Really delicious, quality spot in Boulder. If you're looking for a tasty morning meal or light lunch/snack during the day, this is the place. Love the integrity of everything Chef Kelly puts forward at his eateries, and this is a perfect casual version of that. My one complaint is that the hours are garbage. Not opening until 10am on the weekends, and then being closed M-Tues doesn't make sense. The weekend's are for finding a great breakfast spot to start the day or get that amazing coffee before or after being active. And if you have a kid(s), forget about waiting until 10am. I truly feel this place is missing out on some great weekend morning business, as I have heard this gripe from other friends as well who want to support Dry Storage, but the timing doesn't work. 2.5 Stars- Four stars for the service, polite, as expected. Four stars for the yuzu cruffin (like a morning bun with yuzu inside), yummy, though the plain croissant is just that, plain. Two Stars for the atmosphere. The music is a little too loud to have a conversation and the tables are too close together to have avoid hearing everything from your neighbors, depending on the music of course. Also, seating is limited and only for two people per table. No regular chairs are provided, only bench-like seating, so no back support. Two stars for the price. Everything is expensive. Two stars for the too strong coffee (necessary to ask to leave room for cream/milk). Also, each glass or the like is maybe six ounces; small for the price. I may on special occasion grab a yuzu cruffin to go, but I would only recommend Dry Storage if the weather is suitable to sit outside or you take something to go and are not price conscious. read more

Awesome little shop. My wife and I shared the peach danish and croissant sando. Both were incredible! They're using excellent quality flour in their baked goods, and the egg roll on the sandwich was cooked perfectly. My favorite part? They're not afraid of using the right amount of that delicious gochujang aioli (which is lots of it). read more

This was the highlight of our week of meals in Boulder during First Bite. Had a great multi course meal that included some of the best pizza I've eaten in life. Deep dish, caramelized crispy cheese and fresh toppings. I'll dream about this pizza. The burrata appetizer was also a nice starter. Some nice cider's accompanied my meal too. I was reflecting on my Onigiri (oh-knee-gi-ree) lunch yesterday at Dry Storage. The chef/owner of this restaurant emphasizes and advocates for nearly forgotten heirloom grains. The onigiri (aka Rice Balls) served was an elevated version of a common street/on-the-go food found in every of the 50,000+ convenience stores throughout Japan. The left version was filled with smoked Colorado trout and dusted on the outside with an umami-rich furikake, and the right version was filled with perfectly ripe avocado and dusted with nori seaweed. There are a few reasons why this is among the best restaurants in Boulder: 1) Simple food, executed masterfully. Toast with Avocado and softboiled egg, maybe a bit of canned fish. Sound boring? When every ingredient is as excellent as it is at D.S. it may be the best breakfast you've had in recent memory. Don't sleep on the onigiri or miso. Baked goods are fantastic. Coffee is the best I've had at a non coffee shop (by far). 2) Excellent service. The workers here are so engaging, so knowledgeable, and so proficient. Customer service is a skill and there are many factors that go into it. The staff here has it down to an art. On only my second visit they remembered me (and my coffee order), and genuinely engaged me. It's a remarkable skill that makes a person feel welcomed and breaks down any intimidation that may come with visiting a nice spot. 3) I don't understand how the view of the flatiron is so great from arapahoe.... but it is? Hanging out on the patio there feels like your chilling at a nice ass hotel but like you've been there a million times so it's also home-y (homie?). Anyway, it's a great spot. Go for breakfast or lunch and bring home some pastries and canned fish. A bit of a splurge for us working class folks, but def a worthwhile one. read more

I've put off writing about Dry Storage for a long time since #1, I've not written on yelp and honestly, I'm not sure if I approve of their practices. and #2, I didn't want this place to blow up because it felt like my little secret. Well, that was dumb, and I'm blown away by the lack of reviews here. SO! Dry Storage is my favorite coffee shop in Boulder. It's covid right now, so you can't really hang out in this place, buuuuuut, when you could, it was my favorite coffee shop. I would rate this place number one and then Beleza number two. The drinks here was fantastic. The Yuzu coffee is sweet, acidic, and refreshing. My go-to that I had every weekend was a cappuccino and a trout onigiri. I would also go and get whatever brunch specials that they would have on the weekend. The music and aesthetic there is so nice and calming. There's only one plug so most people are conversing and looking at each other rather than at a laptop. They bake everything from scratch (and it's all sooo good) and are a literal dry storage for Basta. Right now you can get fresh milled flour and whole grain from them. I don't know, I just...feel like this place care about food and coffee and where things come from. I highly recommend this place. read more

Apart from being one of the best dog-watching spots in Boulder, Dry Storage has the best onigiri, which make a lovely little lunch or breakfast. They also have excellent espresso drinks, and an unexpectedly impressive selection of conservas. Their masa corn cake used to be one of my favorite gluten-free treats around, but it seems like they recently changed the recipe--it's still good, but the taste and texture are different now (more almond flour?) and I miss that wonderful little crust it used to have. Regardless, Dry Storage is a gem, and I'm so glad they've weathered the worst of COVID. read more

The atmosphere was cool, and minimalistic. Mellow instrumental music was playing outside which made it all the more inviting to take in the atmosphere and enjoy my book. A cold brew hit the spot. Here's the thing ... we are all struggling during covid times ... this place is cool and they offer some interesting things but COME ON!!! Are you f ing kidding??? They include a TWENTY !!PERCENT "service fee" when you purchase anything and ... um, when I inquired about this they said it's basically a tip! WTF? isn't gratuity something the customer decides? Like, wow that service and food was amazing, I think I'll tip 20%, but say this is an over the counter service for a coffee and a loaf of bread? So now I HAVE to pay 20% on this service?? And what if the coffee sucks the person is rude and this loaf of bread isn't great? Whoever owns this business is of their rocker. Here I am trying to support the community in these hard times and you're gonna bleed me a mandatory extra 20% on shit that's already overpriced? I own a business in Boulder and have been running it for over twenty years. NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS would I insist on a 20% tip! So yummy!! Glad I don't live in the complex otherwise I'd be in trouble. Fresh baked focaccia was perfectly chewy and wonderfully seasoned. We happen to be there on a weekend when they served BBQ and it was mouthwateringly good. I tried pulled pork and brisket sandwiches. It was a bonus that they served it on awesome house-made buns, the meat was piled on high, super flavorful and melt in your mouth tender! Dry Storage is one of the best spots to eat in Boulder. The avocado toast with egg is spectacular and so are the pastries and coffee. Their fresh bread is a must - I recommend getting there early to grab a pastry before they sell out, too! The patio has an amazing view of the Flatirons and is a great spot to eat outside on a sunny day. The service is great and the food always comes out quickly. Trying new to me places now that I can. Great little place. I kinda knew where it was and you just have to park and go walking around a little. Wonderful looking pastries and bread. I just wanted toast and coffee. Great coffee, delicious rustic toast, workers are terrific and helpful and no jam for the toast. What!? Really, they have no jam or jelly.
