Asked for a warrior cut and showed the guy this video and he didn't even really look at the video just took a wild guess and thought he could do it. he asked me if I wanted it that length and I said yes numerous times. Then proceeds to cut all of my hair off and butcher my haircut. If you're cutting hair, you should only cut a little at a time and ask the customer if that's OK or if they want more off, but he just immediately cut all of my hair off without showing me what he was gonna do or anything. I would have better luck cutting my own hair in the dark than letting these guys anywhere near my hair ever again.

Painful and discomfortable red marks and irritation caused by the barbers careless technique

Painful and poor haircut experience, visited this place 6/10/2024. The barber Anthony left visible marks on the back of my neck, which are clearly the result of careless work and have caused me significant discomfort. Used poor technique to cut my hair resulting in those marks. The area where he cut is painful to the touch and feels irritated. It seemed like he was rushing my haircut and didn't pay attention to detail. I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received,both in terms of quality of the haircut and the physical pain it has caused me. I've been a regular here and always tipped, but I'm starting to believe I have to go to a different barber shop. If it was a little cut it would be no big deal but you can clearly see it was more then that. I normally never write reviews but this just upset me your a professional barber and this is the result of your work.

So I walked in looking for a barber shop in the area. All 4 employees sitting at their stations 1/2 on their phones. Short stick chosen was going to cut me after a little go around... but then he didn't hang up his phone just tucked it between his shoulder and ear. I walked out. I will not be back. 4 workers there and not one customer. Should have taken that as a sign. read more

Can't say enough nice things about these guys. They do a great job at a reasonable price. Been going here for about a year now and can't see myself going anywhere else. Half the time when I've went in, I've had no clue what I wanted to have done past getting it trimmed/cut. The guys have always done a great job of sending me out the door with a great cut. On a side note, bring cash, if you don't want an ATM fee. read more

This has to be by far the best haircut my son has ever gotten!! José at DTR Cuts did a fantastic job. He really took the time to listen to what my wife wanted for our son and didn't rush the cut like other barber shops do. This will definitely be his new barber shop!! I don't think I've ever gotten a worst haircut...this has been my worst experience of getting a haircut. First of all the Barber wasn't sure of what he was doing, I told him many times I wanted just a normal fade and leave the top for later because I was still deciding if I should cut it short or not... then after deciding what haircut I wanted I showed him a picture of what I wanted and the barber messed me up. He cut one side longer than the other and the front and back really short. I was thinking about getting waves but now I might just go bald because I don't even think I want to have hair anymore after getting this cut. I heard good things about the barbershop but this is unacceptable, Oscar I believe was the barber that cut my hair. read more

I been to a few barber shops in my time and I would have to say this one will have my business for a long time as long as they have Andrew. He not only cut my hair but my 2 year old son. I know kids are hard to work with but he was so patient and listen to what we wanted. When he was done it looked better then what we asked. The shop is nice and clean very inviting. The other barber were real chill and laid back, Not all loud and crazy like some other shops. Im just happy I have a safe place where I can take my son. THANK YOU DTR!!!! read more

I've been going to this place for the last 3 years every other week and I can say that I never had a bad haircut. I first came in going to one person but after a while, I got tired of waiting for him because of the amount of clients that barber had so I ended trying new barbers there and I can vouch that everyone there knows how to cut hair! I typically get a mid skin fade with the sides high & tight. read more

Brought my son and I for the first time here this morning. Our go to Barber (for the last few years) got sick and had to cancel last minute. We have to catch a flight tomorrow so we needed to find a shop today. We showed up, put our name in and shortly after we were seated. I didn't get their names but they were the 2 Barbers on the right side when you walk in. We came in at 10am. We are both a little picky when it comes to our cuts. We give them both an "Excellent" rating, 5 Star for sure! Thanks again! Like most men, we are loyal to our Barber but DTR will definitely be our next go to spot. read more

This is by far the best place I've gone to get my haircut. I've been going here for a few years now and every single time I leave the place extremely satisfied with how my hair turns out. I moved earlier this year to a different city and yet I refuse to find somewhere new and I'll keep coming back here until I'm not longer able to. Every one who works there knows what they are doing and all the styles I've seen of people walking out are always on point. My go to person tends to be Charlie but again, everyone is fantastic. read more

I stopped going here recently but it's not bad. I like the price but I had issues at times with consistency so I decided to try something else. I'm also not a big fan hip hop being played super loud or whoever is cutting my hair texting every three minutes. If that doesn't bother you then you should be fine. Everyone is nice and they get the job done. read more

