Oh My Cod! Fish & Chips Combo
    Pearl L.

I have been to the Duke's at Southcenter and Ruston but never have been to the one at Kent, so decided to give it a try as I read from other reviews that they allow dogs and we were in the area. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon to spend time with our fur babies while grabbing lunch. I entered inside to see if they allow outdoor seating and not only was I greeted warmly but told that they do allow outdoor seating even despite it being in late November. We were guided by the hostess to our seats with menus and then given plates, utensils and water by our waiter, Alex. He even brought our dogs a huge water bowl to share, which I thought was considerate. I received my birthday offer so I got the Oh My Cod! Fish and Chips to split with my boyfriend as well as bowl of chowder to also share. When our food arrived, our food was already plated separately which I thought was very thoughtful. Service at Duke's is always spectacular no matter which location you go to, so please visit one you haven't already or if it has been some time because the food, service and atmosphere is always a good time. Our food was made to perfection, my boyfriend and I were raving about how the fish and breading were perfect. I love the texture and taste of the coleslaw. The clam chowder was very salty, which I wasn't a huge fan of and might have to try a different soup which is unfortunate as I adore Duke's clam chowder but this is a different location but it had the same amount of salt as my previous visit at Ruston so maybe it's a change in recipe? When we were getting ready to pay and pack up our food, Alex gave us a complimentary bread to take home as well as butter for us. Thank you Alex for being an absolute fantastic waiter and we hope to be back in a future visit.

Food: Cod fish tacos were cooked perfectly. Love the cucumber salsa, the avocado and the slaw that went on it. It was some of my favorite tacos. And I eat a lot of fish tacos everywhere I go. The Dungeness crab salad was super refreshing. It had this sesame dressing that really compliments the salad. Bonus that they have outdoor dining so we can sit out with our dog. Service was prompt and the staff were all very helpful and friendly.

First time at the Kent location. I went on a week day. Happy hour started at 9pm until close. My server was excellent. She gave great recommendations for drinks and food. We were there past closing time and they were so kind when they had to kick us out, hahaha. It wasn't a busy night so that was cool. I prefer the other locations on the water but this one I think I will try to frequent more because it seems like a pretty low key spot.

In town from Houston. Read the reviews and decided to give this place a try. From the moment we were seated our server Edward was very friendly and helpful. Very attentive to our needs. My friend had the Blueberry Lemon drop and I had the Oh Mai Tai cocktails. Both were awesome. For dinner we had Halibut dinners. Both plates were delish. Well worth the splurge. Restaurant atmosphere was excellent. Everyone should visit if you're looking for fresh seafood and friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

I've been to the location on South Lake Union prior and I recall that my impression was, meh. Awesome view of course. I'll tell you what, though, THIS is the spot to visit. Incredible service, amazing presentation and taste. We were treated like VIPs from start to finish. Tucked into Kent Station and very convenient to movies and other eateries and shopping. Parking is really not terrible if you give it a chance (knock on wood). Lovely staff here and the food is so good. Their chowder is award winning - we all know that chowder can run a spectrum; this one is both creamy AND peppery (often they are one or the other). For the entrees we got the fish and chips (you can pick what kind of fish, which is great; and also how many pieces you want) and the taco (it's a single giant taco with feta and avocado). Be sure you eat the taco as prepared. Don't try to pick it apart. You've got to taste all the flavors in combination. Highly Recommend.

Dukes is tried and true! I love their food and Carlia provides the best service around. I thoroughly enjoy sitting on their umbrella covered patio sipping cucumber mojitos. Dukes has hands down the best calamari in the state and their salads are always on point. All-in-all you can't go wrong with any menu item. Cheers!!

    Scallop ravioli

Went to Duke's after church on recent Sunday and were very impressed. From the hostess to the server to the manager who came by to make sure we were happy, everyone was very accommodating. But the food! I ordered the shrimp appetizer with a dinghy of Lobster Mobster Pernod chowder while my wife chose the scallop ravioli. When the orders came out -- fairly quickly, I'd add -- I was blown away by my wife's selection. When I saw "scallop ravioli," I thought it would have scallops in the filling, not a full scallop on each and every one! Had I known, I'd have ordered that, too. Fortunately, my wife was generous enough to share. It was a little noisy on this particular Sunday afternoon, as it appears we weren't the only ones stopping by after church, though we MAY have been the only ones without kids. Nonetheless, and enjoyable lunch that we'll definitely repeat.

The food here was really good. I don't know if the restaurant serving staff gets off early but we had no service after 8pm.

