Well first off... If you grew up in the greater Seattle area you may remember Herfy's Burgers. The one with the 70's orange and red tile and the "Puff Pastry" apple and cherry turnovers.. Ahhh. Well they don't have the turnovers but they do have the tile. We went there on our way to a concert at White River Amphitheater. This is one of the cleanest fast food type establishment I have been to, period. I had looked at the menu before we got there and had already decided on the Halibut and Chips. Well I was not disappointed. 3 nice size, nicely done pieces of fish. Batter was nothing too special though not too thick and nice and crispy. Fish was tender and moist! Crinkle frys were done a bit crispy and held the fry sauce nicely. The single cheese burger was better than most. Just sloppy enough to need to wipe your face but not greasy. The Deep Fried Mushrooms were ok. They were a bit greasy and lacked flavor. They tasted like, well Mushrooms!! All told it was a great experience and we will go back. To start, I would honestly give this place 5 stars, but their lobby hours are flaky and as a local in the Trek apartments a block away, for whom taking their car out of the parking garage and going through the drive-thru is actually longer than simply walking there, the inconvenience of walking there 1.5 hours before their closing time only to find the lobby closed was too much. It would be different if I could ever find hours posted specifically for their lobby, but there aren't any on the website, nor on the door. I'll have to just ask the next time I go in, but even then... I should be able to find this information easily, so I feel justified docking some stars for the inconvenience, either way. But all that being said, when I was a kid this place was called Herfy's and it doesn't seem to have changed much since changing the name. The food is really very deep-fried, so you're not coming here for a healthy snack, but man is it tasty. I recommend the Maui Hawaiian Chicken, the Fried Zucchini with ranch, and their Mozzarella sticks with marinara. Their milkshakes are really good, as well. Oh, and their service is really great. Some of the conversations I've heard from the staff lack professionalism, but in a sort of small-town, small business kinda way, so as long as everyone there is comfortable with it, I'm fine with it. read more

The portions in this place are huge so go hungry. We haven't eaten here since 2020 and I drive by every time I'm in Auburn. Woke up wanting a burger but ended up with a fish sandwich. Was super good, the fish nice and crispy but again I could only eat half it was so huge and the price was really good $9.99. My husband got a mushroom swiss burger which was also huge but he said delicious. I didn't realize his was a combo so ordered onion rings as well. The sides are where they fall down. the fries are obviously right out of the freezer, nothing fresh about them and the onion rings were slightly overdone. they do give you a nice dipping sauce with the sides. Hubs had a strawberry milkshake which he said was nice and thick. I ordered on line, the food was ready when i got there 10 minutes later and held up well on the drive home. The food came out fast and was hot. I was pleasantly surprised on how big the shrimp was and the amount that was given. The breading was flavorful as well, usually the breading on shrimp lacks flavor but this one did and it tasted good. Also they do refills on drinks you just have to ask for one. read more

Always have nice fish and chips. Not overly greasy, good golden crust. Quick service. Good to satisfy the fish n chips craving when you are short on time and don't rant a long commute. Priced well. Go inside and order because if you go through the drive thru they ignore your order they always get things wrong and you will end up driving back I received a partial fry no where near a full large fry and I asked for and was charged for ranch that I did not get. The seating area was clean and the ladies working the counter were friendly and helpful answering our questions. My burger was juicy and delicious. My friend's root beer milkshake was thick and creamy. The onion rings were okay, the smaller ones seemed to have too much batter that made them mushy. I came across this cute burger place right in the middle of downtown Auburn. I tried the crispy chicken sandwich, sub the drink for a Oreo milkshake. Here's my review: Oreo shake- delicious! I couldn't stop slurping on this before I got my sandwich. It's not too sweet and it wasn't overly thick or too thin. Perfect! Crispy chicken- I'm not too sure about this one. It tasted a lot like a McChicken. Given the shop name, I'm thinking they didn't put much effort into perfecting their chicken sandwich. It wasn't bad but the meat reminded me a lot of our popular fast food joint and had me questioning what was possibly in it. It was a generic chicken patty, I wouldn't recommend it. French fries- I was the most excited about trying these because I love crinkle fries and not very many places offer them. Unfortunately, they will full of oil and had a slight fishy taste to them. Not sure if they're frying their fries in the same oil as their fish, vegetarians be aware. Price of this meal was $19.83, a bit pricey for a generic meal in my opinion. read more

This was a really fun little place, I've only used the drive-thru and gone in the front door once. Each. Food was great. As far as just being kind of a burger joint, they also have fish and it was delicious. The manager Lillie there is beyond rude. Got lunch there earlier this week and she was visably annoyed and short while taking my order. Had to come back because my burger was messed up and when of the girls grabbed the manager, which ended up being her, and she had the most disgusting attitude about me asking for it to be fixed. Food is good and the other girls are nice but unfortunately this isn't the first time shes taken my order and been unfriendly. Definitely needs to work on her customer.. service especially being the manager. read more

The burgers are good, a bit messy in a good way. I tried egg on my bacon double cheeseburger and my bun was soaked by the yolk, so that wasn't great. I've also tried the fish and chips - not my favorite. The service is usually fast and they tend to get orders correct. I'll take this over McDs, etc any day. I haven't been to Cow and Cod since the name change and was skeptical about going back because I was unsure if it was the same owners and same old food. I went in with a million questions and Tamara was so patient with me and answered every question I had. She recommended a burger to me and her favorite shake flavor and it was a great meal! Even better than before the name change! Restaurant is incredibly clean, you'll always see the girls wiping down tables and counters and won't hesitate to give you great recommendation and friendly conversations. I love cow and cod. It's a really good restaurant. I like the Hawaiian burger and the fish and chips. You have to eat your Hawaiian Burger fast so the pineapple doesn't make the bread soft. But other than that it is fantastic. They have great prices and a good amount of seating. We eat here all the time. Service is great also. By far a five star. read more

First visit to Cow and Cod and loved it! Had a double burger and it huge and delicious. Also, their French fries, which are crinkle fries, are cooked perfectly, and is even better with their house fry sauce. We haven't tried anything else but we will be back for more. Highly recommend! read more
