I usually hate frosting, but this frosting was so good I wanted more. The cake was moist and light and delicious. I can't emphasize strongly enough how damn good this cake was. We also tried two Mini Quesadillas Salvadoreñas, which we had never had before, and they were pretty delicious as well. I visited Dulceology recently and loved it! I just walked in and selected plain, coconut, and heart-shaped alfajores; they were decadent! I absolutely love the feel of this place, the decoration is so cute and the two owners, I forgot their names, were super nice! I bought a box of 15 alfajores to share with my family and I hope to return for more. My only suggestion is that the place felt a bit cluttered behind the counter, so it just needs a little more organization. One of the best bakeries I have been to in a very long time! The eclair was magnificent the hard shell is not to be slept on its crystallized sweetness and it goes perfectly with the filling and soft interior. One bite and I promise you will taste perfection. Dulceology is a super cute dessert shop right in the heart of Federal Hill. It is women and Latinx owned and boasts a huge library of different desserts for the picking. I was ordering cupcakes for a work party. I spoke to a young woman over the phone who was very, very helpful and had a wonderfully pleasant demeanor. She was so nice for working with me and allowing me to pay in advance over the phone. She let me know they do not typically do this but she was happy to make the exception. When I finally arrived to the store to pick up the cupcakes, I was blown away by how beautiful and welcoming the shop and staff are. I did however present the cupcakes to my fellow coworkers and I would be remiss if I did not mention that most of the employees said that their cupcakes were slightly dry. We still enjoyed them and I would be more than happy to return to Dulceology, let it be known the cupcakes are more heavy and cakey than normal cupcakes. read more

Amazing bakery ! I came here for a bday cake for my fiancé. They usually require online ordering but were able to accommodate my walk in request that morning which was exceptionally kind considering how busy they are. The bakery itself is very cute and clean. They have everything up to COVID19 safety standards so I had no reserves about ordering ! The staff are also extremely nice and professional especially Ale. I will definitely visit again soon. I was walking past the store and immediately noticed a Napoleon in their display case beckoning me inside. It was a meringue Napoleon, but they told me if I call in the morning, I can order a traditional pastry cream Napoleon or other pastries made to order. Long story short, it was fantastic! I'm guessing by the texture and consistency that they used an Italian meringue, and it was perfection. The pastry was light, flaky, and delightfully crisp. I'm so happy to have a quality bakery in the neighborhood. Can't wait to try more goodies, including the Tres Leches cake, dulce de leche cookies, and eclairs! Everything looks amazing. read more

I bought a set of a dozen alfajores as a gift to my friend watching my pet. The exterior and interior of the shop are so adorable and cute that it makes you want to buy something just to support such a cute small local business. The alfajores were so delicious- in particular the pistachio one was extremely tasty and the dulce de leche cream inside wasn't too sweet or overpowering. I also got a pumpkin sugar cookie and was not impressed, it tasted a bit stale and hard. I would say that I want to return back to try the croissant donuts and the other cute bakery items. read more

I was gifted an alfajores sampler box and instantly became hooked - I'll take these over a macaron and macaroon any day! I also ordered a chocolate "cielito lindo" cake for my son's birthday. The chocolate was so delicious and deep, it also had notes of cinnamon that just made the taste so memorable. The Swiss buttercream was just the right amount of creamy and not overly sweet, which was great because the added layer of dulce de leche took this over the top. All of my health conscious guests wanted more of the cake which is not usual - typically I have tons of leftovers. I went for the first time today and wanted the tres leches which I got but they also to my surprise had pavlova. I got one as they looked fresh light and beautiful. Let me tell you it did not disappoint. Slightly sweet crunchy meringue outside chewy on the inside with a beautiful layer of gorgeous berries. I loved it!! The owner also told me of Napoleon's that were coming soon and I was so excited because I had been talking about them for a few days. I really liked that they had a website that you can order from. I sent a follow up question via e-mail and got a quick response. The cake was ready on time, it was beautiful just like the online pictures, and it was VERY good! I had the tres leches half sheet, which really works for this type of wet cake. I will definitely be ordering more from them. The store itself is beautifully decorated. They colored it pink on the outside so it is hard to miss! I went there close to the end of the day, and the traffic around the area was horrible! My recommendation is to pick up your cake early before rush hour. I had come in to pick up some gluten free treats, and they explained all of options clearly! I got two 6-pack boxes of gluten free alfajores, which were the best alfajores I've ever had, and a mini quesadilla salvadoreña. The classic alfajores were soft, perfectly sweet, and delectable. The chocolate on the chocolate covered ones was of such good quality, it did not detract from the rest of the alfajor. The quesadilla was moist, mildly cheesy, and scrumptious.
