In response to the owner, the 200+ reviews on Groupon speak for themselves, the majority of the positive reviews are about Hannah, who is unfortunately gone (and ended up abruptly quitting her job though she had many clients, shows what kind of person you are to work with), and the negative reviews happen to be about the owner. So it seems I'm not the only one who has seen this bad side of the owner. I also came across bad reviews on Yelp. And the fact that your salon needs to have Groupons and Yelp coupons running for over 3 years tells me the business is suffering (the reviews on Groupon go back as far as 2013). Our "weapon" was an iPhone, and my husband recorded her abusive words while she was doing her screaming and flailing her hands around. Very classless business owner. I can see why her employees can't stay there very long. Interesting thing was when I told the owner that I was going to write a Yelp review and said she didn't care, that she wasn't afraid of Yelp reviews. Look at her now, for someone who didn't care about the bad review she knew was coming, she is sure spending a lot of her time defending herself, which typically shows a guilty person. The good news is Glam rock salon is excellent, and I will go back to see her for color. She is in Wheaton, and if anyone wants excellent color with Pravana colors from a young and happy person, she is one good option to try (see my 5 star review on her). Another great small salon for people to try is Salon Blu in Western Springs, good cuts and color as well, she is an older woman, and very jovial and sweet. Mario Tricoci in Oakbrook is nice as well, but a bigger salon. I wanted to see what else was out there, but I will stick to what I know to be good. Lesson learned: Look at not only Yelp reviews, but Groupon reviews as well. If the reviews go back years, then there is a reason for that. I have been to this salon for the 1st time and I'm impressed! The salon is great, in a great location in downtown Wheaton, inside the decor is very modern and classy, not cheap like other places. I decided to get a last minute spray tan and they were able to take me in right away. (plus they had a special going on $15! cant beat that!!) All the ladies that I dealt with in the salon were very nice and friendly. The regular prices in the salon for hair services are not bad at all. I will be coming back here again very soon, especially if they keep doing the $15 spray tans!! read more

I had a facial there recently that was the best I've ever had..My skin was feeling dry in this winter cold..I chose the total package facial for 99$,,I couldn't believe how much you get for the money.. In one 90 minute treatment I got a medical grade microdermabrasion , masks, eyebrow and lip wax, neck massage..It was awesome!! I purchased a groupon for $30- it was for the signature facial ($60 value). I specifically told the aesthetician that i was there for extractions and that my skin type is normal/dry and dehydrated. The aesthetician zipped through the facial- she did 2 extractions- 2! Which me annoyed me because there were still visible whitehead afterwards (and she didnt attempt to remove them!) There was no massage, but rather she used a vibrator device on my face- it felt terrible; It was way too harsh for a relaxed, facial setting. The vibration was so strong it made my eyelids and nose itch. The products that she used didnt feel appropriate for my skin- she used a gel cleanser. It was tropical smelling, but it had an "off" note at the end- it just smelled funny. And she finished off with a serum. No moisturizer, no skin oil- i told her i had dry, dehydrated skin- she obviously wasnt paying attention. The place itself is cute, the service was bad. Next time I'll go to massage envy across town and get a real facial. read more

I called the salon on Thursday morning, right when they opened, to see if they had a Saturday appointment available. I'm in town for a graduation and there's a Groupon available for their salon so wanted to see if it made sense to buy the Groupon or not, based on their availability. The receptionist was courteous and explained to me that though the Groupon wasn't clear about this, the girl who handles the Groupon cuts is their junior stylist (who has 7 years' experience). She told me to give her my name and number and that she'd call me back within 10 minutes. She said that she'd see if there was any availability with the stylist for Saturday. I had already tentatively made an appointment with another great salon that I've tried and loved, but price is always a factor,and so I wanted to see if this place would work for a basic cut and style. But of course, I wanted to be fair by them and cancel my appointment ASAP if I wasn't going to use them. When I hadn't heard back after 20-25 minutes, I called back and it was clear that the receptionist had not asked the stylist and was completely unprepared with the information. At least, in her defense, she didn't pretend like she'd been about to call me!! She apologized and asked me to hold on. She kept clearing her throat and fumbling with the phone. Then she suddenly said, "You know what...... we are booked solid on Saturday. There's nothing available." She said they had Fri appointments available, but with a graduation on Sunday, this would have made no sense for me. Oh, also, though their site says "Sunday and Monday by appointment," I was told they do not do Sunday appointments at this time. I understand completely, if they wouldn't have given a Groupon holder a special appointment on Sunday and was totally ready to have just paid their regular price for this. The website looks wonderful and I wish I'd had an opportunity to try them out, but their lack of care ruined any chance of that ever happening. read more

I was in search of a new salon in the western suburbs and stumbled upon the groupon. After reading other reviews I decided to try it out. I purchased the haircut and deep conditioning treatment. I called and was provided with an appointment the very same day which I was not at all expecting (most likely due to the disgusting weather we were having). Upon arrival I was greeted by the woman cutting another clients hair. She was very nice and told me where I could place my coat and get a drink. Right on time she concluded the previous appointment and formally introduced herself to me. Kelly was friendly and made me feel comfortable right away. After a quick conversation about my current styling process she discussed with me how I could (easily and quickly) style my hair without too much extra work and without causing additional damage to my hair. I was not looking for anything too drastic - just a good healthy cut and she provided just that. I left with a nice, new cut and exactly what I was looking for. read more

I am very much disapointed by this place. I bought a coupon and luckily was able t get my money back. I went in since I live so close and wanted to make appointment, but I kept getting ignored even tho I wait 30 minutes!!! The ladies I don't know names were not with anyone, just talking to each other, and when the one older lady with blond hair spoke to me she was very short with me when i just asked to make an appt for haircut with my coupon. Normally I don't care if someone is having a bad day, but this was just a little to bad for me to go there as a customer. I hope I will find a place in Wheaton with better workers. read more

Reasonable prices and great service. Hannah brought life back to my winter-dulled hair with great highlights and a perfect trim (not too much or not too little cut). Well....I should have known better once I walked in the front door. There were only 2 stylist, plus the owner and completely empty for a 10am appointment. I went in for a partial highlight and haircut. The stylist had only 4 years experience, so it made me a little nervous. WRONG MOVE.....I should have requested someone else. My hair was ruined. The highlights were on too long and she tried to fix it by which felt like scrapping my hair while rinsing it out. Then she barely cut it, a little snip here and there. I requested a long layered look...not layered at all. When all was said and done, I walked out of there with the owner trying to convince me how beautiful my hair looked. I actually looked like "Carrot Top". My thoughts were to see what I could do with it once I got home. WRONG AGAIN. I called to have it redone, but decided not to go back. They said they would "FIX" it, WITH THE SAME STYLIST! No THANK YOU. I ended up going back to my regular stylist the following day. He said my hair was fried and there was no real evidence of a haircut. Needless to say, that was a very expensive experience. Even with a Groupon.....it's not worth the savings. If you love your hair, please stay away from this salon. Oh....and the entire 3 hours that I was there, 2 men came in for haircuts. Should tell you......this is definitely not the place you want to have a color or haircut done. read more
