It's a quirky little gem that adds a bit of whimsy to an otherwise tedious airport day. Video Review will be posted on Tik Tok and Instagram soon @Foxyappetite In depth review: During a recent 5-hour layover on my way back to Montreal, I found myself wandering through The Frivolous Store at MSP, and it turned out to be the perfect distraction from the usual airport grind. Located in Concourse G, the store is like a playful little escape from the monotony of travel. The vibe is light-hearted, with its colorful displays and quirky assortment of items that immediately draw you in. The selection is as eclectic as it gets--think funky socks, inflatable travel pillows, funny t-shirts, silly gadgets, and some random, offbeat snacks. It's not a place for practical travel gear or serious souvenirs, but if you're in the mood for something fun or weird, this store has you covered. I ended up picking up a silly toy just for laughs, and it was the perfect lighthearted memento to break up my long wait. As for quality, it's hit or miss. Some things, like the travel gadgets, seem decently made, while others, like novelty snacks and t-shirts, feel a little flimsy. The prices are pretty typical for an airport--higher than you'd find elsewhere, but not outrageous. The staff was friendly and helpful, though it wasn't the kind of shopping experience where you'll get detailed advice or anything too specialized. The store's charm lies in its ability to make you smile, not in its seriousness.

I was…read morestuck due to delays for over four hours at the airport for my next flight home, so I had a ton of time to kill. After eating at Settebello's and walking aimlessly through the airport, I decided to go shopping to kill time. I walked into Frivolous because the name amused me. I was definitely glad I did come. The store is fantastic. Its a home decor store, and I totally love home decor. The store is also full of items that definitely appeal to someone who is sarcastic and has a sense of humor, which I certainly am. I killed a good amount of time at this store, chuckling as I perused through its wares. I wonder if the store employees thought i was weird? There are home decor items for the yard, kitchen, bath, bedroom, just about everywhere in your home. Besides the items that are humorous, there are nice tasteful items for those of a more serious bent. Pet owners will also love this store, as there are many items also geared to them. Anyway, I did end up buying something nice for my mom out of this store, and I totally regret I did not buy some other things while going through the pictures. Next time I am at the Minneapolis airport, I will come back and buy some more stuff. Wonderful store! I would recommend that a shopping trip here if you are in the Minneapolis Airport!

I then choose another mug and a keychain because my flight was soon, I put on the counter for her to check out and just browse thru stickers real quick, she doesn't ring it up... I have to tell her to please ring it up. Then she rings it up, and she pushes the item to me to take AS IS?!? A mug??? A delicate item??? So I ask if they wrap it? She's says yes then processeds to move ridiculously slow and acts dumb. She wraps it once then I'm like ok once isn't enough, can I have two more? One to wrap it again and one to hold the item, she says yes. Then she only gives me one and says "two is too much". The most absolutely ridiculous thing to hear given how pricey the store is. It was an Indian elderly lady, I'm not sure if her name is "Opr Mulu"? That's what it says on the receipt. But WORST customer services ever received while visiting in Minnesota. Somebody this slow shouldn't be working at an airport given it's a fast pace environment.

West Seventh

Ok. A friend of a friend had a opening night photo exhibit here so I made this page, made a Yelp…read moreevent, all in the hopes of getting people to the show because the photos were that cool. And now a review of the space, because like the photos, this place is that cool and now, I have a better understanding of what it's all about, sort of. So the place has been open for about 5.5 months. A warm inviting storefront with the inside filled with local artist inspirations. Prices range from the Wow! That will look kick ass in my place (for the most frugal shopper) to Wow! That will look kick ass in my place! (for the person with some deep, pockets). Everything that's sold are one-of-a-kind pieces and are quite amazing. From paper mache' sculptures (definitely worth checking out) , New Zealand reclaimed wood tables, low temp fired ceramics, paintings with prices all over the spectrum and of course, photography and more. The cool thing though is that with the gallery owner, Nance, has space in the back which could be used for other events besides showings. Not big events, but smaller ones and obviously you would need to talk to her about what your trying to do but she came off as pretty cool and open to ideas. Nance has history of doing things in the city around the arts scene and if you've been to Macy's for their holiday display, you've seen her work. This part of West 7th (3-4 block area?) is really starting to pop and one could park in the middle and walk around, eat, drink, and shop their way to the different businesses and this place, is definitely worth a stop.

It's not the place for budget shoppers, but if you're a fan, it's a great little slice of musical history right in the airport. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you have time to appreciate Prince's legacy before catching your flight. Video Review will be posted on Tik Tok and Instagram soon @Foxyappetite In depth review: During my long layover at MSP on my way home to Montreal, I couldn't resist checking out the Prince Store, especially as a fan of his music. Situated in Concourse F, the store is a tribute to the legendary artist, and it's clear they've done a great job of curating a space that feels both celebratory and fitting for an airport. It's small, but packed with Prince memorabilia that instantly transports you into his world. The selection is impressive--everything from classic albums, vinyl records, and books to exclusive merchandise like t-shirts, hats, and even a few more niche items like limited-edition posters. For any Prince fan, this is a must-stop. The quality of the products is solid, and you can tell that the store carefully chooses items that pay homage to his iconic style, from his signature purple hue to his funky logo designs. I picked up a t-shirt and a collectible item, both of which felt like genuine keepsakes. The prices are typical for airport shops--higher than you'd find at a regular store, but considering it's a Prince-specific store, you're paying a bit of a premium for exclusivity. Still, for true fans, it's worth it to have a unique piece of memorabilia to bring home. Customer service is friendly, though there's not much interaction beyond checking out. It's a smaller, more specialized space, so it's pretty hands-off, which works given the nature of the shop.
