Dr. Nasrullah performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes, one at a time, one month apart. They were scheduled for 2 weeks apart originally but there was an issue with the air conditioning and air filtration system at Reston Surgery Center. The second surgery had to be rescheduled. No one's fault just life sometimes. Anyway everything went smoothly. And I love the multifocus lenses I had implanted instead of just the clear lenses. I have typically worn either multifocal lenses in my glasses or multifocal contact lenses. Now I rarely even have to wear reading glasses at 1.0 strength. I can see beautifully mid-range and long distance. Thank you Dr. Nasrullah! The staff is nice and extremely competent. Everyone does their job well and with a smile on their face. I had follow-ups with Dr. Kang, Dr. Simon and Dr. Dar, all very nice and made me feel comfortable and confident in their manner. read more

I wished I had come here and read the reviews before I went for my ....dry eyes. Guess what my diagnosis was ....Dry Eye!! No treatment plan! Had me order a $500 plus eye drops that he got down to around $240.... And yet no justification for why I needed these drops. I am a senior citizen on Social Security and Medicare . Yes I got the drops no they do not work I am worse off than I was before. But he did give me some pamphlets for recommendations for over-the-counter eye drops as his administrative team was ordering me Meibo! read more

Extremely poor quality service. They required 2 appointments for complete vision testing; ophthalmologist providing peripheral testing was not willing/able to also provide an eyeglass correction Rx at the same visit, so a second appt at a different location was required the following day. They charged an extra $55 fee to complete a 1-page DMV form documenting the examination results. Which DMV initially rejected for being incomplete. When returning to have the form updated, and before leaving their office, we saw the form was again incomplete and in error, so we waited longer for them to fix it. They also charged an additional $$ fee to obtain the eyeglass Rx, even tho we have VSP insurance. Then when their paper eyeglass Rx was taken to Costco to buy glasses, the Costco optician said the paper Rx from Dulles Eye Associates was incomplete. We called to request the complete Rx, but the person answering the phone had to transfer us and we left a voicemail that said they would respond within "48 hours". Then a complete Rx was emailed as requested, but when speaking on the phone with their staff member, they refused to even acknowledge their errors, no apology offered for our inconvenience. When an explanation was solicited, their only explanation given was "Things happen". While the doctor himself seemed nice, appointments were readily available, and they had lots (3+) support staff behind the desk, BUT their attention to detail and office organization (agree with 'chaotic' characterization by other reviewer) was poor. Most importantly, the quality of service provided to us was unsatisfactory. read more

This firm bought out The Eye Center. I was a patient of them, not Dulles. When they did in summer of 2025, they totally f'ed up the accounting data transfer. I last saw Dr. Darrell Reisner early July 2025. Paid my copay at the time at the front desk, which is required of all patients. Well, it didn't show up on our VISA statements until late in August 2025. It didin't show pending in July, so somethiing was going on. The "going on" was the accounting data transfer and change of systems, and the typical bimbos the medical profession is infested with behind the operations. They kept billing for the copay, I called them, I provided photographic proof of payment, and they said to ignore the bills. More than once. As I write this in 2026, it is now in collections. This is a classic case of why physicians need to be taught business in medical school. I will inform the VA Atty General, Fairfax County Consumer Affairs, and the VA Board of Medicine of this problem. I do not care if these doctors are great or not. They need to suffer money wise. Dr. Leyla Najafi was wonderful. However, I did not receive a text/call that my glasses were ready. When I called to follow up, I was told they sent me a text message. However, in fact I had not received a text message. The lady told me the number she texted, which WAS NOT my phone number. She was pretty rude in her tone and seemingly accusing me of entering that wrong phone number when I booked the appointment. I filed a HIPAA complaint. I will seek a new optometrist. read more

