On 1/17/25 a little after 7:00AM I was at the deli counter simply asking for a pound of turkey. I was met with attitude by someone who seemed like they did not want to be at work and I sensed she really did not want to service me. She asked what brand of turkey I wanted, i asked what type is available. The response "whatever is in the case" I walked away without offering a thank you for my turkey. She shot at me "you're welcome". When i got home i called the Stop and Shop deli and asked for a manager the woman who picked up simply hung up on me. I called back and spoke to a manager through the produce department and relayed my concerns. They apologized and said they would follow up, whatever that means. My point being is no one is in the mood to be on receiving end of someone's attitude especially so early in the morning. I never write reviews, but today i felt compelled. read more

I've been a weekly regular shopper at this location for a very long time. Today there was this weird guy in a green jacket following me throughout the whole store. As I'm getting in my Uber I was accused of taking things without paying. Last time I ever step foot in that location I don't even think I want to ever spend my hard earned money with the franchise anymore. I took the A train from North Brooklyn for a beach day at Rockaway Beach. Getting off at Beach 67 St. Station Arverne By The Sea, I saw this Stop & Shop and thought I'd pop in to pick up a salad from the deli, rather than over pay for food truck grub at the beach. I was glad I did. After locking my bike to the provided rack outside, I went inside and found the store to be spacious and clean. It's well stocked with popular brands of food and sundries and even had a covid 19 vaccination station. The deli is huge and had fresh, pre-made salads that looked great. I grabbed a Greek salad and easily made my way to find a a soft pack of Bumble Bee tuna to add some protein. On the way to the register, I grabbed an Rx bar and with my lunch in hand, jumped on line at self checkout. The line was long, but moved fast, mostly thanks to a very hard working and attentive clerk who skillfully shuttled people in and out of the self checkout stations. She even had time to make a little boy (and his mother) smile when she asked if he'd share a box of ice cream pops he clutched in his hands. I scanned my items easily and before I knew it I was out the door. No word yet as to whether the clerk got her ice cream pop. read more

Yesterday I lost my wallet. It must have fallen out of my bag after checking out. I didn't realize until I got home. I had my credit cards, license, some cash in it. I called the customer service and was told she had it at the desk!! What a relief! Everything was still in the wallet. It's nice to know there are still good people around! I have 3 supermarkets within walking distance, and my preference is to take the train 5 stops to Stop and Shop in Arverne or the bus to Five Towns - Stop and Shop for meats, cheese and a host of other products. We cant expect much from employees in these supermarkets but what employers should expect is for employees to not abandon their duties to go off to have a chit chat with another employee on the other side of the store especially if you are stationed in produce. On July 26th, 2023 @ 7:13 am the hispanic woman who was responsible for cleaning the produce section abandoned her duties as can be seen in these photos. I seen her talking to the male hispanic employee on the other side of the store which is extremely unprofessional. If you want to chat go chat on your break or in passing but not 13 minutes after the store opens. Clearly she does not care about her job so she should quit and or stop and shop should fire her or hold her accountability for her actions and lack of. I gave two stars because of the prices ad the cleanliness for the rest of the store and conduct for rest of employees which is alright and bearable!!! read more

This is the most unprofessional store, I went into store, I wanted to get Crab legs, the seafood department person was on break, so you don't have someone that can take over while the person is on break. I was in store for a 1/2 hour and still couldn't get any Crab legs cause no one came to help us. Paid for my other items and still no one came to the area. Every time I go to this Stop and Shop I find that advertised items are out of stock, whether it's the first day of the sale, in the middle of the week or the last day of the sale. I understand that there are supply shortages nationwide but to advertise something on sale and then repeatedly not have it in stock is false advertising and discourages customers from patronizing your store. I have not found this problems in the other supermarkets where my family shops. read more

I come here every other day. They're pretty clean and they have a great selection of food. They even have a decent amount of vegetarian/vegan options in the frozen and dairy isle. I usually come here for their fruit. However, their pre-cut fruit can be very pricey. You'd save a lot of money buying whole fruits and cutting them up yourself. This is a very popular place to shop for groceries because it is the only decent place to get everything you need in the area and its conveniently located for people who do not drive. Expect to find a crowd during after-work hours. A lot of beach visitors come here during the day in the summer-time. read more

