The staff doesn't wear masks and tried to encourage me not to wear mine. I felt very uncomfortable. We tried to sit away from everyone outside and eventually people were seated full capacity so we got up and left. The mimosa and saltfish was good so that was pleasant. I wasn't a fan of the fried foods. They were pretty bland. We were brought used plates. One of the plates had grits on it. We didn't stay long because we just really questioned the health and safety standards. read more

Service is absolutely horrible. The bartenders didnt greet us, didnt give us menus, and not even water. When we finally asked for the menu and a drink, they gave us an attitude because we asked. There are too many restaurants in the area to be treated with bad customer service. read more

I truly hate that the more popular some restaurants get they truly just become a vibe with no good quality food. Super disappointed on my most recent visit Monday night. I bit into an oxtail that tasted like nothing. As I spoke to my serve I was notified that the oxtails are PRE cooked.then warmed up. To which explained why my food was so tough. Oxtails are suppose to fall off the bone and this just was N o t it! :( read more

I want to start off by saying I flew from Boston to try Dukunoo simply because I was craving it amongst other reasons . The ambiance there is literally a 100/10 starting from the greeters along with the decor, the food, hookahs and drinks were spectacular. I ordered the oxtail which literally fell off the bone and my friend ordered the jerk chicken. We also ordered other stuff and we were left speechless and full. The service was amazing whom ever the owner maybe I would like them to know their staffing team was amazing! read more

From the second I walked in I was disrespected and belittled by the host. She talked to my entire party in a demeaning manner, interrupted seating us to seat another party, and mocked the way we spoke. The food is extremely overpriced for the amount of food and quality you get. If you're going to disrespect me at least let the food make up for it but if you're going to spend luxury prices and expect luxury service and quality food.....this isn't the place for you. read more

The jerk chicken was phenomenal. Waiter was attentive and checked in on my table throughout the dining experience. There is a reduced star because the time after ordering and receiving the food was a bit long. Other than that, the experience and ambiance was a solid experience. read more

I heard about this place while dining at a different restaurant. Dukunoo is located in a cute little neighborhood north of downtown. I Ubered here from my hotel down town. I ordered the oxtails for dinner. I enjoyed it. The oxtails were seasoned deliciously. I enjoyed the atmophere and the music. I recommend this to anyone staying downtown who is interested in delicious Jamacian food. read more

Came for Sunday Brunch. I'm happy they brought a black owned Caribbean establishment to the Wynwood area. It was a vibe! They have music and mimosas by the carafe. The best time to come is about 1:30. In true Wynwood fashion it was a little on the pricey side, but if you know Wynwood you should know what to expect. I had the ackee and saltfish which was good. I had to order a side of plantains. The festival made me sad. It may have been fried to long because it was hard and dry. The Caribbean zombie eclipse was really good. They automatically charge gratuity. The service was okay. Highly recommended if you're looking for a good time. I'll definitely be back for the vibes. read more

We were so looking forward to this place! I'm originally from the Caribbean and always trying new Caribbean food places. We made a reservation for Sunday brunch. Arrived on time, the hostess ( who was wearing her mask on her chin) told us she couldn't find our reservation. Said she would try squeezing us on a high top. The bar tenders all had no masks. Which put us a little at unease. We sat, checked the menu, which seems a bit off. Our waitress was extremely nice and had her mask on properly, but you could notice every other waiter with their masks on their chins. We ordered the mimosa pitcher, and appetizers. They brought us a set of silver wear and a bunch of plastic wear and two plates (we were three). One of the plates had what seemed to be grits at the bottom of the plate. At this point we didn't want to order any more food and just leave. I definitely do not recommend. read more

