Went here last night with my wife for the very 1st time. We went because last night was free and a double header. Two movies back to back. We got here at 5:20 pm and the doors opened at 6 pm. We were asked 2 simple questions prior to reaching the booth. When we got to the both, we were told what movies were showing and we chose Wicked: For Good. We were directed to the screen on the right side of the lot. We loved how the parking lot had individual bumps to park. This let us know that we all would be able to see with no issues. Concession stand: They have many food, snacks and drinks (alcohoic and non-alcoholic) options. We went with 2 options...a personal pan cheese and a personal pan pepperoni. We both had a slushie. Altogether, I paid about $26. The movie started and had to tune into 96.7 FM (I think) to hear the movie. All headlights were told to be turned off. The movie and sound was clear. This was a very smooth experience. We will most certainly go back. read more

I came here with my four kids on a Saturday night. The tickets were affordable and there was plenty of space to park and have a good view. The have a concession stand and a play area. I haven't been to the drive-in movies since I was kid, so I think I was the most excited out of the group. It was easy to connect to the radio for sound. I saw a kids' movie, so there were definitely restless kids running around their cars (safely). If you have littles but you're worried about taking them to an indoor movie theater, this is another option for watching movies without the stress! read more

Love that the drive inn movies are still available. It's probably the only thing I could remember from the good ole days. We came on a December Saturday for the first showing. It started around 530 for a winters day. Summer time would probably start some time after 7 It wasn't pretty busy. Getting to the location was a bit difficult, so I suggest if getting off the freeway from Pittsburg, get off on Solano/industrial way turn left then left on Solano way making another left on industrial place quick right on olivera road then a fast left to the drive inn. If you are getting off coming from Martinez Solano way/ industrial place don't make a right! make a left on industrial place then a right on peralta road, the next right on olivera road to make a right in to the drive in. We made a right on industrial way, a right on peralta road then the mistake of making the next right on industrial place...better to pass that street and make a right on olivera road to make a right into the drive inn. We ended up on industrial place that has a no u turn sign (which some people don't follow and still make a u turn) don't be those people please. I wonder where the cops were to give those people a ticket for not following street rules If you are getting off coming from Martinez The arch way entrance had holiday lights and there are only 3 movies to choose from. I believe only 2 screens they play on as well. I've gone to the San Jose and Sacramento locations that had much more screens but it wasn't all traffic if you go after the movie has been out for a couple weeks now like we did for Zootopia 2. The kids watched it on thanksgiving day in the movie theaters but they wanted to see it again and I was able to join now. I saw a food truck at the place where the movie projects to the screens and there are in door restrooms available near with other food (popcorn/drinks) to grab inside. There is also a small play place for the kids but I think it's probably more played on during warmer days We parked the van backwards and opened up the back door but it was so cold. We had blankets but I think with a smaller car it's better forward. We'll definitely be back when another interesting movie comes along read more

This is one of the best movie spots where it costs super reasonable still. We started during the pandemic because it was social distancing and it was so great. Tickets are $10 an adult and kids are $2 (ages 2-11) and the concessions are just as reasonable. About the same price for concessions and tickets as if we went to Regal for just tickets. Some people sit outside with speakers, but it's nice inside of the car. Love the drive-in. It's one of our favorite movie places at a very pre-pandemic price still. It was my first time coming here and I had a good experience! The staff member I interacted with when I was coming in was kind, helpful and accommodated with special requests I had. The lines for food looked long but I didn't wait in them, I think they allow outside food, thats what I ended up doing instead. Everything with the movie ran smoothly, there were some audio issues with my friend's Tesla, but maybe that was a fault on our end. We brought our kids to the drive in for the first time at this Concord location. It's been decades since I had my first drive-in movie experience as a teenager, and this definitely was much better. We did our research that told us gates open up 45 minutes early before showtime, however, it appears that people may have even started arriving an hour early given the crowd size when we arrived. Entry was orderly where there are two lines to enter - one for prepaid online tickets on the left side and one for ticket purchases on the right side. There are two screens so be sure to know which one to head to if you're new to this location. We got lucky and pulled up to Screen 1, the larger of the two located on the left side when entering. Screen 2 is the smaller lot on the right side. We opted to park in the 2nd row to get a decent viewing distance where the screen size resembles more closely to being at the movie theater. The only downside is expect a 20 minute plus wait to get out of the lot after the movie as the only way out to exit is through the same entrance gate to get in. This is the major reason for the one star rating deduction for an otherwise excellent experience. Because we arrived early, there was plenty of time to set up our chairs beside our cars and make a trip to the concessions building complete with some small arcade games and bathrooms. The bathrooms are kept clean, but you can definitely tell the age of the building otherwise. We were pleasantly surprised by the reasonableness of the food and drink prices, BUT beware the listed menu prices are not accurate and you will possibly see actual prices rung up at the cashier are 20% higher as in the case of our Slushie!!! Isn't this advertising fraud??? The listed price was $6, but we were rung up for $7.25. This was another major reason for the rating deduction here. Management should know better especially since their menu boards are electronic and it doesn't take that much effort to correct for this! Overall this was an excellent movie experience where the visual and audio quality is better than my experience years ago. Audio can easily and clearly be heard whether you're viewing from outside or inside your car, where you tune your radio to 105.7 FM. We may try the San Jose location next time as it appears there are more movie selections and times there...possibly there are more screens there? In any case, the little bit of nostalgia and a unique experience will make for lasting memories! read more

