They were ready for me when I arrived and the girl who did my hair listened to what I wanted and worked fast. The only downside was I wanted to change my appt and could not. I would have been charged whether I showed up or not so I made the time work. The prices are a little on the steep size $35 for a style, plus tip. The person who checked me out did not mention the rewards program. I would probably used that to accumulate points toward discounts. Free street parking close by. Racist and rude. Called in to ask if they offer private appointments to accommodate hijabi customers. At first I was told that yes there's a room in the back but the minute I clarified that I'm a hijabi and if when booking I should write it in the notes I then got told that there's no private space and ended the phone call. I never knew how fantastic getting a blow out without a haircut could feel. I booked a same day appointment for two at the dry bar in Wayzata via the virtual app and it was so simple and clear (10/10 user friendly). When we arrived we were immediately greeted and our stylists took us back to the washing bowl. It was so relaxing and everyone was so kind. Initially I was a little concerned because having 3C hair is sometimes difficult for people to get a sleek root without proper training. MaryB (spelling might be off) was phenomenal! Not only did she give the quickest/cleanest blowout I've ever had but she made sure to recommend the appropriate services to ensure my blowout stayed for a week. Very disappointed. The stylist did exactly what I told him I didn't want. For $70 I expected someone who had a higher level of competency with blow drying hair. He was very sweet but clearly inexperienced. I also feel like my hair has some kind of stickiness to it. I got a better blow dry at great clips for $32. The stylus tried three times to fix but really wasn't able to. I think just lack of experience. When I went to pay the guy at the front, he asked how it was and I said I wasn't happy, he tried to contact the manager or owner and said he got no response. Then he said he knew she was around because she was just texting with someone else. That's even more concerning but now I see why they have low reviews. read more

Really bad blowout. During wash, felt my roots weren't washed properly. Now I feel a bit itchy in my scalps. My hair was still a bit wet when it was considered done and eventually frizz came out. Front desk lady asked if I wanted a water, I said yes but never provided one. read more

Horrible experience! Would not recommend! First time at the Wayzata location. Not my first blowout. Probably the worst ever! I show up on-time only to find I had to wait 15 minutes. Things happen but whatever. My person was running late so I had someone else. They took an hour or so on my longer, curly hair. They do not deserve my business or anyone else's. The blowout that lasted 3 hours. The stylist asked me "do you want any product" I responded yes of course I need this to last! As any woman would wish on her birthday for her hair to be flawless this is disappointing to say the least. It looked ok when I first left for my lunch, but a few hrs later it was flat and I had to go home to re curl my hair as it was straight and there were pieces that didn't get curled and looked a mess. Being in the beauty industry myself I communicate clearly and showed pictures of my hair from prior blowouts I've received and made sure to say lots of volume. Wow this hair salon is top notch! Absolutely stunning from every corner right down to the yellow hairdryer chandelier! Jill, co-owner of Drybar, was the absolute sweetest and so incredibly welcoming. Her staff was equally kind and generous not only with their skills, advice, and time. I decided to go with the braid bar as it's something I had never heard of before. Boy did it not disappoint!! Josh did such a beautiful job following the photo I had brought (Pinterest inspired of course) and he kept playing with my hair until he got the inside-out braid juuuust right. Also want to preface that I have A LOT of sleek hair so for it to stay in place was no small feat! Nonetheless, it took all of ten minutes, was beautiful, and he really worked his magic on everyone. I originally found Drybar salons when I was on a trip to CA earlier this summer. I'm thrilled that there is a Drybar here in MN! Booking a dry style appointment for my birthday was super easy - but they do require a credit card on file to charge just in case you no show. A downside is that their phone number connects you to Drybar's call center so you don't get to actually talk to someone at the MN location. Parking was no problem for me at the time of my appointment and there are several options such as ramp and street parking. I came during a pretty slow time so it was another person and myself getting serviced at the salon so that was really nice! Upon check-in, I was offered alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks! I was kinda bummed not getting to sit on the main bar with the TV's but was seated at an island counter off to the side by all the products. The seating was very awkward on a bar stool versus the other seats in the main salon. The result of my hair was very nice but I've had better. I showed my stylist who was super friendly and accommodating how I had my hair styled at their Burlingame location (if she could try and replicate that) and what I wanted it to look like from the look book too. What would have made my hair better was if she would have prepped the hair more beforehand because my curls turned out very frizzy. I felt my stylist kind of rushed a little bit through the service even though she said that their next appointment for the day was not for another four hours. I think my hair would have turned out better if she took her time. A minor hiccup that happened during my visit with Drybar Wayzata was they overcharged / added more of a tip on top of the tip I gave my stylist. I confirmed the final price/total TWICE including tip w/ the receptionist before she charged the card on file. I did not catch this until I was emailed my receipt - so I was not too pleased about that. Drybar was responsive and able to fix the charge to the correct amount when I reached out to them. Overall, my experience was very nice. I would totally visit again -hopefully the stylist I get will take their time and also I won't get overcharged again. Jane did an absolutely and incredible job with my textured thick and curly hair. I am used to blowouts taking 2x as long (understandably) but she was an expert and had my blowout done so fast. Not a hair out of place. I highly recommend her and will be making sure I have appointments with her every time I go! The best experience I've had in a salon. I trust her with my hair and at this point the blowout was so good is trust her with my life. Well I was definitely not expecting that. They seated me late,then wash was super short and scalding hot. Not relaxing at all. I'm surprised my hair even got clean? It was barely a few seconds rinse and I don't think she conditioned. It didn't get much better. The dryer was so hot, really hurt my head, very rough with the brush. Just not a nice experience. My hair still lacked good body and the curl only lasted about two hours. Sad . read more

