My little brother and I came in to try this place out! We decided we were going to try a bunch of different donuts for fun! We got the boardwalk, s'more's, chocolate explosion, strawberry shortcake, the seasonal cookie butter chip, and beach ball. Looking online for a doughnut place that wasn't a chain and came across Duck Donut. After reading the reviews I had to try. I decided to order online and it's pretty user friendly but it took me a minute to get it right. You get to create your own doughnut with is pretty cool. I ordered a dozen then went to pick it up. Came out to about $28 with tax and online fee. Arrived around 10am on a Saturday and it was packed. I didn't take pictures inside because of that. Music was playing adhd the staff was nice. I was in and out. It's in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking. The doughnuts are cake like and it was warm when I got home. My youngest son and I thought the doughnuts were really good but sweet. Myb oldest enjoyed them as well and didn't feel as if they were sweet. I had a really disappointing experience at Duck Donuts. The manager took our order and payment, then suddenly told us we couldn't go back into the bathroom because she claimed we "smelled like weed." Nobody was smoking or doing anything in the bathroom -- I literally just went in to wash my hands and came right back out. Regardless, smelling like marijuana is not a reason to treat customers disrespectfully or assume wrongdoing. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the manager became rude, argumentative, and ended up canceling our order after already taking our money. The whole interaction felt judgmental and unnecessary. Customers deserve to be treated with respect, not singled out over assumptions or personal bias. Very unprofessional experience. read more

First experience, loved it! When they say cake donuts they don't mean those dense cakey dry donuts, these are like actual CAKE donuts. I wouldn't call them cake donuts I would classify them as donut cakes. Big difference if you think about it. They are nice and fluffy and light like you would find in a birthday cake. When we started looking at the menu like a bunch of first timers the nice woman behind the counter asked if it was our first time and if we wanted her to explain how things worked. The location is in a corner of a very busy shopping plaza. Once you get to the corner of the lot where the store is, it's plenty of parking. My friend and I were on some major big back activities on this Saturday afternoon. It's the only location in St. Louis and a chain store across America. There were soooooooooooooo many hard choices to pick near Valentine's Day even though I looked at the menu online in advance. The ladies there were extremely helpful in providing suggestions and attentive from start to finish. I did not know this but the breakfast sandwiches do have English Muffin for the bread if you don't want donuts for the bread. So we got a breakfast sandwich, 1/2 dozen donuts and some coffee. I ordered a Peppermint Latte which wasn't too bad. To add more big to the big back activities, we both ordered lemonade for later. I ordered the strawberry lemonade which was the perfect balance of tart and sweet. When the young lady brought me my donuts, they were still warm. I took a small chunk of to sample of each donut before we headed to Trader Joe's to walk off the diabetes! I wasn't expecting much even though I had heard many people rave about this place. I wanted to order a safe flavor and I was blown away! I feel like it tasted more of a churro than cinnamon bun. I think because when I took a bit, all the frosting fell off. It was a hard icing instead of a glaze so not like a classic cinnamon bun. You walk in, are immediately greeted by the sweet smell of dough in the air and a smiling employee (even when you walk in shortly after opening!), your order is taken just as quickly as you can make it and they get right to work on the little masterpieces. There are an incredible amount of flavor combinations to choose from and they're all delicious. Everything is even made to order, but you don't have to wait long at all! I love Duck Donuts! I had a doctors appointment nearby earlier, so I figured I would stop by this place before heading to work. I am not a big sweets person, so I usually get donuts with bacon. The donuts tasted old and when I complained I was told the oil had not been changed in six months. When I visited there were ice cream donut sandwiches with chocolate donuts but I was informed that I could not have a chocolate donut which if you make chocolate they should be served. I decided to give the donut ice cream sandwich a try and it was old and crusty and gross. Also the black coffee was ice cold and bitter. I asked for a chocolate peanut donut and watched as the peanuts were scraped into a container of chocolate chips. As you know cross contamination like this could put someone's life in jeopardy.The store was not clean at all. Employee who waited on me was not nice and seemed unhappy to wait on me.
