We walked into a fun, nostalgic space with a large menu board packed with flavors, toppings, sundaes, frappes, and specialty desserts. The shop has a welcoming, family-friendly energy with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the bright, cheerful interior adds to the classic ice cream parlor feel. The steady flow of customers reflected its popularity as a local favorite, and the lively atmosphere made it a pleasant place to stop for a sweet treat. We stopped by for a milkshake, and it was thick, creamy, and made with real ice cream. The flavor was rich without being overly sweet, and the consistency was exactly what you look for in a good milkshake. The shake stayed thick throughout, never becoming watery, and the flavor held up well from the first sip to the last. The portions are generous, and there are plenty of flavor combinations to customize your order, with options ranging from classic chocolate and vanilla to more creative seasonal flavors. Even with a steady flow of customers, the staff kept things moving efficiently and were friendly throughout our visit, handling the line with speed and a welcoming demeanor. The large selection can take a minute to look through, but it is part of what makes this place stand out, giving you the chance to explore different combinations on each visit. Daddy's Dairy is a great spot for dessert, whether you are stopping in for a quick milkshake or planning to explore their huge variety of ice cream flavors. The quality of the ice cream, generous portions, and welcoming atmosphere make it easy to see why it is a local favorite, offering a classic dessert experience that feels both nostalgic and satisfying.

Ordered a cake through phone. The process was a bit back-and-forth because the website is a…read morecorporate one, while the pages for specific locations would list all the flavors for the year even though many are seasonal. The pandemic is another major reason for limited options. Rang the store in hopes to decide on a cake the same day, but the person on the phone couldn't provide list of currently available flavors (not sure why that is). Was told that only the manager knows and their store's IG has it posted. I went and looked, but saw no info posted in the last several months. Had to swing back to Facebook store page, and left them a message on Messenger to get a hold of the manager, who responded the same day, fortunately. Got the list of flavors; decided and called back the store the next day, and got a cake ordered. Despite the unnecessary social media ping-pong game I had to play in order to obtain simple info like that, the process went relatively smoothly. More "amazingly", the order came out correctly! Which successfully off-set the mountain I had to climb to get there. $38 base price for a small-size cake (feeds 4-6, but definitely 6+ as dessert) and $2 extra per topping (mixed into the cake, no fancy design), it was not a bad deal, compared to many $45+ regular cakes I have had to spend on. Can't complain about the two-day lead time, either (though I called a week early). Caveat: while searching on the site, I browsed on the "nutrition facts" page and saw that many products are not as "healthy" as they purport, with regards to sugar/fat content and flavoring ingredients. But as a once-in-a-while treat, it's certainly not the worst. Driving tip: If you are going southbound leaving the store, drive INTO the mall side and loop out of it to the traffic light on Morse Street. That would save you a few miles (and possibly traffic) swinging out onto Rt 1 to do the U (exit on right) on Dean.

Stick to fruit flavors, its been the best bet. Also, rita's is diabetic friendly! They have sugar free Italian ice flavors that rotate often. I wish they'd have 2 sugar free flavors available at a time but it's usually just one. For regular flavors, go for watermelon and mango...its definitely the real stuff because sometimes you get fresh bits of fruit in your ice! The custard reminds me of frozen cool whip. The greasy, sticky menus should have been the first warning sign that cleanliness isn't a priority here. I ordered the Patty Melt and found multiple gray hairs in my food. That is completely unacceptable and absolutely ruined the meal. There is no excuse for something like that making it out of the kitchen. It immediately made me question what else is happening behind the scenes. The restaurant itself feels like it's been neglected for years. The dining room looks worn out, the atmosphere is depressing, and even the servers looked like they didn't want to be there. Nobody smiled, nobody seemed engaged, and the whole place had an overwhelming feeling that everyone had simply given up. It's honestly sad to see what has happened to Friendly's. It used to be a place families looked forward to visiting. Now it feels like a shell of what it once was. The food quality, cleanliness, and overall experience have fallen so far that I cannot recommend anyone spend their money here.
