The choices on the menu were extensive. Excellent service from Matt and Alex - very friendly and attentive. Drinks brought quickly and water refills plentiful. 5 of us for dinner, including our 8 year old granddaughter. She had only wanted shrimp tacos which they no longer have. Opted for chicken fingers with fries. I had a mixed grill plate that came with fresh veggies. Tiny little crabcake, 3 shrimp, 3 scallops - $36!. Hubby had the Cioppino chowder. Too bland for him because of the overpowering tomato base. Daughter and SIL had fish and chips. Served bread and butter and I had a Virgin Mary. Amazing drink and presentation! Free dessert for my birthday ! BIG issue for me was the $300+ bill , not including tip and small portions. I really wanted to enjoy D Dukes Seafood, and I have to say the service from Paris was excellent--friendly, attentive, and definitely a bright spot in the visit. That said, the food fell short of expectations, especially given the prices. The entrées were on the smaller side, the chowder portion was minimal for the cost, and the fish and chips, unfortunately, lacked flavor and the fish was overcooked. We also tried the calamari, which didn't have much seasoning, and the special deviled eggs, which came out rubbery with a filling that needed more flavor, even with the lobster on top. The atmosphere and service were good, but the food and value just didn't line up. With some adjustments to preparation and portion sizes, this place could be much better. read more

I have been to the Duke's at Southcenter and Ruston but never have been to the one at Kent, so decided to give it a try as I read from other reviews that they allow dogs and we were in the area. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon to spend time with our fur babies while grabbing lunch. I entered inside to see if they allow outdoor seating and not only was I greeted warmly but told that they do allow outdoor seating even despite it being in late November. We were guided by the hostess to our seats with menus and then given plates, utensils and water by our waiter, Alex. He even brought our dogs a huge water bowl to share, which I thought was considerate. I received my birthday offer so I got the Oh My Cod! Fish and Chips to split with my boyfriend as well as bowl of chowder to also share. When our food arrived, our food was already plated separately which I thought was very thoughtful. Service at Duke's is always spectacular no matter which location you go to, so please visit one you haven't already or if it has been some time because the food, service and atmosphere is always a good time. Our food was made to perfection, my boyfriend and I were raving about how the fish and breading were perfect. I love the texture and taste of the coleslaw. The clam chowder was very salty, which I wasn't a huge fan of and might have to try a different soup which is unfortunate as I adore Duke's clam chowder but this is a different location but it had the same amount of salt as my previous visit at Ruston so maybe it's a change in recipe? When we were getting ready to pay and pack up our food, Alex gave us a complimentary bread to take home as well as butter for us. Located at Kent Station, this place has plenty of adequate parking. We went in during dinner time and we're promptly seated. We opted for a bowl of clam chowder, and the two piece fish and chips. The chowder was delicious. Not overly salty and not smothered in bacon or seasonings. It had a wonderful natural flavor. It was a great way to start the meal. They have options for one piece or two pieces of fish and chips. I was concerned that the two piece might be too small, but when I receive my portion , I was happy to see that it was adequately sized for a meal. Thick pieces of haddock or lightly breaded and accompanied by fries. They even gave us extra tartar sauce for dipping. Overall, a tremendous experience and well worth it. Food: Cod fish tacos were cooked perfectly. Love the cucumber salsa, the avocado and the slaw that went on it. It was some of my favorite tacos. And I eat a lot of fish tacos everywhere I go. The Dungeness crab salad was super refreshing. It had this sesame dressing that really compliments the salad. Bonus that they have outdoor dining so we can sit out with our dog. Today I took a client here for a retirement lunch. Parking is a bit tight and busy but worked out. Our server was Carlia and she and her friends were great at most everything checking in often. My fish and chips were great although a very small coke slaw that had small bits of pineapple which made me want more! She loves their crab cakes and got a "dinghy" of chowder. I thought the "salad" with it looked great. It was like a compressed large cube of chopped avocado and tomato with a cilantro topping. Almost asked for a bite. Dukes is expensive and not my usual but it was a fantastic classy choice for this outing and well worth the cost for such good food and service in a town that lacks quality fine dining IMHO. First time at the Kent location. I went on a week day. Happy hour started at 9pm until close. My server was excellent. She gave great recommendations for drinks and food. We were there past closing time and they were so kind when they had to kick us out, hahaha. It wasn't a busy night so that was cool. We could have at least quiet and cozy seat. It was first time there for us. Didn't know the place well. I didn't say anything after sold up for restroom. This was worst BD dinner ever. I've been to the location on South Lake Union prior and I recall that my impression was, meh. Awesome view of course. I'll tell you what, though, THIS is the spot to visit. Incredible service, amazing presentation and taste. We were treated like VIPs from start to finish. Tucked into Kent Station and very convenient to movies and other eateries and shopping. Parking is really not terrible if you give it a chance (knock on wood). Lovely staff here and the food is so good. Their chowder is award winning - we all know that chowder can run a spectrum; this one is both creamy AND peppery (often they are one or the other). For the entrees we got the fish and chips (you can pick what kind of fish, which is great; and also how many pieces you want) and the taco (it's a single giant taco with feta and avocado). Be sure you eat the taco as prepared. Don't try to pick it apart. You've got to taste all the flavors in combination. Highly Recommend. read more

