I've had two other major surgeries before and the Dr's office always called a few days later to check on me. Not so much with this orthopedic company. Got their money and that's it. Now the surgeon himself did a good job on the surgery I assume but his assistants have really dropped the ball. I'll be having ankle surgery in near future but would rather have someone that at least tries to show they care. Orthopedics Specialist of Dallas not so much, they don't even try to act like they give a damn.

Second replacement was 10/1 took about 45 days to recover, as I was told and had read many articles about no two surgeries are alike... I agree. Looking back almost a year now I am completely recovered and back to my normal schedule. Dr Acree, his PA Elizabeth and all the staff I had contact with were amazing, caring, concerned, prompt and just very friendly people to work with. I arrived on time, completed my paperwork, and was initially assisted by kind and professional staff. However, while being escorted for x-rays, a male x-ray technician (name unknown) entered the room and began yelling at me aggressively because I was briefly on my phone while ending a work-related call. His tone was loud, hostile, and intimidating. I asked him calmly not to speak to me that way, but he continued yelling and then stormed out of the room. I felt frightened, shaken, and unsafe. No patient should ever be spoken to in that manner--especially in a medical setting. The behavior was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. The technician who completed the x-rays was apologetic, and the doctor later apologized as well, which I appreciate. However, that does not excuse the initial interaction. Policies can be enforced without yelling or intimidating patients. This experience left me visibly upset and crying, and it took time for me to regain my composure. I am sharing this because no one should feel threatened or afraid during a medical visit. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses staff conduct so other patients do not have a similar experience.

The nurse…read moretook an x-ray, and was working with me on some other paperwork when he walked and proceeded to ask in a very loud voice why had I waited so long because now he can't operate. I told him I wasn't sure what I had done to my wrist because I had never broken anything before. He said he couldn't do anything at that point and started to walk out. I called him back to the room and asked which bone I broke. He walked over to me and ran his finger down my thumb to my wrist, told the nurse to get me a brace and walked out. Later that day, I had a friend refer another doctor, I got in to see the new doctor, he also took an x-ray and showed it to me. The break was my wrist bone, right where the wrist and hand meet, not the thumb. He said no surgery needed, just a cast. A few weeks later when Duhons' office called for a followup, I told the lady what had happened, how I felt about Duhon and his diagnosis..she could not get off the phone fast enough. Wish I could give him a no star rating.

I would not advise anyone to go to this office. Do not pay your surgery deductible to them, pay to…read morethe hospital. They will keep your money and not pay your deductible to where it needs to go. You will be in a fight trying to get things correct so you are not having to pay twice. They will also make every excuse for why your deductible was not entered as it should have been. Stay in touch with your insurance company and the medical board and if you need I can send quiet a few other names that are willing to help with the very wrongful way this office conducts business. Not really fair or right so PLEASE be advised.

I went back to him post op and told him multiple times that I had even more pain. All he said was that "his work was perfect". He never sought answers for me. Zero percent impressed with this office!!!! My Dad has been in severe back pain for several months…read morenow. After he was finally able to get in, they sent him to another place to get imaging (which is fine). They had an appointment one week later to go over imaging and discuss what can be done to help. The imaging facility wasn't able to get the image that was needed, but did get a different type. They show up for the follow up appointment, and they don't have them scheduled BUT my mom has the text confirming the appointment. They apologize and say they will see him. After getting to the room the nurse tells them they didn't receive any imaging from the place they sent them too, and that there is nothing they can do....NO empathy and not a care in the world that this could be frustrating to someone is LOTS of pain. She goes to chat with the Dr., because why would he care to take the time to come in himself and talk to a patient??? This office AND the place they sent them to for imaging completely dropped the ball. I understand that without imaging the Dr. can't see things, BUT all it takes is having a good bed side manner, taking 5-10 minutes of your time to actually talk to your patient yourself (NOT your rude nurse), and show a little understanding, and this situation would have been so much better....frustrating still, but better. Save your time and go somewhere else!

I went here and saw Dr Bidwell for a knee aspiration and a cortisone injection. He only withdrew 13…read morecc's of fluid on a knee that looked like a football. Didn't have any of the supplies he was asking for. When he was finished, he just got up and left and the nurse told me "You're all done" and walked out of the room too. I had to ask for a rag to wipe the goop off they used for the sonogram. Then I walked up to the front to schedule a follow up. It was set up for 10-14-15. Needless to say with the amount of pain I was feeling from this procedure, I called the next day and told them and the nurse told me to take my pain pills and if it didn't feel better before the follow up, call and come in earlier. I found another GREAT doctor that drained over 30 cc's and actually gave me after care instructions. I called to cancel my follow up appointment and she actually told me I didn't have one. I still have the card. This place needs to get it together. I have had this done several times, and have never experienced this kind of pain to where I couldn't even bend my knee. My new dr sat and answered all my questions and actually does the pt for you. So glad I listened to my friend and went and saw new dr. Knee actually feels great and he gave me a brace and a polar care to keep it iced. Would never refer this dr for anything. He didnt take the time to answer any questions or even wipe the goop off of my knee. I give a BIG FAT ZERO to this practice.

My son broke his wrist and had to have a cast put on and from his nurse Justin being so sweet to my…read moreson joking with him about how cool it was to have a cast to Dr Carstens coming in and playing around with my son talking to him and not at him like some doctors tend to do. Then we had to come back and have his cast changed and my son was so scared to have it cut off and Justin showed him that the loud cutting machine was just going to tickle him and made it all fun for him. GREAT GREAT staff ALL the way around!!
