It was Thursday and I had just scheduled an interview for first thing the next morning. I had to get a haircut. I called my usual stylist but she was booked. So, I opened up Yelp and searched "mens haircut redlands ca". Naturally I looked for businesses with great reviews and that's when I discovered Patio Barber Shop. It's walk in only and time was ticking. They were closing at 4pm and I was out running errands with my wife and daughter so we weren''t able to get there before 3. So I figured that at least I'll swing by and just check it out. We walked in and it was like a step back in time. Very retro. The decor was very cool and the chairs were old school like at my grandfather's barbershop in the 70's. I read quite a few great reviews about Jeff (the owner) and as we walked in we got a friendly greeting from him. He was cutting a young man's hair and the the cut was fantastic. Out of the backroom came another barber named Jamie. She was super friendly and asked if I was ready. She proceeded to give me the best cut I've gotten since I can remember. Great people, great vibe and very talented at their profession. I've found my new barber. HIGHLY recommend this business!! read more

I have been going to patio for 10 years or more and I have never had a bad haircut from Jeff. He is the best ever especially for old guys. Now having said that if I walk in there someday and he is wearing trifocals? Well then, all bets are off. Happy Thanksgiving to patio barbershop!! read more

Patio Barber Shop - Take that Mel Gibson - Barbers Near Me - Redlands, California

I had come in just a few days ago, realized the back wasn't as short as I'd liked when he finished and mentioned it, but he told me it's better not to cut further since I am trying to grow my hair out. Yes, leaving the back alone would allow for a faster growing out process, but I had come in because this was a maintenance cut to keep it looking polished during the growing phase, and I had made this clear. Since he insisted, I didn't press further and left. I realized after showering that it looked really bad and rushed (see photo) and came in to correct it a few days later (I live 30 mins away, otherwise I would've come in the following day). The other barber quickly cut the back shorter and still charged me. She charged a discounted rate for this correction, but I really don't agree in principle that I should've been charged at all since this was to correct something I had already asked for just a couple of days before during the actual haircut and didn't get. It's not about the money -- this place already charges less than half the price of my usual barber, but it's the principle and lack of consideration that left a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe I should've called before to ask? I did, countless times, but they don't answer their phone, and their Instagram settings don't allow you to message them. When I mentioned this during the correction haircut, the barber's response was "Yeah we don't answer our phone." This issue aside, I also noticed during the correction cut that they don't sweep the floors between customers. There are mountains of hair all over the floor that you need to step over to get to the chair, which is just disgusting. Between that, the fact that the original haircut felt very rushed, and charging me again for a small correction when I had already asked for that during my original haircut, I unfortunately can't justify returning. read more

Patio Barber Shop - Barbers Near Me - Redlands, California

Took my boys to get all their hair cut and checked out this barber shop and they took real good care of them . The wait was really fast. I didn't have to wait hours to be seen. I like the antique old fashioned style barber look. It gives the place a unique atmosphere . All the barbers were very nice and friendly. This will definitely be mine and my family new barber. I recommend everyone to come here. The prices beat anyone else out there. And very fast service that you won't get anywhere else. read more

Great staff! Husband loves Patio Barber Shop! Highly recommend! Right behind the Lego store (Bricks & Minifigs).

They're fast and get the job done, but it's strange that they have 4 chairs, and almost always have just 2 hairstylists, even when the benches in the waiting area are full. Only during one visit have I seen a 3rd hairstylist at work. read more

Update business hours. Went 3 different times during "open" hours and was closed. This is unprofessional.

I've been coming here for about 6 years. It doesn't matter which chair you sit in, they will take care of you. I have not had one bad haircut since coming here and I appreciate being able to just walk in for great service regardless of who's chair I'm in. Plus the price is very fair, almost too good to be true. It's a nice old school shop that is cash only. For parking, I'd recommend the side streets but try state street first for front parking. read more

Best hair cut in town. I've been coming here for years. Jeff, Jamie and the new guy are great. Can't go wrong with any of them. Very nice people. read more

First time getting my haircut here and I was blown away by the service, speed, and quality of the cut. I will absolutely be coming back for my future cuts. The price was unbeatable too. read more

Great cuts, fast and friendly. Even when the place is full, your wait will be less than 45min.