ORIGINALLY rated a 1 because of the long wait but upgraded to a 3 because the food was mind blowing. rate this place 1 star? Read below if you need details. My friends and I schlepped from NYC to visit Ducunoo bec we HEARD it was a good brunch spot with good food, service and vibes. That's INCORRECT! We were seated at 4:12pm but 5:10pm was the time we received our 1se order of drinks. It was almost an hour and we were still waiting for our meal. Why did this happen you ask? Well, apparently they overbooked and did not have the staff capacity to properly cater to their customers. I wanted to leave and if it was up to me I would have left but my friends wanted to stay to give this place a shot. Plus the music was good. There is NO WAY I'd ever wait an hour for food at a restaurant. I don't even wait an hour for UBER EATS! My advice, don't go here if you're hungry. Update Although our food got to our table over an hour after placing the order I must tell you guys that it was absolutely delicious. If I wasn't HANGRY I'd say it was worth the wait (it still kinda is!). I had the oxtail. It was an explosion of flavor in your mouth. The meat was so soft and tender and was falling off the bone. The rice was perfect also. I had it with steamed cabbage on the side. My friends knew I was pleased because I stayed after thr meal,, ordered.more drinks, they ordered hookah and we vibed there till sunset. I am changing my 1 star to 3 because of the vibes and the food. If the wait wasn't so long I would've given them a 5. Final recommendation: definitely go for the vibes.. the DJ was fire! Just DO NOT GO if you're hungry and expecting quick service. You might agree that the oxtails were worth the wait. read more

Dukunoo - Our drinks are lonely as it waits for the food we ordered an eternity ago. - Caribbean Near Me - Miami, Florida

Great vibe, popped in to try this spot out during Miami spice. They had a good selection available but we also got some items from the regular menu. We opted to sit out side for the Caribbean vibes, and the music was bumping. I like the way they take orders on the iPad and I can actually see a pic of what you are ordering. Everything was delicious! The bread pudding I would honestly drive the 45 minutes for again. Looking forward to coming back to try the oxtails! read more

Dunkanoo is definitely a vibe! I went during art Basel weekend. They have a Dj and he was playing great music. We sat down pretty quickly. It did take some time for our food to come out but we didn't mind because we were jamming to the music. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the curry shrimp with peas and rice and a side of plantains. It was very well seasoned. Let's just say I cleaned my plate. If you like island food and vibes this should definitely be on your list of places to visit. read more

This is a cute place for drinks and the music. The DJ was playing great tunes for a weekday and the drinks were really good. I enjoyed the rum punch because was surprised they made it with Wray n nephew. The food was really hit or miss. I got the shrimp and the corn because I knw those are always a hit. My friend had the bread pudding and wasn't feeling it. The jerk chicken didn't have traditional jerk sauce on it so it was a little off. They prob tried to make it unique. I think a traditional jerk sauce would go further than the reinvented style. The ambiance is nice and the bartenders were super cool. Definitely would hit this place up to hang out and have drinks. read more

Met my friends here for dinner. The restaurant is such a vibe. They have a dj and hookah. I ordered I'm outside for my drink. For my appetizer I got the Saltfish flitters. Im Jamaican so I expecting something different. They taste more like conch flitters to me. The filling was good but it wasn't a lot of Saltfish in it. I give it a 6.5 out of 10. For my entree I ordered the yardstyle fried chicken. Which was a 7.5 out of 10. My chicken was hot and my fries was cold. Nevertheless if you looking for a restaurant with good music and drinks definitely check them out. read more

My visit yesterday was my second time going to Dukunoo, mainly because the food is delicious and we like the music. I have to give them four stars because service was was super slow both times. However, it didn't feel so bad, because my friend and I were so entertained by the live DJ. Additionally, our entrees were cold when they arrived. The music can be quite loud, so if that's not your vibe, I recommend you take your food to go . Dukunoo has more of a lounge vibe than a restaurant vibe, hookahs and all. There is indoor and outdoor dining options and bar seating. The bar seems to fill up pretty quickly. As for parking, it's the same as anywhere else in Wynwood - find street parking or go to a nearby garage. read more