I am a founding VIP member and a double barfly with DryBar. I booked an appointment 10 days ahead of time. I am a black woman with curly hair so my appointment takes 90 minutes. I specifically go to DryBar so that they can wash, dry, and style my hair. However, a day before my appointment I was told not to come in because they didn't have time for my appointment. Or I could come in with clean dry hair for them to style. I am only able to book appointments that provide enough time for my appointment to be completed (90 minutes) but it appears that they over booked. They had TEN days to figure it out but didn't until the last minute. As a result, I was the one that had to cancel my appointment. The VIP member/double barfly that pays a shit ton of money each month had to be canceled. I can guarantee they didn't even ask the client after me to reschedule or anything. Absolutely ridiculous & unacceptable. I will not be returning to this location ever again. I'll be using my membership at Edina & not spending time or money at Wayzata. God forbid anyone makes time for the ethnic girl's hair. I greatly miss the Coeur d' Alene DryBar & their amazing customer service! read more

Loved my experience at Drybar-Wayzata. The customer service was friendly and the salon was clean. My blowout was nice. The stylist listened to me and he was very sweet and personable. My blowout took a little bit longer due to an add on service, so another stylist jumped in to help finish dry me and stay on time. Great teamwork! I contacted Drybar about hair and makeup for my wedding in the summer of 2022, one year until my wedding. I met with the owner, Jill S., who informed me they were available my wedding date for hair and she would be available personally for makeup. She told me to contact them in the new year to get a contract. Come January 2023, I promptly contacted her about the hair and makeup, seeking a contract to sign to get the date locked down. No response. I contacted again a few weeks later and finally, We had a phone call and all was well and was promised to be sent over later that day or the next morning. Nothing was ever sent. I spoke to my wedding party to get an estimate of who wanted hair and makeup and sent that over, hoping it would illicit a response. Nothing. Follow up email sent. Nothing. Then a few weeks later, I get a phone call from Jill stating she now has a family wedding that day and is unavailable for makeup but hair is still on. We spoke that day about my stress and disappointment with being ghosted and now a cancelation 4 months before my wedding. She ensured me that she had someone who could take over the makeup and that I would be contacted by her. She also ensured me that she had other options, too. She lectured me how she "runs a business" and "would never leave a client on their own" and how I'm a "priority" yet, I never received anything. It took days to get just one of the individuals name and contact. Finally, a hair contract was sent over but I asked to adjust the time to allow for more time with hair and again, nothing responded for days. After multiple emails and phone calls to the makeup artist recommended, I finally got a call back. The makeup artist is pregnant and due in July. She asked me if I would be okay with the possibility something could happen and not be able to show up my wedding day. What??? Obviously, that isn't okay with me. I reached out again to Jill to fix the time on the contract and to express my disappointment with recommending me someone who won't be able to be there, due to pregnancy. I asked for the other peoples contact information. Nothing. Once I sent yet another message another day to her again stressing to check her email and begging for a response, she ask me if I reached out to her artist (which I