Let me start with a quick back story on how I came in need of dry express. My Samsung refrigerator leaked for months under and behind causing quite a bit of water damage. I called and Terrance came the same day to come to my surprise. Terrance ran some testing for moisture and mold and walked me through the entire process. He had his team at my home the very next morning. JR and Mr. Charlie Brown came in explained what they were going to do and began the work. They explained the testing came back positive for mold and each step of the way showed me what was to be done. When they came across white mold, black mold and what they call gangrene JR called me in to see it all and what they were going to do to get rid of it. JR and Mr. Charlie were AMAZING, easy to talk to, easy to work with and not once did I feel uncomfortable to ask any questions or for further explanation on anything that was happening. JR or Terrance would check in with me daily to make sure I was still doing ok with the equipment that was being utilized and any further needs for the kitchen. JR did impeccable when it came to documenting the work with the day report and with pictures. With all things considered with insurance companies and other delays JR an Mr. Charlie were a breathe of fresh air (pun intended). I couldn't have asked for a smoother process with this company and the professionalism they all possess. JR and Mr. Charlie took their time and ensured the protection of the rest of my home by placing protective plastic over things and on the floor where they would be bringing in and out equipment. If any future customers have any questions on the quality of work they do I hope they contact me. ***UPDATED** So my claim with Samsung went to litigation and after a long grueling process a settlement was finally reached. Now everyone had been very understanding patient with the entire process. When I finally received the settlement check I called dry express first. When I first called i spoke with Keisha Wilkins, I didn't realize that my debit card was expired and it kept saying error or something. (My fault) so I said ok let's use a different card. Well my bank flagged the charges as potential fraud. I called my bank and they said that it was potential fraud and had been attempted to charge the card 7 times within a 15min span so they froze the card and I could no longer approve the charge over the phone but requested I come into a local branch. I work nights and unable to make it to the branch before they closed that day and would go on my way home the next day. While at work and it being late (after 9pm) I get a text from Keisha talking about how she sent me an email of the invoice to pay immediately. Not to mention ILLEGAL to contact a consumer seeking payment at that hour.!!! then again at 8:30 the very next morning talking about as the "accounting manager" how disappointed she was on the issue and how she would be placing a lien on my property if I didn't pay. (Let me just say giving yourself a title to sound important doesn't make you right for the job and she clearly has no skill for the position) When I got to the bank when they opened at 9am the teller informed me that she had ran my card over 20 times and had to issue a new card. I would have said this is the best company I worked with during the process of my kitchen nightmare but due to this Keisha Wilkins person can't and won't say it. To be the last experience I had with this company left more then a nasty taste in my mouth and will rethink my recommendation to others. I don't take kindly to people who are going to be nasty when she made the situation worst by running my card so many times and then be mad about not getting instant payment. Then continue to attempt to gain payment through illegal means and empty threats. (All documented through time stamped messages) Now I have to say the crew that does the work and in your home great people. The office personnel not even close. But I guess that's why they aren't in front of the customer. read more

Had this company work on my kitchen floor a few weeks ago. They performed the demolition of old kitchen flooring to installation of new floor tile. I couldn't be happier with the quality of work. My kitchen floor looks great. They definitely did an amazing job. In addition to the quality of work, they displayed tremendous professionalism throughout the entire process. They were very considerate and courteous of my neighbors, cleaned up all the dust from cutting tile, etc. I highly recommend working with this company. By the way, this company is owned and run by father and sons. The father actually worked on my bathroom remodel a couple years ago and did an AMAZING job. My unfortunate experience with this company ultimately resulted in the felony conviction of one of the employees that they sent to my home.  Minutes after the employees of this company finished their work and left my home, I noticed that my engagement ring and the tiny box it was kept in was missing from my dresser drawer. I called the manager immediately to tell him about the missing ring and he told me I was making baseless and harmful accusations and that I had certainly just misplaced it.  After a police investigation, an employee of this company eventually pled guilty to grand theft. The unnecessary emotional trauma that I experienced during this past year could have been avoided if my stated concern over the missing ring had been taken seriously by the manager in the first place. Because of the manager's inadequate and inappropriate response to the issue I described above, I CAN NOT recommend this company. read more

