The prices for rentals are totally reasonable and they hoisted the heavy tandem kayak we rented up on top of my very tall vehicle and ratcheted it down. Rental included life vests and paddles. One of the highlights was the brief instructional on attaching the beast to my roof rack, and I am happy to say that I finally understand how to thread ratcheting tie downs. Make a volcano, then rappel down into the volcano. We had a great day on the reservoir and these guys made it easy peasy. I'll be back in a few weeks for a paddle board.

I went to the Logan Aquatic Center for the first time a couple of Sundays ago and was impressed by…read morethe local culture. Pool regulars had erected tents, set up beach umbrellas, and laid out vast swaths of blankets and towels to stake their claim upon the grassy area near the slides. Others allowed their belongings to spill across picnic tables and pool chairs. However, these areas had all been deserted in favor of the crystal clear pools and curling slides. In all, there are three pools at the Logan Aquatic Center: a lap pool, a leisure pool, and a diving pool. There are also two moderately-sized water slides. Concessions are available, though I didn't check them out. Life jackets are available to rent for free for the duration of your visit. My companions told me that the place is a zoo on Saturdays. Though it was busy on Sunday, it wasn't crowded. One good reason to go on Saturday (if you qualify) is that people with disabilities and their families can swim for free from 9-11:30 am. I found regular admission to be surprisingly cheap. For $5, I could swim all day. The Logan Aquatic Center is a great place to spend the day! I'm glad I went and will definitely return before the end of the summer.

There's plenty of room for a splash pad too. Honestly, it may be more of a 3.5, but it's well kept, has adequate safety team, and I enjoy lounging on their freshly mown lawn.

This past September I finished the Top of Utah Marathon up in Logan, UT. It was my first time…read morerunning a Marathon and it was a great experience. The course started at Hardware Ranch, came 14 miles down Blacksmith Fork Canyon to Hyrum and then wound its way North up to Logan. This is considered one of the great downhill marathon courses in America. Beautiful fall mountain scenery. Fantastic weather. The running felt great for me for the first 15 or so miles (all downhill). A friend of mine from the neighborhood (Ryan) ran the first half of the Marathon with me and then blazed ahead at mile 13 when I told him that my left leg was tightening up and I started to come off our pace. At mile 16 both of my legs were tight at mile 21 walking at the aid stations didn't relieve the pain - so I just ran. I felt like an old granny at the end. Thousands of people were out cheering and provided a nice boost. Ryan ended up qualifying for Boston in the process (sweet!) while I limped in to finish with a 3:49. Hey, at least I beat Oprah!!!!

This is a fast course, but there are some uphill climbs starting at mile 20. The last 10K is a little rough; winding uphill through residential area. Overall a great and fun race! I would run it again, smaller race so I got to finish with my sons running along side of me. Also, took third in my division. They have pretty cool trophies and cash awards.

Peggy spent hours working with me to help coordinate the cake, make and set up decorations, and she even put together our arch (which was adorable btw) in the last hour, because I forgot everything about it! These guys bent over backward to make our day absolutely perfect! The gardens are AMAZING and I could not hear enough about them all night. They are so well maintained and so gorgeous, I can't imagine the amount of time spent on them. The building is always immaculate, just like the gardens, and the gift shop is fantastic (and CRAZY reasonable. Btw.) There are dried flowers picked directly from the gardens that you can buy and decorate your home with in the gift shop and they smell AMAZING. We loved our night. We loved our experience.
