My new favorite Sonoma County shoe store! I've actually been…read morehere with a friend with foot issues/problems, the brand he buys Beck's carries so we went there, my friend was happy with the service. I noticed they were attentive and very friendly. Last week I thought I'd try them, after looking for both new boots (dress, not work boots) as well as short heels for a wedding I'm attending. Honestly I went first to a "similar" type shoe store here in Petaluma and found NOTHING. Remembering Becks, I decided to drive up to Santa Rosa and SO SO GLAD that I did! The salesman was attentive and friendly, I tried on quite a few boots and he was patient and nice about it. I decided on not one but 2 pairs of boots and when I saw some cute stylish shoes with 2" heels, I figured why not try them on? He got me 2 different sizes, they were super comfy and I loved them! They did not have my color though, he called another store and had them sent over, I got a call a few days later & Picked them up. I've been wearing them a couple days now to break them in, I'm extremely happy with them. I will definitely be back, I'm so happy with the selection and service. They also carry nice purses and fun socks too. I don't have foot issues but they carry inserts and orthotics and such, too---give them a try, you will be Happy you did! HIGHLY recommended!

Just an update to my review.... last 4 Yelp reviews have been one star reviews. The business…read moreresponse to each one of these one star reviews is for US THE CUSTOMERS to reach out to manager Markus Lopez.... I would recommend Markus Lopez reach out to his Santa Rosa Store Team members to work on team member expectations regarding their customer service since that is the problem that needs to be addressed. Just Wow.... In the wrong way. I was looking for some brown dress shoes from a local retailer. Before going to Beck's Shoes, I reviewed their website and saw that they did carry a small selection of dress shoes, one option being an Ecco shoe which has worked well for me in the past. I walked in today at around 10:15 this morning and the one male team member on the floor was working with a female customer saying statements like "I don't think we have any shoes in our store that will meet your needs". As their conversation continued I walked around the store and saw their small men's dress shoes section had some other brown shoe options that may also work for me. I walked closer to the team member and heard him tell the female customer, "well maybe this one will work, let me go get you one from the back". As the team member walked past me he asked "what do you need bud", and I showed him the shoebox picture of my current Ecco black shoes and asked him if he had it in brown. The team member responded "We just have those in black and walked away". No, "I don't have that brand in brown but I have some other options" nor "we don't have those in the store but have additional options on our website" nor "let me finish up with my current customer and I can assist you." I just got a "no" and a walk away. Well I attempted to support a family business, it is unfortunate the team member I encountered wasn't willing to assist me in supporting a family business.

This is not just a retail store, this is a place where active people can come to be a part of a community. I recently visited the store because I needed to be fit for a new running shoes as the brand I had been using discontinued my shoe model. As a long time marathon runner, I know that value of having the proper shoe for my gait body mechanics. The store offers a state of the art analysis to scan your foot anatomy as well as record your stride / foot strike to see what type of shoe you may need. The process takes about 30 minutes as the next step includes trying out the shoes which are designed for your specific needs ( neutral/ stability etc). This level of service is complementary; no purchase necessary. In addition to their gear, the store also offers a variety of training programs to support novice and experienced runners/walkers. Many participants became longtime friends. If you're looking to get started with a walk or run program or just need some new gear, this is a great option.

With climbing costs and shorter margins there is not a lot of clothing or accessories. It was the items I was looking for.

It's enormous -- the kind of enormous where you half-expect to find a lost civilization in the camping section. And somehow they have everything. Outdoor gear, bike shop, rentals for basically any activity you've ever considered trying drunk at a party, lift ticket discounts... if it involves fresh air and mild suffering, they've got you covered. Now let's talk about the Basementeers membership, because it deserves its own paragraph. Twenty-five dollars. Once. For life. That's not a typo. For the price of a mediocre cocktail, you get 10% off forever, plus occasional 20% Friends & Family discounts. I've made worse financial decisions in the same afternoon. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and seemingly immune to the judgment you'd deserve for asking "what's the difference between hiking and walking." Basically: go. Join. Buy things. Touch grass -- they sell gear for that too.

He was extremely knowledgeable, displayed a high level of expertise with confidence, not arrogance. I really appreciated that. I came in with a problem and was immediately provided and explained options, quoted a more than fair rate and didn't feel haggled or hassled on cheesy up sale techniques. Because of his likability and competency, I took his advice and added a fresh wax. In closing, it's a rarity these days to get high quality service, from people that take pride in their job. Dominick is cut from a different cloth. Sports Basement Corporate, your Ski shop just earned a customer for life and you should promote or at least give a healthy raise to Dominick for the rock star service! Thanks Stephen Watson

I was thinking to myself ... mmmm... was she being rude or ...? Then she grabbed all the shoes that I tried on -- that I don't want -- and she indicated that she'll spray them all down because she's OCD like that. Okay, i'm starting to get her... Towards the end of our interactions and after purchasing 3 pairs of shoes, I found that she just has dry humor. She is not rude. But I can definitely see how it comes across as rude though. Overall I got 3 pairs of great shoes at great value at Azasa.

Artsy and fun and comfortable seem to the the target style here, not so much the high end fancy-to-go-with-your-evening-gown style. Probably want to go somewhere else for that. Perhaps folks are just hunkering down for the big storm today.
