Zero stars. These clowns towed a lifeguard truck while he was on duty at Doheney WITH his lifeguard parking permit visible in the window! When he went to pick up his truck, they had photos of the vehicle, his parking permit was visible in the window and yet they still made him pay $545 to get the truck back! Do not give these shady scammers your money. And shame on whoever hired this company in the first place. read more

Worst towing service! While I was trying to explain the lease and show him the name and information, he wouldn't even look up or respond. When I told him he had an attitude, he agreed and snapped back that he didn't have to do the tow at all and could just leave. He slapped my driver's license into my hand and walked off. The whole incident is on our security camera, but even with that, the company barely takes what I say seriously. It's obvious they're not interested in improving their service. Do not recommend! read more

This place is a joke. They towed my car from my condo and told me to come here. I took an Uber to get my car and for my surprise the car is in a different location. And they have the audacity to say they gave me the right address. They are robing you in plain site read more

They could improve the people picking up the cars. changing prices from 100 to 145 like people wouldn't notice. you guys are scum of the earth, I had to be at work and thank god I have 2 cars. your middle aged alcoholic deadbeat father picked up my Tahoe for the 2nd time. I don't care if your contracted with the complex you need to know common decency. you didn't have the car up in the air you didn't even have the skid under the front wheels yet talking about a drop fee. Just move your shit and I'll drive away. you people disgust me and boy I'll express this way more in person and update it with names. read more

Yesterday, my car was towed by this towing company. When I called them, the person who answered was extremely rude. His tone was full of impatience, provocation, and even contempt. Some of the things he said to me included: "Didn't you just hear what I said?" "Why are you asking me? Didn't you just ask me this?" "Didn't you listen carefully? Repeat it back to me." I completely understand that the staff may be emotionally affected by constantly receiving angry calls, but maintaining a basic level of professionalism should still be expected. No matter what, they are the ones answering the phone. On top of that, our car has already been towed, and we have already experienced frustration and inconvenience. There is no reason for us to go through yet another unpleasant experience. Not to mention, the fine imposed by the company is $510, which is by no means cheap! The business owner asked me to provide my vehicle information for clarification. My license plate number is 9EQZ706 / job number is 69520 read more

Car got towed at night (my fault) showed up at opening time just to wait 3 hours for someone to show up and each time i called i was told it would be 20 minutes... and turns out they charged me a way higher price than someone who lives in my neighborhood with the exact same vehicle... if you need a tow pick any other company because they are clearly not honest people. read more

Stay awaaaaaaaaaaay from DTS Towing!! For context, my apartment complex has exactly 6 onsite visitor spots for literally hundreds of units, and it is difficult to even obtain a pass with all the competition for them, especially since parking on the street means climbing up the huge hill of a driveway. I got one for my boyfriend so that he wouldn't have to scrounge for parking (I live in an area with a lot of apartments) then hike up the driveway when he got in late at night. Of course, there were two cars with resident permits in the visitor parking and no other open visitor spots when he came in. I called this DTS location after being told by its Garden Grove counterpart that it serviced my apartment complex. I explained to the guy who answered the phone that there were cars with resident permits parked in the visitor spaces. The guy says that unless it's a numbered spot or a fire lane, they can't tow unless management or security patrol calls them. Fine, fair enough. But then I ask if he could confirm the security patrol service contracted with my complex so I could call them myself (because my apartment complex is janky AF and they don't have the contracted security patrol's name or number posted). "I have no idea who it is," he says. Okay.... so I ask if there's any way he could look up who it is, knowing full well he can because his Garden Grove counterpart already tried to look for me. "Well, I think it's Messina but I can't be sure." I reiterate my question about whether he can actually check in the system. "I have no idea, we haven't been called out there in so long." Now I know this is a lie, as my complex literally switched security patrols a few months ago BECAUSE the old patrol wasn't calling for towing, and my neighbors have been complaining since because the new patrol actually has people towed. And furthermore, he STILL WASN'T LOOKING IT UP IN THEIR SYSTEM. He didn't tell me he wasn't allowed to give me their name, I mean he had already thrown out a name of a company that he thought it might be. It seemed like he just couldn't be bothered to look. Sir, are you lazy? Do you not want the profit from the tow? I'm not asking you to call the security patrol yourself. I'm not even asking for you to give me their number. I am literally asking for just the name of the contracted security patrol that you obviously have but for some reason can't be bothered to look up. I gave up asking because it was obvious he didn't want to help me and wasn't going to, and I needed to call my boyfriend to let him know calling DTS was a monumental waste of time and to look for street parking. And if the owner/manager/whoever of DTS is wondering who I spoke to, I called on June 7, 2025 at 1:31AM, only to deal with this level of ineptitude. read more

