DO NOT USE AZ Duct Doctors LLC unless you want to risk surprise charges, aggressive upselling, and misleading business practices.
This company advertised and confirmed a $59 service fee, then attempted to pressure us into a completely unnecessary $1,300 dryer duct service for a duct that had already been professionally cleaned about a year and a half ago. Their own technician even told my son, "No one ever says no," which honestly tells you everything you need to know about how they operate.
My son called me and put me directly on the phone with the technician while he was at my house, and even after I clearly told the technician NO and instructed him to only leave an estimate for my home warranty company, he went behind my back and approached my wife, who is a senior citizen, while she was distracted dealing with multiple contractors working inside our home. He specifically told her she was signing paperwork for the original $59.00 service fee. She did not have her glasses on, trusted what she was being told, and believed she was only signing for the agreed $59.00 service fee.
Instead, he processed a charge for $500.99, failed to properly explain or verbally disclose those charges, and had no authorization to perform or charge for any additional work beyond the original $59.00 service fee.
The actual "work" took maybe 10 to 15 minutes, and barely anything even came out of the duct despite the dramatic sales pitch. We also have pictures and video showing the debris and mess they left behind in our yard afterward.
What makes this even worse is the complete lack of accountability afterward. I repeatedly called the company multiple times over several days and kept notes of each call while trying to speak with management. One employee promised the manager would call me back and "make it right." That never happened. Not one manager ever returned my calls.
In my opinion, this company operates using bait-and-switch tactics, high-pressure sales tactics, misleading paperwork practices, and takes advantage of distracted or vulnerable customers to push through inflated charges.
I have disputed the charges with my bank and filed complaints with the Arizona Attorney General, Arizona Corporation Commission, and Better Business Bureau.
There are too many honest companies in Arizona to risk dealing with this one. I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more