Same as 50 years ago, but with the addition of a Taco Truck. This is one of my favorite places to go and favorite things to do in Concord. I saw Bambi here as a child in the early 70s. The sound coming through your FM radio is much better than the old hang on the window speaker. I will always come here first to watch a movie. read more

So glad we found this drive in theatre! We haven't been to the movie theatre for more than 4 years now since we have toddlers. So this drive in has been perfect and part of exposing them to movie theatre while not having to worry about them being distractive and talking throughout the movie. The price is cheap compared to regular movie theatre. They have a confession stand that you can get your popcorn, sodas, hot chocolate, etc. Though you're free to bring whatever you want to the drive in. The audio plays through FM radio channel through your car unless you have a portable radio to use. Some people stayed inside their car, while some bring lawn chairs to sit outside. Whatever you fancy within your car spot. If you're in your car, just be mindful of your battery and restart maybe in the middle of the movie - though please keep your headlights off! Only issue that we found and was able to navigate by turning off audio was the trailers before the movie. Since we were watching kid friendly movie - Mufasa, there were kid inappropriate trailers that we wished they didn't include. So, be aware and turn off accordingly if you have young kids. I got a pretzel with my points and it was pulled from the freezer and cooked so when I got it half was very crunchy and solid hard and the other half was soggy with too much butter. I went back in and asked to have it remade and the manager Ryan was extremely rude and said "to make it simple you will get a refund". He didn't care that it was made improper and he had no care to deal with customers and it seems he didn't have the training or patience to as well. I love this theater for its accessibility, no-fuss self-service, and overall classic simplicity (no over-governance, commercial interference, and technology works as expected). Solano WW offers late night showings and I appreciate how they don't micromanage arrival times, or where and how you choose to park. This location upholds the freedom and autonomy to trust their patrons choice to maximize their experience, and everyone (fellow pats and staff) is always respectful. The entrance attendants are always helpful and chipper, and consistently offer the necessary information required for a smooth experience +movie insights and campus directions or tips, upon request. They offer online ticket sales and you can drive up after showtime start and still buy a ticket (unlike the theater box offices!). The reason for my 4 stars: Solano WW has made recent improvements to their restroom/concession facility, yet it's not so well signed or easily accessible on a crowded night; although centrally located, it would be more comodable to have a mini satellite outpost with single stall/limited food+drink offerings on the campus for busier nights and it's unclear what is available for concessions and when/what is offered, unless you go looking. I love that they offer a range of movie genres and niche-films with varied ratings.. another testament to how it is very open, lax and communal. And did I mention they started serving 21+ beverages?! This place is a golden oldie jackpot and I'll be back again and again. My only perfection suggestion is to improve upon the convenience amenities (consumables/ facility offerings, parking lot markers, signage and trash/recycle bin locations, etc.). We had a great night at the West Wind Solano Drive-In Theater! I joined their free movie club online, bought tickets (great value! $9 adults and only $2.75 per child), pulled up to the booth and the employee took the code on my e-receipt. I received a paper receipt with info on what radio to tune into in order to hear the movie and he directed me to the correct screen. Simple and easy check in process. We found a great spot near the front, parked and popped up our tailgate - we planned ahead and brought pillows and blankets which was perfect. We all wanted to try out their snacks and I was pleasantly surprised by the selection, the decent price and the taste. The cheese and pepperoni pizzas were $7 - $7.75 each and tasted good. We had churros, candy and an Icee as well. They entered my phone number so I can earn rewards. I didn't check out the other selections but there was also a food truck that smelled good. There's a small playground for young kids, bathrooms that are close by, and the movie itself was great. All staff were friendly and helpful. I grew up going to this drive in and consider it a Bay Area staple. It's a fun way to see movies, wearing comfy clothing and cuddling up in the car w your favorite snacks. I'm only giving three stars based off of a recent experience I had at the drive-in watching the new highly acclaimed movie SINNERS. People had raved about how aesthetically beautiful the movie was shot and I can appreciate a beautiful film. Unfortunately, I feel that because we chose to view the movie at the drive-in, we were robbed of seeing it the way it was meant to be watched. The movie does advertise that you should view it in IMAX, so maybe it's our fault for choosing the drive-in. However, the screens at the drive-in were highly saturated. The film was so dark, we could barely see anything. Barely make out faces, couldn't see any of the blood in the film, which I didn't completely mind lol, however, it's a vampire movie, we should get the full experience. I just felt like we really missed out, and sort of wasted our money. We now have to rewatch the film in theaters to get the whole experience, because I can tell it was a good movie, I just can't speak to the cinematic beauty. We didn't see any of it. I felt like we were squinting and straining our eyes the entire 2 1/2 hour long movie. When I tried to call the drive in the next day to speak to someone about our experience, the call did not go through. As if they had turned their phone off. That was disappointing, because I know we can't be the only people who had that experience that night. read more