*LONG POST ALERT* First off i have some many things i need to unpack. i wanted to have our office end of the year event. I came here several times to speak with someone in regards to it and you can only speak with the manager. The manager's time of arrival changes daily one day it's 4pm, 5pm or 6pm. he's the only one you can speak with in regards to a group event. I need to bring the proper forms because we are tax exempt. however through my numerous attempts they all failed i never seen or heard from him I left my number and all contact information nobody ever responded back to me. i came once again and he is still not in of course nobody knows how to apply the tax exempt, no manager is in and on top of that it's a inspection taking place and no food can be served so all of us are sitting here hungry and with no food. this experience has been one for the books.. read more

Could've been better in terms of service and food portions. Waiter told us from the start that service is slow since there was only 2 people in the kitchen...allegedly. We had two orders of oxtail, two jerk burgers and the curry chickpeas , not shown since the order came so late it was taken as a to go order. The burgers came first then oxtails. Waiter went MIA, looked around he was outside cheesing with people he knew. I had to ask another staff member to check on the last dish which was ready and waiting, he just never bothered to check. Gratuity was included in the bill which showed in the waiters service. He received a $23.00 tip for nothing! I was livid!! The order that came after everyone finished eating was removed from the bill, but still...I had to ask because they sure was going to charge me. The oxtails was fatty and only 3-4 pieces in the sauce!!!! I'm Fuming at this point but that zombie drink mellowed me out so basically I felt like I was fighting with myself lol. Anyway, the music was great. The food was ok definitely not worth $30 for oxtails. The drinks? Yea mon! read more

This rating is based on the food which was 5 stars. I am VEGAN order the curry, chickpeas, and the roster pasta. And let me tell you! It was delicious. I am convinced that they put chicken in the chickpeas because it taste so good! I can eat it every day. And the Rasta pasta is to die for. I was pleasantly surprised at how flavorful it was. Now the service can improve. The waiters are a bit slow so when you see them ask for everything you want at once. The restaurant is such a vibe. Art everywhere, the DJ playing amazing music that make you wanna get up and dance. A time was hard for sure. read more

Dukunoo is not you're typical gimmicky wynwood establishment. The food is excellent and authentic. The vibes are immaculate, feels like you're transported to Jamaica. We made a reservation at Dukunoo for my birthday in November. We arrived at 6:30pm and the music was so loud we could barely hear ourselves talk. We were seated outside where it was even louder and they were smoking hookah in the section next to our table. We asked the server to move us to a quieter corner and she turned off the DJ stand speaker in that area for us. Overall the service was very mediocre. The food was good (except the plantain). I had jerk pork, my friends had jerk chicken. The rice was pretty decent and the cabbage was good as well. All the drinks were way too sweet. I wouldn't return for a sit down dinner, but I would consider takeout if I lived in the area. read more

NEVER HAVE I EVER BEEN TOLD BY SECURITY TO STAND OUTSIDE AND I HAVE A RESERVATION!! The customer service is terrible. Two different times I had bad experiences with there security guards. The responsibility of security is to ensure that you feel safe, not antagonize customers. the security guard at the front gave me and My girlfriends problems even walking in. the worst part of it all was I told him I had a reservation and he still was so rude. Raising his voice at me and my friends stating we should have a seat and until I am seated for my reservation then, me and my friends cannot come in and it was drizzling raining outside.. That was the first time I ever experienced anything that crazy on that level of unprofessionalism and disrespect. when I told him that I was going to inform the manager if he didn't leave me alone, he stated that he owned the security company and he did not care. read more

The food was good but the service was not. We kept having to ask for our waiter to come back and help us. We ordered bottomless mimosas and only had 3 before our waiter told us that they ran out of Champagne and they had nothing left for us. We asked for an alternative or a discount for the bottomless but he said there was nothing they can do despite the false advertisement of BOTTOMLESS mimosas. Gratuity was included which wasn't helpful since he sucked and was not accommodating. The music and ambiance was the best part but if you want to get your moneys worth I would think otherwise. read more