Stay away from this place. They do not respect appointment times at all. I had a 2:30 PM appointment and was not seen by the doctor until 4:00 PM. Even worse, when I reminded the staff, their response was dismissive--"Oh, you're still here?" Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. What a dichotomy! The only reason I put up with the horrible staff at this place is the doctors are great, and, after all, that's what I'm there for. That said, the staff is rude, inconsiderate and treats patients like cattle. There is no warmth or trying to connect on a human basis, just hurrying us through the process. As much as I love Dr. Dar (and Dr. Nasrullah, before him), I plan to look elsewhere going forward. Please avoid Dulles Eye Associates at all costs! Their front office staff is beyond incompetent. I went to this office WITH insurance and they failed to bill my insurance for months, and just kept bouncing the cost back to me over and over again. Finally, without even giving me final notice that I need to pay out of pocket, they forwarded my $250 bill to collections. I received the collections notice and paid $250 IN FULL to collections. 2 months later after having paid in full to collections, Dulles Eye Associates has sent me another bill! This time they are claiming I only paid $187.50 to collections. Well they are out of their minds. Thankfully I have the receipt of paying $250 to the collections company on my credit card statement. I have visited Dulles Eye Associates on Oct 30th and I had terrible experience, I wish I could gave zero star. I have called made my appointment over the phone, I well explained to the receptionist why I want to visit the Dr. So after completing initial information the Dr. came he was in hurry checked my eyes and told me your eyes are good, he had no time to explain, just said your eyes have no damage, patient expect from the Dr. explaination of issue, after I explained again that have vision difficulty, he said ok let me take you to the another Dr. to see glass option I have waited another 20 minutes the ophthalmologist came to me said " sir unfortunately I can't do anything for you, your insurance is spectrum and we don't work with them. I said hold on a minute when I made appointment you guys didn't tell me, he said oh ahhhh sorry. They wested another hour just talk to a manager and no result after another hour they asked me to pay out of pocket because they don't do business with Spectrum, I walked out. They are all in rush they have no time for patients. They are not transparent, not honest, don't care for patients. They just like to charge you over and over. read more

The scheduling of my appointment was made even though it turned out the ophthalmologist was scheduled to be on vacation the day of my appointment for cataract surgery. This office seems to have badly run business and scheduling practices. I am cancelling my surgery appointment and seeking a referral to another ophthalmologist from my internist. On June 14th I went to a free consultation with Dr. Nasrullah at Dulles Eye Associates to see if I was a candidate for Lasik or PRK. Dr. Nasrullah informed me that I qualified for PRK and wanted to schedule surgery that same day. I was shocked that he wanted to do it right then, and said I needed to get a second opinion first and I wasn't ready to do a same day surgery. The front desk people said I needed to give a deposit to keep my appointment and pressured me into giving it, so I paid what I was told was a refundable $500 deposit. I got a second opinion from a very reputable ophthalmologist and was told that I wasn't a good candidate due to some other health and medical problems. I was told that if I went through PRK surgery, it would actually not be a good result and I shouldn't do it. When I called I called Dulles Eye Associates and told them to cancel my appointment, that I had changed my mind and would not move forward with any surgery and asked for my deposit back, they informed me the $500 deposit non-refundable. So they pressured me to have surgery that wouldn't have been good for me and took my money and refused to give it back. Dulles Eye Associates clearly does not have their patients best interests in mind and are only in it for the money. When my husband tried to get the deposit back, they were rude and refused to budge, claiming that all deposits are non-refundable. This is just wrong! read more

Dulles Eye Associates rescheduled my Friday appointment with less than 4 hour lead time which resulted in a missed day of work and lost income. Then when I spoke with the manager directly she informed me she would reschedule me for Monday to squeeze me in. After calling into the office to confirm my appointment since i did not receive a confirmation, I was informed that I no longer had any appointment scheduled whatsoever. Seems to be a decent doctor from reviews, but their administration is so poor that getting an appointment honored by their business is nearly impossible. Dr. Dar is a wonderful doctor whose judgement I trust. However the billing practice is so chaotic and fraught with errors and I had to ask my retina specialist for another referral. First off, you are required to pay for the entire visit upfront at time of check-in, before even seeing the doctor or tech. Secondly, when I asked for an itemized list of what I'd be paying for, they are different in amount each time, even though I was doing regular monitoring visits and the insurance hasn't changed. I'm glad I took a picture of the final receipt paying off my balance, because for the past year, I received multiple texts letting me know I have a balance. When I called the office, they told me to ignore those texts. Now I just received a voicemail from them that my husband has a balance with them more than 2 years ago, even though my husband has paid off the balance promptly and they've not sent any bills in the mail. Also, to add to their disorder, my husband would've listed me as an emergency contact, not a billing contact. It goes to show how they don't have their stuff together in the back office. Other staff doctors not truthful and refused to give correct diagnosis to a second opinion doctor I had. Trust your gut and go else where or at least get a second opinion and watch your bills. I visited Lansdown office. the front office is not well equipped with procedure. When I asked the question, how long is the wait time and how many are before me, front desk office couldn't answer a simple question. There was a older person in his 80's waiting for 45 mins and requesting how long has to wait for his appointment, very energetic answer. Honestly, the front office desk is not well equipped. The office staff had only one answer, we don't have many rooms. When I went in I was shocked to see so many rooms. I don't understand what was she really trying to say. no office will have 50 rooms......... I am exteremly dissapointed with the staff and how they are managing I was taken inside the office by the time doctor came to see me, it took about 1 hr. nurse said, I am next in line , but unfortunately it took 1 hr before doctor could check me. he entered the room within 2 sec he was pulled out to see another person and my wait time just jumped up again. I would not go in this office again. But that does not matter, because every hospitals are doing well. read more

