Sadly, I was disappointed with this DSW. The shoe racks and rows were clean and organized but the lighting was very dim and it seemed like they had a smaller selection of shoes on there clearance section than other DSWs nearby. The women's bathroom was also very dirty! Not only were the toilets and stall doors splattered but there was no toilet paper inside any of the dispensers in the 3 stalls (only mostly used up rolls on top of one dispenser and a sanitary napkin box). I was really grossed out and inconvenienced using the bathroom there. read more

I've been to other DSW shoe warehouses that had a bigger selection of every type of shoe. However, even though this particular store wasn't what I expected, it was still ok. They have a large selection of clearance shoes in every size. They have adult and children and toddler shoes. I realize its not dress boot weather or closed toed shoes weather but I was disappointed there was only maybe a handful on display. They have everything from sandals, high heels, nikes, converse, Adidas and the like. I was surprised they had a good selection of Crocs! I had no idea they carried crocs and was pleased to see they had the recent styles for the croc flip flops! I like the children shoes but felt they were a little over priced. Staff was friendly and helpful. They do have bathrooms but they are blocked off due to covid so you have to ask the staff member to use their bathroom. All staff and shoppers wear masks and the store was very spacious so we didn't have a problem social distancing. I don't come here very often but when I do, I always leave with a pair of shoes. They always seem to have a huge selection of shoes for all occasions. Their prices are not too expensive. They also have a small inventory of purses, hats, socks, and other miscellaneous items. The only thing I didn't agree with was the fact that DSW decided to stop giving out bags to customers when they purchase shoes. Not sure why, but I do like having bags to put my shoes in. Checkout staff are usually nice enough but never more than that. I observed the two ladies behind the checkout counter were involved in a personal conversation in front of me, my mom and sister and did not engage with us appropriately like an employee should with their customer. This irritated me a bit since I myself am in the hospitality field. I'll come here again when I need a new pair of shoes, but it won't be for the customer service. read more

It also has a great location near many other stores. This place has just reopened with phase 2 in Virginia. You can order online and pick up curbside or go inside to shop. There were many clearly marked 6 feet areas down the aisles and the aisles were marked for one way only. It looked good inside. However, there were people shopping in the store with NO mask on and the only people working were at the sales counter or stocking shoes. No one working was ever around to enforce the one way aisles. People were going where ever they wanted and not distancing. I didn't even know there was a dedicated try-on area until I was leaving because there was a rack of stuff in front of it when you walk in. There should have been signage to take your try-ons to the special zones and there should have been at least one person walking the store to make sure folks were following instructions and keeping us all safe. read more

I was looking for a pair of slip resistant work shoes for men the day before Christmas Eve 2020 so I knew things would be picked over. The employee pointed me in the right direction immediately. I thought they were overpriced but I found more than one selection of name brand shoes at the last minute so I have to recommend this place for multiple choices offered. They had the size I was looking for but only in a wide. I walked a few doors down to Rack Room shoes and theirs were $10 higher. DSW also offered me a coupon for $10 off my next purchase. read more

This a good sized DSW that has a wide variety of shoes as you would expect. They have a decent selection of campy socks if you need to fill that void. Men's and women's products available but the women's area is larger. In the back you will find the discount racks sorted by size some real bargains in those racks. read more

It looks like many choices yet the choices of sizes are limited. I brought my elderly family members here trying to find summer sandals for them. DSW doesn't carry any Wide shoes. NONE! Not in sandals, not in flats, none is athletic shoes, none in man's shoes, none is women's shoes. Seems strange to have such huge space without proper selection of diversified choices. read more

I LOVE SHOES!!!!!!!! Now with that out of the way, I absolutely LOVE DSW, especially this location. This location and the employees are THEE BEST. This store is always neat and well stocked and the employees actually speak to you when you walk in and they ask you if you need assistance (Lynnhaven and Suffolk need to take lessons from them) and not to mention the prices are great and they have specials all the time. Nice accessories as well and you must check out the clearance section in the back of the store....there are some gems back there. read more

Was shopping here for an hour and no one asked me if I needed any help (I didn't like but just saying). Then when I got to the register there was only one person available but she was o the phone...said she would be with me soon...that never happened. Then another worker came up to the register beside her..waited for her to volunteer to help me. She didnt. So I just came up on my own. Told her it was my birthday month. That usually they send a certificate to use on your birthday month but I didn't see one come in the mail. She didn't respond and didn't even offered to "honor" the 'birthday' coupon. I think I'll stick to the one near lynnhaven mall. This one didn't have very good customer service or selection in my size in their sales section anyway. read more