New to the area and seriously needed someone to trim and shape my beard. I checked them out on line and all good feedback. The barber that worked on me did an amazing job on my beard, perfectly done and what in requested. However, I didn't want the sides on my hair cut... he cut up into my hair near my temples and over ears.. looks absolutely silly. So I either need to let it grow out or get a haircut.. I've been wearing hats. Sadly I liked his work on my beard, but I just can't go back.. just pay attention if you go here.. not saying there're bad, just I got jacked.. read more

Needed a quick cut today (Presidents Day) so called this place ~1pm since I was in the area. One of the barbers answered and said there was a 30-35 minute wait so I asked if I can walk in for appointment and he said to come in at 1:45pm. Once I walked in I saw at least 6 guys waiting ahead of me so I'm glad I called in. Andrew, one of the 3 barbers there took care of me just as he finished up another customer. Wait was not long since I called in but probably longer due to the holiday weekend. I'd recommend to bring cash as it's a cash only spot. There is an ATM machine out front, water, magazines and a TV for customers to pass the time while waiting. Andrew did a great job on my cut and fade for $15 and I would definitely recommend this spot and will be back if I'm ever in the area. read more

Looking for a good place to get a cut or trim? This is your place! Went in to have my beard groomed and Keith hooked it up. Best part was that it was affordable that I can go in once a week to have it trimmed up. Wilson's is up the street and had to look elsewhere. It got tiring having to make an appointment and the appointment time extending into late afternoon. Wilson's is good, but pricey. This place may not massage your neck like Wilson's, but that's what a massage therapist is for....honestly. Anyways, will be back. Great service and friendly too! read more

I started taking my son here a few months ago. I have been VERY pleased every time! The price is reasonable and we have gone to nearly every barber and my son has got a great cut. My only recommendation would be make an appt. or expect to wait. I don't necessarily feel that's a bad thing becAuse if there was never a wait, I'd be worried. read more

These guys are good! I got a haircut at a place nearby and I was unhappy about it so I came here. The guy who cut my hair showed me how the other place was sloppy and didn't do a good job. What I like most about DTR cuts is that the beard trim is an ACTUAL beard trim. They make sure you got a straight line on your cheeks, they clean up your neck, and they shape everything up with scissors. I always come out of my haircuts looking like an absolute baller. I challenge you to find a better place for your beard in Redlands. read more

I normally go to Patio Barbershop down the street but since it was super busy two days in a row I decided to try somewhere new. I don't remember the girl's name that cut my hair but she was nice and friendly. The place was empty and I was able to sit right down. So far everything seemed cool. She asked me what I wanted and I showed her two close up pictures with different angles(basically shorter on sides and longer on top, blended nicely). She proceeded to clip my neck and I immediately noticed a pain I've never felt in my whole haircut lifespan. My neck was red and swollen for two days from her attempt at fading my neckline. I won't be going back. I left with a poorly blended haircut on the top and sides, and she didn't even ask if I wanted it styled (just left it wet). Should've been patient and waited to go back to Patio. Good luck. I gave this two stars because she did cut some hair and she was nice. read more

Wack. Some tall older Hispanic guy cut my hair and was the unfriendliest barber I have ever came across. Rushed me out of there super quick too they don't like to take there time with clients. As for my haircut it was very mediocre. I got my haircut done right before New Years hoping for a very clean and fresh cut and instead I was rushed out very quick. As a new customer you want to feel welcomed regardless of what time of day it is. Overall my experience was very unpleasant and I would rather take my business elsewhere. read more

Stopped in for a beard line up on Thursday evening. Thats all i could do since i dont have hair, lol. I saw a few cuts while i waited and they do a great job. Service was on point. Lots of laughs with the barber Marvin. He actually had a superman drape for a boy whose hair he cut. The kid loved it and so did his pops. First time in, just got a tight cut from Adriel, highly recommended! I told him what I wanted and he nailed it, complete with a great fade in the back. These guys are good. Love this barbershop we have been coming here for years my boys always get there hair cut by ANDREW my 4 year old and 11 year old he is very patient with my 4 year old who tends to move a lot always takes his time and does an amazing job. Been coming here for 5 years and have left a happy customer every single time. I've had my haircut by pretty much everyone there multiple times over the years and always come out looking fresh. I love this barber shop. Always great vibes and atmosphere. Ive been bringing my son to get his haircut by Andrew for 3 yrs now. Hes so great with my son. My son looks foward to getting his haircut. The Barbers here are nice and attentive once you walk in. The atmosphere is great. There's ample seating in the waiting area, with a 55" for your viewing pleasure. It's clean and right on the DTR strip, which is a plus. read more

So, I opened up Yelp and searched "mens haircut redlands ca". Naturally I looked for businesses with great reviews and that's when I discovered Patio Barber Shop. It's walk in only and time was ticking. They were closing at 4pm and I was out running errands with my wife and daughter so we weren''t able to get there before 3. So I figured that at least I'll swing by and just check it out. We walked in and it was like a step back in time. Very retro. The decor was very cool and the chairs were old school like at my grandfather's barbershop in the 70's. I read quite a few great reviews about Jeff (the owner) and as we walked in we got a friendly greeting from him. He was cutting a young man's hair and the the cut was fantastic. Out of the backroom came another barber named Jamie. She was super friendly and asked if I was ready. She proceeded to give me the best cut I've gotten since I can remember. Great people, great vibe and very talented at their profession. I've found my new barber. HIGHLY recommend this business!!