As a 70's baby, from a huge family, drive-in's we're a eventful night, excited to be out late, and eating in the car with a movie! That excitement is still alive in Concord,CA. I'm no drive-in theater aficionado but this place was much better than the last one I went to. Seemed really organized. I was surprised to see the wavy aisles of parking spaces and I liked how big each spot was in case you wanted to sit outside (bring your own chairs!). For 2 adults tickets came out to $18. The radio station to listen to the movie is printed on the receipt. There was a play area, bathrooms, and place to buy snacks but the A/C was down and it was seriously hotter inside than outside. We brought out own food and snacks to eat in the car. Next time, I'd bring some pillows and blankets to get extra comfy. The building to the right (of the right screen) had some bright lights, but luckily I had a sun shade to block my window. It was a fun experience overall and great place to take kids. read more

So lucky to have a drive in close to home! As soon as you drive up to the entrance you're taken back to the 1950s. Get there early, steak out a good parking spot, set up your camping chairs of the back of your pickup and relax. We love to pick up pizza on the way, however they also have plenty of snacks to choose from. The sound plays out of your car speakers so bringing a spare jumper cable is advised. My battery dies once after the show and the staff was kind enough to use a portable charger to get me back on the road. read more

The drive in is a little run down. We have come for the movies. Its really busy and the line to get in can be crazy. The kids like sitting in the back of the truck to watch the show. It can get cold. Bring the blankets and snacks. Our latest adventures have been to the Sunday Swap Meet. Its fun. We go a little later in the day when there is better, closer parking. The kids love the swap meet. They really enjoy going from booth to booth. You can get lots of cheap jewelry and clothes. Don't forget knives. I love looking at the knives. In the past, when I was very young, we came to the swap meet for fruit. I will say the last few visits we have been the fruit selection was not that great. I've been very disappointed. I will not be buying fruit here any more. The snack bar needs a lot of help. Not sure what is going on but if you're looking for a set to shoot a movie that looks like its from the 70's, this is a great local to scout. We got in line an hour and a half before the show. I would not recommend that because the gates open 45 minutes before the show starts so there was no need to be that early. We had gotten some kebab wraps to eat there so it was no biggie. They repaved the parking lot since the last time we were there so that was very nice. The bathrooms were very very clean!!they are on the older side, so not perfect but you could see that care was taken to keep them super clean. I appreciate that. You can get here early & STILL wait over 20 mins to get in to park. You WILL wait OVER 20 mins for popcorn, they have NO AC while your waiting inline for your snacks instead they have box fans zip tied together pulling in all the hot air from outside. The price you pay for popcorn/drink/snack is crazy, I get inflation BUT it shouldn't be over $21+ get 3 items. It so hot in the snack shake the ice melts, the soda is flat & the icees are completely melted, good luck getting a drink. They will NOY give you a bottle Of soda for the $12 deal which is crappy. It's cheaper ($8.75 per person), comfier since you can bring pillows / blankets, and more fun when you can bring your own snacks! Definitely a unique experience if you have never been. We came here to see the Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings, which ended up being great. It can be a bit harder to see during the darker scenes and it can be annoying when cars turn on their headlights during the movie, but overall it went smoothly. Some tips are to bring a portable radio or speaker if you have one, so you don't have to drain your car battery leaving the radio on. We arrived a little bit over an hour early after reading some of the reviews warning about long lines, which may have ended up being overkill, but we got a great spot! Coning in about 20 mins before screen time, we did not wait too long in line for movie tickets. We found a good spot, parked our van backwards, and had our cozy couch setup with the tailgate open. Did a mention their humongous bucket of popcorn for only $8? None can be said for your regular movie theaters and it's just as good. Loved this experience! Never been to a drive in before and this spot was amazing. Went to see the 11pm Morgan Freeman movie, Vanquish. Huge screens and plenty of parking in that lot. You can either get tickets online or pay at the gate. Concessions were a nice surprise treat too. So many food options! I didn't know where to stop. From cotton candy to ice cream to super nachos and hot dogs, this drive-in has all your needs covered! Probably getting too old to stay out that late lol! We were snoring before the credits. Wish I could give this place a zero star. I live in San Jose, usually I go there ( from now on I will). Getting in I noticed the traffic wrapped around the block. They had an empty pay station. We got there 40 mins early and barely made it in time. My radio wasn't working so I went in to ask for a personal radio ( which San jose location has) and they didn't have any. So my wife went to ask for a raincheck and she was asked to go to the box office. She was then hit by a car and nothing was done by the employees. They didn't even bother to see if she was ok. Oh and whoever does the projection at this place should be fired. The throw and angle were both off. Just embarrassing. Horrible experience. Wouldn't come back if you paid me read more

