We came here for the $5 Monday-Thursday deal. There was plenty of parking and we went on a Thursday around 6, so there weren't any customers at that time. The store was clean, and the works were nice. I got a refresher and two bacon in the sun. After they made the donut, they asked if the donuts looked good. They sure did! If i could rate this -100 i would, I went in to get some donuts and coffee and if not a coffee i'd settle for a shake, anywho i went in and I asked for a coffee and the woman at the counter was wearing huge headphones which is a big no in a food environment like that, and then she was extremely rude and ignorant, I would've been satisfied with a simple i'm sorry we are out of expresso and would've been willing to hear a suggestion. That was the initial reaction so i ordered a Thin mint milkshake and as i'm waiting she's speaking to her colleague and she's cursing a storm which is highly unprofessional and in the process of paying my girlfriend decided to pay for something because i had left my wallet in the car and the employee snatched the card out of her hand and when we said thank you we got a very nasty look. The customer service here was absolutely terrible. I was honestly shocked by the way the staff behaved. The store not having ingredients to make certain things is understandable since things may be limited, but the attitude made the experience worse. As new customers, it was already a bit overwhelming trying to figure out the process, and the lack of patience didn't help. I will happily go next door for coffee and a sweet snack instead. The last time I saw one of these was in Marlton NJ... I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this here. Though it's pretty much right next to a Planet Fitness... so it's probably a war on temptation; But being the spontaneous person that I am I thought I'd drop in for a look... they had so many flavors I couldn't help but grab a couple and more to try later! Basically it's like a fresher Dunkin... and didn't even get to the drinks yet. They dipped my freshly baked donut in maple cream icing, then topped it with a generous portion of real bacon crumbles. Warm, because they make them as soon as now. Soft and cakey inside, slightly chewy, and firm outside, with a well-baked shell. Maple cream perfectly sweet, bacon crispy and smokey. Overall a light donut with well-balanced flavors and textures. Let's just say I'm glad we still live a decent 10 minutes away or else I may live here. We came in to get donuts because everything is shut down and needed to lift our spirits from boredom. We ordered an assortment from maple bacon, fried oreo, funnel cake, peanut butter chocolate, cinnamon sugar and chocolate explosion. I thought that these might not be as great, because they would be OVERLY sweet....but somehow they were perfect. My absolute favorite was the maple bacon....but the fried oreo was a serious close second. I love that the donuts are freshly made (I had my doubts since this place is a chain), and they are given to you warm and fresh. It was a nice treat to be able to see all the detail that is put into making each donut look perfect through their assembly line. They are being very careful during covid and making sure to sanitize, wear gloves, masks and asking people to socially distance. I have never been during the week, but if you go at 5 or 6 pm weekends there has been like one person there and we do not have to wait. They helped me select a dozen tasty holiday donuts and even talked me into a breakfast sandwich. If you plan on visiting, I would recommend giving yourself extra time or order ahead because their donuts are Made To Order! I watched the staff mix batter, fill their two machines with vanilla and chocolate batter, watched the conveyor take my new born donuts for a ride and then finally watched my dozen receive their dipping and fresh toppings. All fine and well if your not in a rush! The finished product looked fantastic and my coworkers loved them. The chocolate and mint varieties were my favorite of the dozen. They were all tasty and addicting. The few pieces that were left over were fresher the next morning than some big chains donuts when you first get them! The breakfast sandwich was a sausage, egg and cheese on their plain cake donut bun, cooked in a speed oven. It was a quickly made sandwich (no eggs cracked), but the sugar in the donut bun made it hard to resist! You can do all 3 steps or none at all. The options are so infinite allowing you to come up with the wildest combinations. When you walk into the store, it is a welcoming environment with super friendly staff. There are pictures of different donut combinations everywhere. You can order one of the creations that they suggest or you can get creative and make your own. For example one of the donuts I selected consisted of vanilla frosting as my coating and cookie crumbles as my topping and no drizzle. For another one, I did the blue icing and sprinkles no drizzle. Another donut had the vanilla coating, coconut topping and key lime drizzle. You can order just one donut or half a dozen or more. For a half dozen donuts I spent about $16. This place is simply wonderful and totally blew my expectations. The store itself is very well kept. The tables and chairs are clean, and the kitchen area where they make the donuts is organized. Not like your average joe donut shop at all. This was my first experience at Duck Donut so I didn't know how to order. The lady behind the counter was very helpful and broke down what my options were. She explained the donuts are made fresh to order(unless you order a pre made dozen). Once I placed my order, then I got to see the lady make my order. Just like you see in Krispy Kreme except a lot more clean. After she made the donuts, she then asked me if I thought they looked okay. It's a small comment but in my eyes that showed me how passionate she was. I only got 3 because I had no idea how they would be. Instant regrets. The donuts literally melted in my mouth. I got the blueberry pie, cookies & cream and sand dollar donut. All 3 of those donuts are 5/5 in my books. My favorite has to be blueberry. I'm excited to come back here in the future and try some more. Many choices for dipped toppings in pretty colors, but all taste more or less the same. Really a confectionery more than a bakery. To be avoided if sugar is a health issue for you. Best suited for kids whining for a candy fix, and other folks cheating on their diets. Their Covid protocol should be improved a bit, because they allow you to come in to order and then wait outside for a staff person to bring your order out to you in 10 or more minutes. In hot or cold weather it gets a bit uncomfortable. Perhaps, a few folding chairs set up in the shade would alleviate the problem; outdoor umbrellas, if necessary. This experience wasn't quite like our first due to them having "batter issues" which caused a delay of 20+ minutes for a 6 pack. These donuts are very tasty and one of the best I've had. Unfortunately this location has horrible leadership. We had a job function and ordered numerous of dozens boxes of donuts and our order was cancelled without letting us know. There was no reason for given and our function was ruined. Custom doughnuts take time, I get it, and maybe that's why this establishment puts it all on display for you. Otherwise, you'd be waiting and waiting and waiting. But watching confection assembly is only interesting for so long, you know? Anyway, I'm sympathetic to the dilemma of keeping people occupied while they wait, but the pageantry seems a bit overblown. However, the staff is so helpful, so cordial, and they obviously really believe in their products, which definitely helps to build trust and enthusiasm. My son ordered some kid-appealing option with frosting and glaze and coconut and sprinkles, if memory serves, and while he rolled his eyes and complained about the wait and the crowd, but once the food was in his grubby little hands, he totally housed his doughnut in record time. It is some seriously good stuff. I had planned to get a few doughnuts to go but because of my son's general disinterest while we waited (he just turned 13, so it's understandable, I suppose), and because I overheard the guy in front of me order a breakfast sandwich on a doughnut, I shifted gears. I ordered my son his doughnut, and I opted instead for a bacon, egg, and cheese on a doughnut for my own order. The doughnuts here are a blank canvas -- a high-quality, luxurious canvas to be sure -- and they aren't too sweet on their own. To back up for one second: someone had brought in some breakfast sandwiches -- I forget where they were from -- to the office not long before our visit to Duck's, and every bit of those sandwiches were disappointing: fake eggs, plastic bacon, tasteless cheese, etc. So, I did not have super high hopes at Duck's, but the final product blew my expectations away. Every single bit of the sandwich was delicious, and the bacon was especially pleasing: perfectly tender crisp - high quality to be sure. What took the sandwich over the top was the maple drizzle and (real) bacon crumbles on top. A heavenly blend of savory and sweet in every bite. While I appreciate the quality of Duck's, given that we're about 20 minutes away, it's a little hard to justify another trip over there any time soon, especially considering the wait time once you arrive.
