I bought a Groupon for 3 blowouts and all 3 were great! Melissa did all of my blow outs and I would definitely recommend her! She was nice, easy to talk to, and patient. Each blow out took about an hour to wash, blow dry, and curl which is really good considering how long my hair is. She always made sure I was happy with how it looked and always asked how I wanted it styled at the beginning of the appointment. There regular prices are very reasonable so I would definitely go back to Melissa. I also had her do a fish tail braid for an event and I loved it! So I would go back for just a braided style as well. The downtown location is convenient. The decor is kind of a funky style. Their was usually only 1 or 2 other stylists their when I went. The online booking system works but it not very easy to figure out. It also let me book outside of their normal hours so when I went to one of my appointments I thought they were closed. It turns out the stylist was there but hadn't turned on the open sign. Since the hours were before opening I thought it was a system glitch and left. Hopefully their online system gets a little better otherwise they may want to confirm by phone any appointments made through the system. I was also pleased the availability. They were usually able to get me in for a blow out on the weekends. read more

The stylist was super fun and had great conversation (and taste in music!). The vibe of the shop is devine. Vibrant colors and chandeliers fill the shop with a welcoming, warm and girly feel. My sister had booked this place for 3 up do's, as my upcoming wedding had us in search for the perfect hair place. We figured that we would give this place a whirl and if all worked put, we would spend the money towards a wedding trial. Unfortunately, our up do's were not to par. My sister had not one, but numerous conversations with the place expressing the up do factor. When we walked in, we were super excited. We were welcomed with a bright personality and something to drink. I had shown a picture of something I figure i would want to my upcoming wedding to get an idea of how it would look, as did my sisters The pictures capture the request and the output. As you can see, these are shockingly different. I honestly would have been ok with it, but we were still charged for a full up do. Horrible customer service! Bought a Groupon and scheduled my appointment. Showed and and there was no one there! Mind you I showed up at 445pm and their regular hours were 9 to 7pm. When I reached out about the situation they stated that i was late to my appointment! Which was not true and that the hairstylist had reached out to me, also not true.! My daughter had an appointment for an updo (prom) at 12 and we weren't seen until 12:55pm because of "someone had to be squeezed in" everything was ok until one of the stylists (angelic)was complaining that one of her coworkers over booked appointments and blah blah blah... Bri however stayed very professional and she did a good job with my daughters hair. My daughter also had her hair dyed 2 weeks prior and the stylist was polite but she did a poor job, I ended up taking her elsewhere to fix her hair. Not sorry to say that We will NOT be returning! Went for a blowout. Showed a picture and she said she could do it. Got my hair washed and was covered in water. At one point it was spraying over me from the sink. She got a round brush stuck in my hair 3 times. Dried my hair and sort of used a curling iron. I hope this was a one off experience. It was pretty disappointing. My hair looked so terrible I had to redo it. My ends are fried from the excessive poor use of the curling iron. read more

Nope Nope Nope. Sorry... but nope. We were part of a bridal party on 8/30 and booked 3 appointments starting at 8:30 with 2 of the stylists to get our hair done. When we got there, one stylist was waiting outside and said she didn't have a key and the other girl forgot it, so she went back home to grab hers. Fine... but this just began the delays we had. We all had pictures of what we wanted, and honestly none of them turned out the way they should have. One of the two girls we had flat out told us that she always does makeup and maybe sometimes blowouts. It was apparent since she literally burned my scalp the entire time and her "blowout" was a frizzy mess for the most part. I actually liked the updo the third girl had done and I think she liked it, too. But, I had to go back and literally fix my own hair back at the hotel as did the second girl. It took my girl the time it took the other one to do one and a half updos to do my hair - I had a pic of a girl with loose and tight curls with her hair down - I think the stylist's mistake was saying that she could do it with the blowdryer and a brush. Didn't look anything like I wanted it so I asked her to actually use a curling iron after it was "round brushed" Even after we were done (we were already running behind schedule since they were running late) we were there even longer b/c they couldn't get their computer to work. We even agreed that we were fine with emailed receipts, but they had issues with all that as well. It's a good thing we brought our makeup, b/c we ended up having to do our wedding makeup standing in their waiting area while they figured something out. I'm pretty sure the review below at the end of august by Andrea F was one of the girls after us, b/c while we were in there, two girls came and had to sit and wait since they were taking forever for us and her blow-dry experience seemed VERY similar to mine. The owner called 5 minutes before the appointment saying the stylist had an "emergency" and there was no one else that could take her. Sorry, but why couldn't the owner/manager come in and cover for her employee? We came in from out of state and would have like a better heads up than this. Terrible customer service. Love the touch of city glam in Lombard. I went with some friends to their grand open. Good times, great hair and a change of pace from my usual hood. Drytini offers guests blowout styles to fit their mood: a little Monday "Tick-Tock, Watching the Clock" to "I Wanna Rock" or a date night, "I'm Not Sure What Just Happened, But That Was HOT!" - that one has my vote. From what the staff said, they've done many updos but they specialize in blow-out styles - no cuts, color or mani-pedis. We had our hair done by Carrie, Megan and Carla. They were so friendly and took time to listen to what what we were looking for in a hairstyle. I was impressed with what they were able to do with short hair, very long thick locks and curls til dawn. The products were light, so my style lasted a 2 days. One of my friend's blow-out style even lasted for 4 days! The salon itself is spacious, and not as crowded as some of the blowout salons that I've visited in LP. You still get some bubbly as you have your hair done - but there's no assembly line feel here! That night we had delicious light Italian bites and there are a couple restaurants across the street. Drytini's site says their parent company is Appease Inc. - so I know and trust them from mobile spa services. The salon is downtown Lombard, right across from the Metra stop. Social media mavens: they mentioned they do discounts for posting your before and after pics. Come for fabulous hair and leave feeling pretty and relaxed. read more

