I have had problems for three months with my lap top not recognizing my iPhone 6S to download photos or perform a back up. I've been on the phone with Apple support for hours trying to resolve it, including doing system diagnosis downloads for their engineering people to analyze. First, they forgot about my phone and I ended up waiting an extra 45 minutes, thats 1 hour and 45 minutes when I was told an hour. People who came in to the shop after me, got their phones before me! Second, my ear piece now crackles when I listen to whoever is talking on my phone. Third, my screen isn't even in all the way, I can see the corner thats sticking up and push down on it with my finger, and the shit moves!!! Fourth, the screens suck! I tap on mine and it barely recognizes my finger when typing. I almost have to smash it with my finger. Fifth, $116 bucks for shit service and a shit screen. I spoked to a young man named Ali and he said my phone would be ready in an hour . I bike ride to the beach and came back in forty five min and it was all ready . My screen is better then it was before and thankfully the glass is out of my fingers . Brought my iPhone in.. They quoted me a surprisingly high price, said they were ordering the parts, and to come back in a week. I came back in a week, they said they never ordered the parts, and acted like I was an idiot for asking. They claim they never order parts without a deposit (which they never mentioned or asked me for). DropSmashFix misleads customers about the quality of the replacement parts they use. They claim to use OEM parts which to any normal person would mean that they are Original Equipment Manufacturer parts. However, DropSmashFix changed the definition of OEM and actually uses what they define as "Orignal Equivalent Manufacturer" parts which are inferior quality to Apple parts. I paid over $100 to have my phone screen fixed only to have it break the next week after falling off of a couch seat WITH a case (2ft drop). The screen shattered again which would not have happened with truly OEM parts. We called to complain about the quality of the parts and that's when we discovered that they had changed the definition of OEM. You get what you pay for, next time go to the Apple store. read more

The power connection on my iPhone 5 was flakey and came in to see if it could be repaired. They did a great job with that repair (has worked flawlessly since the repair) but after the repair I noticed that my front facing camera was not working. (I never had a problem with that prior to the repair.) They offer a warranty so I dropped it off again but they were unable to repair the front-facing camera. A day later I realized that both the phone speaker and mic no longer work and the front glass is starting to pop up on the corner. The phone is old (over two years) and I'm not particularly gentle with it so I knew I would have to replace it eventually but am disappointed that the phone is in worse condition than it was prior to the repair. Everyone at the store was super nice. Two stars for that. I strongly recommend that if you choose this repair store check your device completely before leaving the store. Make sure all the hardware works (speakers, mic, cameras, volume button, etc.). Probably good advice for any repair store. read more

After I cracked the screen on my iPhone SE, I took it to the Apple store, who first said they would fix it for $129, and then after I had waited an hour said they couldn't service it at all because of evidence of water intrusion. I took it to DropSmashFix, where the tech replaced the screen in 30 minutes and for a fraction of what Apple would have charged. He also valiantly tried to fix another side effect of water immersion, unsuccessfully as it turns out -- I'm going to need a new phone to get a working front camera microphone again, it seems -- but DropSmashFix did not charge me for the extra time and effort. As of 2/17/2016 these guys have an 88% 5-star rating - that's extremely rare (with good sample size of ratings: 117). And it's true - I give them 5 stars also. Almost all they do is smartphone repairs - but I had a completely different issue: a Bose noise-reducing headphone set with a battery that leaked with the ensuing gunk causing it to be stuck inside the tiny battery compartment on the side of the earpiece. That situation would make the $300 headphones totally useless. But Raphael was all over it - he was honest with me: we don't usually do this; I'll see what I can do; but I can't promise anything. Less than an hour later he called me: he had gotten the battery out, cleaned out the leaked battery ooze from the battery compartment and the connectors, and with a new battery the headphones were working fine. Headphones as good as new! Raphael's a great tech and great with customer service. I recommend these guys. read more

In regards to Janelle's post, after I got it fixed, I asked if glass was OEM. Customer agent said it was not, but A++ quality. Therefore Janelle may have a point about reported, or actual quality of screen replacement. I've had my phone now for 10 mins and it seems to work fine. These guys were great. They were able to fix my daughter's smashed screen of her Moto Z. Unfortunately they had to order the part in so it took the loooong eight days until it was done and then we had to take it back in to have the redo it when the screen started lifting a bit, BUT the all the people here are so, so friendly that they for sure deserve the four stars (and not having a part is of course not their fault....nobody had it). I brought my ipad in to get the screen fixed. The night we brought it home the home button broke and there was a line across the screen. Neither was an issue before I brought it in.
