Duane Reade Inc. is a chain of pharmacy and convenience stores owned by Walgreens which is becoming less presence in recent years than in the 2000s in the metropolitan NYC region. I remember in the late 1990s through early 2000s era, Duane Reade was located within three blocks intervals iteration for a heavy prominent presence. I needed a specific box brand of facial tissues with lotion which this pharmacy actually have and was on sale with a promotion "buy 1 get 1 equal/less for 50% off." Retail items appears somewhat in stock, but I really wanted the large rectangular box rather than the small square box of facial tissues. Customer service is non-existent. The staff appears disgruntled working robotically of their Sisyphean task. read more

I visited this Duane Reed trying to get a an exchange and the manager is a bald Asian man a little chunky and he told me OK. You need a state ID to do this refund which I never heard of that CVS don't do that only if you if you're buying a medical product, but whatever him the state ID he still proceeded to give me a refund like a dumbass and I told him I wanted an exchange not a refund so our manager does not listen. Neither does the coworkers actually none of them listen, they all just do whatever they want read more

Pharmacist Marisol is absolutely the BEST! I had several prescription refills that were denied by my health insurance as a result of changes made in my insurance ID policy numbers. They never informed me of these changes and never sent me an updated insurance card. Marisol took the time on a busy Saturday to get hold of my health insurance provider to obtain authorization for the refills. She was very helpful and patient! Marisol--you are absolutely FABULOUS!! read more

I recently needed a photo for my son's school so I needed ASAP .. basically same day delivery like they say they do online. I placed the order over night for next morning pick up. I wait the entire morning til 2:30 pm with not respond. I call them just to be informed that they don't have my paper size. That's literally all they said "we don't have the paper so we can't process your order". No alternative, no so what do I go from here. NOTHING! Didn't even bother to let me know that they couldn't do it. I would give them a negative 10 if I can. Never ever will I give this place my business again! I literally had to guide them to the conclusion of canceling my order since then can't fulfill it. read more

Called 12/23/21 to ask if pharmacy is open Christmas eve.The woman said yes 9 to 5. I traveled far to find pharmacy is closed.Pharmacist didnt come in woman tells me.This is the 2nd time this occurred.First time an Asian man with a white jacket walking towards the pharmacy doorway says to me no we closed laughing as he says it. Asian guy couldnt move fast enough to get away....Workers are clueless about hours of operation, sale items, & expired products.I wish I had a photo of this guy a real Ahole. He couldnt be bothered. He looked like someone who worked in pharmacy.Perhaps I will edit this review at a later time. Its unfortunate that the employees are not updated on hours. Duane Reade executives are morons for hiring adults who behave like their 4 yrs old. I give the pharmacy area a 1/2 star. read more

I made a purchase online and needed to return two of the items . The young girl with curly hair at the register started my return and said I would only get store credit because I didn't have the slip that came in the box , even though it was prompting me to swipe or tap my card . I had my confirmation number from the order pulled up on my app . She than told me I would need the email with a barcode . I asked her if she could call the manager over because it didn't make sense as to why I couldn't get a refund to original form of payment . She and the manager said it was because it was delivery from store which it wasn't it was shipped . They basically came up with every excuse and scenario of why they couldn't give refund back . I called customer service who told me they are absolutely supposed to take the items and issue refund . Rep over the phone issued my refund and sent an email confirmation, he instructed me to hand the two items to the employee. I did and she threw them behind the register as if I ruined her whole day lol unbelievable. Please train your employees and know the correct protocols. read more

The star rating remains the same! Although this store has finally removed the busted cans of red bull (I think) I noticed to other cans popped open with guck all over them! Honestly, does anyone ever clean the refrigerator in that store?! Still, the cashier is nice, and aside from the back the store seems to be in decent shape. Pictures posted of the popped cans. read more

Don't waste your time. Waited over 10 min for assistance with an ink cartridge I wanted to buy ,and absolutely no one helped. A slim guy that works there was more worried about the beverage delivery. Couldn't even tell me I'll get someone to help you or just give me a minute to help you. He just looked at us and turned his head to the delivery that was going on. I walked out. Ridiculous wait time and never got assistance. read more

I have been using this pharmacy since transferring all my prescription here. Staff Members are polite and helpful. Especially Ms Andira who guides one thru the whole process of filling the prescription. Update: Easy helpful staff. 4 stars read more

DO NOT GET YOUR VACCINE HERE! RUN. I have never encountered a more harsh injection in my life. The pharmacy manager Angelina provided the vaccine. No introductions ( I had to ask another person to get her name to write this review), no observation after the shot was given, and no common courtesy to even explain the side effects, etc. Angelina had no care in the world. She immediately shot the vaccine in my arm and then said, wait 10 mins. No observation, I wonder if I fell or got dizzy what would have happened?!! She went and locked up for lunch and left. So did the other employees. She was in such a rush, and I have never seen unprofessional behavior like this from a pharmacy. I was terrified of this vaccine, and she made my experience so horrible. Go somewhere else. She has no respect for the people who go here. read more

This Duane Reade sucks! Submitted photo on 8/28/20. They tell me that the photo will be ready on the 29th. I went on the 29th, they tell me that they are out of paper. I returned on the 30. Now they tell me that it will be ready on the next day. I went back on 8/31/20. One employee tells me that photo supplies are still in the truck, it's 5pm. Another employee named "Luke" tells me that I was misinformed, now the photo machine is broken. What kind of staff do you people have running this place? read more

DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY !!! The manager of the pharmacy is a white lady with short hair and is super lazy I was in pain I arrived at 9:20 when I asked to pick up my medicine (ONE PILL BOTTLE) OF ANTIBIOTICS the manager told me to come back at 10:30 because she has to TYPE SOMETHING since when does it take one hour to TYPE SOMETHING in my opinion they are lazy and comfortable with pushing customers orders back cause they can care less they are there from 9-5 that's all they care about. So if you in pain and need medication use another pharmacy in the area it will be a lot faster read more

A chain store pharmacy, not much different from any other, not terrible, not terrific.

Jerry Seinfeld had a bit about shops an the airport pricing their items with no actual reference to real world prices. That is what Duane Reade is like. I like the convenience and the remodel makes a huge difference but some of their prices leave me scratching my head. read more

Me and my cousin when to go get some pictures, we were waiting to get the pictures on the line and then they tell us in a rude way that the pictures are going to be ready by 4:00 and it was 2:30 we went to walk around until 4:00, then we went back and they told us that there Computer was not working and to come back tomorrow. So basically we wasted one HOUR and 30 minutes to get the pictures and we didn't get them. read more
