I was extremely disappointed with my blowout experience. I asked for the "old fashioned" style with loose, big, uniform waves, but what I received were very tight curls that looked nothing like what I requested. I felt like I was going to my high school prom. This blowout was especially important to me because it was for my maternity photoshoot--something I've been planning and looking forward to for a very long time. When I got home, I tried brushing the curls out to loosen them, as I was told they would fall, but they would not loosen at all. I even tried adding water, and that still didn't help. Unfortunately, the curls stayed tight and didn't give the soft, loose look I was hoping for. In the end, I had no choice but to put my hair up for the photos. I was honestly so sad and unhappy about it that I felt like crying. This was a moment I really wanted to feel my best in, and the hairstyle just didn't align with what I had envisioned or asked for. I've been to this location (River Oaks Houston) before and had a wonderful blow out, so it was just this specific person. That being said, the stylist herself was very nice, kind, professional, and I don't have any issues with her personally. She did tell me the curls would fall once I brushed them out at home, but sadly, that never happened. I just wish the style matched what I requested, but it was so far off. If I had the time I would have just washed my hair and curled myself when I got home but I had to go straight to my photo shoot. I even thought about rescheduling the shoot to another weekend but I would have lost the deposit. I am so disappointed given how meaningful this occasion was for me. read more

I was running roughly 25 minutes late to my appointment due to an accident on the road plus traffic. It's Houston. And the staff member initially told me that because my appointment slot is 30 minutes and I was running so late, that they wouldn't be able to squeeze me in since I missed my window. But TBH, I begged. It was the day of my holiday party and no one else would be available. Nonetheless, they took me in. I went for my birthday to get a blowout I wanted volume and curled ends. The way my hair was done was great but the experience was terrible. I hate to be the one to write a bad review but since I went I've been so insecure about my hair. For context I have thin fine hair and I get highlights once a year I sat down in the chair and her first comment she makes is that my hair is oily which didn't bother me my hair gets oily fast I know this and she adjusted my shampoo to be a double shampoo with conditioner only on the ends which I appreciated still. Then once we sat down it just kept going downhill. She starts criticizing the products I use saying my heat protectant weighs down my hair (which it's known to be great for thin fine hair so that's not true). She's then trying to detangle my hair with a round brush and just ripping at my ends. I'm just sitting there trying to enjoy myself then she proceeds to ask me in the rudest tone "so like... how often do you bleach your hair" I respond by saying only once a year and then she goes "oh... your ends are realllyyy stringy and damaged" I just sit there no knowing what to say or how to respond to that? She continues on and makes several other comments about how my hair is tangling about how my ends are damaged etc. I asked if she had recommendations to help me to try to make the conversation positive, but she tells me she has no recommendations and just continues to tear me down. Like I said I hate leaving negative reviews but I probably think about the comments she made once a day since this experience and I think it's worth other people knowing going into an appointment here. Extremely rude, and very disappointing trying to enjoy myself getting my hair done for my birthday. read more

The hairdresser broke my hair from excessive pulling while detangling and burned it during the blow-drying process, leaving it so damaged that I had to cut it off afterward. I left in tears and extremely disappointed. If you have curly hair, I strongly advise to be careful who you let style your hair, many stylists don't seem to understand how delicate it is. read more
