Duke's all you can eat BBQ buffet is a must-try! We were immediately greeted when we entered. The cashier gave us a brief description of what all was at the buffet bar. The pulled pork was incredibly tender and flavorful. The sides were all top-notch - the mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy, the collard greens were perfectly seasoned, and the fried chicken was moist and juicy. The service was friendly and attentive. The only disappoint was they didn't have any ribs at the buffet when I visited for lunch. I would recommend for a quick casual lunch or dinner! They do charge you a convenience fee if you pay with a credit card....didn't like that. I was not told about the convenience charge, didn't know until I checked my reciept.

The chicken, pork, hash, & especially the macaroni & green beans were quite good! Also that place was Spic & Span clean from the lot, the tables, outside, the buffet, indoor seating area, & as far as you could see into the kitchen. Someone even came out cleaning the windows on the inside. I have eaten at some upscale restaurants & the glass and window seals were dusty and dirty. Not here.

I wish closer to 3.5 was an option. They're super friendly, and the pricing is pretty reasonable for a buffet in 2025. The pork is good, and the mustard sauce and hush puppies are great. But the rest is just pretty ok. The vegetables are vegetables, but not super flavorful. The mac and cheese /looked/ like it was going to be amazing but wasn't that flavorful either. I would go again, but mostly because I don't think there are a ton of similar options.

Okay so this is my first time ever getting Dukes. Its a small building that's keeping a lot of great thing inside them 4 walls. I did drive thru which was so great getting to order at the window rather than at the menu. Its so much more personal. Service was great. I got the fried chicken plate with Mac collards and hash and rice. All of it was delicious. My husband had the same sides but the pork. I can't say enough how good it is!

Super awesome spot! We used to go to the Dukes in Ridgeville all the time. Happy this one is closer to us. My husband loves this spot, especially on a Friday night when he can get fish, too! The staff is super friendly and the restaurant is very clean. The food is super hot and very fresh. Tastes just like my grandma made it- good home cooking!!

For $14, you get some "good old boy" barbecue, fried chicken, and just enough sides. The hush puppies are always super crunchy and plentiful. Coming back from the beach towards downtown on a Saturday, you can't beat this deal! The pork is always cooked perfectly and is complimented well with the KC style smoky sauce. Throw a few pickles on there, some hot sauce, and you're in heaven. We'd love to see some buffalo sauce, fresher veggies, and fresh cut fries. Most of what you see is canned and sides are all prepped ahead of time. Yes, Mr. Duke, we'd GLADLY pay $20 per head for these upgrades!

I recently ordered some pans of sides for a party. I had a friend pick them up for me, and once she brought the sides to the party, I realized two things: I ordered full pans but was sent half-pans, and I was given two sides of rice and no Mac and cheese when I ordered rice and Mac. At about this time, an employee from Duke's called (and texted when I didn't hear to answer) to explain the mix-up. I had a party guest go back to Duke's to pick up the macaroni. We made do with the half-pans, but these were not the "1 pan feeds 15-20" advertised on their catering page. Everything had good flavor, but I was disappointed in the service we received and the size of pans I received compared to what I ordered.

I ordered the 1/2 honey fried chicken w/ mac & cheese and collard greens. For dessert, we shared pecan pie. The chicken was moist & delicious from being brined and seasoning in the batter. The batter was crunchy, and perfectly applied so you didn't bite into a hunk of just batter. Likewise, the sides were some of the best I had during my trip to SC. Lastly, the pecan pie was really good also. However, I was expecting a bigger & taller slice. Regarding the ambiance, its smart casual here. The decor is fancier vs the down home cooking. Danielle took very good care of us. She was friendly & attentive. Florence's did the trick for us. We had eaten a lot of raw seafood and BBQ. My friend said the tomato pie was really good but it's all cheese and tomatoes. The fried green tomatoes were crispy but needed seasoning. They were incredibly bland. For the main dish she ordered the smash burger and I ordered the fish and grits. She took one bite of the smash burger and sent it back saying it tasted like a frozen burger you'd get at Walmart. The fish and grits were ok. They too were bland and needed salt. A LOT of salt or any other seasoning. The okra, Lima beans and corn that come in this dish also tasted like it came out of a frozen bag. There is no seasoning in this dish whatsoever. Unfortunately this place was a miss and we won't be returning. Also the bathrooms look like a porta potty. You know the cheap plastic that porta potties are made out of? Yeah that's what the stalls are made out of. It looks so cheap and a big contrast from the rest of the restaurant. The staff was nice but they also look like they hate working here.

