I had three scheduled surgeries in 2021 two were major joint replacements and one was a shoulder…read morerepair. Dr Acree did all three. First replacement 6/1 with an incredibly quick recovery, I walked in on my own power about 18 days after surgery for follow up and staple removal. Second replacement was 10/1 took about 45 days to recover, as I was told and had read many articles about no two surgeries are alike... I agree. Looking back almost a year now I am completely recovered and back to my normal schedule. Dr Acree, his PA Elizabeth and all the staff I had contact with were amazing, caring, concerned, prompt and just very friendly people to work with. If you are in the Rockwall area and are having orthopedic issues, this is your guy.

I had a very upsetting and unprofessional experience at Orthopedics of Rockwall on Ridge Road…read moreduring my recent appointment. I arrived on time, completed my paperwork, and was initially assisted by kind and professional staff. However, while being escorted for x-rays, a male x-ray technician (name unknown) entered the room and began yelling at me aggressively because I was briefly on my phone while ending a work-related call. His tone was loud, hostile, and intimidating. I asked him calmly not to speak to me that way, but he continued yelling and then stormed out of the room. I felt frightened, shaken, and unsafe. No patient should ever be spoken to in that manner--especially in a medical setting. The behavior was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. The technician who completed the x-rays was apologetic, and the doctor later apologized as well, which I appreciate. However, that does not excuse the initial interaction. Policies can be enforced without yelling or intimidating patients. This experience left me visibly upset and crying, and it took time for me to regain my composure. I am sharing this because no one should feel threatened or afraid during a medical visit. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses staff conduct so other patients do not have a similar experience.

I came in with extreme pain and I was told there was nothing he could do, after a 2 minute visit. I…read morefelt brushed off and unheard. I have a chronic illness so I live in pain but when i actually go to the doctor it is because i can't handle the pain, which for me is a big statement. He didn't ask to run any tests at all. He was rude and standoffish. I actually cried because I was so frustrated that he didn't care enough to help me solve the problem. Shame on him

After falling and hurting my wrist, I finally went to see Duhon after about 4 weeks. The nurse…read moretook an x-ray, and was working with me on some other paperwork when he walked and proceeded to ask in a very loud voice why had I waited so long because now he can't operate. I told him I wasn't sure what I had done to my wrist because I had never broken anything before. He said he couldn't do anything at that point and started to walk out. I called him back to the room and asked which bone I broke. He walked over to me and ran his finger down my thumb to my wrist, told the nurse to get me a brace and walked out. Later that day, I had a friend refer another doctor, I got in to see the new doctor, he also took an x-ray and showed it to me. The break was my wrist bone, right where the wrist and hand meet, not the thumb. He said no surgery needed, just a cast. A few weeks later when Duhons' office called for a followup, I told the lady what had happened, how I felt about Duhon and his diagnosis..she could not get off the phone fast enough. Wish I could give him a no star rating.

They gave me a horrible first impression. I had the very 1st appointment of the day. I saw the…read moreDoctor in the hallway as I was going to my room. Him and a nurse(possibly) stood outside my door for 45 mins past my appt time talking about Entourage. Finally the woman said "oh the patient." He came in and I mentioned the problem and hoped he could fix it. He made the assumption I was a pill popper and that he wasn't going to support a pain killer habit. I was absolutely mortified! I told him I was there so I didn't have to take pain killers anymore. He took some x-rays and gave me a cortisone shot. He was kind of polite after that. I don't think that's a proper way to treat patients. I left so upset.

Saw Duchamp and his (nurse?) twice for thyroid replacement. The doctor really pushed the hormone…read morereplacement also even though the bloodwork for my readings came back fine for estrogen and testosterone. When I declined the hormone replacement... the doctor tried one more time to make a sell on the hormones as they are quite expensive & no doubt a large part of his practice. Before my third appointment for thyroid checkup, I was instructed by the receptionist to "call in" a partial prescription for enough thyroid pills to get me through my up-coming appointment day as well as up to 5 more pills until blood work could be completed by lab and results returned to doctor. I did that. On the day of my appointment, I rolled through the pharmacy in my home town to pick up the handful or less of pills. The pharmacist gave a courtesy call to Duchamp's office and the loner pills were denied by his joke of a nurse who had already been rude on the phone along the way on my preceeding other 2 appointments with Duchamp. I asked the pharmacy to call back and ask for even 1 or 2 loner pills so that I would not miss a pill for even just that day. The pharmacist told me that even that small request had been denied on the phone by Duchamp's nurse. The pharmacy told me that, as a patient of theirs, they should have called me personally and told me this when they saw the request come through to their office... or in the very least should have returned my 2 phone messages left at Duchamp's clinic referring to the loner pills. I rolled away from the pharmacy and decided to call and cancel my appointment the day of with Duchamp and book with an endocrinologist in Dallas, instead, which I will be seeing in Dallas tomorrow (1-5-16). When I called to cancel my appointment, & listed the reasons stated all throughout this complaint, "Helen" or "Elen" told me "It's just as well. We don't need people like you anyway". I called back the day of cancelling and asked for a call back from Duchamp which was denied. I called Dr Duchamp's clinic again a week or so later, after having cancelled my appointment with his clinic, and asked for a Dr's referral from him as one specialist I called said they needed a simple Dr's referral from the last doctor I had seen. I called Dr. Duchamp's clinic and "Helen/Ellen" the very rude nurse of Duchamp denied to give the referral, denied to let me speak to Dr. Duchamp and said that she would not give a referral to another doctor as I was no longer a patient of Dr. Duchamp. My overall experience would have to be described as a rude staff along with being pressured somewhat into a hormone replacement outlay that I clearly did not need but "wouldn't hurt". No thanks. Very unprofessional and "money-hungry" place.
