Unimpressed! I saw Dr Ju who performed my second surgery. I was in the hospital for 7 days and never saw his face post surgery. I went back to him post op and told him multiple times that I had even more pain. All he said was that "his work was perfect". He never sought answers for me. Zero percent impressed with this office!!!! My Dad has been in severe back pain for several months now. After he was finally able to get in, they sent him to another place to get imaging (which is fine). They had an appointment one week later to go over imaging and discuss what can be done to help. The imaging facility wasn't able to get the image that was needed, but did get a different type. They show up for the follow up appointment, and they don't have them scheduled BUT my mom has the text confirming the appointment. They apologize and say they will see him. After getting to the room the nurse tells them they didn't receive any imaging from the place they sent them too, and that there is nothing they can do....NO empathy and not a care in the world that this could be frustrating to someone is LOTS of pain. She goes to chat with the Dr., because why would he care to take the time to come in himself and talk to a patient??? This office AND the place they sent them to for imaging completely dropped the ball. I understand that without imaging the Dr. can't see things, BUT all it takes is having a good bed side manner, taking 5-10 minutes of your time to actually talk to your patient yourself (NOT your rude nurse), and show a little understanding, and this situation would have been so much better....frustrating still, but better. Took off work to make an appointment as a new patient as we have moved all the way across the metroplex and I needed a new doctor. Filled out all of the detailed paperwork gave the medical assistant, my MRI and my surgery information that was done on my back seven years ago And she came back in the room after leaving for about two minutes and said that Dr. Lankford can't see me. And referred me to another doctor. I then asked her did he even look at my MRI or my report? And all I got was mmmhmmmm. Then walk me to the front desk to check out and said I can go. I never saw the doctor. I thought this is HIGHLY unprofessional, especially being in the medical world myself. I'm still in shock as I am writing this review. Save yourself the trouble, and if you are seeking long-term management, this doctor doesn't even have, the ethical and moral decently to even come in and say hello to you. Like read more

Made an appointment to see Dr Belanger. Had x-ray done in office. Upon exam, I explained all issues and pain mainly coming from my neck to the middle of my back. My my right arm is numb down to my fingers and I have extreme pressure it feels like in my arm shoulder and bicep. I also get electric shock and fire feeling down the arm. Pain is off the charts! I also explained I'm not able to lay down as the pain is too great and haven't slept in days. I was prescribed nerve pain medication like a Lyrica and Tylenol #4. Went for my MRI but after 3 tries of trying to lay down I was physically unable due to the pain from the nerves. Pain like I never felt before and has my arm numb and in so much pain. I call back the doctors office but they are closed. I opt for the emergency contact line as I'm in horrible pain and i was in need of a prescription change and a standing Mri or if not available what's my next step. I believe Vickie was the operator over the weekend, Says she will get my message to the doctor and nothing can be done over the phone. I called the doctors office Monday hes was not there and said they will deliver my message and I'll get a call back Monday. Monday came and went no call back! Tuesday I call trying to set up the MRI and get a hold of the doctor to adjust prescriptions. Again more rude and condescending remarks with no care or attention to the patient. I'm told we got your message and I will receive a call back after 4:30om Never got a call back!!!. Today I called to see what the status of the MRI was and about the prescription change. I'm told the MRI was sent in with sedation and that I need to call them to confirm that everything was set up and I'm told that no prescription can be changed until the MRI is done. I explained again the extreme pain I'm in and she repeated herself with no care or understanding. So I called the MRI place Hunt Regional Imaging. They have record of the new MRI being requested but they don't do MRI with sedation. This is something the doctors office should've already known instead of wasting my time and have me drive around in pain. overall experience receptionist do not care about you, PA the same. You're just a number your calls will not be returned. Your pain level does not matter and you I have to do all the work. I would never dream of going back or sending anyone to this place. read more

Made an appointment for a 20+ yr old back issue to finally get it dealt with. Saw the doctor and he wanted an MRI, very standard and expected from my past experience. My insurance wanted PT prior to authorizing a MRI, bit of a hassle as I've been through this before but I made appointments at Baylor in Royse City and started going. TBI told me to go to a couple of visits then they would resubmit for approval to get the MRI. I went to 9 appointments in total. They never submitted for the MRI approval. I called and used their text service to communicate. I was told several times they would resubmit it but that never happened. Eventually they just stopped responding to any text messages. I'd call and nobody would call back. I finally started asking for the office manager. I left him voicemails. Nothing ever got done. About 2 months later I decided to call for him again. Talked to him, explained what had happened and was as nice as I could be. It was nearly 5pm when we spoke. I told him I didn't expect anything that day but please call me back the following day as he needed to speak to others in the office. No call back. These doctors need to seriously pay attention to their staff as I cannot believe anyone running a business would find this acceptable. It is by far the worst experience at a medical office I've ever had. The worst part is I have no idea what the problem is there. I wasn't ever rude or harassing when I spoke to anyone. I don't get it. And my back still hurts badly everyday...kinda why I went to start with. read more

