The girl who did my hair felt very inexperienced, and I left feeling like I just wasted $50. I wish there was a way I could give my money back for the service. My hair fell completely out of style, not even two hours after the service. There were creases in my hair, even from the clips right afterwards, and she seemed to rush to get the next person in the chair. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had booked a dry style, but because my hair was (their words) "only 90% dry", they flat-out refused to do it unless I paid for a full blowout. No flexibility, no courtesy -- just a hard no and a pretty dismissive tone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I agreed to the blowout just to avoid rescheduling, but in hindsight, I should've walked out right then. The stylist gave me curls that started aggressively from the roots, adding unnecessary volume and zero polish. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I asked why the curls were starting so high, she said -- without missing a beat -- "That's how a Mai Tai curl is supposed to look."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Unless I missed the memo that Drybar is now offering "feral forest chic," I'm pretty sure that's not what a Mai Tai is meant to be. I've been a Drybar customer for 9 years and have visited locations in California, Texas, New York, and more. I have never been treated as unprofessionally as I was at the Edina location. I travel for work and have 2c/3a curly hair which is very time consuming to style on my own. To save time and energy, I use my barfly membership to get blowouts when I travel -- the average Drybar stylist spends 35-45 minutes on my hair. My Uber was late from my hotel this morning so I showed up for my 7am appointment at 7:07 (late, but within Drybar's 10 minute window). [[HIGHLIGHT]]The stylist waited several minutes before coming out, sat me in the chair, and started pulling on my hair before declaring that I had thrown off her whole schedule[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] (there were two stylists and no other clients in the salon so they easily could have done my hair) because I was 10 minutes late (I was not) and that she didn't have time to give me a "real blow out." [[HIGHLIGHT]]She then refused to do my hair and continued berating me (raising her voice at me, blaming me for the situation, pulling at my hair) until I left the salon.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I came back after a few minutes to ask for a refund and was denied one. The quality of their blowouts is 1 out of 5 stars. My blowout is frizzy and all curls came out bc the stylist kept ovebrushing my hair. None of the stylists are licensed. And they have the nerve to raise prices. Additionally, when staff are not experts and take longer they want to charge the client an extra $30 aka 50% of the blowout if it takes more than 45 minutes so 1 minute over and it costs you $30 lol. Their prices have gone way up. If your stylist is slow or you have longer hair they will charge you $89 for a blowout. With a tip that is $107....for a blowout. Not worth the money. Any other salon a blowout is half the price. read more

Service 8/20/23 @10am dry style and side braid. The girls that helped me were very kind and professional. She listen to my hair dilemma and left very happy about it. I love the positive attitude of the Edina team! They display the Dyrbar "yellow, sunny" attitude and really try to create a great experience. Alejandro has been my go to and always does a great job, but when he is not available the other team members step up and really work to make sure I'm taken care of and leave happy. I've been a customer for about 2 years and have seen the team continue to strive as they have dealt with turnover and management challenges, which has been hard, and I think has contributed to some low reviews, but I would not rule them out and give them a try.
