Very pleased with this company. I tried to give them a tip and pay for services when they came out to do a repair on my driveway but they told me to do a review on my experience: Last spring in 2016 the crew came out and did my job, it was flawless. I have large road/driveway. They graded it prepped and then paved it. Over the year we decided to have a few projects done and had a small area on the edge damaged. I called the office this summer to explain what had happened and it was really nothing to do with the quality of the work they performed just additional contractors in and out. Jennifer explained that they were busy on a few larger project across the county but the next they were in my general area, herself or one the crew members would check it out. Well Friday I returned home to see the whole crew there and fixed the minor issue. Even though I was out of my warranty phase they did exactly what they said. They didn't come out the next day, it took a couple of weeks while they were down the road doing a another a project like she explained. Not only did they fix a problem that really wasn't theirs to begin with they didn't charge me. This is company is a stand up company and stands behind their work, they let you know what to expect from the beginning. I can only imagine the cost of driving those trucks up and down and fuel costs right! When I asked what do I owe you, she just smiled and said "It wasn't that big of a deal we were just down the road. If you have the time write a review on what you have experienced with our company. Have a good weekend!" And just like that the packed everything up and left, and my issue was resolved. Andy & Michael were top notch equipment operators, doing everything to perfection. Jennifer explained the process with ease and made communicating a breeze! Thank you to the whole team for putting my trust back into the american contractors. I had gotten a quote last year from these guys. I have seen them in the Fredericksburg area since I moved here over 30 yrs ago. I remembering them in business over on White Oak rd before they did all the work over there changing the roads around. Why Im writing a review is because its kind of disheartening when getting quote saving for an expensive project and when it comes to to hire a company some of the companies are no longer in business. This company has been in business for over 35 years and still going strong, Im happy I went with them. I stopped by their office because I was so happy with my end result I wanted to leave a tip for the crew.... I guess there new policy is just asking clients to review their experience with the company good or bad. This company honored a quote from a while ago, The owner Michael shook my hand and made promises to me and delivered them. All without asking for a deposit. I respect a man who stands behind their work and delivers what he says. I don't care paying a little more when I know what Im getting either. My driveway looks great, and when it comes time in the future to get more work done I wont bother calling another company they have made me a life time customer. Miles Fredericksburg, va read more

I contacted Driveways By Us to have my roundabout driveway paved. I originally had rock which was hard to maintain--especially when it came to weeds. Driveways By Us was actually a lot cheaper than I originally anticipated as my driveway is fairly large (that is a bonus in itself). On the day of the paving, they picked up the equipment and were there early. My driveway was paved shortly after lunch time and it looks great. They used professional, branded equipment--and we ended the deal on a handshake. I have zero complaints. I see that someone posted a bad review about not recieiving a call back from this company. However, that was not my experience. I called and received a estimate the same day. They were expected to show up 2 days later to start, but we received a heavy rain. They called me the afternoon before and let me know. Since it was a Friday, that pushed things to Monday. Again, on Monday we received a heavy rain. They called me again and kept me updated. If them keeping in contact was an issue--it has since been resolved. Good on them for growing as a company. read more

When researching contractors to do our 300 foot plus driveway, we decided right off the bat that we wanted a local company that had been in the area for years with an excellent reputation. We contacted a couple of contractors and eventually decided on Driveways by Us. The owner himself came to do the estimate - which was impressive in this day and age. We were concerned about the fact that we had mature crepe myrtle trees on both sides of our current gravel driveway. He explained what was needed and let us know his entire family was involved in the business and did the actual work. Another impressive fact we didn't expect. We also received a reasonable estimate. On the day of the project, the company showed up as expected, owner, sons, and daughter were all present and a few hours later, we had a beautiful asphalt driveway! This family knows their business! They are very knowledgeable and friendly to work with. We are so glad we went with Driveways by Us! We have a fabulous asphalt driveway that we are proud of!!! Thank you - Driveways by Us!! read more

These guys do a Fantastic job! Affordable, flexible and quick. I dealt with Andy, and he could not have been any more pleasant to deal with. Very knowledgeable and professional group of guys that did this job. He looked at the job and said when the weather permits it he will come out and getter done! With Hurricane Florence changing course and he was out the next day at 7 a.m. and was done by 10 a.m. that was putting more base Rock down, regrading and then laying the asphalt. If I could give these guys more than five stars I absolutely would. I will definitely be a repeat customer for many many years to come as we are just getting started. Driveways by us, ANDY & crew we thank you for doing such a great job. read more

We have used Driveways By Us for our own driveway, and now they are doing our neighborhood road and I couldn't be more impressed with their professionalism! They do excellent work, keep the job site clean without leaving a mess, and are incredibly responsive and professional when answering everyone's questions. I especially appreciate that they don't leave behind unsightly marks or circles on the road. They are going to be hard to beat! Another huge plus is that they offer residents the opportunity to have their private driveways done while they are already working on the neighborhood road, which makes it convenient and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend Driveways By Us! read more

Love these guys! Andy came out and gave me a price a few days ago. I was concerned because their price was 60% less than one contractor and 25% less than another. I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for. However, after seeing all of the great reviews online I decided to take a leap of faith and go for it. They showed up on time, were polite and professional, and did a great job! I am so happy with my new driveway, It makes the whole house look better. I only wish I had known about them years ago. A+ customer service and A+ quality. Thanks to Andy and the crew! You're my go to guys should I ever need more work! read more

I have had a lot of time in my hands working from home and being on quarantine- so fixing up the house and yard has been pretty easy. Contacted these guys for a quote and was very impressed by them. I decided to hire to them after another receiving another quote. Then two weeks of rain! But the office kept me informed - another site inspection took place to make sure we were ready for installation after the rain, the crew worked in sync everything went so smooth. Highly impressed with my project my yard has been transformed and looks awesome! No gimmicks No changes Straight talk and results- thanks for an awesome driveway! read more

What a great experience! Andrew and the gang promised and delivered. Remarkably prompt, once I inquired about an estimate, I received a call back within the hour and an on-site appraisal the same day. Very affordable, their estimate saved us thousands that other reputable local companies couldn't match. Professional and courteous, throughout every step of the process from "shaking" on the deal to final inspection the company is top notch. They far exceeded my expectations, I WILL recommend them to friends and family! Thanks again Andrew, we are customers for life. Marc T Stafford, VA read more

So happy with the service from this company. We had other estimates that were cheaper but once discussed with Jennifer to compare she took the time to explain why they were a bit more. Well worth the money spent and really took the time to come out several times to make sure we would be happy. The crew worked super hard and efficiently! Can't say enough good things about Driveways By Us. Andrew and his team were extremely professional, proficient, and detail-oriented. They were customer-focused and recommended several improvements with a price that, including the additional work, still beat the competition's quotes. Resurfaced about 300 feet of driveway and a multi-car parking apron in just a few hours -- looks fantastic! 5 Stars! read more

We used driveways by us for our home in Fawn Lake on a whim after seeing one of their trucks in our neighborhood working on another driveway. They were polite, clean, courteous and did an outstanding job at resurfacing our driveway. It looks like new for a fraction of the cost. Thanks again and I will let all our neighbors know when they ask who paved our driveway. read more

Driveways by Us gave us a fair quote to repave our driveway. They crew arrived at the agreed upon time and repaved our 20-year-old driveway. The crew was efficient and neat. One of the men was there to ensure that all was done to customer satisfaction. He was knowledgeable and made sure all was completed as planned. The repaved driveway looks great! read more