Dr. Lankford and his staff are awesome! If you're experiencing severe neck or back pain I would recommend getting an appointment with Dr. Lankford ASAP. My dad had a pinched sciatic nerve and we're thankful that today he's in no pain. We did an exam, consultation, 2 spinal injections, and were prescribed physical therapy, pain meds, and muscle relaxants. This enabled my dad to start doing physical therapy and aquatic therapy a block from the Rockwall Texas Back office that ultimately relieved the pain long term. read more

back in February I went for neck and back pain. they sent me for an X-ray and charged me my $40 copay for the visit. after the X-ray I had to make another appointment and at that appointment he told me I need an mri and charged me another $40. got the mri and went back and they told me I need a cat scan. charged me $40. the next appointment they told me they are referring me elsewhere for surgery and charged me $40. By this time it is June. At each of these appointments I asked about my back as it was worsening. I have called and left messages three times. I finally got a call back two weeks ago and was told the doctor was on vacation and that they would call me a week from Tuesday. that was two days ago and I just left another message because the receptionist couldn't help me. Here we are four months after my initial appointment and I am in pain every single day. They told me I had a severe bone spur in my neck but were unconcerned by the amount of pain I am in. same with my back. I get these random attacks in my lower back that sometimes topple me to the ground they are so severe. No one at the office seems to care or have any sense of urgency. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Texas Back Institute and Dr. Kevin Ju. Dr. Ju took the time to look at my MRI and records and explain exactly what he saw and where the problem was after a failed back surgery in Tyler. He has taken the time to call me at home and review new records since I live 2 hours from the office. Getting ready for surgery, they have made sure that I have clearance from my pulmonologist and cardiologist and taken every precaution to make sure that I have a safe and successful surgery! Dr. Ju's surgery coordinator, Stephanie, has been in contact with me on a regular basis to ensure that appointments are arranged and that the testing that I need done is scheduled. It has not been a fast process but rather a process that I feel certain will produce the safest and most successful surgery possible. read more

The doctor and medical assistant were excellent, professional, and friendly. However, my review specifically concerns the front office staff at the Rockwall location. Never in my life have I seen office staff speak so loudly and openly (and poorly) about their patients. One patient called wanting to schedule an appointment. He's in collections for $580 for his surgery. They put him on hold and all bad-mouthed him for awhile. His new insurance isn't in network but he says it is; he says insurance will pay one time for him to see the doctor who did the surgery, but the office staff doesn't care. They're not going to let him have an appointment until every penny of that money is paid (that's a quote). Another patient wanted a visit summary. She refused to pay a fee for the paper. As soon as she left, they all talked about how she should have KNOWN there was a charge and how cheap she was. Yet another lady they talked about has an appointment this Thursday for a follow up. She owes money. Her boyfriend works for an MRI place nearby. From the gossip I heard, she tried to say that she'd set up a payment plan on Friday, but there's NO WAY they're going to let her have the appointment on Thursday and not set up a payment plan until Friday. And apparently she's rude. If this isn't a violation of HIPPA, it's at least bad business. These office assistants weren't whispering or anything. They were just openly and loudly badmouthing patients right in front of another patient. I've never seen anything like it before. I really was impressed with the doctor, but I wouldn't go back here. Different doctors I finally as of today show up out here at Texas Back Institute in Rockwall thanking you know I might get something done I might get some help after being told by to previous surgeons that I need a 1/2 to level 360 back fusion with Hardware that my spine is unstable I get told by the doctors over there Texas Back Institute that they're going to order some memorize try to figure out if maybe injections could be in my future that there's no medicine for me that they could really give me right now nothing they can do this place really sucks on a scale of 1 to 10 I give this place a negative 10 you going there look at the floors their dirty dust all over them look at where the coffee pot in the little mini refrigerator is look it all everything underneath of it and all that is just all you got to do is pull it out and sweep mop very conspiracist this place sucks I would not bring my horse to the doctor anyway if you're hurting you need something to help you with your pain don't come here all they're going to do is up do test do test so that was my thing here I was very polite I was very courteous I was very respectable I brought my MRIs reports I brought x-ray reports I brought medical records from other providers I'm walking away with nothing anyway this is just a heads up to the people that are in real pain do not come to Texas Back Institute I hope everybody out there that has back and neck pain can find a good doctor and gets treated good and gets better God bless everybody read more

TBI has been very professional and supportive through first a neck surgery and recently a lower back fusion. I have felt comfortable with their thorough diagnosis and also with the post-op care. I have had interactions with many of their staff and have been treated with care and concern. I recommend them highly. read more

So here is how I was treated at this farce of a clinic. Went in ldt friday with severe sciatic pain which came on acutely after I twisted wrong and felt sharp pain in my lower left back. I waited almost a week hoping it would diminish but it seemed to be getting worse. Excruciating pain down the front of my leg especiially over my calf. When I realized it wasnt getting better andmy leg seemed very weak I finally went to ER at Presby. Received a shot and cortisone pak and script for tramadol. Took all th meds and a week later absolutely no improvement. The ER recommended Tx Back Institute. I went in last friday and saw one of the PA's. They took 2 views of my back and he PA did a drive by exam. Checked reflexes in both legs and they were almost absent in the left. The PA said I had a collapsed disc space at L4L5 and needed MRI. She spent a total of 5minutes. I was sent up front and theycharged126 dollarscopay and said they had to get the MRI preauthorized. Never had this happen but whatever, just need to get it done. They said someone would call me. No call by tue and the pain is horrible and leg is weaker. Cant stand on it at all. I call them today ( tue) and they say there are no notes in my chart. ? I say well do you have the radiology report. They tell me that no doctor reads the film just the PA and she had nothing written at all. They keep calling the PA the doctor??!! Apparently no radiologist reviews the films. Also, no notes on getting the preauthorization. Plus the girls are snippy. I worked all day and called back at 4pm. The lady says yes there are still no notes in chart, and she doesnt know anything about this preauthorization. This place is unconscienable. Picking up my records in the morning and not sure what to do from here. My dog is treated better at the vet than this place treats people. read more
