This season, the Minnesota Wild released a retro clothing and accessories line. The yellow and lime colours (think Sprite, the soft drink) in their line are a throwback to the colours that once were a part of the Minnesota North Stars jerseys. At first, I was indifferent. I then got a retro Wild t-shirt that was more green than yellow and I love it. I recently was looking for a retro Wild cap. Naturally, I was late to the party. The Hockey Lodge, where I normally get my Wild apparel, didn't have any. I did a search online and found that Dick's Sporting Goods did. Most folks can order online and pick up their order at a specified store. Because I am not an American with a physical U.S. address and an American credit card, I can't do it. Instead, I looked online and found that this store in Richfield had four retro caps available. Yay! I drove over to this store on a Monday night. It was roughly a ten-minute drive from where I was staying in Bloomington. There was a ton of parking. I parked and walked into the store. This Dick's store is huge. Luckily, there was a male staffer when I first walked in, greeting everyone. "Hello! Is there anything that I can help you with?" he asked me. "Hi! Yes. I'm looking for a retro Minnesota Wild cap," I said. "You want to go up the escalator, turn left, and walk straight ahead until you see the Wild section," he said. "Thanks so much!" I replied and followed his instructions. He saved me a ton of time. This store has two floors. I would have walked the entire first floor before heading up to the second floor to find what I was looking for. He was a saint in Dick's apparel. His directions were perfect. I found the Wild section and the cap that I wanted. The colours matched my retro t-shirt. The cap was adjustable for my big noggin. I loved it. I'm not sure if I want a retro Wild jersey. I invested in a jersey from last year's winter classic. I love that one so much that I don't really need another one. I loved walking around this store, relieved that I found what I was looking for. I don't have any Twins or Timberwolves attire. I still don't. I didn't see anything that I wanted. This store has a nice selection of Crocs. Sadly, I didn't find a purple pair in my size. What was cool was seeing Birkenstocks in EVA material, which makes them lightweight and waterproof. On The Jason Show, Jason highly recommended these sandals. You don't need to break into them like you do with traditional Birkenstocks. I found a lavender pair in my size. Yay! My feet felt comfy wearing them in the store. I had to get them. I had the best woman at the cashout area. I couldn't remember whether I had signed up for rewards. She checked and I hadn't. She went ahead and signed me up for free. For my ZIP code, I went with my old Rochester address. "It makes sense that you are shopping here. The Rochester location recently closed," she noted. First, I had no idea that Rochester had a Dick's. Second, I didn't know that it was closed. I do now! I paid with a credit card. All went well. Whenever I shop at Dick's, I simply state my phone number before I paid for my items and I earn points. I had the best experience at this store. I'd return again if I need more Birks or Wild merchandise. (61)

They have almost everything you need for the great outdoors and overall sporting goods. They may have more sporting goods then ever. The place is gigantic! They have a ton of big brands like Yeti, Hydroflask, Nike, The North Face and so many more. They have a large inventory. They have such a large inventory of NordicTrack or Peloton to see them firsthand before ordering.

I frequent this place when in the area. I was greeted quickly by one of the employees upon arrival. Once I found the product I needed, then I noticed only 1 employee working the checkout register while 10-12 other employees were causally standing around. Someone from the store finally noticed and messaged that they needed to open up another register, which took another few minutes to find someone willing to do so. Apparently, they don't have enough trained employees to work the cash register, or no one chose to step up and take care of several of us waiting in line. This was very disappointing.

Another mega-store, this one focusing on sporting goods and apparel. Its a bit difficult to shop due to its size and the amount of merchandise cramming each of the two stories. Try going up the escalator in the center of the store to start out to get the lay of the land - you can come right down again and this will save you some wandering (unless you like that sort of thing). Decent prices on clothes and sporting good with all the brands you know and expect. Service in the shoe area can be a little spotty.

The customer service in fishing/hunting is horrible. Very little acknowledgement that customers are waiting for help!!

Everyone was so kind and helpful, no one was pushy towards the more expensive products, just very factual.

Our son passed away unexpectedly on June 9th and it's been very difficult emotionally for her to do this. I called and spoke to Jacob on Saturday and explained the situation. He said it would be best if I came in first thing on Monday and to ask for him. I came in today and it was the most amazing experience I have ever had at any store. From the first person in customer service, the wonderful manager, other customer service personnel to Jacob and Sean that came down from your fishing department. Your wonderful staff turned this difficult and emotional time into one of the most wonderful experiences that I have had since my son's passing. Cudos to whoever is doing the hiring and training of these beautiful, caring people. I now know why my son loved your store. I wish that I had the names of the other people that helped me this morning to thank them. A special thank you to Sean and Jacob who went above and beyond to help me. Greg

I was looking online to see if they carry converse, as I was looking for a pair of regular black chucks. When I entered the store there were tons of staff all over which is nice to see these days. I browsed the men's section first since the shoes are pretty much the same, I couldn't find them at first so I went across the store over to the women's and couldn't find converse in women's either. I did notice the women's shoes wasn't as busy as the men's. I browsed around a bit (no one greeted me or anything in men's or women's). I did finally find them under a table display and they only had platforms for women's so I went back over to men's to take another look. I did find them and waited for a salesman to assist me. A man walked up (after me) and the shoe he wanted was next to stock room so he was helped right away. I waited and asked for help.. I was told by a rep that he had to go check on some other customers, I kept waiting and being ignored to the point I witnessed reps asking people still looking around if they needed help and finally someone came up to help me, I asked for a 7 (as I'm a 8 1/2, 9 in women's), he came back and told me the smallest size they have is an 8 which is too big. He asked who I was shopping for, I said myself and he asked me what size I wear and I said about a 9 in women's and he said "well this is men's" as if I was blind. Just didn't like the vibes all around.

My son was finally able to ski yesterday with my husband after being medically sidelined for a couple weeks. Anyway, they were on the ski lift after their third run when my son/husband noticed my son's skis were chunking apart all along both skis. My son had not crashed. My son is an advanced but cautious skier and with my husband the entire time. They were at Wild Mountain doing first season runs. Nothing wild about it. Anyway, when they returned I took the skis in as clearly there was a product issue. I was greeted by John in the ski department. I was, undoubtably, frustrated as my son had ski plans for today and starts school ski club Friday. John made a rude comment about me being frustrated and how "kids banging their skis together cause that kind of damage" that immediately put me on defense. My husband and son arrived at 10:45am and I had received a text about the skis falling apart by noon. I again repeated that they had only completed three runs and asked how that was possible my son damaged the skis. John continued to blame my son for the damage. Now my husband is a life long skier, I took skiing up as an adult, and if anyone should have damage to skis it should be me. My husband was floored as to cause as he has never seen skis do this. The manager was brought in and agreed to take the skis back, replace them and bind them (thank you) but that is where the only positive customer service ended. John came back to have me sign a release for mounting and kept going on needing to talk to my son about knocking his skis together (because that is what happened in his opinion) and would not let it go, again and again, even after I again stated this was noted after three runs, first season runs, at Wild. I finally asked John if the entire interaction would have been the same had my husband been standing there instead of me. John continued on. The manager stepped in and told John to give it a rest and he still didn't want to stop. I appreciate the quick turn around help from the manager but the front facing customer service was horrific. Hoigaard's lost a customer last night.
