My experience with Drivers Automotive was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I came in simply to get a quote for a service my vehicle needed. At no point--when I arrived--was I told there would be a $125 diagnostic fee just for them to look at my car. After waiting over two hours in the lobby, I was finally given the quote and only then informed of the $125 fee. This lack of transparency felt misleading and dishonest. Customers deserve to know about fees before anything is done. When I confronted the representative about not being informed of the charge (after I had already paid it), she became extremely rude and used profane language, telling me to "shut the f*** up." She then kicked me out of the office while I was simply trying to get my receipt. I waited nearly 30 minutes outside just to receive proof of payment. In the end, Drivers Automotive lost a major deal over a $125 fee--a small amount that ultimately cost them my business and potentially more. Consumers need to be aware: They do not disclose the diagnostic fee upfront, and this lack of transparency can cost you. This was by far the worst customer service experience I've had, and I strongly advise others to be cautious. read more

You do not want to take your car here for any reason. Techs are horrible and rude, and the manager Amy needs a lesson in communication to put it nicely. I got my oil pump replaced here, and after getting my truck back they did not put the bolt back on my tie rod, which compeletely fell off the wheel of my truck going 75 mph on the interstate. Luckily I was okay, but could have easily flipped my truck. I got it towed, expecting them to cover the towing. They told me the receipt said I had to use their towing service (that was a lie it did not) but they were closed when I broke down. The manager Amy said I should have left my truck on the interstate and called their towing company in the morning. They did not cover my towing. I had another shop look at my truck to see if anything else was wrong, and they left a shop rag in my oil pan. I showed them a video of the shop rag sticking out- Amy said "I trust my techs would not do that" even though I had video proof. They refused to take it out and then cut the edge off instead- and said they "don't use blue shop rags." I looked under the truck myself at the shop and when I turned around there was blue shop rags there- Amy said that was an old techs rags and no one else ever uses them. To top it all off, when I said f*** it ill just pick up my truck, they did not put the cover back under my truck. I asked Amy if they could put it back on and she said yes, while I was waiting they locked up the shop, and she told me her tech would be back to put it on. Then the tech came back and said he wasn't putting it back on because the shop was closed. I had to come back a day later for them to put it back on. I am very reasonable and patient and very rarely get mad about anything or judge- but this place should be shut down and Amy should be fired. No clue how this place has more than 2 stars anywhere. read more

Was referred to this place by the oil change shop I frequent near the Battery. I went a couple months ago off the reviews I'd seen here, though they are all from many years ago. My experience was frustrating and drawn out to say the least. 1st visit - problem: my VW's headlight was out and I'd been told by past mechanics that the module or multiple modules needed to be replaced (I couldn't afford to fix at the time but this time I could). Also, the check engine light was on and I'd been seeing the "check engine oil pressure" light flash multiple times. They held onto my car for a couple days to figure out the issues which was my first red flag (over the phone they told me it would be diagnosed and fixed same day). They finally told me there was an oil leak and they had to replace the oil separator and pressure switch. Thanks so much, but I asked you to look at my headlight too...do you know they ended up keeping my car another 3 days to figure this out?! They finally invoice me for a new headlamp and I just knew this would not be the proper fix but I made sure to ask them if they were sure. They were sure and said it was NOT the module. I then get to the shop to pick up my car and upon walking in they tell me, as I am standing there to pay, that it was actually the ballast which was more expensive. To be honest, the last minute discovery wasn't my issue, the lack of communication throughout the almost week of them having my car was the issue. I constantly had to call and text to get updates. Nevertheless, got it fixed and all was well or so I thought. 2nd visit - problem: headlight worked for a couple days maybe and it wasn't until I parked in front of a glass door that I saw the same headlight was out. My car also had a slow start so I took it back to the shop. The slow start was the battery and it took them 2 days to fix that smh. This time, they kept my car for even longer and instead of playing that game, I asked to take it back while they figured out the invoice for the headlight and once they did, planned to return my car to them to fix. I chased this woman down for the invoice, literally every day for almost a week. Finally, they told me that two modules needed to be replaced and that I had water seeping into the headlight which damaged the ballast but that part was under warranty. (Didn't I mention modules before? Yes, but they told me confidently I was wrong.) Also, how do I know they didn't cause the water damage in their reassemble the last time? They were charging an additional $2000 to fix when I spent nearly $1000 on the original repairs for this headlight. Though expensive, again the cost isn't the issue for me, it's the lack of expertise to find this problem the first time and then not acknowledging their responsibility in neglecting to fix all the lights in the headlight (they only fixed the one light not the multiple lights that make up the assembly). Remember the first issue? My car is now experiencing the exact same problems not even 2 months later. I feel like I wasted $3300 to fix all these problems that never were really fixed. They claim to give the best options price wise but I've already had my car seen by VW experts (not dealership) who have recommended a better alternative for the headlight (cheaper too) and found the issue in a shorter timeframe. I also did not ever have to wonder what was going on with my car or what the latest updates were as they called me with that information before I could think it. Overall, I believe that the mechanics did their best but ended up costing me an uneasy, frustrating and drawn out experience due to their lack of expertise with my vehicle. If you have a European car, I wouldn't recommend this shop but if not, I'm sure your experience could be much better than mine. Porshae is very nice, but unable to juggle all the shop's clients efficiently. read more

