Dr. Pearlman was great. Front desk not so much. Could have looked on my file to see I had VSP insurance which covers my regular eye exam with no copay. Instead charged my blue cross medical insurance which had a $50 copay. read more

I have been a patient at this office for years and have seen Dr. Pearlman in the past with no issues however when I went for my exam yesterday I was highly disappointed and insulted by the way I was treated by the technician and Dr.Pearlman. They were unprofessional and argumentative. They discussed my case outside of the room where I could hear Everything the doctor was saying and he did not come in to explain anything to me Instead sending his technician to pass along a message . I am a healthcare professional of over 20 years and this behavior is not acceptable. From the moment I walked in I could feel his technician was defensive and treated me like I had something wrong . I ended up walking out of the office with frustration and disappointment. I will not be going back to this office ever again . read more

I have never had any issues with this practice, and have been seeing Dr. Boutros since 2007. He did cataract surgery on my right and did a fabulous job. I see him every three months, and have never felt that either he or any of his staff have been anything other than courteous and professional. read more

I cannot get past the lack of professionalism from the office staff. Front desk personnel discuss phone calls (openly) about "such and such" called and said she had a flat tire. Everyone jumped in on the conversation, including patient in waiting room. They 'appear' to practice social distancing, however, the tech did not wear gloves. He touched the door and all the equipment, as well as my husbands eyes. Another one pulls her mask on and off and touches pens, her water bottle, the phone, ...while still gloved! And then returns to work. Very aggressive and inconsistent with rules. Total confusion about who owns this practice. One call came on for Dr Boutrous, and the receptionist said, "you must have the wrong office." Nothing past that was offered. It is my understanding that he is affiliated with this practice (at least that is what the other receptionist said) - but she acted as though he had no affiliation. They only would let the patient back due to Covid. But ironically this was a 'new rule' the administrator had just imposed that morning (which the staff did not seem to be clear on) and NO signage was posted and guest chairs were NOT removed. It was important for me to hear what the doctor had to say, because the last busy, two weeks ago, my husband was told "there is a 50/50 chance he will get his vision back - too early to tell." A tech came out to wipe down the chairs and the receptionist said, "you don't need to do that. I usually do it when the waiting room is empty." read more

Dr. Pearlman should retire and avoid public service all-together. After he and his staff over-charged me, then sing-songed "she's baaackk" when I had to go back in to resolve it, Dr. Pearlman himself then sent me a letter (after the fact) saying "he doesn't need my business...". Note that he over charged me, the insurance company verified he overcharged me, Pearlman had to refund my money, and Dr. Pearlman wrote me a letter saying he didn't want my business (because I dared to question him and didn't appreciate his lack of customer service). --No problem - wasn't going to anyway, but nice to know how he really feels about customers. And thanks for putting it in writing for proof to accompany the bill and the insurance explanation of benefits. If you are unlucky enough to have to see him as your last resort, be prepared to probably have to wait long enough for him to have his lunch, dessert and then some, no matter what time of day it is. There are many better choices folks, and I hope you're lucky enough to go anywhere else! read more

I took my daughter here for an extensive appointment with an Opthamologist because she has been complaining of vision problems in school. The doctor dilated her eyes, ran her through a few eye exams and said nothing is wrong she has perfect vision. My daughter continued to complain about vision problems, and we tended to not pay any attention since a "doctor" said her vision was fine. After several months of complaints, I took her to another Opthamologist, who did less testing, and diagnosed her with a vision issue and ordered glasses for her. Imagine my surprise, and horror, that my poor girl had problems and this place totally missed the boat on a simple diagnosis. Additionally, for being a "new" location, the office was filthy, and the staff generally unprofessional. There are so many good places to have your eyes checked. This place should not be a option. read more

If I could give them negative stars, I would. Made the mistake of getting my daughter's glasses there and had to wait forever. By the time they came in, I found out the guy never filed a claim with our insurance company so we had to pay out of pocket. He claimed he was "separate" from the eye doctor even though his desk is less than 10 feet away from the receptionist. He never asked for insurance information, and I assumed he was part of the office so he should have all our information, right? Nope. He refused to budge. I stopped going there for myself and my daughter, but my husband still uses them because they're nearby. But now they messed up his glasses. He took them in because he had a scratch on them in DECEMBER. They messed up the order so we had to wait, and then we were gone for Christmas. Come January we get the glasses but they messed up and made them sunglasses. Took them back in to correct it. Got a call a week ago that the glasses were in and finally made it down there today to pick them up (my husband works 8-5 and can't make their office hours so I offered to pick them up). I pick them up and come home, then get a call from the guy saying that he JUST got another set of lenses from the lab so I should check to see if the glasses I have are actually sunglasses. Sure enough, they are. You mean to tell me that the guy never checked the lenses when they came in from the lab, after we brought them back because we didn't order sunglasses in the first place??? Or did he mess up and give me the sunglasses again after we brought them back? Who knows. Go back again, get the proper lenses, and he gives me the tinted lenses for free like he's doing me a favor. Never once apologized. Always shifts blame on "the lab". Two months later and who knows how many trips to the office (because he leaves early a lot of times) we finally got our glasses. Never. Such an incredible disappointment! I went in December for a Lasik consultation. The woman who did my 'exam/ LASIK consultation' was awful. She rushed me, got visibly frustrated when she put drops in my eyes and then immediately told me to leave my eyes open so she could look in my eyes. I needed a few minutes to adjust since my eyes were watering and felt heavy from the drops. She sighed heavily multiple times and basically yelled in a strong voice to 'KEEP your EYES open'. In the end, she didn't approve me b/c she said my vision changed too drastically in the last year. (??) I had never been to their office before and she used my glasses prescription (that her office read somehow - which btw they read wrong and my real eye dr confirmed to me their # was inaccurate) to make an assumption on what my actual prescription was. In making her decision, she never asked me what my contact prescription was but based it on what she 'assessed' my prescription to be after she did an eye exam. Additionally, she never asked to see any of my last Eye Exam results from my actual eye dr. to confirm if there had been any change at all in my prescription. She was clocking my right eye at a -10.5 and my left eye at -11.25 and I told her there was NO WAY that was accurate based on what my prescription has been for YEARS. She also did not talk about other options and rushed herself out of the room. Done. Well, I followed up with my actual eye doctor a few weeks later for my annual eye exam and found out she was WRONG in many ways. 1. My vision did not change at all (no shocker to me), and 2. the lady at the eye center was WAY OFF on my prescription (again - no shocker to me). My right eye remains at -8.5, my left eye remains at -9.0 - very different reading than what she gave. I have no problem with a 'no' if there is a good reason and honestly due to my strong prescription didn't even think I would be a candidate. However, I have ZERO confidence in their abilities to adequately assess whether someone is actually eligible for Lasik or not - especially since they do not ask to see eye exam history. Shouldn't that be a requirement if drastic vision changes in the recent year is a qualifier for getting LASIK or not?? My actual eye doctor encouraged me to go to another place she highly recommends for a consult. I will never do business here - nor will I encourage anyone else. read more