Remembered why - while they do have a large selection of shoes and the prices seems fairly reasonable... it's a little overwhelming to walk in and just see them everywhere with no real rhyme or reason. Once you start roaming up and down the long rows of shoes they do seem to be separated into a rudimentary sort of order - athletic, pumps, flats, etc.... but it's still daunting and not easy to find a particular thing if you'd like to... This DSW store is pretty large with a wide selection of shoes for women, children and men. The selection of shoes for women is very large and dwarfs the somewhat limited selection for children and men. They also carry a decent selection of handbags and accessories. They have pretty good prices for name brands especially in the clearance section in the back of the store, you can find some serious bargains there. I am only giving three stars because they do not appear to care about stocking wide sizes so for my wife and I this store is totally useless since we both require a wide width. We've been here several times and just haven't been able to find wide widths offered in any significant numbers. On our most recent visit last month I asked a store employee about wide widths, he tried to be helpful but admitted they don't offer much. On this occasion they had only one single style in a wide size in the entire store. Wow! Hundreds and hundreds of styles but they have stock of only one single style available in a wide width. The company website has a nice selection but if you don't fit their standard sizes don't expect to find any shoes to fit you in the store. We've shopped here a few times over the years but don't think we will again unless my wife is looking for a purse. She did buy a handbag here a few years ago and it was of good quality at a fair price, she still uses it. read more

If your familiar with the store you know you can always find a great deal. Their rewards program is one of the best, and most addictive. But really this review goes entirely to customer service. I've always been greeted with a smile, I get help when I need it, and the store is well maintained. Recently I made a trip to a store out in Jersey where they forgot to include a promotional credit and had the shoes priced incorrectly. One phone call to this Chesapeake location and I'll be headed there later today for the credit and price adjustment. Because they are that awesome. The manager and staff just go above and beyond. I generally try to avoid writing reviews for national chains, for the most part you always know what your getting. But these guys deserve a shout out for making me a very happy shoe addict. I also want to admit that I am at this store way, way more often than my checkins reflect. I would never hear the end of it if I was the Duchess of the DSW, so I try to keep it on the down low. read more

If you need shoes, DSW is probably going to have what you want. It is a HUGE warehouse filled with every type of shoe you can imagine; flip flops, sneakers, dress shoes, platforms, sandals, boots, shoes for kids, shoes for guys, and the list goes on. I actually feel a little overwhelmed every time I go into DSW because there are just so many shoes to look at. Another great thing about DSW is they have a large clearance area in the very back of the store, separated by size so you can find what you need easily. There is usually a nice display of 'current trends' when you first walk into the warehouse and then over to your right they have purses, wallets, clutches, socks, and other accessories. There are cash registers to left with employees as well as employees all around the store stocking different shoes. There is never any problem finding someone to help you out. DSW also has a great rewards program and the staff has always been more than willing to help me out with information on it. read more

This store is HUGE, and yesterday had 2 people working to which I had to hunt them down to ask questions. I found a pair of boots, I fell in love with... and the boxes below didn't have my amazon foot size. I asked the woman if she had my size, she said she could order them. Oddly there's signs posted everywhere that say: "WE HAVE YOUR SIZE". I wasn't interested in waiting so I made my way back to the end of the store, and what do I see? The exact same boot, but EVEN MORE BEAUTIFUL!! I don't know about you, but when I worked retail we were never aloud to say "No". Instead you're taught to say, "I'm sorry we don't have that size in that boot, but we have these and these etc." You stick with the customer until they leave satisfied. I couldn't believe just 3 rows over was the same boot (but better) in my giant foot size. They have a great selection, terrible service, and the price was a bit rich for my blood. read more

Attention all NYC transplants!!! Attention all metrosexuals!!! DSW - Chesapeake carries Mercanti's at ridiculously low prices. I came across a Cap Toe Oxford here at $89. You know these shoes retail at $300. That's a savings of 70%! Trust me on the math, I'm Asian. And it wasn't a one or two sizes available, there were eight sizes available at this price. If it wasn't for Christmas wiping me out, I may have bought a pair. Well that's what I tell myself. The truth is, I actually have a pair of Mezlan Cap Toes, so getting another pair is a bit impractical. It's hard to be practical at 70% off.. read more

OK so this is part of my goal to visit every DSW that I come across in the US... I had two weeks in VA and got a bit restless towards the end and came here to shop - 4 pairs of shoes later LOL (and didn't go back for a 5th I had my eye on). This is in fact the largest DSW I have been in, it took ages just to go through the sale racks, there were 8 racks just for size 6 and 6-1/2 which never happens, usually lucky to get 1! So its still a chain and if you have been in a DSW you know what to expect, acres of shoes and no waste on displays or lots of staff :) part of the reason they can cut a deal. read more

They will accept up to three coupons. And depending on who's working, they will take expired ones, as well. Such inconsistencies. This is how I was able to purchase the most beautiful Marc Jacobs pumps regularly priced at $350 for under $60. However, this was a rare instance. this store has a variety of shoes to choose from..dress shoes to running shoes. I notice more women shoes than men shoes, though. The shoes are displayed nicely.