Went in for a blowout in the morning prior to a family photo shoot. I asked for for my hair just to be simply blow dried with a round brush for volume and asked that the stylist use minimal products. I even showed her a picture of what I was looking for. She agreed she could do this. Got my hair washed and my back soaked. She then proceeded to add multiple products before starting to dry my hair. At one point I asked her to stop adding products and she told me "it was fine". She used the round brush like I had asked but used it to dry my hair straight and mat down any possible volume. When I asked her to use the brush to curl my ends/Creat volume she told me she would use a curling iron at the end to do that. Despite me asking yet again for just the round brush and no iron- she continues continued. At the end I wanted out with flat hair, matted with product and burnt ends from the iron. I had to go home and wash my hair and start all over. Such a waste of money, I would not recommend. The girl didn't even introduce herself so I can't even make the complaint against just one stylist. read more

I really wanted to support this small local business but they gave me every reason not to like it. I bought a Groupon for a haircut, blowout and style, and I left several voicemails asking for a call back because I had a couple questions before I booked my appointment. After not hearing back for over a week I risked it and booked my appointment online. I showed up on time and was told it would be "just a couple more minutes." 35 minutes later the client in the chair left and the stylist (unfortunately I can't remember her name ) began doing something on her computer. I had to remind her I was there and ask to get started. She rushed my hair wash and didn't even rinse all the shampoo out, and she didn't blow out my hair at all how I asked her to. It looked like a limp helmet stuck to my head. I told her I was not wasting my Groupon on the terrible experience and wanted to speak to the owner, Carrie. I was willing to give it one more shot with someone else, and if that went well I would buy a membership. I asked the stylist to have Carrie call me and she never did. I left four voicemails in two weeks and never heard back. Finally I sent a message on FB and Carrie replied, saying she never got my messages and gave me her cell phone number. I called that and left a message and she never called me back. I replied to her one more time on FB and still haven't received a phone call. Don't waste your money, there are plenty of other great salons around this area to get a blowout. read more

This place gets a one star because of their poor customer service and for not having the techniques of a hair stylist. I had went here a couple weeks back to get a balayage. I had shown the lady exact pictures of what I want and was still given skunk stripes. My hair was super streaky and not blended well at all. I left with orange stripes all through my hair. While the woman who did my hair was super nice, I just wish she had blended and placed the dye properly. I also had my prom hair appointment booked with them this past weekend. My appointment was booked at 12 and I was not seen till 12:55. Brianna did my hair and she was super sweet and nice although she had given me an updo that was nothing to what I explained and showed to her... I go to cash out and I ask if there is any sort of discount I get for not being seated at my scheduled time (making me late for my next appt). Angelique then continued to tell me "you being seen later is not my fault". I explained to her that seating a client an hour later is not the clients fault either.. Angelique continued to argue and say that she cant give me a discount. Brianna came back to the desk and told Angelique that their manager said not to charge me. Angelique has poor customer service and attitude. The whole 2 hours I was there she was falling asleep doing another clients hair, having to catch her self a couple of times. She was also late for her next clients hair appt. Then she left a client with a "blowout" unhappy explaining that she does not have the technique for a big blowout. I had an appointment at 11am on 7/28 for a updo( which i made over a week ago). At around 10:55am i got a phone call saying that the person who was going to do my hair had a family emergency and wasn't going to be available to do my hair. She said she tried to find someone else but had no luck. I had already arrived at drytini by the time i was called. Im coming from a different state for a wedding, so timing is everything. Whoever is the owner/manager should have called me way earlier or came in their self to do my hair also whoever owns the place should take a look at who they hired because obviously you can't count on your stylist's to come in or help out when needed. The first time I went in my blowout was meh at best- straight but frizzy. The stylist got the curl out but left my hair frizzy. I decided to try them again since I had the membership. The second time I went I had a different girl. This second girl ROCKS! I left feeling BEAUTIFUL! I decided to request her for all future blowouts. Today I went in with a booked appointment just for them to tell me they overbooked- and they put me with the girl who doesn't know how to blowout curly hair again. Ugh. Not the best blowout but not the worst. The place is super cute and the girl who did my hair was very friendly. The total time between washing my hair and blowing it out was 20 minutes...... very, very rushed. She never even introduced herself to me. I asked for volume and smooth with a little flip at the bottom. What I received was straight and flat. Blowouts usually last at least 2-3 days and this one was about 24 hours. $35 isn't awful to charge but I think I'll stick with the normal salon I use for color and cuts. read more