First Visit to Husk -- Worth Every Bit of the Hype…read more After hearing so much about Husk over the years, we finally made our first visit--and somehow it still exceeded every expectation. Housed in a beautifully restored historic Charleston home, Husk perfectly captures everything you love about the city's charm. From the moment you walk through the doors, the atmosphere feels warm, elegant, and inviting. We were seated upstairs in a gorgeous dining room where the tables were thoughtfully spaced, making the experience feel intimate rather than crowded. The hospitality was outstanding from start to finish, but our server, Chris, truly made the evening unforgettable. He welcomed us with genuine enthusiasm and, after taking our cocktail orders, walked us through the menu--which changes daily. Rather than simply listing dishes, Chris described each one in detail, explaining the flavors, ingredients, and preparations with such passion that you couldn't help but get excited about every option. It's rare to meet someone who so clearly loves what they do, and his knowledge and personality elevated our entire dining experience. We started with the Yellowfin Tuna Crudo and the Woodfired Oysters. The tuna, paired with delicate slices of cantaloupe, sounded like an unusual combination on paper, but somehow it was absolute perfection. Every bite was fresh, bright, and beautifully balanced. The oysters arrived warm, buttery, and perfectly seasoned--simple, yet incredibly satisfying. For my entrée, I ordered the Seared Diver Scallops served over creamed corn. I'll admit, I was hesitant because creamed corn has never been one of my favorites. But after Chris encouraged me to trust the dish--and after seeing how incredible the appetizers were--I went for it. I'm so glad I did. The scallops were perfectly seared, tender, and sweet, while the creamed corn was rich, fresh, and nothing like the version I had imagined. It completely changed my mind. My husband chose the Rabbit Roulade, which was cooked beautifully with just the right amount of spice to keep each bite interesting without overwhelming the dish. We also shared the Hearth-Baked Skillet Cornbread, and if you're debating whether to order it...don't. Just do it. It's absolutely worth it. Then came dessert. Chris walked us through several tempting options, including a mud pie, a watermelon ice pie, and a peach cobbler, along with Husk's house-made ice creams featuring flavors like Chocolate Peanut Butter and Key Lime Pie (plus a refreshing fruit sorbet). We settled on the Peach Cobbler along with scoops of the Chocolate Peanut Butter and Key Lime Pie ice creams. Every single bite was phenomenal. The cobbler tasted like summer in a bowl, while both ice creams were so flavorful and creamy that we kept passing them back and forth trying to decide which one we liked better. Spoiler alert: we never could. From the stunning historic setting and exceptional service to the thoughtfully crafted food, Husk delivered an experience that reminded us why Charleston has become such an incredible food destination. If Husk has been sitting on your "one day" list, consider this your sign. Make the reservation. Trust your server. Order dessert. And enjoy every single bite.

Our bartender was incredibly sweet and helpful when it came to choosing what to order and made us feel welcome from the start. There was also live music that night, which my husband was especially excited about since they were playing 80s covers. This was not my dish so I only got a taste and next time we go back I'm going to get this for myself! - grilled salmon sald - 5*5, arugula, couscous, dried fruit, pine nuts, feta, lemon shallot vinaigrette (this dressing is so delicoius! It was solid but not something to write home about (or on Yelp about) - corn muffins - 5*5, i'm pretty sure the corn muffins came as the "bread" for the table and they were so yummy! During our five days in Charleston, it seemed like just about every restaurant had she-crab soup on the menu, but I waited until visiting 82 Queen to finally give it a try. I don't have any other she-crab soup to compare it to, but I can say it was absolutely delicious. Consider me a fan. After five days of enjoying Charleston's incredible food scene, we were looking for a lighter lunch since we were planning to splurge later that evening at Halls Chophouse. My wife and I split the southern tomato pie and the chicken salad wrap, and the combination was perfect. Both dishes were fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we were looking for at that point in our trip. Our waitress was very nice! She was very helpful with her recommendations and very attentive. My husband and I both ordered drinks and my daughter ordered a Shirley Temple. Her Shirley Temple was extremely grenadine heavy, which I think they assumed they were doing her a favor, but she was a bit overwhelmed by how sweet it was. They serve it with a Sprite instead of Ginger Ale, just FYI. For dinner, I of course had to order the She Crab soup. Believe the hype! It was the best She Crab soup I had in Charleston. It was sheer perfection. I ordered the Skillet Chicken Cutlets and my husband had the Braised Beef Short Ribs. His dinner was delicious, the short ribs were so soft and tender and just melted in your mouth. I enjoyed the few bites of his more than my chicken, even though my meal was still good. There was A LOT of corn with my meal, but everything had such a great taste to it. We rounded the dinner off with a piece of Pecan Pie and vanilla ice cream which was very good as well.