This classic, no-frills spot carries a nostalgic charm, with a casual, welcoming atmosphere that makes it feel like a staple of the community. It's the kind of place where the focus isn't on trends or presentation, but on delivering satisfying, flavorful food that keeps people coming back. The Hamburger perfectly captures that philosophy. It's simple--nothing overly dressed up or complicated--but that's exactly what makes it shine. The patty is cooked well, with a satisfying sear that brings out the natural flavor of the beef, while the bun and toppings complement rather than overwhelm. Every bite feels balanced, familiar, and genuinely delicious, like a reminder of how good a straightforward burger can be when it's done right. The California Burger steps things up with a more layered flavor profile. The meat is cooked just right--juicy, tender, and full of flavor--and paired with fresh toppings that add both texture and brightness. There's a satisfying richness to it, but it never feels too heavy. Each component works together seamlessly, creating a burger that feels indulgent without losing that classic drive-in appeal. Another standout is the Onion Burger, which might be the most memorable of the bunch. The patty is cooked to a juicy perfection, locking in flavor with every bite. What truly elevates it, though, are the caramelized onions. They're soft, slightly sweet, and deeply savory, blending into the burger in a way that feels effortless. The combination of the rich beef and the perfectly cooked onions creates a harmony that's hard to beat. Not everything hits the same high note, however. The Calamari Rings were a bit of a letdown. There was a slightly off-putting seafood smell that took away from the experience, and the breading felt excessive--so much so that it would fall off easily. On top of that, they leaned a bit too greasy, making them heavier than expected and lacking the crisp, clean bite that good calamari should have. Despite that one misstep, The Family Drive-In excels where it matters most. It delivers consistently great burgers that highlight quality, simplicity, and flavor. For anyone craving a classic drive-in experience with satisfying, well-executed burgers, this spot is an easy recommendation and well worth the visit.

Definitely the best thing we got. Cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The fish and prawns were beautifully fried with panko breading. However, the fish, prawns, and fries were very under seasoned leaving them all very bland unless they were dipped in sauce. The tartar and fry sauce were delicious and needed for the fries, fish, and prawns. If we come back, it will be for the burger!

The space is simple and functional, with wooden tables, a laid-back setup, and that unmistakable energy of people ready to dig into messy, hands-on seafood boils. It's the kind of place where gloves, napkins, and cracking shells are all part of the experience, and that authenticity adds to the charm. The star of the visit was Combo #6, a generous spread that comes loaded with 1 lb of mussels, 1 lb of snow crab, 1 lb of shrimp, along with potatoes and corn. On paper, it sounds like a seafood feast--and visually, it absolutely delivers when it hits the table, drenched in their signature house special sauce. Starting with the mussels, they soak up the sauce beautifully. Each bite is juicy and briny, with that ocean flavor amplified by the rich, garlicky, buttery kick of the house sauce. The seasoning doesn't just sit on the surface--it seeps into every shell, making each bite bold and satisfying. The snow crab is easily one of the highlights. The meat is tender, slightly sweet, and pulls cleanly from the shell. Paired with the house sauce, it hits that perfect balance between natural seafood sweetness and spicy, savory richness. It's messy, indulgent, and exactly what you want from a Cajun-style boil. The shrimp are equally impressive--plump, well-cooked, and easy to peel. They carry the sauce exceptionally well, giving you that full punch of flavor in every bite without being overpowered. The texture is spot-on, not rubbery or overdone, which can sometimes be a gamble with seafood boils. Even the sides--potatoes and corn--deserve recognition. They might seem like fillers, but here they act as flavor sponges, absorbing all that seasoned sauce and delivering surprisingly satisfying bites in between the seafood. They help round out the meal and keep it from feeling one-dimensional. What really ties everything together is that house special sauce. It's rich, garlicky, buttery, slightly spicy, and deeply flavorful--arguably the backbone of the entire experience. It's the kind of sauce that makes you want extra bread or rice just to soak up every last drop, and it's consistently praised as a standout feature of the restaurant. That said, while the flavors are undeniably strong, the biggest drawback comes down to value. Combo #6 sits at a noticeably high price point (around the mid-$90 range), and while the quality and taste are there, the portion doesn't quite feel like it fully justifies the cost. You get a good spread, but not an overwhelming one--especially if you're sharing or expecting a truly massive boil for that price. It leans more toward a "treat yourself" meal rather than something you'd regularly order without thinking twice. Some diners have also noted that prices have crept up over time while portions haven't significantly increased, reinforcing that slight mismatch between cost and quantity. Overall, Crawfish Chef delivers where it matters most--flavor. Combo #6 is rich, satisfying, and packed with well-seasoned seafood that keeps you reaching for the next bite. The house sauce alone makes it memorable. However, the higher price tag makes it feel more like an occasional indulgence rather than a go-to value meal. If you're craving a flavorful, hands-on seafood boil experience in Kent, it absolutely hits the spot--but just be prepared to pay a bit more than you might expect for the amount you get.