Place is only for people that are deemed important & superstars. We have came here twice on two different occasions to eat & haven't been able to even sit down even with reservations. We watch groups of sit 20 people get in at a time because of status while we have stayed outside to get bullied by the security. It is sad because I've eaten here before but this place has went upside down. Do not recommend unless it's day time read more

This restaurant is serious about reservations and if you don't have them on a busy weekend, good luck you'll be waiting for a good while. Expect for your purse to be glanced through as security again is serious about who walks through the door. I would have loved to rate this restaurant higher, but a lot of the things I wanted on the menu weren't available. Our waitress had a great attitude and did her best to accommodate our party. It began to rain so we were moved indoors which wasn't a problem because we were close to the DJ. One person in our group ordered the slider which is just that, one slider and she was the last person to receive her food which I thought was very odd since her meal was an app and the least complicated. I think they accidentally forgot about the order in all honesty. Now the good part, if you are patient enough to wait for your food to arrive, you won't regret it. Everything I tasted was delicious and if I wasn't at a sit down restaurant, I would've licked my bowl. There are a few improvements when it comes to what's truly available on the menu that day and the amount of time it takes to get it, but this place is a whole vibe and you should leave with a smile and a full belly or extra junk and smiling on your way out. Great place to take your friends and enjoy the food, decor and music. read more

My husband and I have visited Dukunno in Wynwood several times, and each time is a different experience and not a good one. The staff always seem to be pre-occupied doing absolutely nothing! After they sit you, we usually prefer the outside area, no one comes to serve you it's like pulling teeth to get someone to come and take your order. Next, they make you wait as if there are full to their capacity when usually there's not even that many people there. I enjoyed their veggie menu but lately, they are out of everything! They should not treat everyone alike, we are professionals and not kids and we come to support our Caribbean neighbors and want to see them succeed. The Host should be able to differentiate adults and kids by their attitude and the way they are dressed and treat them as such with Respect. The DJ actually talks way too much and messes up the vibe. read more

I definitely enjoyed the relaxed vibe of the restaurant!! Unfortunately; the service was sub par. It seemed that there was only one main waitress and one cook because everyone's food came out at different times. I enjoyed my meal of the fried whole snapper, and so did the others in my party, but because some entrees took SO long to come out, it took away from the over all experience. I'm going to write it off as short staff because of COVID and say maybe they didn't expect that much business on a Tuesday. One last thing to mention, some menu items are a little costly - MP on the snapper was $65, oxtails and a drink would be about $70. 1 ear of corn cut into 4, $9. You can't complain because of the location, but by the same token, it's worth noting. read more

The place has a great vibe but, the service needs A LOT of work. Either the server never placed our order or the kitchen is extremely slow. We waited an 1.5 hrs for an order of wings and peas and rice. When the order came it was cold. The waitress left so fast we could barely complain about our food. We asked for a second appetizer that she didn't place until after the food had arrived. I voiced my concerns with the front manager "Ruddy," he tried to be accommodating but by that point I was hungry and frustrated. All I wanted to do was find a restaurant with a functional kitchen and staff. We paid for our drinks and the one appetizer we received and left. I was visiting S. Florida so I doubt I'll give them another chance. The competition is too stiff to not make a good impression the first time. I should add, what made the experience so frustrating was two tables (one with a larger party) came after us, received their food and finished their meals while we were waiting on grilled wings and rice and peas. And I'm not talking a ten pound bag of wings. A total of 12 wings. read more

From the outside I expected an upscale, white table cloth, elevated Jamaican restaurant. What I got instead was a fun, vibrant place with a let it all hang out vibe and some yummy food. Jamaican food has a special place in my heart because its flavors are unlike anything else. A combination of tropical, Indian, African, American and Spanish influences all melt together into delectable dishes like the Jerk Chicken and rice and peas. I need to go back again to try other specialties like Curry Goat and Saltfish Fritters. More than the meal, patrons are here to get down to the infectious music that keeps the good times rolling.