clearly laid out in my texts and email that she is not available due to pregnancy) and then said she will "re-reach out" to the "other artists" again supplying no information. She also asked me for the third or fourth time when my hair needed to be done by, which was stated multiple times both via text, phone calls, and emails. I still didn't have a hair contract for Dry on the Fly. Luckily, I was able to find another hair and makeup artist much more reliable and responsive. I would never trust the Dry Bar with your big day, or any day really. The owner is disorganized, has poor communication, and does not treat clients as a priority. I will never have my hair done here again. I needed to cancel an appointment due to illness that I came down with the morning of my appointment. I made the appointment to get my hair done for a holiday party we were supposed to attend but was sick so couldn't go to that either. They charged me a $20 cancellation fee even though the person I spoke with said they wouldn't this one time. This is extremely poor customer relationship management to say the least. Yesterday, for no reason, and by no request from me, they changed a Homecoming hair appointment to 4 hours later - guess what, that does not work. Customer service was a joke. 9am on Sept. 21: Well, I suggest you never make an appointment here. You can not deal with anyone at the store directly because they do not have phones (according to their central location customer service). And, all I was told by the service rep was they don't know what happened, they could not give me back my original time, and that they would pass along the issue to another service group that does not work weekends (this is Saturday). read more

Could not have had a BETTER experience! I travel frequently for work and have been to A LOT of Drybar's around the country and this is one of the best. First of all, it couldn't have been in a cuter area -- Wayzata is adorable (I'm kind of kicking myself that I've been to Minneapolis three times and this is the first time I've visited this area). Come for the blowout and stay for the shopping and food in this charming town. Anyway, Pauline was my stylist and she was nothing short of amazing. I usually try to get a blowout before I take off on a trip -- if it's just a couple days then it alleviates all of the hair tools and products I have to pack. I was jammed to the last minute on this trip so I couldn't go to my normal Drybar and was fortunate to find that Minneapolis recently opened one. My blowout lasted THREE WHOLE DAYS. I'm not kidding....I put it up in a clip every night, took it down every morning for my meetings and otherwise DID NOT HAVE TO TOUCH IT AT ALL....no curling iron, just a little bit of additional hair spray and done! And I actually have really difficult hair -- very fine and doesn't hold curl at all. I'm bummed that Pauline can't do my hair all the time, but she's found a new favorite customer the next time I'm in the area. I highly recommend you go....everyone is so nice and the shop itself is adorable...and then go grab a drink at the super cute little boutique hotel next door. The place is beautiful and the people are friendly which is a perk, but I was very disappointed with my blowout. I asked for the "Mai-Tai" but ended up with more of a big curl, lots of volume kind of look which did not complement my haircut. The best part of getting a blowout is not having to worry about styling my hair for the next few days but my hair is completely flat which NEVER happens when I get my hair blown out other places and/or at my salon...my hair holds a curl very well but it is completely and entirely blah less than 24 hours after. I am very disappointed and will stick to Blast Blow Dry in Minneapolis or my local salon. read more
