The space is huge and includes three floors. I spent some time browsing and got carried away with the available options. Once I found a set of dishes I liked, I pulled the store owner and asked if they could separate sets. He gave me a few options 1.) Buy the set 2.) Browse upstairs and downstairs for individual dish items to create my own set 3.) They would lease the entire set to me at full price and allow me to pay 20% so long as I return it within two weeks. This is a game changer! Having access to an entire antique mall to source items and lease them at a fraction of the cost is INSANE. This is definitely a spot I will return to for their great selection, stellar customer service, and flexibility for photographers. They even asked that I share the photos with them. I ended up creating my own little breakfast set and it was such a great experience.

Now you may think you are parking in a memory care apartment complex because you are. That's a part of this original Farmstead property. They take pride in MN. You'll find anything made by a local MN artisan here. There's a section devoted to just the MN State Fair. It may be stuffed to the brim with things, but it is organized well. Bath, body, kitchen, cabin, baby, faith, sports, fashion, treats. I usually want it all. And it's a great place to find a birthday or thank you gift. They offer gift cards and have offered basic gift-wrapping in the past (ribbon tied on the bag). They also host artisan markets to showcase some vendors. They gave me a postcard for an upcoming event, which includes food trucks. Sis and I stopped in on our way to the Downtown Anoka shops. But I found everything for my bday peeps here. Like so many of these thrifty antique stores (some of them literally right around the corner, across the street AND next door to this place), The Loft so much bigger than it looks. The first floor isn't huge, but the basement goes on forever. It's just room after room of interesting oldies, but goodies. The woman upstairs was on the phone a lot, but she was still friendly. The guy working downstairs was helping someone move a piece out of the basement, but he still took the time to say hello. Kinda small, but appreciate that stuff. :) The specialty is clearly home-related merchandise, and I'd recommend checking The Loft out for furniture like credenzas, sofa tables, buffets, dressers and the like. There were a lot of cool options for that kind of furniture and all of it natural, beautiful wood and most of it in good shape. Also those antlers. Lots of mounted antlers of all shapes and sizes and most in the $50-75 range. The jewelry that I saw wasn't anything special and I didn't see much in the way of clothing aside from a few coats and fur stoles. The prices were moderate. I picked up a couple of items and was surprised at the higher-than-I'd've-thought expense, but mostly moderate. [I'd've=probably not a word.] In addition, I overheard a woman buying set of silverware haggle mildly with the shopkeeper and they knocked 10% off. A good reminder to me that it never hurts to ask for a better price at an antique store!

The best part is that a majority of the new items are all locally sourced and hand-crafted by local artists. I feel as if all items are reasonably priced even the hand-crafted section. WBL offers historic charm in general, but so does this shop. Located just a touch off the main drag, there are also a few other shops inside this building as well. The setup here is calming to me and offers a nice flow. From the handmade goodies to printed tee shirts and sweatshirts to jewelry to thrifted handbags to clothes to art supplies, there is something for everyone. Offering light art classes in the back of the space on a giant table, make sure to grab a flyer when you're in next or check the website. For just a small fee, you could be the new owner of a piece of art crafted by you. In addition, shopping here is a great place to get gifts whether that's for a baby shower, birthday or holiday. I love a good thrift shop and reducing waste, and they had a nice little selection of clothes, well organized and for decent prices. That fell to one side of the store, and the other had to local t-shirts and makers creations that are fun to find in town. I didn't have a ton of time to explore, but they were super nice and even had a table for kids to play at while parents shopped, and I look forward to going back next time I'm in town!
