We really enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. Yelp has never steered us wrong. We really enjoyed the nachos for an appetizer. We also enjoyed the Cuban, chicken tenders and Monti Cristo. I want to start off by saying I always try a place three times before forming an opinion. So today was the third time and it is by far one of the worst restaurants in the area. Service is fantastic but I have never encountered a bar that can make a hamburger taste bad. If you're unfortunate enough to find yourself here get the nachos. I have been to this place several times in 2020 and the food was delicious. Just returned in 2021 and it was the worst meal ever. I had the Korean tacos which was ground beef with no seasoning or spice you would expect in Korean taco. I had more spiced rum in my mai tai that ended up tasting like a whiskey sour. The fries were cold but that could be because the AC kept the inside 60 degrees. When patrons have to put on jackets in August. It's too cold!!! Nevertheless I will not ever be returning to the Drum and Quill to pay the outrageous expense of $70 for lunch for 2. Been going here since they opened and I loveddd my shrimp tacos today! Oh my goodness they were soooo good, the shrimp were seasoned to perfection, they were juicy, and my toppings were awesome. Friendly pub in the village of Pinehurst. Attentive service, never had to wait for a Guinness refill. We had the pimento cheese tray and the Buffalo chicken & shrimp to start. Came here twice during our stay at Pinehurst and I just love and adore this quaint little special place. Mardi Gras is upon us, so they had some awesome specials that we dug into. I got the Gumbo that was so good! Also, had some gator bites, and some great drinks. Had the Garden Mule each time I went and it was so good with fresh cranberries, blueberries and cucumber. So refreshing and hit the spot. Came back a second time for a round of drinks, love all the local beers on tap. The bar is cute and just the right amount of small to make it quaint and cozy. The staff is super friendly, especially loved the hostess at the front who was super sweet. Great environment and a must stop if your staying in town! Thanks, for the hospitality! read more

The menu items all sound great but the execution on some are a bit lacking. During my most recent visit I ordered the blackened steak salad which had "blackened" steak, blue cheese, eggs, bacon, tomatoes and red onion. Now, I'm pretty sure blackened means meat cooked with certain spices that give it the black appearance, but the steak I had here was black from char. Overpowered the whole salad. I had to take the meat out. Very disappointing. My son got the chicken fingers which were really good, beer battered I think. Staff can use some common sense too. When my friend and I showed up with a toddler they asked if we wanted to sit at the bar (???) And when my friend wanted lime wedges for her fish tacos the waitress brought her paper thin slices from the bar garnish area. Useless! read more

I came here with my mom on Saturday. The inside has a quaint rustic look which I just so happen to like. I ordered the Korean beef tacos and my mom got the grilled chicken tacos and we split an order of sweet potato fries. My tacos had plenty of beef on them, which is something most restaurants skip out on. The tacos were okay, but nothing to rave about. I would probably order something else next time. I just found the flavor to be over-powering. However, the won-ton chips that came with them were FANTASTIC. I could not stop munching on them at all. The sweet potato fries came out perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My mom said she really enjoyed her tacos, and I must admit they looked pretty delicious. I would come back here again, but a tip for everyone is to get here early because by the time we left it was a full house and they had not even been open for an hour yet. read more

Love the ambiance of this little place. Feels really homey and everyone seems to know everyone. Sort of a "Cheers" atmosphere. A lovely waitress named "Rachel" was the kindest and friendliest we have ever had. Only one thing I would change- would like to see baked potatoes on the menu and more veggies- hubs had a burger that he said was the best ever. The sweet potato fries were delicious! The atmosphere and food are both 5's. The only reason I'm giving this place a 4 is due to the service. Hostess was amazing, helpful, and sweet. Both servers working outside could use an attitude adjustment. Will give it another try though as everyone has bad nights from time to time. read more

This place is definitely a pub, and not a good one. We live an hour from Pinehurst and dropped in here on our last visit. We waited for a very long time to be seated and the table was dirty. No one was seated at the bar and the bar tender was no help. The waitress talked to the table next to us 2 times. She walked by us and did not acknowledge us. With menus on the table and us waiting to order, another waitress walked by. Both waitresses walked by us many times and then, believe it or not, went to wait on the same table. The bar tender played on his phone. I can't comment on the food, but the menu was very limited. I see this place is for drinks only. After a 20 minute wait and no service, we left and went somewhere else. read more
