Came to this location for the first time around 9 AM. I've had their donuts as catering so I was excited to try some of their more fun seasonal flavors. Place wasn't crowded. I got a key lime and a mango raspberry. It took about 3 min for them to get the donuts. I didn't realize they come warm! The shop wasn't crowded and it's very cute and bright but I opted to take the box to go. The donuts were delicious. Flavorful, and I loved the warmed and nice texture of the donut. We checked out the new Duck Donuts in Orange, CT! I didn't know the best way to order so we used the in-store kiosk. We each ordered one donut. Husband ordered a vanilla iced coffee. The store is brightly lit, has lots of stuff to look at and see while you wait and plays a good variety of music. The collection of ducks is witty strewn about the counters. Coffee hit the spot. Similar to a chain cookie place down the road, they ask how your order looks before boxing up for take out orders. Husband had his blueberry pancake donut while it was warm. He said he would be back and enjoyed the maple flavoring and warm crunch of the outside of the donut. I waited a few hours to have mine. I ordered the vanilla confetti. I liked the frosting firmed up and the donut had a cakey, fresh bite. 5 stars! read more

The donuts are delicious if you like doughy donuts. Straight out the warmer and the toppings are delicious as well. Sadly there was no cookie butter glaze when I visited which is what I was looking forward to the most! Super cute shop with good service. read more

First timer here, I wasn't sure where to order. It was a little busy, I went on a Saturday late afternoon. There was a kiosk, so assumed that was where. After I placed my order I saw someone ordering at the counter so that was a little confusing. They had a bunch of people waiting and watching their donuts being custom made, which is kinda cool. I ordered the Fan Favorites half dozen, $15 for 6 donuts, a little pricey. The donuts were on the small side compared to your Krispy Kremes or DDs. However, they were tasty. Not sure I'd come back here again. But it seems to be a popular place. read more

I went on a Monday, only a few people inside. I ordered 2 donuts, waited nearly 30 minutes. Finally I asked if they were almost ready because I was needing to leave. My issue is that none of the staff spoke up during those 30 minutes til I mentioned something. Finally they told me that they ran out of donuts so I needed to wait for them to be made. Not sure how common that is, but I needed to wait for the batter to be made, filled into the machine etc. If there's going to be a delay let me know before I order, or give me a heads up as you see me waiting a half hour. Definitely poorly run. I blame management, not the kids working there. If it took any more time I was going to tell them to toss them. read more

Vast selection of donuts. Would be surprising if you could not find a few flavors you like. Service was friendly and the donuts were made pretty quickly. They are not as small as I thought from the other reviews...about the size of an entenmann's donut. They were fresh and very tasty...not as good as a place like Neil's but better than Dunkin or Heavenly. Probably more of a take out place as there were only 2 tables (a 2 seater and a 4 seater). I found the donuts to be undercooked and the frosting to be watery. The donuts were also clearly made with oil that wasn't hot enough because the batter tasted purely like oil. This is one of the only boxes of donuts that my family did not finish. read more

My significant other stopped recently to pick up some Duck Donuts now that they are open. These things were beautiful! We got an assortment but I specifically requested a s'mores donut. While I agree with the other comments about the service being slow, this is a brand new business and I believe they will work out the kinks! The staff were friendly and all seemed to be working hard. I loved that the donuts are made to order they were so fresh and warm. Watching them make your donuts was fun. My co workers and I all loved ours they are simple and fluffy really great homemade donuts. The basic powder sugar and s'mores ones were my top two!!! Regretfully tried them out. Ordered 6 donuts and one each of the breakfast sandwiches. They look nice, however they lack flavor. The maple bacon had a lot of bacon I could see as well as maple frosting. Yet if I had my eyes closed I'd barely taste the maple and would not be able to tell what the bacon bits were.(had no taste) the donuts also lacked any flavor or spice. They take a good photo, but are bland and disappointing as a donut. The insult to this are the cost of these "donuts ". It's so hard to find a good donut now. read more

I just ordered one doughnut to go with my coffee on my way to work and had planned to come back tomorrow and buy two dozen for my team. However, this was supposed to be a "freshly" made doughnut. But it taste absolutely disgusting. I feel it was fried in old oil and in a dirty pan. I called the store and reached the gentleman that had just served me and he said they just "changed the oil less than a week ago." Well there you have it, they're not using clean oil and not cleaning their pans daily. I told him that's unacceptable to use grease that sat for several days and that's why it has that old and disgusting taste. Also, while serving food, he was eating and drinking. The staff is very nice, atmosphere is cute & clean. This was my first visit - you basically customize your donuts or order from the menu and they are made-to-order. Decided to go check out the grand opening on Duck Donuts and it was incredibly busy, which is so excited for them! I waited almost an hour for my four donuts but the staff was extremely efficient, kind, and quick! And my donuts came out so warm. Once you place your order, you go to the "viewing" dock and watch the donuts being made and decorated! Here is why I gave it 3 stars - I really wanted to try a breakfast sandwich but they were not taking orders for that, so that was a bummer. Additionally, the donuts are smaller but HEAVY which I thought was unique, and the donuts itself were nice in flavor. However, despite all the icing, toppings, etc, I thought they lacked flavor overall. Biting into the biscoff butter cream donut, it just tasted like sugar which was a let down. The s'mores one had the most flavor but I'm surprised since how much is going on with the donuts, I was expecting more. It's possible that since it was so busy, some of the icings/toppings didn't have the exact equal parts of ingredients like they normally would, but i'm not sure. Though it took a long time, it's just because of the grand opening. Everyone wants to try it, considering it's uncommon around the area. The dozen of donuts were delicious. I loved the bacon one and chocolate explosion ones, as the rest I tasted were also phenomenal. It was cool watching them being made, as I was assured they were fresh. I was really excited to try Duck Donut, but unfortunately, the timing of the service left a lot to be desired. The donuts were really good-fresh and tasty-but...the time it took to get them was ridiculous. if you are on a tight schedule or just don't like standing around forever, this might not be the place for you-at least not yet. Hopefully, they will get the kinks worked out, because no donut is good enough to wait this long. An order of 2 donuts took 18 minutes and an order of 6 donuts took 22 minutes. To make things worse, they give you the drink right after you order...and then you wait a long time in between for donut, now you are unable to enjoy drink & donuts at the same time. This place has potential, but unless they seriously improve the wait time and the order flow, customers will think twice before going. My recommendation would be to consider having donuts pre-ready for single purchases or add a line for quick orders high peak times. Other than the fixable flaws, donuts are delicious! read more