I had come in just a few days ago, realized the back wasn't as short as I'd liked when he finished…read moreand mentioned it, but he told me it's better not to cut further since I am trying to grow my hair out. Yes, leaving the back alone would allow for a faster growing out process, but I had come in because this was a maintenance cut to keep it looking polished during the growing phase, and I had made this clear. Since he insisted, I didn't press further and left. I realized after showering that it looked really bad and rushed (see photo) and came in to correct it a few days later (I live 30 mins away, otherwise I would've come in the following day). The other barber quickly cut the back shorter and still charged me. She charged a discounted rate for this correction, but I really don't agree in principle that I should've been charged at all since this was to correct something I had already asked for just a couple of days before during the actual haircut and didn't get. It's not about the money -- this place already charges less than half the price of my usual barber, but it's the principle and lack of consideration that left a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe I should've called before to ask? I did, countless times, but they don't answer their phone, and their Instagram settings don't allow you to message them. When I mentioned this during the correction haircut, the barber's response was "Yeah we don't answer our phone." This issue aside, I also noticed during the correction cut that they don't sweep the floors between customers. There are mountains of hair all over the floor that you need to step over to get to the chair, which is just disgusting. Between that, the fact that the original haircut felt very rushed, and charging me again for a small correction when I had already asked for that during my original haircut, I unfortunately can't justify returning.

We spent about an hour in the chair, yet he left with what appears to be a buzz cut, similar to a #3 or #4 clipper length all over, with no visible style. As this was his start at preschool, I was hoping for a more polished haircut. I'm leaving two stars because the barber was polite and professional. The haircut cost $43.50, which was $35 for the haircut, $3.50 for using a card and a $5 tip. Once the haircut was done, one side wasn't really blended in correctly, the top wasn't cut that right, nowhere near the quality in almost $50 haircut. Also, the place really isn't that nice inside. For $50, I'd rather go downtown, to a nice, clean and comfortable place and get a perfect haircut.

I'm originally from Los Angeles, and I was in dire need of a haircut. I was staying in Redlands Town and I looked up barbershops nearby online and this shop came up. I walked it, and to be frank I was a little nervous, maybe because I was in an area that I was unfamiliar with, but when they sat me down, I told then what I wanted, and they went straight to work. I believe there are 3 or 4 barbers, I forget, but Charlie was the one who cut my hair, and he was very comforting. Even though I wasn't from around there, Charlie was affable, easy to talk to, making it feel like a more personal hair cut, like I had already known the barber for quite a while. He took about 20~25 minutes, taking his time, He does a good job, all around barber with friendly sense of humor. Made my cut with a classic touch, He does the best fades I've ever seen. He spends much more time compared to the other barbers to get it perfect. If you're looking for a fade, asking me if I liked how my hair was periodically throughout the process. Overall, I was very satisfied with the cut, I felt as comfortable as if I were at my own hair salon in LA, and it was for $15, which seems like a good price for a cut in Redlands 10/10 would recommend. read more

I've been going to Charlie for over 2 years now. I couldn't be happier with Charlie, though the other barbers at DTR cuts in Redlands are great also. This place reminds me of the spot I went to growing up. I'm loyal to a fault and once I find something I like I never go anywhere else. He is very professional and his skills are top notch. After he got comfortable with my hair/head shape, we started experimenting. He has never let me down and I am always getting compliments on my hair. He always works to get the smallest details taken care of. He spends most of the time with scissors but also uses the clipper. This last bit is particularly important to me. It allows him to precisely shape my hair. His fades are always on point and he does a great job listening to what I want. He is also great with the products, giving me honest reviews of them. On the few occasions that I have missed him, I have received the same professional service from his colleagues at DTR. I have never walked out of there upset or bothered with the service. The front desk is attentive and nice, some even recognize me and say hello. A nice touch to a place that is packed with people from start to finish. read more

