the order and noted that it was cancelled by the customer. So when I called them I had to argue with them that she did not cancelled until they finally admitted that their computer system will cancel an order if they run out of stock on a product that will not get back ordered and mark the ordered customer cancelled. So my take, decent products but they are no LL Bean or Cabela's. Not sure if I would order again it's a shame but I expected something in exchange for my time and the hassle. Too bad!!! I discovered this company by doing a search for "women's work belts" and this awesome authentic looking belt from Duluth Trading popped up in the images search. They were made in the USA, had leather from a 100+ year old Chicago company, and a simple yet beautiful brass buckle. They did a great job modeling it on a girl with fall season clothing so I had to buy her outfit too. I bought two different colored belts for my new job and they look way nicer than a designer belt that could go for $200. These belts were $50 each and well worth it for the craftsmanship, durability, and eternal style. The prices are definitely reasonable for the quality. The quality shouldn't be compared to Walmart quality. The tops I bought seem well made except they are made in a 3rd world. At least they have a nice look and are durable. If they didn't have the model dressed like she was at fall harvest, I wouldn't have bought the tops but I am a sucker for cozy fall season style. I do have to say I agree with one post on here about this company being all about marketing and not so much substance. That is where we as a consumer can't have blind trust. I pick and choose what items I really like. If the item says imported in the description, well that means they are ashamed to say where it is really made. I have to make the choice if I want spend my money supporting who knows what. At least they provide returns in case the item turns out to be a disaster. Also, know that if you want certain items like jeans made in the USA, that you will pay a lot more for a nice pair due to the overhead it costs just to have the facilities in the US. Sometimes it is worth it for a good pair that will last at least five years or more. Some of the companies even provide mending and repair when the jeans start getting too worn. Imogene + Willie is one of these companies and 7 For All Mankind (except I've noticed some of their jeans are now imported). It takes research and good choices. read more

I've never bought anything from Duluth Trading Company that was anything less than absolutely top quality. I've had to return two products (neither was defective, just the wrong choice) and it was effortless. True story: I "went commando" since the 70s (women burned their bras back then, so it seemed like underwear was considered oppressive or something). About five years ago I saw an ad for DTC's "Buck Naked Underwear." I ordered a pair, for special occasions. I now own 22 pairs, and the only time I don't wear underwear is when I shower. They're that good. "No sweat. No stink. No pinch." They should have added "wears like iron." (Get on DTC's mailing list. I got them all for about half price.) Same deal with their "Armachillo" cooling wear. I didn't believe it, so I ordered a shirt and hat to try. I now own six Armachillo shirts, 3 pairs of shorts and the hat. IT WORKS! It actually keeps you MUCH cooler! The shirts are so well-designed and well-made I know they'll last a lifetime, and again, by taking advantage of sales I've only paid about half price for anything. DTC is one of my favorite companies. Only LL Bean and Land's End can come close to matching their quality and return policies, and DTC has a lot of unique products that you can't get anywhere else. read more

I would love to be able to rate in store and online separately. In store, consistently, the staff have been wonderful, informative, polite and helpful. Plus they honor the online sales, which is a plus. Online, however, their customer service is pathetic. I placed an order and it evidently got lost. Called and spoke with a very kind helpful person who told me they had no idea why it didn't get shipped, it was in the warehouse, she would see to it that it would be shipped that day overnight so that I could have it next day. I thought that was most kind. It didn't show up the next day, so I called again to check, and the customer service person told me she could track it (usually they send an email to give a tracking #...I never got one.). She told me that it was at the post office for delivery tomorrow. I told her that I had been told it would come UPS next day, and she told me that "sometimes UPS takes it to the post office if they think it can get there quicker." I told her that she was wrong....if it's UPS next day, it goes UPS all the way, and it should have a UPS next day shipping label on it. She told me the tracking label was for next day (a LIE). It came in the regular mail the next day, with a UPS surepost label on it. Not overnight. So I contacted customer service, explaining what had happened, and asking why I had been lied to twice (once that it was being sent overnight, and the second time that it was labeled overnight). I got a canned response that they received my post, and if a response was needed, they'd get back to me promptly. I never got a reply. Obviously they just don't care. I'm glad they have a store within 2 hours of me, if I need something I'll just go there, but no more online buys. read more

Too expensive for their intended market, bottom line is the cost. I am a plumber with my own company. I am exactly the kind of person they cater too. I can't afford to these cloths when I am underneath peoples house all day in all kinds of muck. And still charge a reasonable rate. I have a closet full of old clothes when they become damaged and it happens often. Maybe if you're the guy who owns his own new home construction company and drives around in 70k pickup then these are your clothes. But for guys who work for a living, these are too expensive.