I saw Dr. Obaidullah Faiq. Who is rude, discourteous and treats patients like cattle being processed for intake. This man sent me back to the waiting room no less than three times for periods of 2-5 minutes each time while he "had the front desk check something." Wow, if you are getting LASIK this is the place. As most people are I was terrified. The appointment process was a pain (phone) but the in office staff are fantastic (Leesburg). From the nice ladies at the front desk to the amazing folks who got me ready and did the preop tests I felt good about the whole experience. Dr Nasrullah himself, he was amazingly patient with my 100 questions and talked to me for the whole procedure. Highly recommend. read more

I was referred to this place by my optometrist since she was concerned about the size of my optic nerve. The staff wasn't the most friendly or attentive to do the appointment and when I arrived for my check up. The Dr. Leyla Najafi saw me the first time, she was rude and I didn't like her attitude at all so, I requested to be seen by another of their specialist. Dr. Ahmed Nasrullah was assigned to me and he was very friendly and patient with me since, I get anxious each time I have an eye appointment because, of my uncommon optic nerve size. He answered all my questions and explained all the testing they were going to do. I came back a year later and I mentioned the discomfort I had in my eyes and that maybe I need some drops or it was something going on with my eyes. They didn't care, did or say anything. I thought maybe is nothing to worry about and my contact lenses are the cause so, I stop wearing them. This year I went again for my check up and my glasses prescription and mention the irritation and blurriness and other discomfort with my eyes. Again they didn't care. Dr Ahmed just suggest to do LASIK since I am a candidate now. All my discomfort increased so I decided to visit another specialist. Experience when excellent from the first call to the fist visit in the new place. I have dry eye issues, a severe cat allergy and since I am highly glaucoma candidate my New specialist said we need to preserve my optic nerve as soon as possible. I am feeling better now and looking forward to seeing my new doctor in a few months for a check up and testing. Due my experience with Dulles eye Associate, I really do not recommend this place to anybody. A friend of mine had a similar experience here so sadly it is the way they work. read more

Worst Experience Ever from entry through the front doors to leaving. As we entered, my husband held the door open for one of the eye techs and instead of saying "thank you" or nothing at all, he says angrily "just go". Just so happens this is the same tech who calls us to the patient room later. At the receptionist desk, not a warm greeting at all. Then she says "we're collecting $41 today". So I say "for?" And she got flustered and responded "it's for copay, I believe". So i pay, no problem. Our 2 year old is called back by last name and the same tech who was rude from the initial was still rude. The doctor was friendly however he was impatient and insensitive to our 2 year old who was his first-time patient! We asked if we could leave a review and he was very dismissive after we expressed our disinterest for coming back. He referred us to the front desk drop box, and guess what? There were no forms left to leave a review. Overall a very very unpleasant experience. We will not be returning to this office read more

I believe my last review somehow got deleted. I had hard contacts made. I told them to mail them to me. They asked me if I'd like priority shipping, and since I already had a pair of contacts to hold me over I declined. Little did I know that "regular" shipping to them was putting the contacts in an envelope with no security whatsoever. It rained on the day of delivery and I got a wet, empty envelope. When I brought this up to Dulles Eye they basically told me it's my fault and they would not refund me. My hard contacts were hundreds of dollars each. Then I went to a different doctor and practice (See Clearly Vision) which not only offered me cheaper contacts, but gave me an option (scleral lenses) that was a thousand times better in terms of vision and comfort than Dulles Eye ever did. And it was more affordable. Awful service. No up-to-date practices. You only have two eyes, take care of them and go elsewhere. read more