Jenn is exceptional! First, she came in extra early on a Friday to accommodate me with only one day notice, when another stylist (from a different place) canceled on me at the last minute. My step-daughter's wedding was that same afternoon, so needless to say I was super grateful for being treated like a VIP, especially as I was a brand new customer. Jenn gave me the best blowout EVER (Brazilian blowout). My normally curly, dry & frizzy hair never looked or felt better. I am using the salon's bridal services (Appease to You) for my upcoming wedding. When I scheduled with them in March, I didn't have a regular hairstylist. I was also buying extensions and wanted to make sure that my hair color matched them, so I booked my appointment for a balayage and cut well in advance. Between March and now I have found a regular stylist in the city, but because she just had a baby and was on leave, she wouldn't be able to do my hair/extensions so I kept my appointment at Drytini. I have to say that I'm now completely torn as to whether I'll get my hair balayaged by my regular stylist in the city or make the trek to Lombard for it, because it looks THAT GOOD! Tiffany did a phenomenal job and and got my hair to match the extensions perfectly! The price was also way under what I would have paid for a balayage in the city. The salon atmosphere itself was also super cute and Tiffany was very accommodating to make sure I was comfortable! Great place! read more

The place is a disaster. DIrty, stuff everywhere. The staff couldn't crack a smile if their life depended on it and they were dressed like they could care less. The shampoo and conditioner were not rinsed out thoroughly. The blow dry was OK, but the back of my hair underneath was still wet. I purchased on groupon and my stylist is amazing ... It's a good price for the great service however now there are other blowout places offering one blowout a month for $126 for the year ... Drytini should consider doing the same thing I would buy for me and a friend. Again they do amazing but for that other place with that deal close to their location does just as good. read more

DryTini committed FRAUD. Let me explain. When I purchased the Groupon, the ad said "$22 for a One Year Membership". That's it. I didn't read the fine print right away. When I went to get my hair done (the blow dry was actually fine) I was told that the $22 was just for registration and that they needed my credit card so they could charge me $20 a month for a year, a blow dry would cost $20 and I was required to be there once a month. I, of course, believed them when they said this was all mentioned in the fine print and naively handed over my credit card. I'd be fine with everything but the monthly charge. It would cost me $50 a month and for that price I could go to my own hair stylist 5 minutes away. Later on I read the fine print. There's no mention AT ALL about the $20 MONTHLY CHARGE. I've been in numerous contacts with Groupon. I'm shocked that no one else has complained about this! I will not give up until DryTini cancels my membership and stops charging me for at this point absolutely nothing. read more

Their service and atmosphere was great! Drinking champagne while getting our hair done was a plus. I was matron-of-honor for my sister's wedding and I went to drytini for an updo. Since I live out of town, I wasn't able to try it out ahead of time, but I was hoping to have a nice hairdo for the wedding because I had a six week old baby and I was feeling a little self conscious about looking pretty with my baby weight. We had a busy schedule the morning of the wedding, and I arrived a few minutes before my appointment time only to find another person just being seated in the chair to have her hair done. I was kept waiting for 45 minutes. When I finally got in the chair, I showed the girl a picture of a simple chignon updo. She said she could do it easily. I ended up with a horrible updo that looked nothing like the picture. It didn't even look the same on both sides. There was a big ratted up poof on one side that wasn't on the other side. It was horribly ugly and there was no time to change it since I had been waiting so long already. By the time I got back home, I was already falling down. I would have just pulled it all out, but there was too much hairspray and My hair was all crunchy. I had to try to stick it back in place and go through the wedding and all the pictures looking like a mess. I told my sister that I had paid $55 for my hair. She said "Wow. You got gypped." She was right. It was a big disappointment on a day that was very important to me. read more