Yes, I'll take responsibility -- I parked where I wasn't supposed to, and I completely understood that part. Honestly, when I first realized the car was gone, I was actually relieved to find out it had been towed and not stolen. I thought, "Okay, this is the better situation of the two." But that relief quickly turned into frustration. When I called and found out where my car was, I took an Uber there thinking I could pay and pick it up -- only to be told they couldn't release the car because I was using my husband's credit card. He's at work paying the bills, and they still refused to accept it without his signature, even though we're married and share finances. No one bothered to tell me over the phone that the card had to be in my name before I spent money on an Uber and showed up. That's what really upset me -- the lack of communication and basic customer service. DTS Towing could easily avoid situations like this by being upfront with their policies when people call. read more

My car was towed away because a violation. the cost was $510.00! this is not a towing company but just simply a robbery!! read more

DTS will rob you blind! Their charges for towing alone are almost $300 and then they make you pay "gate fees" of $140 if you can't pick up the car before 5pm plus the daily storage fee! And they are never even there to let you in! They deliberately make it impossible to get your car out in a timely manner so they can just rack up the fees. Their posted placards say their business hours are 8am - 5pm but that is a lie because they are never there! They will require you to make an appointment at a time that's convenient for them while your car sits there accruing fees. How is this even legal??? read more

My car was towed here twice within a month. First time was my fault. Second time was not. I don't hold that against them because I know they're just doing their job. Even so, the service was really bad both times. The cost for the first tow was $510 even though they had my car for less than 12 hours. The first time, they parked my car so close to a truck that I had to climb in the passenger side to get into the driver's seat. The car was also so close to the fence that I couldn't inspect it for damage before signing the waiver to get it out. The second time, they parked my car in a huge puddle. I had to get there before 5pm, so I was in work clothes. I had no choice but to submerge my feet in water and ruin my shoes to get inside my car. I left work early to get there before 5pm to avoid their gate fee. Even so, they were 45 min late to the appointment they required me to make. Since they didn't tell me they would be late, I was alone in the cold dark rain in a sketchy block in Lake Forest for 45 min. read more

Richard. Your company towed my car for patrol one. While it's never fun to have one's car towed I had poor experience with your staff this AM. I called at 7am and was told my car was at Lake Forest. I was told there would be someone there at 8am so I could get my car. I spend $30 on an Uber and was there right at 8....8:05.....8:15 nothing so I called again. I was told that NOW I could get my car by appointment only and the soonest they could help me was 1 hour. When I expressed frustration I was hung up on. So I called AGAIN I was told that I was in the wrong and mis-heard the guy at 7am....meanwhile another guy shows up to get his car....same story....was told to be there at 8am...he was told he would have to wait 90 minutes. So clearly we were both given wrong information and your staff was not being truthful. The sign on your business clearly says regular hours 8-5 M-F, not by appointment only. I STILL don't have my car and am HOPING someone is actually there at 12:30 when i have my appt. (plus I have to pay for another $40 uber to get to work because of your staff AND another uber back again at noon) Look, I get this is your business and people make parking mistakes, but the lack of professionalism when people need to get on with their lives is really disappointing. read more

DTS charged us $360 for 10 miles and 3 hrs storage just cause our car was touching the redcurb in a public street, not a private property, overcharging its not cool and taking a car ilegally from a public street that DTS may not have jurisdition. $265 for tow 10 miles plus $85 (per day) our car was there only for 3hrs making a total $360 for student who works in Mc Donalds making minimum wage. We shouldnt do private or public contracts with companies who target the less fortunate areas with the highest towing prices in town, just cause we cant afford to get a lawyer to defend us. read more

These people wrongfully towed my car from the assigned spot which it belonged too. Allowing someone else to park in the spot. Upon finding that the car was missing. I contacted these people only to be treated with rudeness. Which was unbelieveable, because they stole my car. Anyhow, I was told to email information to them to prove the car was park in it's rightful spot. The email address I was given was incorrect. I called again for the email address. This time they were nicer to me. I was told I could come pick up my car no charge as they discovered that the car WAS in it's rightful spot. Very disappointed and angry about the entire ordeal. Unbelieveable.... read more

Called for someone parking in a reserved spot I pay for at the complex I live at. Was quoted 45-55 minutes, but they ended up getting to me in 22 minutes! This is the 2nd time I've called them for the same issue, they are always nice and very prompt. The guy who came out said it would take him 25 minutes to get the car out, it took him 10! So overall a 30 minute process. The reviews on here are hilarious! And I love the owners responses the reason they have little stars is because people who are in the wrong don't want to take accountability so they gotta take it out on someone. Great job DTS! And thank you for providing a great customer service experience and promptness! read more

Price for towing service is outrageously high, almost $500 for less than 1 mile lol. Damages the car in the process too.

