Called them to confirm package was held for pick up. Phone rang for 5 minutes and they picked up and slammed the receiver back down. Disconnected me twice. This location has a staff with poor attitudes and they just don't seem to care. Shut down the USPS and let the drones bring me my packages and letters. This post office regularly delivers mail incorrectly. Yesterday I received a notice that they had delivered a priority package to me. I checked my mailbox - Nothing, tried to call them, it rings and then goes to a quick busy signal. This is the most inept post office ever. Weekly they miss deliver my mail and give me others (not even people who live near me). Today while waiting for an urgent overnight letter I get a text that they attempted to deliver it. Very odd because I am sitting here watching from my office out the window and NO MAIL person came. I call and these idiots say "yas we's scanded it so it won't show late arrival". Learn to speak properly and stop scamming your customers! THE WORST THING EVER. Not that anybody that is serviced by them has a choice, but since the postmaster at this post office doesn't care AT ALL what is going on there, and the national USPS customer service has yet to return any of my phone calls in the last 5 years, I thought I'd put it out on the internet for a little release, if nothing else. I have been getting the previous owner's mail for 5 years, the post office keeps telling me that's my problem and that it's not a big deal, even though the previous owners owe everyone and their brother money, so creditors will look up their known address and contact me. I've even had lawyers calling my CELL PHONE for them. They got my number off the property documents, because they assume they still live there. The post office tells me that unless they fill out a change of address form, I just have to deal with it. When I get packages, especially the ones marked "Fragile", the mailman will go out of his way to leave it on the ground in front of the closed garage door where the tire would come out. Once, recently, he left one in front of the OPEN garage door, with a car inside, right behind the tire. The postmaster didn't care and says it's at the discretion of the postman to determine the "safest alternative location" to place the package if it won't fit in the mailbox. I guess that would be considered "safe" if the alternative is to drop it in the middle of a highway, so thanks for that, but I would probably choose something more like the front door step. But hey, what do I know? My complaints would likely exceed the maximum allowable characters for these reviews, so I'll stop here. I will go as far as to say that if you're looking to move into a house that falls in this post office's territory, take this into SERIOUS consideration before you do. I never thought I could hate some random service provider so much. They go out of their way to be a complete nightmare. Words cannot express just how terrible this post office is. It's not just missing mail, or crumpled mail, or slow mail - I could deal with all these things. But they take it to a new level. Trust me, I dont care enough to hate my garbage man, my lawn guy, or my local street sweeper, but the Duluth Post Office has been such a nightmare for the last 5 years, that I hope and pray regularly that the entire USPS will just shut down and go away forever so that I can PAY for service. read more

OUCH! THESE REVIEWS ARE TOUGH! I love the ability to stop at any postal office along the way when I am running errands or taking care of business outside of my home area. I stopped at this location during the early afternoon and I like the way that it is set up. You can easily find what you need and the instructions are very clear when it comes to completing labels. Waiting is to be expected at the post office but the one thing that can expedite the process is preparing ahead of time as much as possible, knowing what you want and not cutting the line. What person cut the line to speak with someone who spoke her language fluently but she still should have been directed to the line. The person that she inconvenienced was very patient and another worker actually apologized to him. The staff here was very pleasant, professional and helpful. I appreciated being told that mailing my package by parcel cost the same as sending it Priority. Priority allows for easy tracking with insurance and was the best way to go. There were three workers available to service customers and that allowed the line to flow smoothly. No problems today! read more

The postal service in general has become one of the laziest businesses. The term should not be "gone postal" because a postal employee lost it. It should be "gone postal" because customers have to deal with the postal service on a daily basis. You send a postcard labeled and pay for first class postage you expect it to be delivered. If you send a mailing of postcards AND PAY FOR FIRST CLASS postage you expect them to be delivered with care and attention. OF COURSE NOT! All you get is excuses. The address label was in the wrong place for the automated system... the addresses were not all caps for the automated system. IF EVERYTHING HAS TO BE JUST SO FOR THE AUTOMATED SYSTEM WHY ARE WE PAYING POSTAL EMPLOYEES! FedEx, UPS or another delivery company needs to start delivering every day mail so the consumer can boycot the postal service until they understand what customer service is again! Until then, find as many opportunities you can to use email ... continue to decrease snail mail and watch postal employees lose their jobs because consumers don't want to deal with "automation couldn't read it" or "you have to make this just so". read more

