My stylist was Neil Berkeley and I will definitely be back for follow up hair cuts and treatments. I had a Brazilian Blowout done and a cut. My hair looks and feels great. I have gone naturally grey and so I'm a bit cautious as to who cares for my locks. I can safely say I have met a stylist and a salon that I feel comfortable with. Recommended!

She did this to focus on her hair extension business, and referred me to Emily Radford. I am currently brunette, with the request to make my way to blonde, I asked for highlights and provided a few inspirational pictures. What I received was very minimal, I could not see a change in my hair aside from 2 chunky highlights at the front of my hair. I understand it takes time to break up brown hair, but i received was unexpected. I was charged $348. Emily is young, new in her career, which I was happy to give her a chance. Moreover, Leah, the owner of the salon has never charged me over $220, and would exceed my expectations. I am extremely sad with the results from this time around, or lack of results rather. I asked for the situation to be made, right, and resolved but Emily said since too much time passed she will not fix or refund. Yes, it has been more than 7 days, but my hair is the same as it was when I walked out of the salon on 10/19, its still brunette, with no highlights except in the front. It took me until today, 12/3 to find the courage to say something about the situation. Lavish salon will charge with you steep unreasonable, unjustifiable prices, without any explanation or preparation of price point. I was blind sided by the price of $348. I cannot afford this price point for my hair, and I am still in need of getting my hair corrected, and will need to pay another salon to make this right. I feel taken advantage of. Save yourself the $ and time, don't go to this salon. Service was on 10/19/23 - after photos from a month later 11/19/23 & today 12/3/23.

The atmosphere of the salon was sort of bustling, many bodies moving about, a lot of chatter and noise. This isn't unexpected nor was it a bad thing but could be good to note if noise levels are hard for some people. The aesthetic of the salon was airy but chic. I appreciated the decor and the products used were interesting. I am extremely low maintenance with my hair and normally maybe get it cut once or twice a year. In the past, other stylists at nicer salons have looked down on me for that and made comments that made me feel like I wasn't doing enough or that I was less than. Hour Rose Salon and Duffy made me feel very normal, welcomed, and accepted for exactly who I am. I can't say how much I appreciated that, especially in an environment where it would be so easy to make people like me feel like we're not doing enough. I booked online and chose Long Haircut. I like that the services are listed by length and give clear descriptions as to what you'll receive. It was also really easy to get in, I booked an appointment for less than 24 hours away. Before you choose date and time, you can select a stylist. All the options for stylists are given with a quick bio and typically also show their Instagram name so you can check out their work. If you don't care about who you get, you can also pick "any stylist" and just choose your date and time. I ended up selecting Duffy because I liked the photos on her insta and she mentioned specializing in curly hair (I think!). There's a great variety of stylists at the salon and I'm sure you'd be in good hands with any of them. Parking was extremely easy and free, and I was welcomed like I'd been there before. So sweet! The salon is clean and smells really nice. I was offered a drink of my choice (mint tea!) and showed to my chair to start my pre-haircut consultation. My consultation was quick (not too quick) but thorough. I showed some pictures of myself and pointed out what I liked and didn't like about certain haircuts I'd had in the past. Duffy asked clarifying questions and was extremely careful and listened to me. As the haircut went on, Duffy checked in on me to make sure I was liking what was happening, like length and certain techniques. She noted some qualities about my hair that no other professionals I've seen before have called out, which was so interesting! My hair has a very different texture beneath and on the top layer, and nobody's really pointed that out before. It was really nice talking to someone who knows curly hair. Duffy walked me through some care for my hair and shared some tips on how to book if I'd like to come in for trims and maintenance. I didn't feel like I was being sold to or like I was a number - it was a lovely experience overall. I am so happy with my hair and can't wait to come back.

I was introduced to Darrin James Salon when Nina & Patti transitioned there as a result of their previous location closing. After trusting Nina with my hair since I was 15, I will follow Nina to the ends of the Earth. I met Darrin the first time I walked in. He welcomed me, not because I was "Nina's Client, 4:30pm", but because that's the type of person he is. Since that first meeting, he genuinely remembers me, asks me questions and cares about my responses. I've never had him cut my hair, but I remember one visit while I was processing, I saw him interact with a kid who was so scared to be there. He was so patient with this little child; I couldn't hear what he was saying but before I was done processing, there was a little kid with a new haircut and a giant GRIN. I can't find enough good things to say about Nina. I mentioned that she's been doing my hair since I was 15. Never once have I had any doubt about her ability to make me look better than I thought was possible, even when I insisted on that perm... she made it look amazing. She is the one person I trust enough with my hair that when she asks me "what are we doing today" I can honestly say "whatever you want". I get my manicures done with Patti. I've been through the ringer with bad nail technicians, you wouldn't believe the horror stories I could share. I continue to return to her because her touch is gentle, she is kind and caring and it really doesn't hurt that her prices are fair. She is another one of the folks who I can trust to care for me the same way she would care for herself or her family. I haven't interacted with too many of the other stylists there besides a friendly hello when I arrive. Overall this place exceeds my expectations on the whole, and the experiences I have with the people who provide me service would chart off the scale. read more

