I almost didn't write this review due to the fact that all of the reviews are the same... terrible. Unfortunately Richard R. will continue to run his business this way. I am not pissed that my wife's car got towed, even if it had 4 car seats at the Dana Point Harbor which stranded my whole family (I am actually really pissed about that). I'm not that pissed about the A$$hole at the impound lot behind A's. I get it. That is the best he can do in life. Fine. I am pissed that they give these "private patrols" kick-back$ for calling them to tow before they even ticket. My wife's car was towed within 30 minutes of being there. Total F-ing scam. What the lady at the office is thinking of doing? Does she think she is in army? She's behavior is unacceptable. We, the people that you tow their cars, are your clients. We pay for your salary. I understand that people are not going to be happy when realizing their car has been towed, like mine was last night, so the employees probably get lots of attitude/etc, and it's not the tow companies fault- I get it. But the woman I dealt with could not have been colder or more unprofessional. I'm not quite sure what I did to her, but she needs a serious lesson in respect and professionalism. I have been to the DTS tow yard in Dana Point 3x now. This morning I walked out to my car and discovered that CPS towed my car even though it was safety listed and permitted. They informed me I had to pick it up from DTS and that I would not be charged, I also had to call DTS to get my car. When I called this morning I had the pleasure of dealing with the rudest and most unprofessional woman. She clearly was making it very hard for me to get my car when I told her I needed to retrieve my car immediately or else I would lose my job. There was no trying to help me or even any empathy for my situation, even becoming argumentative with me when I explained my car was wrongfully towed. I was informed it was by appointment only. I asked if I could get my car 25 min from when I was calling. She was not having it. She didn't say yes and she did not say no. She said, "HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO CONFIRM THE APPOINTMENT OR TIME WITH YOU WHEN I AM CLEARLY ON THE PHONE WITH AND NEED TO CALL TO SEE IF SOMEONE WILL BE THERE!" But guess what? Someone was there already, because when I showed up exactly 25 minutes later, I walked up to a man screaming and shouting at a woman who worked at the tow yard. He said to me, "Hey I would inspect your car because they towed my car and scratched and dented my entire front end of my BMW!" He was so unhappy and I could see that the woman that worked there, a larger woman, darker skin, brown curly hair dyed purple that drove a motorcycle, was being argumentative with this person. When I walked up she yelled at me to stay out of the yard. I told her I was picking up my car and I was in a hurry to get to work. She just yelled at me to stay out and she'll get to me when she gets to me. I don't know what this man said to this woman but she backed down and stopped yelling at me and and him. When it was my turn to sign my papers and collect my car she was so rude. She even tried to charge me $285 and I had to explain to her again that CPS told me I wouldn't have to pay because they towed my car without reason. She she x'd out the price and said oh yeah I remember now. The other 2 times I had been there to retrieve my car have been equally unpleasant (which I expected from this company) but today was just over the top. I think their business conduct and how they tow cars and how they release them needs to be reviewed with state law. Something is not right and I think borders unlawful. read more

I needed a car towed they were on time and reasonably priced. The customer service was over the top and very different from other tow companies. It's nice to see people who really care about doing a good job. Hats off to Rich and his dedicated crew! read more

This company needs to be reported to the DA's office for questionable business practices. My niece had her car towed from her apartment parking area, having been told by one of the managers she could park there and then another manager had her car towed around 3 am on a Sunday morning. Tow fee will set you back at least 150 and then 80.00 each day. I tried paying for the fee over the phone so my niece could pick up the car but they won't take payment via phone or online. My new goes to pick up the car but because both her dad and she are listed on the title, they won't release it to her; her dad has to be there too! He was in San Diego so one more $80 day until she could pick up her car. Total fees were $600. They also want to be paid in cash so who knows what this rip off artist is actually reporting as income to the IRS? I'll be filing a complaint with the city of Dana Point, and Orange County requesting this business be audited. If could give no stars I would. Karma, Richard, Karma!! read more

They are the worst people that we had to deal with for getting my car back. When we went to their location at the lake forest lot no one was there so I called the contact number 714-669-2736 and the lady said we needed an appointment which we were not told the night before when we called regarding our car being towed. How ever we stayed for one hour till some one showed up and let us in. When we saw my car, I noticed my car was broken in to and we could not even be able to start the car to move it out of the storage area and the woman who worked there claimed the lights were left on how ever when they towed my car it was locked and no light was left on. The Lady who worked there was extremely rude and she wouldn't give me her name or even their business card nor the name of their management team and kept saying she does not have to give me any information and for us to leave their lot. We called the police and when the police officers arrived they even said that people who work there at that location of DTS are very rough and impolite and we should not speak to the woman regarding the situation. We asked the police officer to stay with us while we paid our bill because we felt it was not safe to be there by our selves. Then we called AAA to tow my car to the dealership and they said the battery was dead due to alarm going off while it was broken in to. I did report them to Better business Bureau as well and they will contact them regarding this situation. So be careful if ever had to deal with this people. So the morning of my car not being on my driveway, I instantly thought to myself that my dad had moved it so I asked him about it and had no idea. That's when I knew my car had been towed because before I had gotten a notice about not having my car not "properly" parked and I contacted one of my neighbors and she told me about how some signs in your neighborhood have phone numbers on them about impounds. I found DTS and was doing some research about them and how everyone's reviews seemed terrible so I was preparing for the worst. I called the first time, put on hold forever, called again, no answer, called again, lady everyones talking about picked up. She picked up and was nothing like the way people were talking about. She was kind and very easy to communicate with. I'm only 16 and never do reviews but figured since this is an important lesson, I would put it out there for others in this situation. My experience is similar to Todd B. where I picked it up next to A's in Dana Point. You really can't be mad about it unless it isn't your fault. i noticed that my car that was impounded after being discovered by local LE, the car was stolen a month prior, by the time it got to the Perris impoundyard in Perris calif, the original wheels and tires were gone. replaced by a different set. somebody is a thief, thinking nobody would notice the wheel swap. don't know if it was the flatbed operator or the yard staff itself, but i am going to notify my insurance company of the SHIT going on.