Went to Duke's after church on recent Sunday and were very impressed. From the hostess to the server to the manager who came by to make sure we were happy, everyone was very accommodating. But the food! I ordered the shrimp appetizer with a dinghy of Lobster Mobster Pernod chowder while my wife chose the scallop ravioli. When the orders came out -- fairly quickly, I'd add -- I was blown away by my wife's selection. When I saw "scallop ravioli," I thought it would have scallops in the filling, not a full scallop on each and every one! Had I known, I'd have ordered that, too. Fortunately, my wife was generous enough to share. It was a little noisy on this particular Sunday afternoon, as it appears we weren't the only ones stopping by after church, though we MAY have been the only ones without kids. She also let us know Monday is 50% off bottles I ordered clam chowder and fish and chips. The clam chowder was good but I say Pikes Place chowder is better. The fish tasted odd. It wasn't warm or hot and seemed undercooked. The chips were tasty and crunchy but again not warm or hot. The slaw tasted good. It had sesame oil in it but it wasn't cold. The next morning we had stomach issues and everything else we ate that day were normal things we ate except for dukes. It was unfortunate as we figured out we got food poisoning. We went in for an early dinner and sat outside. It was such a lovely time! We ordered the blackberry margaritas that were delicious. I got the Parmesan crusted halibut, it came with rosemary potatoes and sautéed garlic snap peas. It was absolutely delicious. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection! I went to Dukes with my mom for a typical dinner. I ordered a crab cake sandwich without cheese, plain. When it arrived, it had cheese, so as a former server, I tried to remove it, but it had already melted. I mentioned this to Adaya (who wasn't my server), and she was incredibly rude, condescending, and disrespectful! Not only to me, but to my mom as well. She looked at me and asked, "Can we just take the cheese off?" I explained that I couldn't eat melted cheese and asked if she could make a new one. She repeated her question while rolling her eyes, asking again, "Can we just take the cheese off?" I told her I'm allergic to cheese, hoping she would stop asking. I had already told her I didn't want the sandwich with melted cheese, yet she seemed frustrated with my request. It was especially odd because she wasn't even my server, so I didn't understand why she was so upset that I wanted my order corrected. When the manager came over, they were just as rude. This was a shocking experience since Dukes usually provides excellent service. Our actual server, Aldrine, was wonderful, understanding, apologetic, and tried her best to fix the issue, though I was already uncomfortable by then. At that point I did not want a new sandwich and my mother didn't feel comfortable finishing her food. I highly suggest avoiding this location unless Aldrine is working and can be your server. She was amazing! Unfortunately, this poor service ruined my dinner date with mother, and it was a very disappointing experience. Treated us as if we weren't paying customers. Dukes has been around as long as I can remember. It's an easy choice for seafood chowder and crabcakes. Their rockfish tacos are also really good. I like their seasonal cocktail choices as well. My favorite dish of theirs is the crab cake. I would not recommend the deviled egg. It's underseasoned and underwhelming. If you want an excellent deviled egg though, I recommend Communion in Seattle. read more

I love this place for a quick seafood fix without all the frills before a movie. The quality of the seafood at this place is stellar for the price. My husband always orders the halibut stuffed with crab. My favorite is the stuffed and puffed prawns, which is shrimp stuffed with crab. We always order the calamari for appetizer, which I'm sad that they now serve half as much per order as they did in the past...but that's inflation! I used to love Dukes in Kent. For the past few years, the food has been consistently from bad to worst. Everything was salty. Their award winning clamchowder was salty with no flavor. Their lobster chowder tasted like eating candy. Their northwest by northwest seafood chowder was served cold? with no flavor. How can you go wrong with calamari. It was served with two sauces (white and red). The red sauce was super sweet. What went wrong with Dukes? The service was excellent and the sourdough bread was good. Overall, food was overpriced and bad. I left feeling bloated and disappointed. I will not return. read more

We love their seasonal outdoor dining, especially in these pandemic times. The lobster bisque is delicious. My husband loves their fish and chips; he's right that their white fish is exceptional! All of our other entrees have been good as well. They are also quite attentive to allergies and other food issues. I'd prefer less bacon in their clam chowder. The hops in the hard cider were an unwelcome addition; those aren't listed as an ingredient in the menu item, and we won't order that item again. I enjoy all the Dukes locations but this one is close to my home and so I come here the most often. Over the years the wait staff and bartenders have changed but the food remains consistently delicious. I love the oh my cod fish and chips. The fish is always fresh and delicious. The Caesar salad, although fairly bland is very good. I miss the days they had the blue cheese version but they are happy to put some blue cheese on top if you ask. They go out of their way to accommodate special requests and did I mention that the service is excellent? I recommend Dukes highly. It is a bit noisy but you can get a booth In the back. Honestly this is the second time that we have had not great food. The cod was super dry, the sauce was good but cod way over cooked. Zucchini was so hard you couldn't stick a fork in it. The calm chowder was so smokey that my fiancé only ate half the bowl (he never leaves chowder behind!) and I was hoping to eat some but only took one bite because I didn't care for it. The cajun salmon sandwich was delicious overall but had to eat it minus the bread because the bread was so hard. (Might be a person preference) and the fries were great and tarter amazing.