Very disappointing experience. Despite the lengthy wait to see him. the doctor seemed competent, but the services are extremely over-priced and the billing support staff was very rude. I was referred to this office through my insurance company. I only wanted to see if an eye infection had cleared up and whether the doctor thought I could return to wearing contact lenses. What I got was a sales pitch for lasik surgery and an extremely high charge. I had already paid an inflated co-pay and because of the doctor's delay I waited longer for my scheduled appointment than the time it took for him to see me, only later to be shocked when the additional bill came in the mail. I called the office to check to see if an error had been made and was connected with an extremely RUDE billing person who instructed me to take it up with my insurance company. After several calls between the two, and feeling like I was getting the run around I called this office again and asked them to please review the charges to make absolutely sure an error had not been made. They told me they would not accept the request to check for an office error from me, but I would have to get my insurance company to request it. What?! read more

This place is a mess. I was referred to one of their ophthalmologists by my optometrist for dry-eye treatment. Apparently, between the time I made the appt. and when I arrived (had to book 3 weeks out and take time off work), that particular ophthalmologist stopped working there. Instead, they paired me with another optometrist, and still charged me the 'specialist' copay. I made a follow-up appointment with one of their other ophthalmologists for two weeks later. One week later, they called to tell me that the doctor wouldn't be there that day and that they were moving my appointment. Uh, no way. I wasn't particularly happy with anyone's bedside manner (didn't explain procedures/tests before doing them, left me waiting in the exam room for long periods, etc.), and this extra scheduling snafu was too much. I will not be going back there and will recommend that my optometrist stop referring people to that office. read more

From my first consultation for medical Lasik, to my post-op, the office staff was professional and educated me about every step of the process. After my surgery, I had little discomfort and practically no down time and can now see 20/20 without glasses... something I haven't had since I was a child. Easy surgery. Great doctor. Do not go to this business, they have shady practices and when discovered, they point to a very small policy about if they break your glasses while adding a prescription that they provided, they are not responsible and then to add insult to injury they want you to use your benefits to replace. One of the worst places to go for an eye exam. The staff do not disclose the full amount clearly inspite of discussing the full details with the insurance. I was taken to 4 different rooms and billed $620.00 for a total of 20 minutes of testing - a total rip off. I was not even given any report after the exam but was told that everything is normal and ok. I will never ever visit Dulles Eye Associates or will recommend this place to anybody. I will also post this review message on my office board so that all the employees of my compaany are cautioned. I had asked the associate of the total cost after they discussed with my insurance and knowing that I have not met my deductible. They collected $192.00 on the day of the exam and today again they send me a bill for $360.70. Had I checked the reviews before I visited I would have never gone to this place, which is a total rip off. read more

He walked me through the entire lasik process step by step to make sure I was comfortable with the surgery. I had a bunch of questions and he answered all of them, reassuring me that him/his staff would take great care of my eyes. Had a horrible experience. Went to Dulles Eye Associates because my daughter was having some headaches and we were worried. Before coming, I asked how much the visit would cost, and after some back and forth with them and the insurance company, they said my out of pocket would only be $50, and we won't be paying anything else. We went in and they performed some tests on her without telling us what they were. I asked them three times if I would need to pay more than the $50, and they said no, each time. The results of the tests came in, there was nothing wrong with my daughter, I paid the bill, and thought that was that. Two months later my daughter got a bill for $160 dollars, with no explanation as to why she was being charged, or for what tests. I called them repeatedly to clarify and was told that the person responsible for billings would call me. When I did get to speak with him, he was rude. He said he would speak with the Office Manager and get back to me. The next time I heard from him was a voice mail saying they were putting my daughter's bill for collection. I called the office repeatedly, trying to get in touch with either him or the office manager, and three days later I was finally able to speak with someone at the office. While they agreed with us, that if they had been in our shoes they would not have paid the bill themselves, they blamed us for their mistake of not informing us of the additional costs of the tests, had no explanation for which tests cost the extra money. I finally gave up and said I would pay the bill, only to be informed that my daughter's bill could no longer be paid through their office, as, instead of returning any of my calls, they had already put it for collection. They are rude, with no sense of decency or honesty, and they are leeches who only care about making money and not at all about the patient. UPDATE: After ping-ponging back-and-forth between them and the collection agency and AFTER settling the bill, I was told by them, "we were considering doing something about the situation, but after seeing your negative review, we don't want to help you." read more