My entry is a little dated but I didn't realize how great I had it at Darrin James Salon & Spa until I relocated and have had a hard time finding the same results. I had been going to Erin Kelly for about a year and a half and she introduced me to balayage and I LOVED it. It worked so well with my face shape and looked great every time. She is very friendly and easy to talk to and would remember things we talked about on my previous visits. When I graduated college, a friend of mine and I went to Erin Kelly to get our hair done for the event and it was a fun and relaxing day.I would highly recommend her for any cut/color/styling needs. As for the salon, it has a chic/modern interior. There is free wifi, drinks (which are always offered when entering the salon) and up-to-date magazines to read. The salon is located in a small strip mall and I have never had a problem with parking. They offer a points program, earning points for every visit that can be used to "purchase" products. The price for their services is moderate but for how happy I would leave, it was worth it every time. I have an appoint tomorrow at my third salon since relocating and am hoping it comes close to how happy I was with the results from Darrin James Salon & Spa! read more

I go to Rochelle for haircuts, color and style and every time I am amazed at how well my curls fall. I have naturally curly hair and it is hard to find someone who is able to cut curly hair correctly and willing to listen when you want to try something different. She is so good about picking colors that work well with the curls and with my skin tone. Whenever there is a new trend that she thinks will work with my hair and personality she always suggests it. There are some real nice products at the salon like Davines and Moroccan Oil that I have now become a religious user of the products based on her suggestion. The atmosphere in the salon is very welcoming, it is slowly becoming like a second home to me. The staff is very warm and friendly. I would highly recommend anyone at the salon. read more

Won't go anywhere else! Beginning with the receptionist Tara, you are always greeted warmly and the shop is very cute and always clean. My stylist is exceptional! Rochelle is awesome. She has always listened to what I want and provides excellent color and cut services. I was never happy with my hair until Rochelle. Since moving to the Twin Cities almost 10 years ago, I have struggled to find a salon that I like, that does good work and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Darrin James is the one! I see Rochelle and she is awesome. She always helps me choose color as I never really know what I want, and I always love the outcome! She does great color and cuts. I used to see someone else there, but one time he didn't show up for my appointment and Rochelle and Claire fit me into their schedules, which was greatly appreciated! I've been going to Darrin James Salon for over 5 years now. I was happy to find a salon of high quality but not high prices. Erin is my usual stylist and she has been great at interpreting the hair styles I describe and recommending cuts when I just want something new! The salon is always clean and all the staff are very friendly. It also has a very comfortable atmosphere (not stuffy). I have not used their other services, but I have bought some of my now-favorite products there. read more

Bottom line, they do a great job. If you are like me when it comes to your hair, a good haircut is important! They have stylists who listen to what YOU want and I like that. I go to Claire and I couldn't be happier. She has cut my hair for a couple of years and still asks me every time if I am satisfied with the cut. She takes her time and does a great job. My color is still very vibrant, although I do use color safe products, try not to expose my hair to more heat than necessary, etc. Just booked my next appointment for the end of October. Todd is very kind and fun to talk to and I'm excited to have him work on my hair again.

Julia also did my Wedding Hair before I got married and it turned out amazing. They offer free lattes and snacks which is always such a fun way to welcome guests. When you step in the door you're transported to a calming oasis. You'd have no idea you were in St Louis Park, MN. The salon is warm, lightly fragrant (always smells so good here), inviting, and clean. As you check in, they offer you a drink -- like a nice coffee! I always take advantage of that and think it's such a nice perk. I always feel very welcome and at home at Moda. The chairs at the stations are super comfy and plants are everywhere inside, as well as the wood interiors and white accents. It's so fresh, spacious, and clean in here, I love it! Everything is comfortable and beautiful. I followed Duffy here from a different salon because I love her personality, she provides a beautifully skilled service, and I always learn something from her when I visit. She's honest, friendly, and smart, and I'm so glad she's at this location! I have recommended her to my friends and they visit her as well. I appreciate Moda SLP for the vibes, the staff, and the location. You just can't beat it!

The front desk staff is so welcoming and friendly and always remember our names! I've had a few different stylists but now have settled on a favorite and will continue to go to her until the end of days! The ambiance is eclectic and off the wall, the deco is outrageous and and amazing collection from Jon English himself. There is always another room to explore and something you didn't see the last time you were there. Sometimes the music is a little loud but it's easy to overlook for a busy salon. The stylists are up to date with current trends and techniques and good about steering you in the right direction. Great place for someone looking for something a little edgy or to keep it classic.

Fell in love with the salon, Jon Englishs' wife even gave us a tour of the place. Beautiful and artistic decor! The salon closed shortly after we came in but they let us stay to ogle on the decor (it was very nice of them). We even met the owners dog (beautiful and very friendly!!!). As we walked and chatted I asked about the products and ended up purchasing 2 bottles of shampoo and the hair thickening styling mouse. I also asked the owner why her pup smells heavenly and she said she uses their shampoo on him. The product is clean from chemicals and safe to use on animals! I now share the shampoos with my two four legged pups and love the smell. One of the best purchase and have been ordering to ship to LA ever since.