Jeff does cut hair good when he is at the shop or when the shop is not closed for various reasons (today because kids are sick). I've been to the shop several times in the past two months each time he is gone or closed. What are the hours? Does anyone know what's the business phone is? Try calling ph# here on yelp and no one ever picks up and the message says "box is full". Asked once from the lady barber and she said there is no phone to call. Ed used to be the previous owner and was a great guy and barber, sure do miss Ed! Someone who is a regular most know how to contact Jeff or the lady barber just to know if they're open or not. read more

Jamie did an awesome job fixing my hair after a nightmare cut from empire barber shop next door. Super cool atmosphere-- mix of punky barbers and delightful grandpa customers there in the early morning. Make sure you get there early! I got there at 8 and only waited about 10 mins read more

Patio Barber Shop - nice taper up the back - Barbers Near Me - Redlands, California

I have been to a lot of barbers in Redlands. Our normal shop made me upset when I sat there for over an hour with my 5 year old son just to tell me they wouldn't be able to take us. I googled this place and have not looked back since. There is sometimes a wait, but it's worth it. The owner and his barbers are all very friendly, and do a great job. They do my sons hair exactly how I ask. They also have genuine conversations. The customer service here is above average and they are affordable in a time where everyone else is price gouging. read more

The owner is very nice and can connect with every single customer regardless of their age. He was quick with my son's haircut which was great because he is 3 and hardly sits still on the chair. I would definitely come back for his haircut. read more

Service is great, haircuts are excellent, the vibe is too damn perfect, but I do have a complaint though. They don't ever tell you what time they close on weekdays and weekends. Also, you can't really call the place because no one really picks up the phone. read more

Best haircut in town.....When they're open. Today was not the first time I drove over from SB only to see a sign on the door that they're closed for the afternoon. Love these guys, but this gets frustrating. read more

Walked in with not knowing what to expect. Small, old school style barber shop. The people who work here are next level. Both of my kids got a hair cut within under an hour and they loved it. Our barber made great conversation with the kids and definitely did a great job. Will be coming back to get my own hair cut soon haha read more

They cut hair fine but are NEVER there during business hours and if you try to call ahead to see if they will be there, they NEVER answer the phone. Their time is more important than everyone else's. Bad, arrogant business for a small town community. read more

Patio Barber Shop - Barbers Near Me - Redlands, California

Every time I've come here and the barber is here I've gotten excellent service. Today I got here a few minutes after two ( the site says they close at 2:30) only to be told they were no longer taking clients today. I explained that I come from Highland. Oh, I'm sorry, come back on Tuesday". Not coming back at all. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! read more

I've been coming to Patio Barber Shop since I was a kid! There's a reason why I've been a longtime customer. Jamie and Jeff are great at what they do. I love the environment of the shop and I never have to wait too long for a haircut. I used to see Jamie nearly every time for years but with my schedule I've been seeing Jeff more and neither of them ever disappoint. If you need a Barber shop check them out. Jeff was amazing, he has a great quick hand and always makes sure to make conversation with kids and the parents!!!! Great Barbershop! This is the kind of place that makes me wish my hair grew faster. Not only are they skilled at their craft, but the place has a classic look/feel. I've been going to Patio Barber Shop forever (since I was a baby). I still continue to use Jeff and staff. Jeff gave my son his first haircut and he did a great job (even though my son refused to cooperate). Besides just doing a great job, it is always a good time getting a hair cut with the classic barber shop feel, and great music always playing. I highly recommend. I've gone to a few other shops over the years when in a pinch, and just have not had the same results. Now I refuse to go anywhere else. read more

Love everything about this place! Took my dad and myself for a cut and we both were very impressed. Quick and efficient and uses both clippers and scissors. My dad went first and then asked for a little shorter and he was so enthusiastically willing. Just love the customer service and detail here. Definitely our home base for haircuts now! read more

One of the best hair cut experiences you can ask for. Very social and quick. People that make you feel like family.

I've been coming here ever since I was about six years old. They are the nicest people and give great haircuts. The prices are low and I've always been happy when walking out. They do tend to get pretty busy so make sure you allow yourself enough time to not be in a rush. Jamie has been my barber my whole life and I wouldn't want anyone else. read more

Always seems to be closed! Unreliable and inconsistent! I've tried the morning and I've tried the afternoon, but it always seems like Patio Barber shop is closed when their posted hours say they should be open. It's a shame because I do enjoy their cuts, but I don't think I will continue going there since they always seem to be closed or just close where're they feel like in dispute their advertised hours. read more