My mail carrier bent portraits that clearly stated all over the package "DO NOT BEND PORTRAITS INSIDE" I called 1800 number for postal service, they said I would receive a call within 24-48 hours.. NEVER received that call. Another time I came to pickup a certified letter.. and one of the postal ladies was completely rude to me.. telling me I couldnt pick up my mail for some odd reason. :/ so I called and was told I would hear from the post master again NEVER DID!!! Now again today, I am here, I was the FIRST one here.. I've been here for over a hour, and in this hour 4 people said that their mail was lost or even misplaced from this same facility.. On several occasions I get peach colored card saying I missed delivery on a package even when Ive been at home all day. They are too lazy to deliver packages. When i go to pick up the packages I have to wait for a long time to get help at the pick up window. I'm only writing this because today I was expecting a package and specifically called to ask if my package was there at the post office and they told me no it was being delivered....Guess what, a peach colored card saying sorry we missed you. I felt so sorry for the customer.She could not speak English and looked like she was going to cry. I wished i had let the postal worker have it or at least called the manager. Thoroughly incompetent. A few days before New Years. I hand delivered a request for temporarily forwarding my mail to an address in Florida. I stopped back at my house on January 2 and found that mail had been delivered. I went back to this post office on January 3 to find out what happened. I was told that the carrier hadn't been given the order yet. I was handed my mail and told that the forwarding would begin the next day, January 4. It is now January 18 and I have not received any forwarded mail. I went the post office in Florida and they told me that there was no forwarding order in the system. They had me fill out a new request card. I called the Duluth post office and was put on hold to speak with a supervisor. So far, I've been on hold 25 minutes. This is by far the absolute worst post office I've ever come across. Honestly, I made a Yelp account JUST to post this review because people need to know about the nonsense going on here. I wish I could give this post office no stars but apparently that's not an option. I've been trying to get a package delivered since Friday. UPS told me they were unable to deliver it due to an incorrect address on the package. That was, admittedly, my fault. UPS was kind enough to update the address on the package for me and it was then forwarded over to this post office, unfortunately. Weirdly enough though, UPS also contacted this post office and they said the package had been delivered. Once I got word that that happened and that the package still hadn't been delivered because I had been home all day, I knew something was wrong. I contacted the post office today and called the wrong number. The woman I spoke to there gave me this post office's number and stated "Most people think the number doesn't work but trust me. It does." That should've been the first clue I was about to spend my entire morning dealing with b.s. I called the number she gave me, to the correct post office, and it rang for about 2 minutes before hanging up. So I called again. I looked online and found the post office's manager's name so I thought I'd ask for him right away to get the best possible service. Wrong. Once I finally connected, the customer service rep. Jackie, asked what I needed. I proceeded to ask for the manager by name: Mr. Welch. She had no idea who I was talking about and stated so but then said "I don't know who that is but I'll page them" and put me on hold!! If she didn't know who I was asking for and the post office really isn't that big that you wouldn't know your OWN MANAGER, why put me on hold? So I hung up and called back. And this is where it gets even worse. I called a total of 7 times, back to back to back. No one was answering. Little did they know that my package had important medicine in it and was expensive, so I wasn't going to just let it disappear with no answers. I called at 9:36, 9:38 (when she answered and put me on hold), 9:40, 9:42, 9:44 (here is when they picked up, stayed silent on the phone, and then hung up on me AGAIN), 9:46, and 9:48. The 9:48 call is when Jackie finally got back on the phone with me and stated she couldn't track my package for me and when I asked to speak to a manger, she asked if I wanted "local or city." I didn't know what she meant by that and instead of just patching me through to her manager at the POST OFFICE SHE WORKED AT, she proceeded to say she couldn't help me and hung up. I have worked in customer service for about a decade. I can't believe a post office can act like this and there aren't any repercussions. If there's any possible way to get your packages sent somewhere else, please do because with this post office and with Jackie working there, you may as well never get another package again. read more

