The best part of the sub was the roll, and it was just a standard sub roll. Luckily, the French fries were pretty good so I was able to eat part of my meal. Take it from someone who has worked in the food industry himself, you cannot just slap some meat, cheese, and onions on a roll and call it a cheese stake sub. The combination of ingredients only works if all them play their individual parts. The meat needs to have some char on it to bring out its flavor. The onions have to be caramelized so as to pop with sweetness whenever one is bitten into. The cheese needs accent the meat and onion, not mask it. There are supposed to be multiple layers in a submarine sandwich, not just one bland flavor. I would not recommend this place at all. You are better off going to Subway, at least it will not cost you almost twenty dollars for a flavorless sub.

Coffee Shop No. 410 Outer Bean…read moreKitty Hawk, NC September 5, 2024 If there is one thing I have learned over the last two in and a half years it's that a genuine smile and a warm greeting goes a really long way. It can transform an ordinary drink into something special. It makes the magic of coffee last throughout the entire day. I was immediately welcomed when I walked into the Outer Bean. Initially, I was bummed because cortados were not on the menu. I asked the barista if she would try to make one. She said sure. I gave her general directions and she walked to the espresso machine. A couple of minutes later she handed me a cup with two shots of espresso and a stainless steel pitcher with steamed milk. The barista said, "Why don't you add the milk in so you get it just the way you want." I thought this was a thoughtful gesture. I thanked her and made my cortado. We chatted a bit. It turned out she is Thai and my husband is Thai; and I love to talk about Thailand. I took a few pictures. We exchanged goodbyes and I exited the cafe with a genuine smile and a very positive impression of the Outer Bean. Smiles are free and they can elevate and/or improve any situation. Plus, folks always look better when they smile. I hope you make this world a better place by sharing your smile with someone today. Thank you to the barista at Outer Bean who shared her smile and made my day brighter. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

When we arrived on a Saturday morning in mid September, they estimated an hour wait. It ended up being 30 min since we said we'd take whatever is first available. They have seating in the back with shade while you wait for the buzzer. They ended up seating us in front of the restaurant outdoors on high tops. We didn't mind, but we definitely shuffled chairs to find a comfy high top since they vary. It was a windy morning, so it was hard to keep things from flying away! We ordered the South of the border omelette and western omelette, both with home fries. They both were so flavorful! The home fries had onions, bell peppers, and some seasoning. It was great! We also ordered half an order of French toast, but felt indifferent. The service was great and quick! We will return in future trips.