Stumbled across this shop on my way to work one day and was surprised with the speedy service. My bf needed a hair cut. We looked this place up and saw the great rating. The barber we had was so sweet and an awesome barber. He definitely knew what he was doing. Unfortunately we didn't catch his name. But we did take a picture with him.. Anyways. This barber gave top notch service. He has skills with his clippers. Gave my bf an awesome fade. Also, he uses a real barber razor to clean up hair line. I highly recommend this place if you want a fast hair cut for an awesome price. $20, blade clean up and awesome service.. he pay attention to detail,. The staff and kind and professional. Im not really a "Yelper" but after the best fade and haircut/style I got by Adriel yesterday, I told him I had to definitely give him a GREAT review. He's a young guy who's passionate about Barbering. He was telling me how he's competed in his first competition and won and also how he regularly attends classes to help him get better at what he does although I think he's already great! After my haircut, he pulled out this professional camera and started taking pictures of my haircut which was a first for me but I enjoyed it. I asked if he posts his work on instagram and he told me he regularly does then I asked if it would be okay to give out his username over Yelp so people could see how awesome his work is and he said he'd be delighted. I must say I have been to several barber shops in southern California and DTR Cuts stands out! The barbers are skilled, polite, friendly, and professional at all times. Just went in this morning to get a hair cut and like always, I get a hair cut that is perfect! I am comfortable having anyone in the barber shop give me a hair cut and I am guaranteed the outcome will be great. For me, safety, timeliness, and professionalism are key! I have been coming to this barber shop for more than 3 years and I have never had a bad scenario happen. FAMILIES BEWARE: My young son was there to get a haircut. We had come here several times. This time, a guy by the name of Andrew was super rough with my son, to the point where he yanked his head so hard, the guy had to be stopped in the middle of the haircut. The guy was enraged, and, my wife felt he was going to physically attack her. He stared yelling at her. What a coward. I wouldn't be surprised if this guy physically attacked a costumer. We are voicing this again because it seems some of this guy's relatives are trying to hide my wife's original review by posting positive reviews. It's such a shame that this business employs such people, specially after we had been treated so well by the owner on many occasions. read more

I'm absolutely frustrated and disappointed with this barbershop. The barber butchered my beard--crooked, way too low, and still uneven. My hairline is a mess. He even used a dry straight razor on my dry skin, making it feel like he was cutting my face. It was painful and careless. I was so frustrated I finally said, "Ok, I'm done," just to end the nightmare. Meanwhile, my son's hair and beard looked fine--thanks to a different barber--but that's the only positive. Then came the final insult: I was charged $105 for this garbage. I wanted to lose my cool right then and there but stayed calm, paid, and left. I'm now scrambling to find someone to fix the disaster before the night is over. Never again. read more

5-Star experience. All the guys here are very professional and take a lot of pride in their work and in their shop. Very welcoming and friendly. Charlie cut my hair and trimmed my beard and cleaned my edges with a straight raizor he made great conversation. He listened to my ideas and thoroughly explained what he was going to do. Super happy with the results. . Honestly just wowed by the level of attentive service you recieve here. I found this place on Yelp. I was looking for a new barber in the area. I get a bald fade straight razor shaved on the sides, anyone who gets this cut knows that the person who does it needs to have experience in this style of haircut. i called and asked if they did straight razor fades and the guy who answered the phone told to go to Andrew. he made me a same-day appointment with him. I have a special needs kid and it is VERY HARD to find a place that can handle my son. He doesn't sit still and is usually very sensitive (Sensory issues) but the girl in there with black/red hair cut his hair and had him laughing and she gave him a faux hawk. He feels cool and said, " look at my hair!" She has a client for life!!! THANK YOU!!!! Started going to this barber shop over two years ago. And even though I've moved out of town I still come here for my haircuts. charlie is probably the most skilled barber in town. His attention to detail is unparalleled. The location downtown is also really nice. Great atmosphere and tv's on every wall for your viewing pleasures. Been going here for about 2 years, gives me an excuse to ride down and get a hair cut. Charlie's the one I go to extremely professional and polite I'm not one for the small talk and Charlie doesn't push for conversation so it's a nice quiet haircut kinda therapeutic. Not sure about the guy that got charged 38 bucks but I've never been charged more the 15/16 bucks? Try to tip em 5 more if I got it. read more

Great place. My barber shop closed down so I had to find another one. I went to DTR cuts and got a haircut from a guy called Soly. Very nice and friendly guy. Also very professional and doesn't rush. He took his time with my haircut (unlike other barbers I've gone to previously). If you go there ask for SOLY. He's a cool guy and also very professional. He's highly recommended. read more

To anyone considering getting their hair cut here, I strongly recommend against it, unless you enjoy getting a drunk barber who will cut up your head as well. I noticed there we're open Modelo beer bottles out. And people in prison give better cuts, I felt like I was entering the military for real with how rough it was. pathetic barbers lol just go somewhere else read more