This was definitely an experience to have especially during these crazy covid times. I'm thankful for being able to experience this through my companies work function so if your company is looking for something to do make sure to check this out! We were able to get a whole screening of Jumanji 2 and although I wasn't able to check out the food venders I was impressed with how smooth the transaction was from driving in, finding our screen, and picking a parking space. One thing that sucks (which is totally on my part) is having an electric car. They aren't meant to be in idle for long periods of time so I had to frequently re set my car since the sound is through the radio. Make sure to bring cozy blankets and sit back and relax! read more

First time doing a drive-in with my fiancé and I really enjoyed it. We watched the new Wonder Woman movie on a Sunday evening! We got there about 2 hours early at 4:40pm since the ticket said we can arrive 2 hours early to pick our spot. However, the gates weren't open and the ticket person said they're not ready until 5:15pm. It was confusing and there was no signage with instructions so cars we're driving g up to be told they're not open yet. We ended up waiting on the side and other cars followed as well. When we finally got in, the parking spots were first come first served! There's restrooms on each end of the food concession that sold popcorn and soda. Not sure what else as I didn't go inside, but I assume candy and all the usual theatre snacks! Overall this is a nice alternative to the movie theatre and you can bring whatever you want to eat! No restrictions at all! Covid Protocol: we were told to park 6 ft away from other cars so it's nice knowing that each car is at least one parking spot away from each other! I highly recommend paying this drive-in a visit for date nights or family night! :) read more

Woah I didn't know there was a drive-in in Concord! I haven't been to a drive-in since I was maybe five(?), and I didn't see many helpful reviews so hopefully this one can be informative for those going to a drive-in for the first time or first time in a LONG time. My girlfriend and I came on a Saturday for a 9 PM showing. The line to get into the drive-in was pretty long with cars back-to-back like an In-n-Out drive-thru (please don't cut the line and go to the back!). It took about 20-minutes to get to the gate so plan to arrive at least 30-minutes early to wait in line and park in your spot. The price is $8.25 per person. You tell the employee at the gate which movie you want to see and he/she will inform you the screen to park in front of and the FM radio station to dial into for the audio. Make sure you listen carefully because employee can talk super quickly to get through the line of cars and there is virtually NO signage inside the drive-in (it would be nice to have the screens labeled and arrows to direct cars... there is none of that so be observant). Despite the long ling to get into the drive-in, the parking lot is HUGE and there were plenty of empty spaces (probably only a third full -- perhaps it gets busier in the summer). The audio quality was really clear. The movie started right on time (there are previews) and overall it was a really nostalgic and unique experience! If you have a modern car you shouldn't have to worry about your battery dying, although I did see a AAA truck jumpstarting cars. If you want to get out faster, you can park towards the edge of the lot so you will be one of the first out. read more

If you are here for the movie and snack bar, you probably will be very disappointed. Not sure if the building of the snack bar is always 100 degrees inside (even with fans blowing), but it's incredibly uncomfortable, especially knowing the employees are working in that of condition dripping sweat. Hubby stood in line for a frozen margarita, and the machine was probably 500 years old and dropped 1 tablespoon into the glass every five seconds. Took forever for the mix to fill the glass. I've been waiting to see a movie at the Drive-In Solano for quite some time. I was happy that I was able to stop by Saturday night. The online reservation for the tickets was easy to use. The attendant at the front was really great and I appreciated his animated and friendly personality. We drove to the right screen and anxiously awaited for the movie. The concession area and restrooms were great. We hadn't heard of any sound on the dial, but right at the start it began to work! We watched Dune on the big screen. I don't think the outdoor screen is meant for darker movies. Overall, it was a fun experience but I'm not sure if I'll be back in the future. read more