I'm glad to hear about the changes you have made as a result of the difficulties we had. That was the purpose of my post here. As stated previously, Dry Express Restoration (PuroClean) did good work, but the breakdown in communication was unacceptable. It made us feel like we made a huge mistake and were about to get ripped off. I'm glad to hear you have been so proactive in finding ways to address these problems. That's a strong sign of a good business. I haven't responded to your recent calls because I don't expect you to provide me with any free services for my trouble. Again, I was hoping you would change your policies, and I respect the fact that you have done just that. Based on your response here, I would offer this. Make it a policy to ALWAYS give your customers written estimates. Don't wait for them to ask. It's good business practice and it helps the customer, someone you've most likely never done business with before, feel more comfortable and trust you. With respect to State Farm, I can only go by what I was told by our adjuster, and that was we should not have been asked to pay in advance. I understand your need to protect your business and make sure you get paid. However, based on what I learned during this, my first ever experience with a flood in my home, you should have communicated better with State Farm as well. Once you knew this was a covered expense, you should have collected from State Farm. Maybe I'm wrong. All I can tell you is what State Farm told me. With respect to the equipment being checked on Saturday, my sister and her kids were staying at a hotel during all of this, but she was at the house at 7:30am that morning waiting for Jance to come check the equipment. My guess is you were there earlier than she was. The point, however, is she waited all day and called several times and was unable to reach anyone. The same story on Sunday - we were unable to reach anyone until late that day. Given the fact that on Friday the floors were nearly dry, this seemed extremely questionable. Thank you for acknowledging this miscommunication and acting to prevent it in the future. I did meet with you prior to filing a claim with State Farm. It was you who told me it was probably a covered loss and that I should contact them. I also saw Jance everyday throughout the week, and he made it clear he was in charge of our job. I liked that. Again, I believe your company did good work, but the communication breakdown as the job neared its end was very difficult for us. It didn't help that State Farm was telling us we shouldn't have been asked to pay anything. Micah, I sincerely wish you well. You have a good company with good employees, and you do good work. Give your customers written estimates. It's good for business. The people you meet have probably never experienced this before, and they're putting their faith in you, a guy they don't know. If you've corrected the communication problems, and there's no reason for me to believe you haven't, then I'd recommend your company in a heartbeat. read more

I wrote a review a few months back. This is an update. The owner called me once he saw the review and asked me to take it down. They finally finished the job the middle of august but it was the worst experience I've every had being pressured by the owner and then being threatened that they had our items in storage and they would keep them if I cancelled on them. Mind you our insurance paid over 60,000. from the packout , the remediation, the demo, and the remodeling. We had to pay out of pocket for our extra 10 days out of our home to stay at the airbnb because Terry the owner promided to pay half and then the headache that he only paid 40.00 for 5 days. Stingy greedy and sloppy and they have no business ethics at all. Lies and cutting corners funny way they can to come up. Since moving back, some of the work was just messed up and we just wanted back in. I will post pictures of the sloppiness. Then we get billed by the air conditioning company for a bill dry express was to pay and here we go again this money was paid to dry express in their payment and they just don't care. We finally were able to get them to pay the $$ for the air conditioning company-- but they sent us the check to send to the company. Bad business all the way around. Then they charged the insurance 300 for home clean up and prep for me to move back in and guess what- their move was just dumping my stuff in the house and they never cleaned up so it would be move in ready. When Terry called me to ask me to remove the yelp, I questioned him about that and he said- oh I can send someone now( 1 month later). Just bad business. So San Diego homeowners and business owners- If your looking for a bad experience, allot of stress, inconsistencies , lies , bad quality of work, lack of integrity, poor work ethics, sloppy sloppy work, unprofessionalism and a company that doesn't care about nothing but getting paid -- then this is your company. And yes Terry- I'm not taking down the reviews because I owe it to the community I live in and any homeowner to say the truth, so please don't call me or pressure me to take down my reviews because next time I will post your texts . read more

Micah and his team did a great good to quickly restore my property to 100%. General Manager Leo worked effieciently and quickly so that my tenant could return to the property as soon as possible. My wife and I came home at 10:30PM from an exhausting day only to find the downstairs toilet had backed up with raw sewage and flooded 3 rooms. I called Dry Express and the answering service immediately connected me (no waiting for a call back) to their on-call technician who also happened to be their General Manager Leo. Leo arrived approx. one hour after I called them, about 12:35AM AND WAS ACTUALLY CHEERFUL. Leo spent the next few hours cleaning up the sewage, sanitizing and deodorizing to get our home livable thru the night. He also set up drying equipment to begin the wall and floor drying process. I would never recommend this place to anyone. They will just try to scam you for your money. Don't waste your time and money. I was doing flooring in my house and there was mold found under the floor when the wood was removed. I have 3 kids under 5 years old at my house and was very concerned for them and felt I needed immediate attention to be removed. I found this place on yelp that had good reviews and thought I would give it a try. It is 9am and I wanted it removed by the end of the day. I talked to the boss on the phone and he said he can have someone at my house by 4pm to check it out for free. That was to late and I wanted the situation taken care of ASAP so he told me if I pay $150 we can get someone out to my house by 10am (one hour) and do a estimate and they will get on the phone with my insurance company and talk to them about the problem and remove it by the end of the day. So I thought that was perfect and just what I wanted. One hour later they come to my house and do an estimate that only took him 10 minutes to tell me we have mold ( the obvious) and it will cost me between $750-$1000 to do the removal process and they can do it the next day. Then ask for the $150 and leaves. I wouldn't have wasted $150 for 10 minutes of their time to have them come out in an hour to get nothing done, tell me something I already know and couldn't do anything till the next day. I could have waited for them to come out to my house at 4pm for free and still have worked on my house the next day! And they didn't ask anything about my insurance or cared to talked to them. Just told me I probably wouldn't get it cover. Well we found another place and they took care of it for us and we are covered by the insurance with no deductible. Nothing out of pocket. read more

Dry Express Restoration came quick and cut out all the wet drywall sprayed some stuff to kill the mold. The dry out was complete in 4 days. True professionals from start to finish, they answered the phone every time I called with questions. Wet dry wall is a mess don't try to take on this job your self call a professional company like Dry Express Restoration. They have special tools to read the moisture levels in the dry wall.