The service at this post office is a joke. Recently we went four days with no mail delivery. Then on the fifth day it was all piled in one day. Plus 4 pieces of mail that day to four different addresses were put in our box. Frequently mail is put in wrong boxes. Today my mother tried to talk to postman who delivers out of back of his truck and he told her off and said he didn't have time to talk. This Duluth post office NEVER answers the phone. Instead of the internet taking a complaint it says to call the supervisor. I have called 3 numbers over a period of time and never get an answer. They are incompetent!!! I never received an attempted delivery notice, but online tracking said they had attempted delivery. I requested a redelivery via the online redelivery request, but the package never arrived. After checking online about a week later, I was notified that the package had been returned to sender. These reviews are tough to read!! But I would like to point out that most of these reviews are about physically going to the post office. MOST carriers (especially city carriers) are helpful from the street in combination with online tools. If you can catch your regular carrier, more than likely they can help with some questions. Not saying it's a guarantee but it's worth a try. Online you can reschedule deliveries, or just sign the pink slip and place back in your mailbox with the flag up. Schedule pick-ups if you ship from home even if it's one package and the carrier will come and provide a pick-up scan. Order shipping supplies for free delivery by your carrier. Granted some issues will require a visit or call physically to the post office, but just know try your carrier first. Even if you write a note and place it in your box. There are many carriers who care about their direct customer service throughout their own routes. Try not to wait for weeks and months to past before asking questions. The sooner you bring any issue to the carriers attention, the better chance of a positive solution. Don't give up on the Duluth Post Office, (most) carriers care ! read more

Sad to say, I did not read the reviews before I moved or opened a box at this Post Office. My first visit to the Post Office was a nightmare. Staff is mighty rude and does not care about customer service. One was yelling at a customer in line, another thumped at her desk and yelled at me at the counter! After a week, I am still in shock at their rudeness. I did call the Survey line, but don't know what good it will do, seems like a culture of bad customer service. Unbelievably unhelpful. Always call trying to get help, have to contact USPS through their website, only to be told they can't reach this post office via phone, either. They always just leave en email for them regarding my issues and nothing EVER gets resolved. Package delivery attempts made at 8 a.m., no notice left, can't find package. The ineptitude is bewildering. I can't even quantify how many hours I've wasted waiting for packages that require signature confirmation because these incompetent people don't know how to deliver within reasonable times. I've lost days worth of pay staying home waiting all damn day trying to receive packages. Absolutely pathetic. And nobody has made ANY attempt to fix any of the problems. Just don't even bother. Not only are they rude, but they all just flat out hate their jobs and hate you for coming in the branch. I've had one yell at me and tell me to leave and come back another time because I had the tape wrapped around my box 3 times and she said its a legal maximum of 2 wraps of tape. (Bull) they take forever and go out of their way to waste your time. At lunch today (when all the working people go to the post office), they had 2 people at the desk. Both of them were so snippy that people were leaving the line and going to UPS. Even the mail carriers who dispatch out of here are lazy. If its raining, they leave a 'Sorry we missed you' note in the mailbox for a certified letter even if you're at the house when they deliver. I have held my tongue long enough. This post office is just plain awful. The home mail deliveries are without question horrible. We don't get our mail, we get other peoples mail - often addresses from across town. The mail isn't delivered until suppertime. The mail carrier drives over our lawn when there is a package to deliver. And then, there is the post office itself. Don't get me started. The worst excuse for a business, ever. The employees' attitudes are less than stellar and their speed and efficiency is terrible. They just don't care about the customer or their job. I have complained to the postmaster about specific delivery problems, to no avail. This post office is without question the worst establishment I've ever had to patronize. This post office is now terrible. I have had a P.O Box here for 10 years. I ordered a package that would be the size equivalent of a softball in a box. In the past, they would place it in a parcel locker and leave a key. This time they left a yellow card stating the package would not fit in my box and I had to go to the post office during their open hours to pick it up. I went at the opening time of 8:30am and there was only one person there to handle 12 people. That was a problem. I got that package but I also ordered a book and a CD of music. Two more orders. All the packages have been tracked to the post office and were delivered on February 20. Yet the other packages have not been placed in the box and no notice of arrival. I have been calling all day and get an immediate fast busy. Which means the phone is off the hook. I will be there tomorrow morning and it won't be pretty at all. I have this box because my mail carrier does not speak English and loses or mishandles our mail constantly. And the post office as a whole wonders why they are losing business. Sent priority mail from CA to Duluth and USPS site indicates sorted for delivery on 12/13... its now the 23rd. I called on several days for HOURS at a time and got busy signal. One time got someone to answer, picked up, indicated its not lost just have not found it yet and will call us back w/in the hour. NO CALL back. Called for hours several days in a row and someone picked up and placed us on hold for 40 minutes and we gave up at 5:05 PM. LOUSY USPS service. No way to follow up on this via email or personal contact. LAST TIME I use USPS for priority items. I would give it no stars or a negative if I could/ Should have looked at yelp reviews before sending it here. I had an issue with a missing package and the postmaster went out of his way to help me locate it. It was missing for about two weeks and I kept checking the post office and every time, he was so friendly and helpful.