OVERPRICED! Avoid this shop that is no longer ran by Alben. The new owner Anthony only cares about ripping his customers off. I brought my car in for a tuneup and oil change. At other shops this would typically cost between $200-$250. This shop charged me $440. Travelled from the other side of town with hopes of establishing a dependable shop. I live in Roswell, but I'd rather drive to Powder Springs to get my cars fixed here. They're are experts in their field. They fix your issue the first time, and if you have time, you can ask the science behind the problem and the fix. I am an engineer and if something is not done in specs, I hate it. But, not with this company. Very professional, respectful, friendly, courteous, cheerful, clean, trustworthy. Maybe, a former Eagle scout? Call them ASAP, so they can schedule you ASAP. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!! Been coming to this shop for 3 years when Alben was there. Had a starter replaced, a battery, alternator, catalytic converter, knock sensor this WAS my go to mechanic. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. NOW these NEW mechanics are there and it's been nothing but problems. I originally came here because my car would vibrate and make a noise when it's time to switch gears when driving. Like not enough oxygen was coming through the car for a peaceful transition. When I previously had this problem it was the O2 sensor despite what the check engine report said Anthony assured me my air intake hose needed to be replaced. I got the repairs done and later that day my car started making a knocking noise which it NEVER made before (as you see on the receipt) ALSO my car started hesitating and putting like it didn't want to go then when it did go the force would jerk my neck so hard I could of gotten whiplash. I brought my car back to Drivers Automotive the next day they corrected the hesitation problem but the car is still making this knocking noise. After $695 worth of repairs I shouldn't have any new problems leaving the mechanic. Against my better judgement I schedule an appointment to have my A/C compressor replaced. BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!! 10 minutes after I drove the car it started running hot. Of course when I go back to the shop they're gone for the day. Next day I return and they tell me my radiator cap is broken and causing the car to overheat. They tried to charge me $30 for a new one. After coming back TWICE for re-evaluation and spending $1,520 they're still trying to get more money out of me. Thank God the receptionist gave it to me as a courtesy. The A/C is still making a lot of noise so I took it to another mechanic for a second opinion. That mechanic told me "the compressor is leaking bad, making a lot of noise, barely blowing cold air and weighing down the engine." THIRD time returning to Driver's Automotive for them to fix what they already said they fixed. I told Anthony what the other mechanic said and showed him my report. After AN HOUR of waiting for them to assess and fix the problem I was told one of the valves attached to the compressor was pinched. The same valves they replaced when they put the new compressor in. I asked Anthony if I could get some of my money reimbursed to me for all the problems and time wasted because of their services. He told me "next time he'll give me 50% off my labor fees." Even though they messed up THIS TIME. Needless to say $1,520 later and 3 additional trips back for re-evaluation I WILL NEVER RETURN TO DRIVERS AUTOMOTIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The A/C is now blowing cooler air and I will get another A/C inspection done soon to see if it's still leaking. If it is, my next resort will be a LAWSUIT. I have NEVER been to a mechanic and had to come back as many times as I did with them. I don't know why it's sooo hard for people to be HONEST. But, God knows and see's all. I've taken my FJ here ever since I've had it and I can always trust that the techs not only know what they're talking about but they're truthful and don't cheat you by diagnosing other "problems." I first brought my car in because there was a weird sound coming from the wheels and turns out it was a differential problem. Rather than doing the repairs themselves, they suggested I take it back to the dealer so the warranty can cover it. I've never been to an auto repair shop that would pass off work like that and since then I don't bother going anywhere else. You'll always hear positive things from other customers and it's all because these guys are great! read more

Our hearts go out to Alben and Ruben Illagan for the loss of their business in a random, vicious arson attack. I found them by accident 3 years ago when I was desperate for car repairs and they are the best mechanics anyone (especially us females) could ask for. They were always honest. A chain quoted me $500 on back brake pads and rotors. When I took the car to Alben he called me the next day and said that nothing was wrong with my brakes. He said I had enough brake pad to last another year. He could have lied to make money like everyone else but he didn't. I will miss him and his father very much!
