Was in the market for a new display screen for a MacBook Air. The hinge that kept the screen at a suitable angle broke and it laid completely flat open. My iPhone/screen was going bonkers so I had to take it at Dtown Tech, and boy I was happy that I did... After being quoted a fancy high sum for screen replacement by local Apple Store, and a proposal for replacing the phone itself by Apple overseas, it took merely a few mins for Dtown Tech to resolve my screen issue. Apparently, the only resolution for screen issues (per Apple) is a "total replacement". But Blake said it would take less than 15 mins for him to fix it. And so he did (at a price ~2/3rd of what was quoted by Apple)! The service shop is located right in the heart of Doylestown. There is '15-min-Parking' outside on the street, but I didn't have to pay that either as I was out of there within NO time! Blake should be awarded a medal of honor for his technical prowess!!! read more

Blake is fabulous. I was having serious speed problems with my 9-year-old iMac. Blake suggested installing a new hard drive and having seen him be right so many times, I went along eventhough it felt like I was leaving my baby at the hospital. I really can not begin to express how highly I recommend Dtown Tech. In addition to fixing my iphones and MacBook Pro, a year or so ago, they saved me easily $1,500 when they cleaned up and upgraded said Macbook Pro - opposed to replacing it, which is what Apple and another repair service said was my only option. Today, I picked it up, once again working like fresh out of the box - (it's a 2011.) They also loaded an external drive with 3 other old hard drives data, which I was previously told by Apple and others that it would be impossible to do so for less than an astronomically prohibitive cost. I've been taking my apple products to Blake for years (since he was at the old little window office) and have would rate each and every experience 5 stars!!! My best experience was 2 years ago - I was mid finals week at Penn State when my 2012 macbook pro decided to malfunction (when I needed it most). I took it to the tech desk in Paterno Library where they told me the motherboard was fried ($800 fix) and my best option was to buy a new computer. Went for a second opinion downtown State College and they told me the same thing, also charged a $50 "diagnosis fee". So, being in the tough position - I went to best buy and bought a new macbook thinking my 2012 was toast. Fast forward 2 weeks, finals are over and I'm back in Doylestown . I figured I would take my "unfixable" macbook to Blake just to see if he could work some magic on it. Blake told me that my specific model had a factory recall and apple would replace the motherboard free of charge!!!! Blake printed out a sheet and told me to take it to a certified apple retailer and they would fix it free of charge. Blake charged me $0. Blake is a computer wizard. I sent my 2012 to apple and received it back a few weeks later in 100% working condition. Honest and excellent customer service! I stopped in with my old 2011 MacBook Pro that was having display issues. The shop was busy but I was helped quickly. One look after powering my Mac the tech behind the counter immediately recognized the problem. He said my graphics card was bad but that I was in luck because Apple had extended their warranty. "Go get your free motherboard repair!" he said. This info surprised me since I had another shop tell me otherwise. The other servicer took my Mac overnight, charged me $85 to diagnose the issue that DTown Tech spotted in a few seconds at no charge and then the other shop quoted me almost $800 to make the repair that was covered under an extended warranty! I followed DTown Tech's advice and I took my Mac in to the Apple Store. 1-1/2 days later the repair was made for a grand total of $0. Thank you DTown Tech for your huge money saving diagnosis! A couple of months ago, I first took my 2010 MacBook to the Apple store in KOP. My computer screen wasn't fully loading and was pixelated. My laptop was rendered useless. After having it for over a half hour, my "Genius Bar" representative came back and told me that he had no clue what was wrong. He said that he thought my motherboard probably needed replacing, and suggested that I send my computer to a lab of theirs. It was going to be an expensive undertaking. He also said that, once receiving my laptop, they would more than likely wipe out my entire hard drive. Uhhhhh, what? That's your default action? No thanks. Upon recommendation, I visited D-Town Tech. I was pretty desperate, and was praying for some good news. These guys are amazing!!!! It took Blake 5 minutes to figure out what was wrong. Very impressed with these guys, had an iMac that was on its way out, the drive was failing, contacted Dtown and they assured me it can be replaced, took in the computer and was told turn around for it should be 24hrs, they weren't wrong, I could pick it up the next day although data recovery wasn't complete (I suspected that it might be that way so no surprise), Blake told me it was taking time to do a recovery and I could wait another day or so or I could take the computer as is (it was ready to go with the OS reinstalled). Blake was honest and upfront, he won't BS you or try to scam you for services that aren't needed or are pointless, he tells you exactly what the problems are and the best way forward to fix it and if it's even fixable (I witnessed this while waiting as he dealt with another customer), the work bench he uses is next to the service desk so you can see these guys working while waiting, nothing is contracted out, these guys know what they are doing. I would advise making sure you have quarters when you visit, it's all meter parking on the street and the meter people are like ninjas in Doylestown. read more

Blake and his team do an incredible job fixing my iPhone and my Mac Book Air. I used to have to drive all the way to King of Prussia and then Willow Grove (which is 60 min and 30 min away) but what was more of a pain is that they would make me schedule an appointment to look at my Mac.
