The sauce and cheese blended into perfection. I had the cheese pizza and it was absolutely amazing. My wife had the pasta and that was amazing too. My only regret was not trying the wings. Totally felt like I've written a review for Due Amici. It's one of my favorite spots in town and has been for quite some time. It's hard not to visit them when I'm in Ybor City. The quality of their pizza is higher than most of the spots in town and you can taste the difference. It's a little bit more expensive than competitors as well ($3-5 a slice) - but quality isn't cheap. They also have a wide variety of Italian food, wine, and beer. The service is your typical take-out pizza spot setup, come-in and point what you want and boom you're in and out. Plenty of seating if you want to stay and eat there. The best part is that it is open late. They close at 3am on the weekends so you can get a quality pizza even when the reliable chains have all closed their doors. P.S. I have always fantasized what life would be like if I lived among a joyful Italian family. Holidays would be full of rejoice and the spread of carbohydrate laden dishes full of flavor. Even a Sunday afternoon would likely have better quality than most others at their best. Sadly, I do not have this reality, but when I go to Due Amici I get an experience as close to this as I can hope. Sitting down at their table is as if you just walked through the front door of their home because the staff make you feel like family. Large shareable dishes are passed around. Wine bottles are shifting hands and as soon as one is emptied another falls in line right behind. On my first encounter I ordered the chicken parmesan because this is a dish that not only can be compared apples to apples among Italian restaurants, but also an easy judge of character because one can easily cut corners. Not here though. Not now. I encountered an IFBB pro sized chicken breast lightly battered and breaded prior to a quick dip in the grease leaving behind any extra oil that was not bringing value to the plate. A spaghetti base and a homemade red sauce rounded out the profile. One I would definitely swipe right on again. In summary, probably my favorite Italian place in Tampa. Shoutout to my boyfriend for introducing me to my new love, Due Amici. This pizza spot means everything to me. I'm not sure how I have lived in Tampa for so long and missed stopping in. This is the BEST pizza in my opinion here's why: This place is located in the middle of Ybor which is walking distance from any bar in the area. So when I crave a slice after a few drinks, Due Amici is right there. Oh, yea and the best part is that they are open super late almost every day so even on an odd weeknight, I can still have pizza. For a pizza shop in Ybor, this place is really clean and has an awesome staff who never seem to take a break. I have gone at so many different times and the place is always busy. They are always making new pizzas or serving guests which is awesome. I like the hustle and bustle of the shop. Now, if we are talking pizza, my recommendation is the barbeque chicken. THIS IS THE BEST BBQ CHICKEN I HAVE EVER HAD. Not only does the pizza look good but it tastes even better. The sauce they use is a sweet bbq, which for some magical reason, just meshes so well. The slices themselves are also super big so one is usually enough for me. I will say the one kinda weird thing is that they have off-brand soda. While I know it probably tastes exactly the same, I just can't get myself to try it. So either I order the pizza to go and grab a soda from the 7-11 or I opt for water. I have decided this is probably my favorite restaurant/food place in the Tampa area. Husband told me about it and so we went on a little date day. Downtown Ybor on a Monday afternoon was perfect. We got the experience of the area but didn't have to search high and low for parking. They sell pizza by the slice or full order but their by the slice or item is the ticket to this super cute location. They offered pizza, calzones, double decker, and garlic knots by piece or slice, which is always a win. I ordered buffalo chicken and chicken bacon ranch slices. My husband got the meats double decker and buffalo chicken as well. The slices were huge. I could have probably been satisfied by one slice but who only has one!?! Not this girl. The pizza was thin crust but unlike your typical Tampa thin crust, it wasn't soggy but perfectly cooked yet perfectly crunchy to the bite. The flavor was pretty good. I will say the ambiance of the location definitely added to the experience because it was small and simple yet felt large and upscale. I will say that I wasn't a huge fan of the chicken on the pizza due to the fact it was more like a chicken tender cut up and added to the pizza where I believe a grilled chicken would have been a better flavor. Amazing pizza spot in the heart of downtown! I was driving through late at night and passed up dominos to try a high rated local spot and boy am I glad I did! I was taken aback at the high prices and inability to chose the size. Their pizzas are HUGE. Couldn't fit it on my lap in the car ride home with my pregnant belly. Quite the sight! We got an Fresca Pizza and a drink which for some reason the drink was a requirement when ordering online? It was a Thursday night around 10pm and originally said my order would take 15-20 minutes but once I placed the order it said 1+ hours. I immediately called and was assured that it would be ready in 5 minutes. I arrived 10 minutes later and waited another 10 minutes. I was given a free water bottle for my wait and the staff was incredibly friendly. The Fresca pizza was just that FRESH! Tomato, basil, mozzarella, balsamic, their amazing sauce, and perfect dough were a stellar combo! My only critique is that the tomatoes were mealy but I attribute that to it not being tomato season. The sauce is seriously to die for and unlike any I've had before. Some of the best pizza I've had in the south! Fantastic pizza. We had lunch today and ordered the large supreme pizza. Why get a slice when you can have the whole pizza? It was delicious. Fresh toppings, excellent crust and tasty sauce and now we have dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow. One of our friends ordered the sausage, onion, peppers, and parmigiana hero. The bread is homemade and the sandwich was stuffed with tasty ingredients. While eating our pizza we were each given a mini cannoli. The filling was great and the shell nice and crispy. The two men that helped us were so sweet, so kind and had such great personalities and so fun!! I can't rave enough about that. Food can be good anywhere you go but if the service sucks, it kills the whole experience. I just love everything about this place and I definitely recommend it. Our son lives in Tampa and he loves to go to Ybor City and knows almost every restaurant there, I wanted a good pizza and he took us to Due Amici, and let me tell you it is The best one. We order the one margarita, two meat ones and 2 sausage and pepperoni all of them were delicious thin and crispy, for dessert we had the chocolate mouse the best one i ever had. Not only the quality of the food is excellent , but the atmosphere and the owner (Gio) who goes table by table greeting everyone. First time here and most likely last time. I came across this place from Grubhub. I ordered for delivery and after doing that, it got canceled. I had ordered the chicken parm hero and once it was canceled, I wasn't even able to find it on the menu. Then I had to order the chicken Parmesan entree which should come with garlic knot bread and Cesar or house salad and it didn't come with that either. I didn't notice that until I looked at the menu. I don't think this is right. I have ordered previously through Postmates, Uber eats and door dash from other places and everything was included. So I get to the restaurant, the area is not the best! I got there and sign says wear your mask, the two people working there were not wearing it! I asked for utensils and the guys thought I asked for sauce so that Wasn't great.