Very poor service and shady drivers. Stay away from this business. They pick up cars without authorization to steal your money.

Reviewing the Irvine location - my car got towed from the neighborhood because our HOA is difficult with street parking. The woman on the phone who told me which location my car was towed to was so rude, didn't warn me of pricing or anything. (I would have saved 105 dollars if I went to get my car later in the morning). I went to get my car within 3 hrs of it being towed because I work on call shifts and I needed me car to get to work. 390 dollars and my car had a huge scratch on it. Didn't know about waiting until 8am to save 105 dollars. If I did, I wouldn't have even bothered getting my car from them at 1 am and I would have just gone to work first. But who knows, if my car was only there for 3 hrs and it has a scratch, if it's there all day I would probably have a dent or missing a side mirror by the end of the day. read more

I wish they just said sorry that this happened it's not fun getting your car towed and there not very kind about it.

Worse company ever. Got my car tow by DTS according to their policy to pick up its only by appointment, made my appointment show up only to find out driver had to leave and now I have to wait probably an hour. The person answering the phone Jessica cant give an accurate answer of when someone will be available to help me. They already taking my money and have no consideration of wasting peoples time. I don't normally write reviews but had to in this case. Just spent the past 10 minutes cackling while reading the reviews left for this place and the owners responses. Quality comedy. I called earlier to find out how much it'll be to get my husbands car out (annoying but our bad, we left it in guest parking by mistake) and the ladies I spoke to in garden grove and lake forest were helpful and pleasant. Clearly explained how to find the location and fees. Treat people how you'd like to be treated! Imagine if you only interacted with people having a terrible day, I'd turn into a goblin too. It's not their fault you got towed. It's not personal, it's business and Rich is not running a charity. read more

These guys stole my car from my apartment complex. They had no right to tow it and they are absolutely the worst tow company to employ for your property management needs. I will be suing them and my complex for using them. I wish the utmost look to you guys as I will win four times the amount as we finish this process up in court. Not only did they steal my car from my complex, they lied about how they supposedly attained verification to tow, never reported it to the police. And when I went to locate my vechicle they sent me to three different locations to try and find it. When I finally found it, I went to look inside my vehicle for the belongings and they stole everything inside of it as well. read more

I got my car towed, not because I was a bad person, but parked in the wrong spot. Drag...no one to blame but me. But then to have such an unpleasant person to have to deal with made it down right humiliating. The Lake Forest location looks like a haunted house, cobwebs and all. It's dark and damp...I'm allergic to mold and immediately my lungs filled up with it. The mistress of the haunted castle should have a name badge "Misery". We were not unfriendly but she sure was able to change our moods from bummed to down right pissed off. She is slow to move and didn't show any ability of proper customer service. Funny reviews, I got my car impounded and had to go collect it at the yard behind A's (Dana Point) After reading the reviews, I expected the worst but what I got was far from it. Remember, these people are here to do a job, not to make you feel warm & fuzzy. If you don't want to deal with them, don't get your car impounded. They don't tow cars for no reason. When I called, the lady did have a little attitude but that was expected given the caliber of people she has to deal with. That I can handle.. Where I live, they don't just tow your car away. Somebody has to sign for it, the security patrol. It's not the tow company's fault for impounding my car. It's ultimately mine for parking where I did. It's kind of a bummer when you walk outside in first thing in the morning and your car has disappeared and your first thought is "thanks Obama/" I was pissed but it finally wore off. $285 kinda stings but oh well. The deal is, be there by 5 PM or there's an additional charge. I arrived at 4:45 and was helped by Chris and all went well. No attitude at all, in fact he was very polite. My car wasn't damaged and nothing was missing. I paid up and was on my way. Note to all the whiners out there: Don't get your car impounded then cry about it, there are far worse things that can happen. read more

I never write reviews on yelp, not for the best nor for the worst places but this towing company right here is the worst place I've been to, worst encounter with other people. The lady who "helped me" gave me attitude from the jump, she had horrible attitude and short temper. Yet when she was on the phone with her co-workers/boss she turned into rainbows and unicorns, super bipolar apparently. I felt intimidated to even ask for any help or ask any questions from this lady. ALSO, it was a pain to find the location the only sign they have up is a small 4x4 poster that has DTS written on it and when I tried to look it up on google AND Apple Maps it did not come up, SUPER SKETCHY. Also before Richard R. replies with his bullshit excuses defending his employees for their shitty services, I would just like to say it's funny that EVERYONE in the reviews section has the same experiences and problems.