I come here at least 2 to 3x a week. Some workers know me because I'm here a lot. That's not the point though. Im here to be honest right? Here goes. The staff is helpful and friendly. They maintain the store clean and organized. The products are fresh and the prices are good. There's another stop and shop on B. 113th street whos prices are higher than this store. Just saying. Now, the lines are ridiculous! So many registers and only one or two are open at most. Oh no, dont even think about coming here on the weekend. Good luck. They opened so many self checkouts yet people prefer to wait on those long lines when they have one or two items. I don't get it. There's a worker standing there to help in case you need it. Go there instead. They seriously have to do something about the lines and open up more registers. On another note, parking is awesome. Also, they offer free samples sometimes which is nice. The store itself is great, (good selection, decent prices) but their employees... Whooo-ee... They leave a bit to be desired. God forbid you need assistance at the self checkout, because all you get is attitude. The employees in the regular checkouts move at the pace of glaciers and don't EVER come in on a Friday when SNAP payments get deposited. I waited 25 minutes to buy 3 items before. People even use the self checkout to ring up their FULL cart(S - Yes, sometimes MORE than one!) that are overflowing with items. Only time to go is first thing in the morning, or late at night... Oh... Their security is a joke too. I've watched people BLATANTLY shoplift, feet from the security guard and yet they do nothing... Even when you draw their attention to it. SMH... read more

I'm definitely more of a ShopRite fan but this Stop & Shop is super clean and convenient. Lots of parking on both sides of the stores. It is located in a decent area unlike the nearest Key foods and ShopRite. They deli counter is massive, just like the produce section and they are well stocked. There is a nice bargain and discounted aisle too. I also like the fact that they have a natural foods aisle. As far as ethnic cuisine is concerned, its okay. It caters mostly to the Jewish and Italian clients so I pick up my less common Caribbean and East Indian items at Key foods. The meat selection is alright, the seafood is definitely better. The selection of items is overall pretty good, I can't complain. Just make sure you get your card to save a couple bucks. My biggest complaint is the customer service. I am usually patient when I go here but I've been treated pretty shitty the first couple times I've been here. I used a check once ( I know...) and asked for 50 bucks in return, I got charged the regular amount and then had to jump through hoops and call all these numbers for a refund...I never got it back. I went to the customer service center another time and was completely ignored. Same with the deli, the employee saw me and literally walk away and started sweeping. Overall? I can't wait til the Stop & Shop near Belle Harbor/Rockaway Park opens up. Until then I'll probably continue going here. read more

Since Sandy we have only a choice of Stop & Shop in Arverne by the Sea or the one replacing Waldbaum's, which is sad. That being said, this one in Arverne by the Sea is MUCH better than the one replacing Waldbaums. This supermarket was built as a Stop & Shop, it is laid out as such so it's much easier to shop there and find what you need. The deli section, while often crowded is very good. The store is clean, well managed and well stocked. You won't find Prime meats, but you can find organic and grass fed. Produce area is pretty good. Prices are up and down but the sales are good and you can load coupons to your card online. There are organic choices as well as gluten free. Checkout lines are way too long, understaffed, and self-check area machines are not always 100% working. Parking is great. read more

During this in certain time I pick up for my family and disinfect all products I buy since I have my sister mother and father and wife's grandmother and parents who all have pre existing conditions. They do not all live in the same household. I do not have time to be coming everyday to pick up food because I am part of the essential list for the government I do work six days and Tuesday has been my day off and my family depends on me doing it because if they contract the covid19 they will die. I tried asking to purchase more items of chicken today so I could meet my weekly pick for the hem and as denied due to store policy. But they will not bend no matter what so I guess this store really don't care about the well being of individuals who have to do hat I have to to protect family from contracting the disease. They should create some sort of protocol to assist people like me trying to protect family who are in the pre existing condition category. This location is rude and has no courtesy. read more

Okay so I have mixed feelings about this place. Let's start with the good. It's very very clean and spacious. When shopping at Stop and Shop you are very unlikely to be banging into other shopping carts isles are a descent size. Pharmacy department is very helpful and polite when refilling and picking up prescriptions. When they do have sales they are very good and almost never out of stock on something that's on sale. The bad they are so OVERPRICED. From produce,meat to the deli department just very overpriced. Went to Stop and Shop the other day and they wanted $6 for strawberries and they weren't even organic. And if you want something in the deli department be prepared to wait at least 15-20 minutes lines are always long in deli department to the point where people just walk away their ticket # gets called twice then on to the next #.giving three stars because it's clean and where I get my medicine read more

This place is really mediocre on its best days. The service is usually pretty bad and the lines are always long. They have a large self service check out area, but often many of the stations are closed which makes no sense to me. Sometimes the prices are good and other times average. First,it is a welcome new store to a new neighborhood plenty of parking wide aisles ,good selection.Prices are generally less than similar items elsewhere .The only weakness is the fresh fruit and veg,,most are hard and tasteless I would not eat most of them ,the tomatoes again have no flavor..Overall though a nice place to shop. read more