I strongly believe that the office in Lansdowne is run by scammers. They charge you for the services you did not render. You find this out on your own. Even though if your account (in their records) show that they owe you, they refuse to refund. For every question, they have only one answer "Manager will call you back" which never happens. If you show up at their office to resolve the issue then "Manager will have to approve it". Where is the manager? "Oh! Manager is not here and we do not control manager's schedule". I think they hide their scam behind this fabricated manager that does not exist. Another review stated, "Billing department has mental problems.". I couldn't agree more. I wanted to share my experience with Dulles Eye Associates which has not been very good. I'm one of the few patients who didn't have successful cataract surgery. I now 6 months out from my surgery and can barely read the top line of an eye chart. But my complaint is how many times I visited the office for the past 6 months with no reasons why my eye wasn't getting better....Dr Nesbullah turned me over to a retina specialist and never followed up to see how I was doing...the Retina specialist would poke at my eye, shine a light from every angle...and pretty much wrestled my eye to the point where it was sore when done...the whole time looking for a tear that was never there. And I'm talking like 6 visits over 4 to 5 months...all requiring a payment, all requiring prescriptions and mjch loss of time from work...why she didn't refer me back to the doctor performing the surgery is beyond me. So I go to anther doctor and he diagnosis the problem in 10 minutes...a dislocated lens...who knows, the retinal specialist might have poked my eye too hard. I now have to have much more complicated surgery to repair what I've already paid to have done..$1500 out of pocket for laser cataract surgery...a total waste of money as it turns out...let along the subsequent expenses and time lost. So no team work among doctors here...no follow-up, no communications at all....I stuck with them way too long...and nothing ever changed...make sure you get a good doctor...its' your eyes!! . read more

First, a little background: I am nearsighted (can only see things up close) and also need reading glasses when I wear contacts because I am over 40 years old. I went to three different Lasik providers before I decided to go with Dulles Eye Associates. I felt comfortable with Dr. Nasrullah because he explained that the best procedure for me was Monovision Lasik (dominant eye corrected for distance, non-dominant eye slightly under-corrected to allow for reading). The first provider did not think I was a good candidate for Lasik. The second provider said I should do both Lasik (for distance) and Raindrop (for reading). Dr. Nasrullah suggested monovision and said Raindrop was not necessary for now because the under-correction can solve my reading. He said that he COULD do Raindrop, but it would just be more expensive and was unnecessary for my situation. I felt that this was the right call, and his honesty of providing me a less expensive alternative was much appreciated. I would definitely recommend Dr. Nasrullah, as he has a very therapeutic demeanor. Throughout the entire operation (which lasted only around 15 minutes from walking into the operating room to walking out), he kept talking with words of encouragement, clearly stating what he was about to do, what he was currently doing, and the immediate results of what was just done. The results of the operation were a success and I can see clearly for distance now and can also read text up close whether a book, my phone, or anything else. Their office in Lansdowne is easy to get to, plenty of parking, and I never had to wait more than five minutes when I arrived for my scheduled appointments. If you are considering Lasik, definitely put Dulles Eye Associates and Dr. Nasrullah specifically on your short list. I DO recommend visiting at least a couple of providers and comparing what they have to recommend regarding your specific situation. I went with Dr. Nasrullah because I felt he gave the best option for me and his demeanor was honest and caring, and also because he had the latest laser technology right in his Lansdowne office (where others would have had you go to a different location for the actual Lasik procedure). This is for the Reston location. Front desk is horrible. No customer service skills. The parking is horrible. It took me 10 minutes to find parking, so I showed up at 1:15 for my 1:00 ( my fault). They took my co payment and forgot about me. Front desk doesn't communicate with each other. One girl took my file back, the other one completely missed it and then they were both just sitting there looking bored. 20 mins later they figured out that I was still waiting. Now I'm waiting for the doctor in one of the exam rooms, but I'm super ticked off. The first time I came, it was faster but nothing spectacular. read more
